The motel is very old. It has a strong moldy smell for our entire stay. The hotel staff told us it smells because the property is old. Nothing they could do other than an air spray. Nobody came to clean the room. For the price we paid it’s not worth it. It’s acceptable /ok otherwise. Close to the cavendish beach.

I think $40 PER NIGHT PLUS TAX for a dog was a little outrageous and that we had to keep going to the office for toilet paper

Loved that the unit was clean. Old but clean. Blankets and foam pad available upon request. Pets permitted with extra charge. Loved the kitchenette and barbeques. The place was quiet even though there were children in other units.
The proximity to attractions, beaches, shopping and all areas of PEI was excellent.. I will definitely return.

Room was nothing special but was clean. The reason for 3 stars is because they charged us $40 for a night for our small 6 pound dog travelling with us. Everywhere we stayed all over Atlantic Canada charged max of $25 night. Felt like price gouging to us.

The property is quite old even though it's renovated. This was the only night we stayed in Cavendish and it was quite a surprise that the office only open until 6 PM and the check in time starts at 3 PM. It seems quite short hours for a motel. Also there was only a small soap provided and we could not request for additional soap once the office is closed. But the motel is located in a convenient location.

Great location of a patio. Nice patio, spacious. Would be best if the mattresses could be updated and the cushions on the chairs as they were stained.
First time check-in was handled like this- a phone call and explanation with the key left in the room. This was smooth after a long day of travel. Would stay again!

The staff were incredible! Very hard working, super pleasant, very helpful with any questions or needs. The grounds were neat and tidy. I realize that the property is old and you can see that they are working to make the required upgrades and refresh's to each room. This will take time, however, for the new owners only taking possession for a year. It is apparent that they are trying their best to make sure everyone is taken care of during the upgrades. It was great to have wireless internet available, what is now a must have, it's still nice to see that they are doing what they can to keep everyone happy. I spoke with a guest that has been staying for the past 21 years and she's very happy with the changes as well. I will be happy to suggest this location to anyone who inquires about it. Keep up the great work and I hope to see you again soon!

Our toilet has issues flushing anything. We did not flush even toilet paper. It backed up and my son put his hand all the way down the toilet to see if there was a clog he could remove and he did. I notified the front desk that this persisted and was very unnecessary for my son to ned to deal with. There is one toilet and it should work and would have been easily identifiable by staff who cleaned the toilet, if they did clean the toilet.
I went to the front desk that is only staffed from 4:30-6 pm and told them that I would like to receive a refund for one or both nights. I was told that would happen and never received this, but rather returned home, after dinner, in our second night to find a trash can with a used and feces covered toilet plunger in it in front of our motel room.
This is unacceptable service and I would still like to have at least one night reimbursed to me as a result of having to deal with the toilet for nearly the full duration of our two night stay.

Well where do I begin. This was my sixth time staying at this place. Upon arrivial I asked the women at the desk is this the same owner her reply was I dont know . Then I paid just under 600 for a 2 night stay with a kitchenette. After paying all I got was a receipt no enjoy your stay nothing except if you need clean towels put in laundry basket and put it outside your door. Got to the room the furniture was old ,beds older than heck and not comfortable at all . The burners on the stove very rusted there was mold all around rubber on the fridge, the cushions on the chairs at the table were so stained and filthy. Then was greeted with a sign which said if there was any strong odors left in room from cooking u would be charged additionally. Therefore u pretty much are told to cook outside so there was no reason to get a kitchenette. Even baseboards were dirty. There were four of us none of us were pleased but room was paid in full. No staff approached to us to ask how are stay was or if anything was needed. There was no phone in room to call office so if anything was needed u had to find staff. The TV was a 32 in or smaller as well. The outside of building was also in need of TLC. Would I stay here again absolutely \"No\". It was not worth the money we spent.

A quaint family type motel. The young man working the desk was extremely pleasant, and helpful. Our room was a good size, with lots of floorspace to move around. The window AC unit was very noisy, but we were able to open the windows for fresh air. The bathtub faucet was in very poor condition, so it was very difficult to adjust the water temperature. Despite some shortcomings, I would stay here again.

This motel was wonderful! We stayed a cottage style room. It was greatly prepared for everyting like cooking appliances. The room was wide and very clean with very cozy atmosphere making us feel very comfortable and relaxing.
Its location was excellant to reach a beautiful Cavendish beache as well as many tour places. There is a good grocery store near the motel, which made the stay more comfortable with good cooking.

