Our room had an amazing view of the cute, old town and the mountains.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful.
The bathroom and toilet were outside the room, and we were provided with keys. It was actually quite nice not having them in the room.
It is located in the old town, very close to the Christmas market along the canal. We really enjoyed our stay during Christmas.

I may have been a bit grumpy on arrival as I had taken an overnight bus and only dozed in 24 hours. Neverthe less the staff was not unfriendly but not warm and welcoming either. The door requires a code which I didn’t know so I went to the family door. I was told « there is a button » when I checked in I asked for the WiFi pwd, she pointed to a sign that said it’s on the back of the door. I guess I’m not very observant! The WiFi only works intermittently. I had to turn it off to access the app for my departure details. Good thing I had an e sim.
The location was great with respect to to the old town and the lake but keep in mind it’s up a steep hill. I’m in decent shape but a lot of people were huffing to get up to see the chateau. Rooms are small even by European standards but clean. Breakfast is simple no hot items. I ate there once and out the rest not sure it’s worth the 11E there is a nice terrace to eat at or have a drink. Too bad weather wasn’t conducive, it looked nice! Finally the room key is on a heavy fob assuming so it doesn’t get stolen. You are asked to leave it on a hook in the lobby when you go out but even though the door has a code to get in anyone with access to the lobby can grab any key. On the dense if I’d recommend it. Just know before you go

I liked the location at the top of a hilll. The view from our window was over the town.
I did not like the noise at night from a crowed of people who gathered seemingly under our windowl However the noise stopped by eleven in the evening and the rest of the night was quiet.
I had agreed to the room having the shower and toilet across the hall. And I knew that the hotel was not air conditiioned. So I can not complain about these.

We were very disappointed with our stay in this hotel. We could not drive up to the entrance and had a difficult time dragging heavy luggage uphill on a cobblestone road. The staff could not offer any assistance. The room was very small, no A/C and no window screens. The bathroom was not well designed and the room flooded while taking a shower. The hill, cobblestone roads and the lack of service made it very difficult

Gorgeous view from our room! While it's a bit of a hill to get to the hotel, it's a short walk down to the shopping, restaurants, and the lake. It rained quite a bit when we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy it, but there's a great deck that would be wonderful for a picnic. Loved our stay here!

The location to the Old Town part of ANNECY is the best! It's at the top of a hill right above all the restaurants and shops.
The room we had was cute and quaint. Be careful of the steep stairs though. The staff were fairly nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Amélie and her husband were so helpful and friendly! Coming to the property you have to go through \"terminal\" that are posts that block your way. There is a call button to get the posts lowered, and we had trouble finding that. Everything else was fine. Due to my bad back, the flights of stairs were tough. I wish there was a lift. But everything was so clean and the town of Annecy is so beautiful! Great hotel!

Great location but it was a shame that the room was so small, it really should be a single bedroom. Lovely man at reception who was very welcoming and helpful. Really close to the old town amenities. Good for a couple of nights but any longer you would need more space. The walls were paper think and we got woken in the night by people coming in late. There was also a room nearby where their bathroom was across the hallway and spare to the room. So we were woken up in the night a few times when they went to the toilet. Sheets had some stains on and room needed a lick of paint. Cushions not particularly comfy but that's personal preference. Shame about size of room.

Good location near the old city. Lovely outdoor deck area for breakfast or drinks. Hotel dog is a character.
Breakfast was disappointing.
Staff were quite friendly but there was no effort to give any extra assistance eg bags.
The hotel seems to rely on its location and a constant supply of new tourists rather than providing a memorable and positive experience.

Convenient place to stay in Annecy

Hôtel du Château Annecy is in a terrific location, just up the hill from the old town but not right in the thick of the touristy area. We were able to walk from the train station in about 12 or 15 minutes and walk from the hotel to restaurants in 3-5 minutes. We had a great view from our room. Breakfast (for an additional 11 euro per person) was good — fresh croissants, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal. Apples and oranges served were out of season and not tasty. The staff were efficient and businesslike but not particularly friendly or engaging. I’d recommend the hotel for the price and location but it’s not amazing.

When I read the reviews that the walls were paper thin I did not take it seriously, but you should. Thumping up and down the stairs all night, tourists talking outside and the person over us did not make a good nights sleep. Bed was tiny and bathroom was ridiculously small.

It was a delightful little hotel with beautiful views. We needed room for 3 adults and though it was small, it worked well. Beautifully decorated with paintings/prints and colorful paint on the walls. My only complaint was that it needed some blackout or more opaque curtains because a lot of light streamed into the room at night. We enjoyed our stay.

Fab weekend getaway in city center

This family hotel is really well located. The staff are friendly. The beds are quite small (140m ) by Anglo Saxon standards but the mattress is of a good quality and the room even had a kettle (rare in France). The continental breakfast was copious. There are dogs and a cat so be wary if you have allergies. I would go back again!

