The front desk clerk didn't make a good impression on us. We had booked two single beds, but she told us that there were only double beds available and that the hotel was fully booked. We complained and demanded what we had booked. All she had to do was pull apart the two single beds that made up the double bed. She did it reluctantly and didn’t even look at us, because she was upset with us.

Perfectly suitable travel stop

It’s a standard and perfectly acceptable budget hotel. The place was clean, staff were friendly, it was safe and car park was well lit and in front of the hotel. Set back enough form the road to be fairly quite. Breakfast was normal continental but did have bacon and eggs, not special but adequate and good value. Fast food nearby and a short drive into town, just note not much open on Mondays nights.

My wife and I stayed for one night, en route from Italy to the ferry at Calais.
The hotel is easy to find, it's very new and is situated about a mile from Verdun city centre. The car park was huge and, theoretically, protected by an electic gate. (In practice the gate was left open all night.)
If you wished you could buy breakfast and, at other times of the day there are self service snacks / drinks machines.
The hotel room was very clean and of a decent size. It had an en-suite shower room and a comfortable bed.
All in all, the B&B Hotel was ideal for our over-night requirements.

The check in was stressful. We were checking in same time as another couple who also couldn't check in.
Sent email code which didn't work.
Booking details when entered were not recognised. Door codes did not work.
When we called helpline were given completely different codes! Not great when you've been on road all day and just want to get in your room.
Room was ok. Had to ask for another pillow.
Shower was amazing though.
Had a microwave which was convenient.
Location was convenient for Verdun. Half hour walk into town.

Not the best of B&B Hotels

Self check-in was overly complicated! Had to resort to calling the helpline to assist. We were allocated room 308 on the third floor. No lift and having to haul our heavy bags up several flights of stairs was not what we wanted after a long journey. The room was really disappointing. Very low ceiling which we found very difficult to avoid, being tall. The bathroom had a disgusting smell and we had to plug the sink and shower with towels. Definitely a drainage problem. The room itself was not clean with cobwebs visible.
On the plus side, parking for our motorcycle was good and free. We did not opt for breakfast so cannot comment on this.
All in all not the best B&B we have stayed in. We don’t understand why we were allocated a room with three beds when we booked a double room. We also must have been one of the first to check in yet we were given probably one of the worst rooms in the hotel!

Staff was really polite and friendly and helpful. Were do i start with the room 202 mould on the ceilings and a terrible smell all the time. I have stayed in this hotel before and was so pleased with the room breakfast is very good lots of choice. BB verdun if there's a problem with the room like mould, then do not put people in there to sleep.

This is a sparse, no nonsense stay. The staff were polite. Could do with a tv that has an option to see/hear Rnhlish, eithet as simply subtitles or conversion to the original language.
I am glad I drove into Verdun, it is a beautiful and a historic place and with a lot of lovely restaurants.

Affordable hotel in Verdun, very easy self check in. Clean and spacious room, nice breakfast. Good value for money. Plenty of car parking onsite and Buffalo Grill next door plus other dining options in walking distance. Great for a stopover.

After a little bit of hassle checking in, as it was all done by a screen in the lobby which didn’t allow us to pay so had to contact the main office. The reception staff were there after 1700 for a few hours to answer any of our questions.
The rooms were clean but very basic.
The breakfast was simple but very adequate to set us up for the day.

Not a bad hotel, when it is staffed.

When we arrived, there was no staff. They had an automated check-in process. Six of us stood with the outer door open in the rain. I had problem with the check in and a voice on the other end of the call box recited my room number and entry code to the entire group of waiting people. None of the vending machines worked. The motion sensing lights had a couple of second delay which worried my wife about stepping into a dark hallway. The reason I gave 3 stars is because the lady who did work the desk sometimes was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was pretty good for this kind of hotel.

