Room was spotless, loved the hardwood floors. Bathroom was new, the place definitely is revamped. No bugs, no cockroaches, not even a spider. Close to everything including the jail. The only part that sucked was the broken elevator. Other than that it was a comfortable stay, and I have nothing bad to say other than the elevator being broken.

There was no food or drink, not even coffee in the morning. The bed was comfortable. The room was dated. Elevator was broken. The hallways were gross. Couldn’t park in the parking lot due to a festival had to park across the street at the bank. The guy checking us was very nice and apologetic.

Room nicer than expected, interesting older property style but modernly appointed and well maintained. Elevator out of service and room on third floor but no issues. Keep in mind the area itself is a bit run down but there are great dining options regardless, and lots to do in the area (check out the free Cohanzick zoo, or the Vineland flea market; also recommend: Danny's Pizza, Custard Corral, Golden Palace, El Universal, Fuleen Meng).

That was the worst hotel that I’ve ever stayed at! The young man who worked there was very nice!! The tub was a science experiment with all the dirt and debris that was under that mat!! Horrible! The moldy door shower curtain. When it was time to sleep. I could not I was eaten alive in that room. I sprayed the beds with Lysol! I used in both beds and still eaten up! After the bugs were done with me an alarm went off at 3:08 am!!! The best thing about this visit were the food trucks across the street! Never again!!

First of all, Expedia, you said this hotel was 29 miles away. Sure. If you have a helicopter, but us normal people need to drive. It was 77 miles from where I wanted to be.
This hotel appears to be going through renovation, which is good, because it desperately needs it. Among the nastiest hotel carpet I've ever seen, and I once explored the ruins of an abandoned resort. I was afraid to touch it, even with my socks. The hair dryer was cut off and missing, but the WIRES WERE STILL THERE and presumably connected to the mains.
The bed was firm but comfortable, though it shook like a trampoline every time someone rolled over. There was no fitted sheet, just a flat sheet and a bedspread.
Staff were wonderful and as accommodating as they could be, given the state of the premises. I want to emphasize this. They were wonderful people, and I wish them well and thank them for their work

Woke up to find a dime baggy with a white residue in it stuck to my side. Still not sure how considering I checked the beds for bugs. I asked for a bucket to get ice and they said they have nothing. If we had some where else to go that evening we would have. Absolutely filthy.

Red Carpet Inn Bridgeton

I would not recommend this motel, even at $129/night. It was very difficult to close the door to the room, the TV didn't work, the ice machine looked like its been broken for years, dirty carpeting throughout the property, no towels in the room, the toilet ran all night after being flushed until i opened the tank and got it to stop running, no one at the front desk at checkout so I left after waiting 5 minutes. They were able to change my room from a King bed room, to two doubles, which was better for my son and I. The parking lot was shared with other businesses and there were many people loitering out there, making it feel like an unsafe place to park. Travelers should keep in mind this motel looks like it was built 50 years ago and no maintenance has gone into it since. Im not one to complain, but Hotels.com should probably remove this property from their inventory. Also, i would appreciate a refund or some sort of credit for the future as this was not a good experience at all.

I did not stay at the Red Carpet Inn. When I pulled into the parking lot their were at least 10-15 people with trash bags and backpacks hanging around. There were 2 more by the back entrance. I was not going to walk through the parking lot with $20,000.00 worth of video gear. I was in Jersey to photography the motorcycle races. I found a different hotel where I felt safe. I ate the 3 day reservation.