We were put in back of property because we used third party booking . Not given the type of room we had booked .

No drinking glasses provided in room . Ice came in a miniature ice cube tray which you had to get from office.

Chairs in back of property were all broken whereas the chairs in front which could be seen by public were nice Adirondack chairs .

And the tv service was just a streaming device no regular tv .
The whole experience was a nightmare !

Nice motel, friendly owner run property. Clean, spacious rooms - the only thing complaints would be had a small tv and the AC worked fine but the curtains on the window completely blocked the airflow so had to keep them open so could feel it. Great area outside with bbq's and picnic tables, handy for cooking your own food if desired. Beautiful part of the island.

It was a very friendly welcome as we came to the front door. Although the guy wasn’t right there (it was after 7 PM) the contact number was right there AND he was quick to answer and come.
Super nice guy, quick check in, a slight upgrade, and we were ready.
The space we got was cute, rustic, clean, and cozy. The only complaint would be that it was late September and it got quite cool at night, with no option of heating the space up.
All in all we would stay here again!

There were several very unappealing things about the state of uncleanliness. Please see the pictures. I reported several things including the squashed fly on the inside of the window, the very dirty walkway leading to our room, and expected that they would actually do something about it, but they did nothing.
There was an unwelcoming sign in the room indicating that if you wanted clean towels you had to gather them up, put them in the basket and put them outside your door! No cleaning of the room during our stay.
There was hair in the shower/bath.

Pool hours were 11-8, but you have to check in after 330 and check out before 10. If you’re staying 1 night that means you’re very limited in time to use it. Basically just a few hours on first day.
Key for back door did not work so had to walk around building to get back in after swim. Also people are allowed to smoke right outside your back door which goes right into the room. Very strong smell especially when not tobacco.
The kids loved the pool!

We really enjoyed our stay at Silverwood! I couldn't get over how clean the room smelled when we first arrived. The room has a little kitchenette which was great when traveling with toddler. Also the bathroom was fantastically clean! Staff very friendly as well, they came to room when checked in to be sure everything was set up and explained the TV. Great experience!

I was quite disapointed that there was no one at teh desk to speak to other then check in time. No one to talk to after 6pm. So if there was a problem, there was no one present to help. Just no personal I guess. The lady who did eventually check me in was friendly. The office door was only unlocked from 3:30 (check-intime) to 6 pm. And check out there was a box to drop keys. Nothing warm about that or to get feedback fromt he stay.

Good luck finding help, when you need it. Our room bath tub had a slow drain problem, the next morning when I tried to walk into the office after the post opening time of 9 AM, no one was there. Plumbing was from the 70s! The beds mattresses were also old. I will never come back again. Oh on check out time, same thing, no one was at the office at 10 AM, I just dropped the keys and left.

We had a full-size refrigerator in our room which was great for keeping drinks cold and refreezing cold packs for our coolers. They didn't have their room procedures written down, for example we were to leave dirty towels and trash in a basket and can respectively outside of our room. We only learned that by observing others.

Owners were awful, room was dirty, outlet in bathroom never worked, AC did not work, workers came in room while we were away without our permission, someone’s stuff was left under our bed from previous stay, spider webs in corner of room, no plug for bathroom when they knew we had children coming, and when we brought the issues up to them they hung up on us. We are very upset with our stay. Also $100 was charged extra and no one knows why. Never again will we go through them

I shared some ideas with the manager, I hope over time he incorporates them. I was disappointed about not having a coffee machine in the room, pretty standard these days. Had to ask for plastic cups, weren’t in the bathroom. No ice bucket in the room so I bought plastic ice bags you fill with water and freeze.☺️who knew? Not me! Later I seen a guest with ice in a bag!🤷‍♀️ I seen a freezer out the back later on, would have been nice to be told. After dropping over 1100 dollars for a five night stay, no “ thank you” or “ have a nice stay”! Came in earlier than check in, waited a bit, but got our room a little earlier so that was a blessing!

This property needs a serious update. The price you pay is unbelievable for the condition of the room and property. Room is dated, smelt musty. The steps, and stairs are dated, unpainted, rotting wood, etc.
Was also charged extra for our children when we booked a two bed room precisely for that reason. Would never stay again.
