The only negative about our stay, was it was only one night! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and a view of the canal out front. Breakfast was excellent, and had something for everyone. The patio out front, and the garden out back were gorgeous! The dock out front meant we could conveniently catch our boat taxi literally outside the front door. Location was quiet, but near sites, restaurants and bars, and gelato! A 15 minute walk took us to St. Mark’s square. But the best thing? The staff! They saw us rolling our suitcases across the front courtyard, and ran outside to take them from us! We were way ahead of check-in time, and the staff were kind enough to store our bags. When we returned from our day, our bags were already in our room. After a long day of travel from the US, it was so nice to be so well taken care of!

The hotel is in a great location - very close to the Accademia vaporetto stop so easy to get around all areas of Venice. The junior suite had one small window with a view of the garden and was quite dated. Comfortable, quiet and very clean but somewhat dated. The outdoor spaces are lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was appreciated and offered a range of options. There is a coffee machine but the waiter will make you a proper Cappuccino if you ask. The person who made up our room did an excellent job every day. I would stay here again.

Charming hotel in the calm Dorsoduro district of Venice. The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes away from the Accademia bridge and 15 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco. It's nice to not be in the center of all the hectic tourist action, and Pensione Accademia feels like a serene oasis in the otherwise busy and lively Venice. Additionally, don't skip out on the nice neighborhood amenities located close to this hotel, such as the tasty cichetti bars down the street, multiple museums, and delicious restaurants.

Superb location for the Accademia, Guggenheim, and Ca’ Rezzoncio. Great bakery for a Cornetto the Italian version of croissants at Pasticceria Toletta.

The location of the Pensione Accademia cannot be faulted, being close to the Accademia Gallery and vaparreto stop. It’s also within walking distance of several Venetian attractions. This was my third stay here. The service seemed less friendly than on previous visits. Reception staff were invariably grumpy. On the plus side they did arrange a breakfast basket for my early morning departure.

A great place for us to stay while visiting Venice. We took the Vaporetta from the train station to the hotel. Once there, we were shown to a lovely room with the view of a narrower canal and the hotel garden. The location was very convenient. An easy walk to the Doge’s Palace, Guggenheim Museum, and Rialto Bridge. The people were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were ideal. This was really an ideal place to stay in Venice!

We loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. The location is amazing with the canal views and the lovely gardens at the front and back. Breakfast is very good with many and varied choices. The room was spacious and comfortable. The path outside the hotel is quiet but it only takes a few minutes to walk to Piazza San Marco. The private gate onto the canal for where water taxis stop is a lovely extra!

Found nice restaurants tucked away in the side streets. The hotel bar looked fun but I didn't partake. You may have to walk a ways and up steps to get to your room but worth it. Highly recommend.

The property is beautiful and the location is very quiet . He gardens are beautiful as there is a breakfast patio . They serve a breakfast every morning and it was very good . The staff is very helpful with all your questions and are very professional and willing to help . The room was very comfortable . We had a room on the canal side and we could open the windows for the scenery which was very nice . I only have two complaints . I do hope the owners listen and make a very small change that make a big difference in the quality of sleep for all your guests .

This hotel is perfect - away from the activity of St. Marks Square. Took us about 15 minutes to walk over. Close to Ponte dell'Accademia. Beautiful gardens, wonderful breakfast, sitting rooms. Understated Elegance
The old palace offers many places to sit inside and outside. You're not simply confined to your room and a busy lobby. I wanted something with an old Venetian feeling and this certainly provided that. I loved the view of a minor canal from our window that led to the Grand Canal. Just so readers know, the Grand Canal is noisy. The pensione was calm. Amazingly, they had two garden, front and back and all landscaping was carefully tended. The breakfasts on the terrace were gracious and all staff were extremely cordial, Amazing feeling of being off the beaten path while actually being centrally located. You feel brought back to the times when the Russian Aristocracy stayed here.

Private taxi boat from the airport dropped us on the hotel dock and promptly picked us up at the hotel for return to the airport. Easy walking distance to major sites, like Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs. Hotel is steps from the Grand Canal. Very clean, no unpleasant smells from the canal and no mosquitoes to note. Will 100% stay there again. Great visit!

The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly. Some staff were nice like the gentleman at the buffet who greeted us in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our food. We stayed for three nights and there were several times where we’d enter the hotel and the guy at the front desk would say nothing. Our shower wasn’t draining properly and we asked them to fix it. The property was beautiful with a lovely garden. Breakfast every morning had more then you could want or need. Comfortable bed and cozy quaint room ours had a lovely view of the canal. Lovely and friendly staff/ the front desk gentleman was very helpful, I just wish I remembered his name. He told us about a free tour to a glass blowing factory in Burano which was fabulous, with a free taxi ride, that was like a tour because it was such a beautiful way to see the city on the way to Burano, if you can take advantage of the free tour. Overall I can not say enough about our visit to Venice and our stay at this hotel. Only negative is if you have issues with stairs ask for a Downstairs room if possible. I will recommend to anyone going to Venice.

My partner and I had a lovely stay here. The location was perfect - it's near enough to the tourist areas but nice and quiet, tucked away at the end of a footpath so no passing foot traffic at night either. The staff were friendly and amenable - they fulfilled a cheeky request for a canal view as we couldn't find a specific option to book one on Expedia, they allowed us to check in 30mins early on arrival and held a backpack for us on our last day so we could explore for the day without luggage. Breakfast spread was lovely with hot and cold/sweet and savoury options for all needs. The decor was lovely and traditional without feeling stuffy, and our room was spotless on arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pensione Accademia

This was my first time in Venice and I couldn't have picked a better hotel. It's a beautiful, historic building a few minutes from the Academia Art Gallery and vaporetto stop, as well as the Accademia Bridge. It's incredibly handy for the Grand Canal but is situated in a quiet district. The staff are all very pleasant, the rooms are clean and nicely furnished and the breakfast is first class. Highly recommended!

The service is superb, the location is good, and the setting is beautiful. It is close to two vaporetto stops, one of which is on the water taxi route to the airport. It is walkable to the Accademia and the Accademia Bridge over the Grand Canal.
The staff is super helpful. They helped carry my bags up and down from my room, provided silverware when I needed it for my takeout dinner, gave my a tray every morning so I could eat breakfast in my room, and answered all my questions. I really liked them.

Delightful Accademia Pensione in Dorsoduro
The Accademia/Maravege is a delightful family-run historic Pensione that has been cosily modernised in a good convenient location in the Dorsoduro area near the Accademia Bridge vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal - with many excellent local restaurants! The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and well-furnished, and the breakfast selection is good and tasty. It also has a lovely front patio and rare courtyard garden. Highly recommended.
