We recently stayed at this hotel as a family and had a very mixed experience. The ONLY positive side, the location was excellent—close to everything we needed and very convenient for getting around the area.

Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn’t live up to expectations. The breakfast was inconsistent and often not stocked, which made mornings frustrating when items ran out and weren’t replenished. Even more concerning, our room had no heat during our stay. There was also no coffee maker in the room, like stated their would be. We reached out to the front desk multiple times, but there was no effort made to resolve the issue or offer an alternative, which made for a very uncomfortable experience. You will never be able to reach hotel staff for problems, they will not pick up the phone.

To make matters worse, we were later accused of breaking not just one, but two beds during our stay—something that was both surprising and upsetting, as we treated the room respectfully. The situation felt mishandled and left a negative impression, even after providing proof, that the beds were not broken by us during our stay.

Overall, while the location is a definite highlight, the lack of basic amenities, poor service, and unfounded accusations made this a disappointing stay. Traveler beware.

Rooms are not even at the hotel reception. Beds are smaller than advertised. Staff is unable to help and walls are very thin in hotel rooms. There was hair all over the comforters, not a good experience. I tried to get a refund for the second unused day and they couldn't get me in contact with the Trevi Group.

Very very central hotel at the fontana di trevi . Our room was on the third floor with no lift. The stairs to reach the room are stressful to everyone, a customer should be asked before given a room with no lift. The floor of the room was never cleaned in 3 days.

Property is old, the shower head was coming off of the wall, ants in the room, and mold/mildew in the bathroom.

We stayed on the top floor of one of their nine buildings. Many flights of stairs or a very cramped, tiny, scary elevator ride.

Booked through Expedia and pre-paid for the breakfast option. When trying to get said breakfast was denied and said we needed to pay. Talked to elderly man with glasses at the front desk and he was rude and dismissive. Rolled his eyes at us and told us there is nothing about included breakfast in our reservation, even though the person who checked us in told us specifically we prepaid for the breakfast. This person then told us to wait for his colleague to start their shift to talk to them and shooed us away.

Hotel refused to check me in until another guest going to the same building arrived, but on a separate booking arrived. Gave my key to that other guest. Damaged luggage while moving luggage into the room (they insisted on moving it themselves). Room was not of a similar standard or style compared to photographs on website. Strong smell of sewage all along my floor. Decent location , but would stay at another hotel in future.

We arrived early and they were able to hold our bags until we could check in which allowed us to explore worry free. We got our rooms and we had the most amazing view on our balconies. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. A couple little mechanical hiccups which were reported and fixed. Location is centrally located by the Trevi fountain which was very advantageous. I will book there again on my next Roman vacation

Close to Trevi fountain, we got put in the second building and one of the other rooms had music on all night super loud, the towels were not changed they would just fold the same towels and hang them back up/ bed sheets were not clean or replaced , had to ask for toilet paper cuz they wouldn’t leave any restroom was dirty wasn’t cleaned good there was ants in the room , maybe look for a another hotel.

Overall the trevi hotel was an excellent stay with kind staff. The coffee maker was broken and only put out coffee grounds. There was a half drank juice in the mini bar which wasn’t great but the location was perfect the room was clean and the staff was helpful and kind. We will stay there again!

Review for family rooms (4 people)

We went as two families who booked separately in family rooms. The location to Trevi fountain etc. is fantastic, it can be loud, busy and dirty we expected this as you are in a major tourist attraction in a busy city.

Note that there are approx 10 Trevi hotels in this area. The reception area is small, clean no problems.

The problem came when we checked into our room, we were taken to the back annex, sketchy alley (a family room) entry way was wood floor boards and pieces of the wall missing. Nothing was mentioned the hotel was “under construction”. The room itself was very small, dark and dirty carpeting. After discussing with the reception clerk and reviewing pictures on expedia of how they sell the hotel (with the realization pictures aren’t always accurate, this was way off) I was told that the pictures on expedia are of the “main hotel” not family rooms. We were moved to another room same building, the room was a little bigger and fine, still dirty carpet and the bathroom could use Clorox, we had no other choices as all the hotels and rooms were full.

The other family we were with had a completely different building, room was much better, they ended up moving to another hotel (by reception) as they had an awful garbage smell and their room was very loud from the street and then the garbage and bottle pick up in the mornings.

The property wasn't cleaned well. There was damage to the room. The air conditioner made the worst sounds. The bed was terrible. We complained and they moved us to a different room where the air conditioner didn't work well. They also moved is to a room that had just been painted that day. The shower handle fell off. At one point our bathroom trash disappeared . I would not recommend this hotel.

The location is what is key about this property. You are blocks from Trevi Fountain, and the excitement (and crowds) around that area. We walked to everything from there but the Vatican. They have three buildings so be very careful when communicating with the ownership as to where the rooms are. They moved us around and we ended up in two rooms two blocks away from each other.

I love the staff here! There’s pros and cons in staying here.

Pros:
We got the bigger room. It was actually spacious.
Room was clean
Amazing staff! Very accommodating
Location is unbeatable! C’mon! 1 min from Trevi fountain. Tip: Take a picture at Trevi fountain around 6:30 am. With the hotel so close to the attraction, there’s a better opportunity to go early since it’s always packed.
Breakfast Buffet is not too bad.

