Lovely pool, hotel exceeded expectations

We had a lobely triple med room overlooking the pool. Service was very good. Hotel exceeded expectations, main pool area is alot better than we thought looks recently renovated. Really ennoyed our stay. Triple room was very spacious and modern. Also memory foam pillows were so comfy!

From the moment we walked into the reception area, we had very positive vibes. The staff on reception were friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely, a very good size and modern with a large balcony. There was a large pool downstairs and we also had access to the Sky Lounge on the roof which we visited for the 3 days during our stay. It was so peaceful being up there and away from everything. Great infinity pool to cool off in and a fabulous bar serving drinks, including amazing cocktails and lovely food. A BIG thank you to Celia who ensured everyone in the Sky Lounge was well looked after. She made our stay very memorable.
This hotel is the best I have stayed in and would highly recommend it.

Not a 5* hotel. The rooms are nice and well cleaned. The Pool View rooms see you staring at dilipidated Hotels that are very close. Breakfast was a disappointment- they say Egg station, eggs cooked to order- instead a pot of scrambled eggs. They fail to utilse the roof bar- only open twice a week. E20 deposit for towels is not 5* behaviour.

God but could be better for the price.

This is a modern hotel towards the end of town and so not near the shops and restaurants of Calella's centre.
The plus:
Big pool and a jacuzzi, big comfy bed, large room (we had chosen the contemporary ones rather than the mediterranean ones) and balcony, good mojitos.
The minus: corridors not very clean, Hotels.com mentions 3 pools but only 1 is free, you have to pay to get to the 2 others, no pool towels provided, all this makes it quite pricey in the end. Finaly, no forthcoming info given on the spa or the beach club ( we realised they had a beach area 3 days into our stay).

Newly renovated, chic design, spacious room with a balcony facing the sea. However, I can still smell the paint in my room, the usual bad smell that you will have in a newly renovated house. I had to open the balcony wide and my room door to let the wind blow and take the smell away. This was the only minus. Breakfast buffet was superb. Lots of variety of everything. I couldn't imagine there was also Cava and dessert served during breakfast !!

Kactus Hotel - Lovely

We stayed in a pool view Mediterranean Room this room 511 main view was of the roof.
Lovely room comfortable bed very good shower.
Full board could not fault all 3 meals did seem slightly better hot food selection at lunch rather than dinner
Restaurant staff all lovely especially the two ladies greeting guests
The gym seemed adequate for a hotel
The Spa would have been nicer if there were maybe a staff member and towels or gowns in the area also no lockers for your belongings. Pool was small but ok the steam room was very good the sauna we did not try also 2 types of shower one didn’t seem to be working.
The outdoor pool area was lovely pool was cold but it was late September nice to have the hot tub.
All said a lovely clean Comfortable hotel good food and nice outdoor area

I stayed with my 10 year old daughter for 3 nights, it was perfect. Our room was lovely, recently refurbished and very calming, it was also very clean. We had a lovely balcony and pool view, we could also glimpse the sea from the balcony.
Breakfast was a feast to behold, you name it and it was probably on offer!
The outdoor pool area was lovely, an oasis and the staff at the pool bar were very friendly. We ate tapas there one evening and it was really good.

BUMPED US OUT to sister hotel down road!

Upon check in, front desk manager said that I have a problem! ( May be lost in translation, as Spanish) . No rooms available. No electricity or water in my room. What room? I haven't even checked in. Given no option but to go to sister hotel, Volga, which was supposedly an upgrade to 4 star from 3 star. I feel that customers booked with 3rd party vendors like Expedia, were being \"ewalked\" to other hotel on regular basis, so suggest Expedia review relationship with this property. We chose Kaktus playa as it appeared modern, younger and centrally located and highly rated on Expedia. Hotel Volga was locked in a 70's time warp, predominantly ( 80% russian. per front desk ), weak evening entertainment of second rate russian dancers. Front desk assistant helpful, but, about 30 minutes of staff arguing and glancing looks and arm raising as if to say why are they here. Just generally poor customer service. Pool not heated. Food o.k. Supposedly they own beach club and have 15% discount there. Unfortunately they don't know about this. One day would't give, next day 5%, then, 10%, then 10% on food only. ( yes, the bill went back 3 times). Free kayaking at beach offered. when used, only between 11am and 1pm, then, wind too high, then waves too rough. Seemed like constant upsell to sailing or windsurfing with instructor etc. Overall, a painful, argumentative environment I would not recommend if going for relaxing time at beach.

Good, clean and Friendly.

Very clean and friendly hotel. The staff were very helpful most of them spoke good English. The bar staff were very attentive and remembered what you order after the first day. The Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were very good but the pool is very cold. The parking was very good and secure for 10 euros a day.

overall impression of hotel

The hotel was very clean and well maintained, however the breakfast was not impressive and the evening meal menu wasn't suitable unless you are a big fan of fish. Hotel was very quiet but expected that at this time of yr. Cleaning staff were so efficient that we were woken at 8am two mornings by the staff not impressed with that. Pool area indoors and outdoors were lovely. Shopping in Calella was brilliant, makes everything in Ireland so expensive.