This is a roof over your head, that's all! Room was disgusting, definitely wasn't cleaned in a while! Door had been kicked in and hadn't been repaired, we jammed the chair under the door knob for security overnight. AC and fridge were moldy. Tissues stuffed in the smoke alarm. The bed was the only thing that was clean in the room. The room obviously had not been cleaned correctly. Well I walked in, and it smelled like a mixture of beer and a cleaning product. I dropped off my stuff and went on an errand when I came back, I noticed behind the door there was a beer bottle on the bottom of nightstand there were liquor bottles, I hadn’t noticed before because the bed was blocking the bottom of it. I have pictures of all this. The floors were very dirty toilet was dirty, the floor around the toilet was disgusting look like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Online it says there is breakfast, there is no breakfast! The Ice machine was not working.. The soda machine was not working. If I had had money to go stay somewhere else I would have because I don’t think I would get my money back. This whole place needs to be redone. Rain has damaged the ceilings and will eventually come through. If it hasn’t in some rooms already. I stayed here last time with a friend because she got the room and it was worse the last time. Last time the room was so disgusting and dirty we had to complain enough to where they gave us another room that they cleaned while we waited in the hall. It was really bad and I would not have returned but this time I got it because nothing else nearby available in my budget believe me I looked but I will not be staying here again. I’m going to save, save for a better room next time. This room was disgusting. Worst experience ever

RUN AWAY. DO NOT STAY HERE

This is the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. I've travelled the country many times over so that's saying something. I can deal with chipped paint etc, but the entire carpet from the elevator to all the rooms is filthy (see photo). They literally do not clean this place. The moment I got in my room and removed the comforter I found an ant in my bed. My bathroom was covered in long hair. I had to shower with flip flops on. See the photos. The hair dryer was covered in drywall dust. The lamps were filthy and one had two rusty screws on it. There were also chunks of debris on the floor by the headboard. Look at the light switch in the photo. I've never seen anything so gross. Not only do they not clean the hotel, they don't even wipe it down. This is basic stuff. The area isn't much better either. When I went to the car in the morning there were two drunk men on a bench. While I packed up one of them slowly started stumbling to my car to ask me for god knows what. I barely made it out of there before he could get to my passenger window. Stay away! The owner should be embarrassed.

Run don’t walk away from booking this hotel

We checked into the hotel for one evening on Friday June 23. The smell in the hallway and conditions of the hallway carpets should have tipped us off to what to expect in our room. Where to even begin: crumbs and the floor of our room was filthy. There was debris and crumbs and an empty water bottle and God only knows what else all over the floor. While our beds were made, when we pulled back the sheets, there were stains on both bedsheets, but more than that there were crumpled tissues in one of the made beds. In the mini refrigerator in the room, we found leftover empanadas and garlic knots, from God knows when the bathroom was beyond. There was dirt on the toilet that we had to wipe off. There was no toilet paper in the room, we had to go down to the desk to receive toilet paper. The smoke detector/fire alarm had what looked like foam coating it, coming out of the slats. There was a fly strip hanging down. The cracks in the wall and slight shabbiness of the hotel could be overlooked, but the fact that it looked like someone haphazardly made the beds and deemed the room clean is unacceptable. How this hotel is still operating is beyond me. It really sounds like a health hazard.

Once I got there I saw a lot of homeless on the sidewalk proceeded to drive into the parking lot which was in the back of the building it was very dark not enough lighting that you would feel comfortable. There was a bunch of people drinking and smoking in the parking lot. I didn’t feel comfortable or safe getting out of the car which was just me and my daughter so I just turn my car around and went to find another hotel. I do not recommend this hotel specially if you’re traveling with your family which that was my case I was travel with my 10-year-old daughter. Expedia shouldn’t have hotels like this advertise on their website terrible experience.

Came from NY and needed an affordable place before reaching the shore on a Saturday night.
Hotel had a fast check-in, 5 minutes. (I had also prepaid on Orbitz so that may have helped.) Parking was both behind the building and in front across the street. I could even see the car.
Room had the basics, clean, quiet, comfy bed and pillows, shampoo toiletries, dryer.
The king size bed was fantastic, with great space on the left, right, and in front of the TV console.
Could fit probably close to 2 twin air beds if you have more travelers. Seriously, it had breathing room not like some other hotels rooms where you are 6 inches from the wall. Very roomy.
The room was quiet, no noise from other rooms, no noisy kids, sometimes I heard a revving motorcycle on occasion but did not lose a blink of sleep. I was on the 3rd floor.
Yes, it's looks more like a building office from the outside but you are on a business corner, and it was not crazy busy. You can walk to Walgreens or KFC, or the barber, or go to a nearby restaurants.
( you can drive to The Golden Pigeon Diner which was amazing and great price) The location felt more like a diverse community neighborhood with character than a sterile shopping strip. High maintenance xenophobes should stay away.

