Disappointed that the indoor pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance, but the grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed breakfast. We don’t play golf but we did enjoy the sauna and disc golf course. Not too far from the National Park, and enjoyed seeing the deer daily. There’s one restaurant that doesn’t require a dress code and it was a long wait, so ended up eating outside the property.

There are so many activities to do inside the resort gates. I felt comfortable letting my younger teen kids explore using the shuttle or walking to the areas on their own. We loved the Pool, Leisure Center, sport courts, or just walking the golf courses trails to relax. Very clean, safe, and friendly. Restaurant and Hotel Breakfast meals were great. The hotel itself was obviously built a while ago and there are hints of the age but most of the hotel has been remodeled or well maintained. Small building maintenance would be my only criticism of the Main Hotel.

Once upon a time I am sure this place was really nice. We stayed for a golf event, otherwise I would not stay here. We stayed in the executive suite area. The room was outdated and the pullout couch was very worn, torn, broken and uncomfortable. Our smoke alarm battery was old, so it was beeping. The buildings in general could use some upkeep. The room was very overpriced.

I have been going to Glade Springs for at least 20 years on my many trips from our home in Michigan to our beach house in SC. The amenities at this resort are great! Beautiful golf courses which make terrific places to stretch your legs after a long drive, a great bar/restaurant for an easy dinner, both indoor and outdoor pools if you have kids with you, plus lots of other activities and amenities. The problem I have have with Glade Springs is that they have not updated their rooms in about the same amount of time. We usually stay in a pet friendly Executive Suite, and I think the same stains I noticed on the couch have been there for the last 10 years. The wall paper is starting to peel, the TV's are ancient, the bath room needs an update (or at least re-glazing the tub), and the carpets need a good cleaning. This resort has so much potential, a little elbow grease and some new furniture would go a long way!

The room was dirty, old, poorly decorated, just felt gross. I even asked for newly updated room and she gave it to me. We were asked to leave the gym and facilities that we had planned to use because it was \"peak time\" for other homeowner guests in the association and hotel did not rectify it. Someone complained me and my family were \"too loud\" at like 7pm while we were playing cards and laughing (walls too thin maybe?). Hotel did not serve breakfast the third day w/out notice, housekeeping only cleaned once out of 3 days. I would NOT stay here again, ski lift was still 20 min drive.

The room was a great set up with the seperate bedroom for adults and the kids sleep on the couch. However, the couch was not comfortable for them. The shower drain was broken so water drained slowly and the water pressure sucked. The Bunker's food quality declined quite a bit since last year. Great location for Winterplace, but don't expect good food.

Most uncomfortable beds. Hair dryer didn't work, and first replacement didn't work either; but did finally get me a working hair dryer. I was told that hotel would charge me an additional mandatory fee of $65.11, but hotel charged $117.40; and I am having issues getting the difference credited back to my account. Only one restaurant was open the evening that we arrived, but that had hardly no wait staff. The hostess took our order, but it was over an hour before we received any food. The guests that arrived after us were turned away; even though the restaurant wasn't scheduled to close for 3 more hours. I well NEVER stay here again.

As others have stated, the place needs a refresh. The inn rooms were good, but the executive suites were rough. The resort amenities did not reflect the cost for the resort fees (taxes and fees for two nights totaled $140). Half of the bowling lanes were not operational, basketballs were threadbare, ping-pong tables were warped, service was super slow at the Bunkers sports bar (over an hour waiting for food) and the food was not great. The location is convenient for skiing and the inn rooms were comfortable. Having breakfast included was a plus. However, I will likely not return unless the quality improves substantially.

There were two people who checked us in and they were absolutely wonderful. Expedia and this resort needs to get on the same page. Expedia allowed me to book a room that was apparently not dog friendly, but on Expedia it states that it was. However, the front desk people were very considerate and called their manager and they allowed me to stay.

I do know what all their plans for the weekend are though because that seemed to be their focus first then the customers. We will be back to give it another try. The staff was exceptional. All, the servers, lifeguards, shuttle driver, front desk staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and were very friendly. Amenities were numerous, indoor and outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor tennis and pickle ball, bowling alley, golf courses and more. Large, walkable, grounds. The property was a bit run down though and our room was very dark.

The service provided by the front desk staff was great. The resort itself in its entirety is beautiful and has everything you could want. I was put in the Executive Suite bungalows. They were conveniently located right next to main hotel, and were quiet and had plenty of parking right next to my room, but they were severely outdated. I saw housekeeping come through every day, but when the carpet, bathroom sink and tiles are stained from age, and the wallpaper is starting to peel, it just doesn’t feel clean, you know? The bed was very comfy, though! My overall rating is, meh.

Pros: The resort property is vast and beautifully scenic, perfect for leisurely walks amidst the snow. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Delicious and convenient breakfast. Curtains in the room do not cover the windows. There are not enough panels and they are the wrong type for the rods. No desk as there was before. The fold out couch that is supposed to sleep 2 has been replaced with something of such low quality that even the dollar store would not carry. A coffee table that looks like the Goodwill threw out.
Hand rails are loose and dangerous, steps in need of replacement, staff that do not know what rooms are accessible, and an accessible ROCKY toilet. Requested accessible, was offered access with steps with csr saying, \" its just a few steps\". Wow! Just Wow! Despite saying repeatedly what rooms are accessible and that we have stayed multiple times, CSR ignored me and started making calls to get info and then going on and on about times, offerings, etc. Yhey have a brochure for guests with all info - just give us the print up and listen to the customer. Management has evidently chaned or is non-existent - the place has seriously fallen in quality.

Our stay @ GSR was for my teen daughter's b-day girls' trip. The property seems to be struggling with adequate staffing (eg, our check-in time was delayed by nearly 2 hrs due to shortage of cleaners) and there were some dated on-site amenities; however, the management went above & beyond to compensate for such shortcomings. Their hospitality more than made up for it!

The resort is great. We came to ski at Winterplace and stayed here for 5 days. It is just 15 min away from the slopes. In case the snow conditions are not good there are many options for activities at the leisure center: movies, bowling, swimming, tennis, basketball, lazer tag, gym.
Accommodations at the Inn are very specious. Breakfast provided gives enough varieties. Matthew, the front desk manager, and Mr. Tom at the leasure center were extremely kind. Food at the sports bar is also surprisingly good. Portions are quite large.
We had a lot of fun and we will definitely be back.

Family Christmas in WV. We live in GA but from the southern WV area. We love this resort and love the recreation center as well as the great Breakfast. We hope to come back in the summer sometime and enjoy the warm weather amenities.