Wir waren im Oktober 13 Tage vor Ort und hatten lediglich das Frühstück inkludiert: Zunächst das Positive: Das Hotel ist äußerst modern und sauber. Wir haben uns in den Zimmern durchweg wohl gefühlt. Hier und da könnte es vielleicht eine Steckdose oder einen Kleiderhaken mehr geben, aber das möchte ich gar nicht auf die Goldwaage legen. Das Reinigungspersonal ist äußerst freundlich gewesen und seinen Job wirklich ernst genommen. Top!
Beim Service im Allgemeinen könnte allerdings noch nachgesteuert werden. Vielleicht lag es daran, dass wir außerhalb der Saison da waren, aber sowohl beim Frühstück als auch am Pool blieb benutztes Geschirr leider sehr lang ungeachtet vom Personal stehen. Das war auch keine Momentaufnahme, sondern zog sich die vollen zwei Wochen so durch. Beim Frühstück wurde vieles nicht aufgefüllt oder nicht gesehen, bspw. Mineralwasser, sauberes Geschirr und Speisen im Allgemeinen. Alles Dinge über die man hinwegsehen könnte, aber wer mit 5 Sternen wirbt, muss meiner Meinung nach auch 5 Sterne liefern. Sport und Wellness-Fans werden enttäuscht werden. Das mit inbegriffene Fitnessstudio reicht für Cardiotraining und das ist auch in Ordnung so, weil nicht mehr versprochen wird. Wirklich sauber sind die Geräte jedoch nicht. Der Wellness-Bereich ist für 10 EUR pro Person pro Stunde! dann allerdings der Gipfel der Enttäuschung. Der Preis ist leider völlig überzogen. Das Hotel lässt sich Allgemeinen viel extra berechnen und wird 5 Sternen meistens nicht gerecht.

Veldig fint og rent hotell. Var der en uke og det var fantastisk! Rommet var fint og rent. Frokosten var god, men ganske dyr. Kostet også penger å være på skyloungen, så ble kun stranda på oss. Likevel er det absolutt verdt å ta turen hit!

Piscine rooftop payante.

Très bel hôtel, moderne et rénové. Nous avions choisi cet hôtel après avoir vue les photos de la piscine rooftop qui semblait incroyable. Très déçu à l’arrivée de se voir refusé l’accès à cette piscine. Elle est payante et très chère: 20 euros par personne et par jour. Un scandale que ce ne soit pas écrit sur le site Hôtels.com. C’est même l’inverse, c’était indiqué « l’accès est compris dans les frais de l’établissement ». Même en montrant cette mention sur mon téléphone, l’accueil nous refuse l’accès. Très décevant. Elle n’est gratuite pour les suites.

Parkmöglichkeiten in Umgebung schlecht und im Hotel nur gegen Aufpreis möglich. Auch die Nutzung der Dachterasse nur gegen Aufpreis möglich. Der Aufpreis war meiner Meinung nach übertrieben teuer und die Dachterasse sollte zumindestens im Hotelpreis enthalten sein

On a adoré notre séjour au Kaktus hotel. La chambre était agréable, moderne et très propre. La nourriture du buffet est délicieuse et le petit-déjeuner est très complet. Et surtout, le staff est super ! Tout le personnel que nous avons croisé était adorable. Un grand merci tout particulièrement à Leli pour son accueil, nous nous sommes sentis en famille. On se demande déjà quand est-ce que nous reviendrons !

Hôtel rénové,transfert compliqué et arrivé dans la chambre avec une inondation.
Réactivité de l’hôtel avec quelques avantages car bcp de choses sont payantes.
Bonne restauration.

Voor een adults-only-recommended hotel zijn er behoorlijk veel kinderen aanwezig. Een rust moment als koppel was aan het zwembad niet mogelijk. Het zwembad zat vol kleine en iets grotere kinderen die constant voorbij de zetels liepen. Bovendien waren er ook véél te weinig comfortabele zetels aan het zwembad waardoor de gewone loungezetels ook als ligzetel werden gebruikt. Het was dus als koppel totaal geen rustvakantie...Bovendien is het hout omheen het zwembad volledig gebombeerd waardoor het heel onveilig is.

Très bon hôtel surtout pour la qualité des repas!

Très bel hôtel déjà fréquenté il y a 3 ans. Salle de restaurant rénovée depuis. TB. TB repas. Les seuls soucis sont manque d'isolation aussi bien au niveau des couloirs que des fenêtres donnant sur la rue et le propreté des transats autour de la piscine. Très sales. Sinon pour le reste parfait.