Very overpriced for an economically-depressed and very unsafe area. Advertised “free breakfast” is a few tiny shrinkwrapped muffins an a miniscule bottle of Sunny D left in the room fridge. The room was dirty throughout; a note to housekeeping did not significantly improve the situation. Parking is across a major thoroughfare—getting luggage back and forth (with no wheeled cart) is quite a chore.

After a long day of driving, went to check in and they refused to honor my reservation despite proving it to them in my email confirmation. I was then told that the only way they would give me a room is by paying cash. The hotel refused to refund the payment when later contacted. I booked a room elsewhere for the night and I'm glad that I did. Cleanliness did not appear to be a priority here.

I booked this hotel 1 month ago and still they didn't have my booking confirmation when I went to the hotel. It is a one man service. The staff is very unfriendly except that he gave us extra towels and soaps when asked which is the only appreciable thing about this hotel. Please don't go here with an expectation of red roof inn. Sounds like that, but it is a red carpet Inn. I feel like payed twice the price for their service. Go here if you couldn't find a place in nearby hotels for last minute plan if you just need a place to sleep and bath. No bedbugs at least in my room. Hallways smell like cigarette. Sorry for all the negative comments. But it is what it is. Hope this helped you.

The hotel was cheap for the area and I see why. Let's just don't be out when the sun sets around the area of this hotel. The pillows were old and stained, the carpet was in need of cleaning. There is no free breakfast that we saw. No vending machines. The comforter looked like it needed Lysol disinfectant bathing. Front desk well really was no one there unless you rang bell way. The guy was nice but he looked liked the janitor though, that has many job title hats so to speak. We will not be staying at this particular Red Carpet Inn, it just needs a little more care and training of existing staff and hotel make over then it will be better. Otherwise it was so so at least it was quite at night to sleep. So hope it gets the TLC it needs soon.

not the fanciest place, but doable

There is no concierge.. instead there is a booth with (probably) bullet-proof glass and you have to ring the bell to get someone to come and serve you.

Instead of \"Red Carpet\" I would rename it to \"Wet Carpet\"...

They gave us a corner room on the top floor, which had never been dusted. also, there was a water damage on the ceiling and a big plastic container on the floor right under the damaged spot - in case there is rain and the water runs through. and of course it rained hard one day. when we returned to the room after the rain, we expected to see water in that container.. instead, the floor was wet in some spots. i imagine the water sipped through the walls or something, not through that hole in the ceiling.

still there was enough comfort to provide a decent rest for a few nights.. room was spacious and they did do room service every day (again, no dusting, no toilet cleaning). also.. one of the towels they gave us was dirty.
Even for a cheap room it wasn't the best accommodation.

DON'T EVEN BOTHER

The sale on this room was purportedly half off, which would put the standard price over $100 a night. Vineland/Bridgeton really has no metropolitan part, and is largely country. It seems odd to me that a standard room in ANY chain hotel would surpass this price, but as I usually do, I thought I just caught a good deal. I drove past the hotel 10 times as it is not well marked at all and does not look like a hotel from the outside at all. The parking is across a busier street, and cars using the parking lot behind the building are towed. If you use this entrance, you have to pass huge open dumpsters that smell vile and sit in the hot humid air. But once you walk inside, all you can smell are the effects of humidity. The hotel smells like mold. The room smelled like mold. There was one small air conditioning unit in the corner that was at least 20 years old and did not work effectively. The gentleman working the front desk was unusually aloof, unwelcoming, and abrasive as if he didn't want to be there. The mattress was old, and the décor was date, which does not usually bother me, but paired with the musty smell, it made it stand out how old the comforter, rug, and fixtures are. The only picture I have is of a bug carcass that was clinging to the shower curtain. I did not from hotels.com, so it seems the review I sent from the room did not transmit successfully. So, why didn't I leave? I could not afford any cancellation fees and was too tired from travel to move.