Cons:
- noisy. Our room is located right next to the street. We can hear everything and it’s hard to sleep.
- AC NOT WORKING. Or they might have turned it off because of the Season. I understand. But you could have invested in some fans, maybe?

The location is the reason I booked this hotel. It’s 1 minute walk to Trevi Fountain and easy to get to the other famous landmarks of Rome. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. They changed the towels everyday. The room we had was small but it was alright as we were just there to sleep and shower.

I enjoyed the room but I didn’t have a coffee pot or tea in my room. I asked for one but never received. The breakfast wasn’t worth paying for. The expresso were good. Staff was very nice and helpful except front desk night clerk I think he name was Armando. Every time I asked for something it was no or you have to wait in the morning definitely not accommodating. The area where breakfast is you have to walk up a flight of stairs so if you are elderly or disabled it might be a challenge.

This is a decent hotel within walking distance of a lot of tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and most helpful and the beds were comfortable and all was clean. Very close to the hotel is a lovely bakery and we stopped for lattes and fresh pastries every morning. We took tours and though this hotel was not on the list of free pick-up hotels, we were always picked up from the lobby. If you want a good basic hotel, this is a great choice.

This is a great location! They placed me in another facility around the corner from this address. The room was clean and spacious. However, I called the front desk several times to order a taxi to the airport with no answer. I finally had to put my clothes on and walk around to the main building to request the taxi. which still was not ordered. This is my only complaint!..... The location is everything

There was no window in room . This is adequate for the price I paid but I would rather pay more and have a room with a window to the outside and not so inconvenient to get to.

We arrived at the original hotel we had booked and they sent us to another since there were no more rooms available. I was prepared for a fight as the one we booked seemed great. When we arrived to the new hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised. Large, modern, beautiful room!!! Service was great and it was very clean.

NOTE: be prepared to pay the €54 euro tax. Nobody will tell you about this until you check out. And then when questioned, they point to a hidden sign.

First, we were put up in a building that is separate from the hotel. Room was on the third floor with no elevator.

Second, we woke up the next morning with no hot water! Showered with cold water, called reception, was told they would look into it.

Third, every morning at 5am there were noises from staff or maybe guests in the narrow stairway, chatting loudly, called reception and was told it would be taken care of during the day .....?? It was only that when I opened the door and yelled “guests are sleeping” did it stop.

Night before checkout, asked if we could have someone come in the morning to pick up our luggage, was told that I would have to come to reception in the morning, the receptionist could not be bothered to make a note and was rude.

Overall a terrible experience.

Absolutely worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I spent almost $300 per night for this hotel and when I checked in the claimed that had double booked me and had to change me to another sister hotel of theirs. I had booked a hotel near the trevi and they wanted to transfer me to a completely different location. I was not happy and had asked for my money back and they refused and stated that there were no refunds. So in short I was transferred to a completely different hotel with no view, no working air conditioning and to top it off the hotel I ended up at was booking for half of what I had paid for my original room.

Loved that we were so close to Trevi fountain and shopping! We stayed in a separate building from the main hotel and had many doors with different keys to navigate but definitely felt secure! The room was modern and big. Our only complaint was the room was too warm -air conditioning didn't cool down the room enough even on high. We appreciated the help with our giant luggage!! Friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was ok but so many wonderful little cafes right there. Would stay again.

A horrible experience in Rome

The only good thing about this hotel is the location! The first night we were put in a room outside of the hotel, in a different building which was fine because the room was nice and large. The next day after we came back from breakfast, there was no water in the room so we could not wash your hands take a shower or even flush the toilet! I went to the main building to complain and it took them a couple of hours to figure out the cause and he eventually said that there was no one that could fix it that day so they had to have us pack and move to another room in the main building. The new room was a quarter of the size, so small that we could not even open one of our luggages. The man at the reception was very rude and said these things happen as if it was not a big deal that there would be no running water in the room! When I complained to Hotels.com, the hotel had the a audacity to say that they actually gave us an upgrade which was the biggest lie ever and they denied having any problems. I would never stay in this hotel again as there are so many other hotels nearby around the same price! I'm glad that this was not my first time in Rome, otherwise I completely wasted most of my one of two days in the city because of this water problem and the hotel did not even want to give a partial refund to make up for all the inconvenience and waste time! This hotel's customer service really sucks!

Great location. Frustrating service

Some of my complaints were beyond control, but no real attempts were made to rectify situation, in some ways, we were made to feel at fault, and in the end, there was no offer of restitution. Great car shuttle service to the airport.

Won't be back.

Our room was not in the hotel but a block away from it. Followed our polite porter who navigated through very crowded pedestrian area and had to climb a flight of stairs with luggage. Room was very small for our family of 4, though beds were comfortable, We did not appreciate killing a cockroach in the bathroom. We were in an absurdly loud area next to restaurants and loud crowds walking under our windows. Clean up by restaurants and garbage trucks smashing bottles and banging of metal of garbage trucks crunching garbage way after midnight was ridiculous when you're exhausted and just want to sleep. The $50. Limo service to airport was handy. There was no free coffee back at hotel lobby which was disappointing too. Went next door to small cafe for coffee and pastries. We will not be returning to this hotel.
