We are over 70 and we did not have a bathroom in our room. I may have read this, but I don’t recall reading it. We would not have rented this room if I’d known it didn’t have a bathroom in the room. Luckily, the room we would have shared the bathroom with was not occupied, but we still had to go out of our room, utilize the bathroom. Remember the code to get back in our bedroom a couple of times a night. Also, the stairs going up to the room, and all rooms are located on the second floor, are very narrow and a bit dangerous for older people. But, even though the room was very old, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

My wife and I came for a visit on the Amtrak train to the town of Hinton West Virginia. Stephinie was a very helpful point of contact. The property was beautiful. The Allmans were very helpful and generous. We loved Hinton WV. Everything we did was within walking distance of the train station. We are already planning our next visit.

While our comfort and experience with Townhouse 213 was closer to a 3 (and a one if you include all the perilous stairs), we have massive respect and esteem for Vickie, who was the point person. She is outstanding at her job. She was receptive to the ideas (long text lists from daughter) that we made for improving the 213 so it can shine like we know it can. We can tell the effort put in to rehabing the house. What we will say so that others can be aware of what we weren't
1)there are stairs from the street to get down to the sidewalk and the slippy concrete stairs up to porch and then perilous,steep stairs up to second floor.
2) you can take suitcases around stairs from street, but you have to roll yr suitcase down to where the main guesthouse is.
3) the stairs are not un-steep, and when we were there, no lighting, so the family slept in the two beds and left lights on in bathroom and down hall to spare us from tumbling down stairs during night
4) the good television is in the big bedroom, but still non-standard channels throughout.
5) if you want breakfast, bring your own.
6) the market down the street has really good food (try the pizza), but closes wicked early, esp on sunday.
7) vickie is the best. she made our stay so, so much better.

You will love it!

My husband has never allowed me to book a room outside of a name brand hotel. I did not tell him I booked here until we were on our way and he was a bit irritated with me. He absolutely loved this Guest House and Room.(I did too) It was exactly as the photos showed and we will be back! Vicki our hostess was beyond helpful and we highly recommend the Market on Courthouse Square for a meal. Hinton, WVA is charming we loved it.

An amazing place to stay. This is a wonderful historic home on a quiet street. The house is well maintained and comfortable. The kitchen was nicely stocked with water, juice, coffee, milk and cereal. They put a quiche in the fridge for us. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautifully restored home in the heart of downton Hinton. Wonderful quiche breakfast is supplied daily in the refrigerator. This is a non-hosted BnB, meaning there are no owners at the house, but food and snacks are supplied. Great bed, wonderful jacuzzi tub, quiet A/C. We were the only guests in the entire house, so that was pretty fun!

It felt as if we were the first guests to occupy the townhouse. Very nicely appointed. We could have used a couple more luggage racks and the upstairs bathroom would benefit from a small table for personal belongings, a couple of wall hooks and a towel bar by the shower—all small adjustments. Overall it was great.

I arrived to a sink full of dirty dishes in the kitchen and a minuscule bedroom. I knew that the bedroom had a shared bathroom, but the bathroom door did not close and lock easily so that was a problem. Breakfast (still a sink full of dirty dishes and one clean cup) was a dozen eggs in the carton, two yogurts, margarine, various juices, dry “kid” cereals and oatmeal packets. I was told by text to heat up what I wanted.

Centrally Located and Friendly People

Property managers were amazingly friendly. Nice, large property centrally located to many attractions such as Sandstone Falls, Pipestem and Bluestone Lake. There's a restaurant around the corner, on the same block, with AMAZING food. So convenient!!
The house is a historical home with matching finishes but we were comfortable and truly enjoyed our stay.

Last day of a long weekend in WV we were delighted with the accommodations. Because of the holiday weekend and COVID-19, there was a glitch with our no-contact breakfast, but our (virtual) host, Vickie, came up with a great work around. Thanks!

Except for some street noise, absolutely perfect. Five stars.

Historic, Lovely and Warm.

The accommodations were lovely. The staff provided a COVID-19 style reception by text instead of face-to-face, and it worked perfectly! The 2-bedroom townhouse was charming, retaining it's classic original design and furnishing (a few compromises: internet, plenty of towels and modern kitchen appliances). Our travels only allowed one short night, but we plan on returning for a longer stay next time. We strongly recommend the Guest House Inn on Courthouse Square.

Winterplace skiing

We booked this property for a family of 5, for a last minute ski trip at Winterplace Ski Resort. Overall we liked the property, it was very clean, plenty of room. The town is cute, although we didn’t spend much time there.

There was a lack of information in regards to the check in process. I prefer to have the address, door codes, etc prior to arrival. Other than that, we had no complaints, and really enjoyed our ski trip. It’s a bit of a drive to Winterplace, but was worth it to have a clean and roomy townhouse.

Morning hunger!!!!

Our stay at the house was great however when we checked in we were told that breakfast would be delivered before morning but no breakfast arrived. When we left we were not told what to do with the keys and we did not feel comfortable leaving the door unlocked, we tried to call but no answer so we handled another way and when we were contracted they said our choice was okay. It was awful having cereal and oatmeal and no milk. Maybe we could get a refund for the breakfast that was included since we received none

Stayed during week for business. The Guest House is a great gem for the town. Their properties are well put together, very clean, staff very attentive. Bed linens really stood out great as very comfortable. I don't sleep well on the road, but this was a nice treat.