This is the place to stay for location! It is within comfortable walking distance of everything! Parking is very limited, I’m not sure where you would park if it were full. We got the last spot when we arrived and it was not a super busy time. I would call the hotel to confirm. Breakfast was identical to an airport hotel we stayed at on this trip. Very basic, only protein was one choice of deli meat, and yogurt. The only exception to the “ weird this hotel serves the same thing as the airport hotel, isn’t it” was the coffee. It was “cowboy cofffee” you know the kind, where you take the grounds out when the spoon stands up on its own! I love a good strong cup of cofffee, but there was no saving this coffee. Perfect place for location, not perfect for coffee.

My Husband and I really enjoyed our stay, everyone was very helpful and friendly from check in until we left.Our room was clean, spacious with a wonderful view over the old town. It is a short walk into the middle of the old town which surprisingly was open on a Sunday night, we had an amazing dinner at one of the recommended local restaurants.the breakfast wasn't the best I've had but was substantial and tasty and very reasonably priced. The only negative I had was that we were only there for 1 night I would have loved to spend some more time in Annecy.

Lovely family run hotel right next to the castle. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are small and the walls very thin indeed. Probably best to whistle, or turn the TV up loud when using the loo!
Breakfast was good...range of pastries, cereals, bread, hams, cheeses, etc. Tasty coffee.
Perfect place for visiting Annecy.

The view from room 23 is amazing. The cleaner only cleaned the room twice during a six day stay. The curtains don't block the sun in the morning, and if you sleep late the hotel is less comfortable and your room wont be cleaned. Also the fire alarm sounded in the middle of the night. Aside from this, the owners were friendly, and nice people and we did enjoy our stay in Annecy. If the room was cleaned regularly, it would have been a perfect hotel experience.

The hotel was quite nice overall, though the parking situation definitely left something to be desired. As others commented, there is room for 5 cars in a tiny lot next to the hotel, and if that's full you have to park in a public lot nearby. The hotel will pay for overnight parking in these lots but not during the day.
Nothing was particularly soundproof, but the room was comfortable. The breakfast was quite nice, the two resident cats were cute, and it was overall an enjoyable place to stay.

A classic view in a classy hotel

The hotel was immaculate and in a very beautiful part of town. I had an exceptional view of the town and the mountains from my bedroom window. My room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The little breakfast room and the breakfast was charming. The hotel is on the hill right next to the Château and requires some walking but it was very very lovely.

Fantastic location - just up the hill from the old town - walking distance to everything, Room was fine and had a great view of the town.
Front desk was pleasant, if a bit cool.
Cons:
Very small room and bathroom.
Had to either carry the large key with you or leave it on a hook in the small lobby.
Front desk is only open from like 9 to 7.
Fairly noisy in the hallways and stairways.
All in all, a pleasant stay and we would return

We spotted this hotel last year by noticing the friendly black cat lounging out on top of a parked car, and the outdoor terrace above the parking lot. This prompted us to write down the name of your hotel. We were delighted with the location, and the owner was very helpful in procuring a parking spot in the space next to the hotel. The view from our window was wonderful. We will return.

Excellent location, two minute walk to old town, ten minutes to lake or shopping centres. The hotel is at the top of a steep cobbled hill, so no good for those with walking difficulties, or high heels. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Hotel is basic, no frills, room was clean and warm, adequate rather than luxurious. Not expensive so you get what you pay for. Continental, buffet Breakfast was plentiful and offered a good choice. Would stay here again.

Very hard to find with a car, need to get bollards taken down to access. We had to ring for directions. Once in only 2 minutes walk to old town.rooms very small and no where to put suit cases room too hot (as seems to be the way in Europe) but able to open window. Limited car parking so be early!

I was in Annecy primarily to take photographs and this hotel was ideal to be a base from which to explore the city. It is fairly basic but if you aren't going to spend all day in your room then there really isn't much more that you would need. There is free wifi in the hotel which is pretty quick and you can get a pretty good continental breakfast for 8 Euro.

The hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill very close to the chateau and in the heart of the old town in Annecy.

The room had everything I needed. The Hotel is in a good location a short 2 minute walk to the main old town with its beautiful buildings. The boat jetty where the lake cruises leave from and the park are close by too. You are able to walk and go shopping and return to the Hotel to drop off your purchases and use the bathroom and head out again.The Chateau /museum is next door so there is no excuse not to visit it. The Hotel breakfast offers a lot of choices. I left by train and it was about an 10minute walk to the train station. I would stay there again.

Excellent hotel

The family running the hotel are super friendly and helpful. They provided me with whatever that I needed. The rooms did not have many plug points, so the gave me a multi-plug extension. They also provided me with a iron and ironing board. The rooms were a little bit cramped and small but not a problem if you don't plan to spend too much time in the room. The hotel was in old town and great for travelers. This hotel is very charming given the fact that it is run by a family.
