The toilet wasn't fastened to the floor, the refrigerator wasn't working, the ac wasn't working until the person pushed a button, the blanket had a cigarette burn in it and it was supposed to be a non smoking room and it reaked of cigarettes.

The room as a whole was clean with all the amenities that you would expect. The bed was a little uncomfortable. However, the water pressure in the shower was definitely better than most hotels that I have stayed at.

It’s not a 5 star hotel by any means but I didn’t pay for one either. It was clean quiet and uneventful. The owner is a super friendly guy and I enjoyed chatting with him for a minute. Water was hot, didn’t run out as in some places and the pressure was good. A/C worked great and was quiet. No complaints and I would stay again.

I didn't have time to read the reviews, so I was expecting a decent array of breakfast items based on the website photos. However, they no longer offer breakfast even though these pictures still show the breakfast area and selections, which represents false advertising. When I called to verify our reservations and let them know we were brining a dog, "Bob" should have mention this, but he didn't. Upon our arrival and seeing my disappointment about breakfast, he did loan us a small coffee pot with coffee and filters, which was much appreciated by my wife. The washer and dryer worked well and were reasonable at $2.00 each.
The motel is cute and our room was clean. The king bed was nice and firm, the AC worked well and there was plenty of hot water. The lawn in front was lush and clean, so your dogs will be happy. I let my dog run loose in the big field to the north of the motel to get some exercise. I would consider staying here again. If you have time, be sure to visit Cloudland Canyon State Park off Hwy. 136 on the way to Trenton, GA near the Alabama and Tennessee borders. At about 3,000' elevation, it should be nice there even during the summer.

After staying at “cheap” motels most of my childhood, I know how much of a chance it is to book a motel.
We were pleasantly impressed at the Key West. While there were small issues such as sagging mattress on 1 side (easily remedied with 2 pillows), gap under the door ((rolled towel), the room was clean with no bad odors, shower was hot and had great pressure, very quiet and provided 2 nights of comfortable sleep.
We asked for a 1st floor room when we arrived and were gladly provided a handicapped room. Manager was extremely nice.

Front lobby is locked and you have to speak to someone through a window for check-in or any issues. Our room had dirty towels in the bathroom and there was still trash in the floor. We had booked for 4 people and there were only 2 towels in the bathroom. Just overall felt uncleaned upon check-in. Our key card stopped working after they cleaned our room and we had to have them re-magnetized to get back in. Will not stay there again if we return to the area.

Pleasantly surprised!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. It didn’t smell weird. Not a lot of frills but the outside is cute. I liked that it was near a Walmart and Waffel House. Even though it was near a few stores it was still pretty quiet and felt safe.

Still had lobby shut for Covid! We had to check in through a"night window." No swimming pool, no continental breakfast, absolute bare minimum of towels (2), no maintenance, most light bulbs burned out, room has been smoked in.

I did not like the check in service through a window with a speaker like the movie theater. I felt this was very impersonal. The interior is very dated yet clean. I did see a roach run across the floor. Rather disappointed for the price. Seemed more like a $59.00 a night room

We had stayed at this motel about a year ago and were very
pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the staff. So of course this was our first place to look at when we needed a one-night stay. This stay was as wonderful as the first one. Check-in was easy and the room was clean and well-maintained. When my husband mentioned that last time we had an upstairs room that made it difficult with his bad knees the clerk quickly let us have a room at street level. That was particularly nice. I would recommend this motel to anyone who wants an affordable, friendly, and clean place to stay.

Overall property was what I expected for the money. It would be nice to go in the office vice standing outside (Covet was Bedding had burn marks and other stains. Room was clean but definitely dated. Coffee in the morning would have been nice but overall stay was as expected for a budget hotel.

The room was just what I expected: VERY clean and adequate as far as amenities (soap, shampoo, towels, clean sheets, etc.

Check-in was a bit difficult for me due to having to speak through a window that was not very clear. I think it was due to COVID but I do not hear well and I could barely see the gentleman's lips to help me interpret what he was saying. It was very cold and I would have prefered being able to check in in the comfort of an office.

It would have been nice to have had a coffee maker and coffee, sugar & creamer in the room.

I would say it was ok. If your in a bind in Georgia and need a place to stay this is probably one of your better options. The service was nice, he was very helpful. The beds are full size, not queen and not really comfortable. The room was pretty clean. There was no free breakfast or any other ammenities.

While staying at Key West Inn, it was so quiet even though we were next to a busy highway. The bed was very comfortable and the room spacious. Having a coffee pot would have been helpful or a continental breakfast.(Neither because of Covid-19 maybe?) Owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again!

Very friendly staff. This is an older hotel, but the room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The common area walkways could use a good pressure washing, but overall it was fine. Breakfast has been suspended due to COVID, but it would be nice if we were given a credit or brown bag breakfast to go. Location is good, especially since it is very close to WalMart. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave which was very convenient for dining in. Exterior lighting is very bright for security when coming and going after dark.
Will definitely stay here again.

Over the years I have stayed in hotel/motels that were recycled and this was one of the best of those units. I was surprised.

An exceptional visit at Key West Inn at Layfayette

Although I ran into a snafu and wasnt able to spend much time on the property I give the room good marks for cleanliness. The price was very reasonable. However the outstanding part of the Key West Inn was the proprieters, They were so helpful, concerned and friendly. They went above board to ensure my stay was pleasant and I would definitly return.

Man with gun and not first time he has done this

The room was ok. The pictures were very different than the pictures. The hotel was extremely run down. One night we were awakened by yelling. My Husband opened our door to figure out what was going on. There was a man waving a shot gun. When the man saw my husbsand he pointed it at our window. i called the police. It was My husband, our 9 year old son, our 6 year old grandson and me in the room. The police told us this was not the first time this man has done that at that hotel.

Do NOT book Key West, Lafayette, GA

I selected this motel, looking at cost and amenities. Listed as amenities was a pool. I had planning to spend an afternoon cooling off and taking a dip. When I arrived, I saw the pool was teeny tiny. But I also saw a sign that said "POOL CLOSED." I asked about the pool being closed and the desk clerk told me it had to do with failed inspections that they took measures to fix. But when it came to testing of the water, they were directed to take a water sample to Chattanooga and the owner just decided he was done spending money on the pool, so he closed it permanently.
I noticed next to the pool area two broken down rotted wood picnic tables sitting in the parking lot, not safe for use. Why they not removed is anybody's guess....unless the owner didn't want to expend the money to get them removed and replaced.
They had wifi available, but none of them were secured and were intermittent. I had to repeatedly change to another available wifi they had.
This is a budget motel, but I've had better experiences in other budget hotels in larger cities at less cost.

The staff was absolutely great! Very nice and accommodating! The room however was outdated but that would be my only complain. It was so quiet at night so that's always a bouns. You definitely get what you pay for so I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. The only other issue was that one of the house keepers would stare at us quite a bit anytime we were outside and really gave us a bad vibe. I even waved and said hello with no response. However they had another housekeeper that was very sweet and reassuring. We will be back again