A great pit stop for us to visit the WW1 sights on our way South. Easy parking, great location walkable to Verdun centre. Friendly staff, big clean family room, warm shower and generous all you can eat breakfast. Only thing that could have been better would be kettle and tea/coffee in room

For a 2-star property, I give B&B Hotel Verdun 5 stars. It is a basic hotel, but a good stop for seeing the area, the battlefields and forts. The staff is very nice.
FYI, there are stairs, no elevator.
The rooms are not large, but they work for a 1-night stay.
Breakfast was pastries, granola, yogurt, beans, mushrooms, toast. Juice, coffee, etc. Definitely good for a quick breakfast.
This hotel is outside of the city center, but it does have several restaurants in walking distance. We walked right next door to the Buffalo Grill for dinner, and were very pleasantly surprised. We are Americans, and it was our first time eating \"American food\"in Europe. It gave us a good laugh, we had a great dinner, and it was nice to have this option so close to the hotel.

Not what we expected (not for us)

This hotel was self check in. Needed to get a code (this was access to the front door and your room) after putting a credit card in at the door entrance.
We were expecting a staffed reception.

Of note, there is no lift in the building.
We were on the 3rd (top) floor and after a long day riding our motorcycle, we struggled to carry all of our \"gear\" up the stairs.

Another unexpected omission was a kettle.
I must have missed that there was no kettle provided when I booked.

The room was very basic, but the bed was comfortable.

The breakfast was ok, continental with some cooked bacon and scrambled eggs.
Neither of which was cooked to our liking.

This hotel seemed more like a back-packer type place (to me) but was not priced accordingly. Basically, expensive for what it was.

There was a restaurant (chain) not too far away but it seems a little out of town and as such not a lot around. Otherwise for a drink, it's a vending machine.

We would not use this chain again.

I do not like writing negative reviews, but we would not stay here again. We prepaid for 2 rooms and breakfast through Expedia, and we received confirmations the day before we arrived. However, when we got there, the hotel only had one reservation, so we had to pay for yet another room. They also would not honor the prepaid breakfast and required additional payment. It has been several days and we still haven’t received a refund for the prepaid reservation that the hotel refused to honor. In terms of the actual room, they are very basic. One of our rooms was reasonably clean, but the other was not clean. We would not suggest others risk staying here, especially if you book through Expedia.

Petit bémol sur le petit déjeuner. Manque de choix surtout en point chaud.
Et tout en mini doses beurre, Nutella, compotes yaourts, pourquoi ne pas mettre une motte de beurre, un pot de pâte à tartiner, un saladier de yaourts, de compote et les gens se servent, comme dans d’autres chaînes. Cela évite un nombre impressionnant de déchets du aux emballages.

Zimmer war sauber und zweckmäßig.
Beim Einchecken war kein Personal vorhanden. Sehr schwierig am Terminal einzuchecken. Ging nur mit mehrmaligem Anrufen. Dann war auch das Kartenterminal zum Bezahlen defekt. Gottseidank sprachen die Leute vom Callcenter ausreichend Englisch und die Bezahlung konnte das dann per Kreditkarte und Handy geregelt werden.
Wie allerdings ein Fön an der Rezeption erhältlich sein soll, wenn diese nicht besetzt ist, ist mir ein Rätsel.
Dass kein Aufzug vorhanden war, hatte ich in der Website nicht erkannt.
Personal beim Frühstücken war aber sehr nett. Und das Frühstück erstaunlich gut für den Preis.

Einmal genügt für uns

Es war uns bewusst, dass es ein sehr günstiges Hotel ist, trotzdem hätten wir für den Preis mehr erwartet. Beim Check-In am Automaten benötigten wir Hilfe, die wir auch prompt erhalten haben. Unser Zimmer im 3. Stock hatte viel Dachschräge und es gibt keinen Lift. Im Zimmer gibt es nur das Allernötigste z.B. nur ein Badetuch keine weitere Frotteewäsche und keinen Haartrockner. Dafür gab es Spinnweben im Bad. Das Frühstück für EUR 9.50 ist für das Gebotene am oberen Limit. Für die Zukunft zahlen wir lieber wieder etwas mehr für ein Hotel.

Chambre correspondant à nos attentes. Douche étroite mais eau bien chaude, le jet d'eau ne va pas trop en avant, il faut se coller au robinet. Sinon très bien pour nous dans l'ensemble. Seul bémol, pas de bouilloire pour se faire du thé ou un café, il faut forcément descendre à la machine.