Still bugged

I felt like I was tricked. When I discovered the building that was on the corner, looking like an apartment or business building, was the hotel. I still have no words. Doesn't look like a hotel until you walk inside and then maybe. Rang the bell as the handwritten sign said to. He never came so I called and then someone shows up, telling me to ring bell. I did. Check in with the room number taped to the room card. Take the stairs because I was afraid of the elevator. Definitely smelled like marijuana, which I didn't mind but I can't imagine it being ok for others. The room was gross smelling, old. Food was stuck to the remote. I could see handprints on the headboard, like why isn't that wiped down. Awful smell of cheap air freshener. Window was open right the street. Like an apartment.

Best thing, I could see my car, across the street by the way, the whole night. Oh and the area had good things and quick eats around it. I guess you get what you paid for.

Seriously needs to be renovated and seriously you should post a picture of what it all looks like so nobody gets tricked.

Could of been better

Upon arrival things went smooth until we went up to our prepaid, reserved room. Where we found two queen sized beds as opposed to the king size that was requested. We then went down to the front desk and was informed that there weren't any other rooms despite our reservation for a king size and that we would be given a refund in the morning for the room if we did not want it. Since, we had no other option for the evening, we opted to stay. During our stay we attempted to get the wifi password and discovered that the phone in the room did not work. Also, there was less than a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. These details forced us to return once again to the front desk to inquire about simple things. The clerk passivily said he did not know why the phone did not work and he gave us a roll of toilet paper.
The simple facts that's all this review states.

Poor Room Condition and Rude Mgr

All of the interactions with the manager were very brusque and generally rude and he tended to boss us around. The first room had a water leak from the ceiling so all the carpet was wet and the room really smelled bad. The second room offered was a non-smoking room that was saturated with cigarette smoke. Our money was refunded and we were left with no place to stay.

The hotel is an old building that has been completely & tastefully remodeled. Did see a bug in the room but otherwise very clean. The neighborhood was a little sketchy as some of the guests/renters at the hotel, but overall the stay was well worth the low price.

Shabby place

2 star hotel is exactly that.
No air conditioning in the lobby.
Rooms have window air conditioners that are very loud.
Rooms and the place itself is pretty ran down. Signs of water leaks on the ceiling.
Bathroom vanity is small so there is space for even a toothpaste tube.
They clean rooms but beds covers in mine were very smelly and one had blood stain on it.
I wouldn't bring my children to this place, and I did not. I was not pleased to observe what looked male prostitute leaving through the doors.
If you travel alone on a short budget this place will do.

If cheap is what you want....

Stayed for 1 night with my son for a baseball tournament. At $60, I did not expect much at all, but it was actually a nice, large room. Everything seemed clean (but towels did turn out to be slightly stained and one of my pillows smelled of BO) and the stay was very comfortable. Not the nicest location (but nothing is very nice around Vineland really). 1 block to stores and fast food restaurants. Overall, well worth the $60, and I am glad I didn't spend more for some of the other borderline hotels in the area.

Good for a budget special,but won't pay full price

Have stayed there 5 times in past 4 years. Seems to have degraded over time. Rooms smell musty. A/C was a window type that was off when we came in room. Best to park car across street in lot where there is high visibility and traffic.

don't let outside of building scare you. plain brick building . parking a little ways from front door next to a park area with sketchy people in park. don't leave valuables in car. inside hotel all new, updated nice. no breakfast.
