Hotels.com had the place rated at 8.6, Excellent. This place was not that place. At least it was under $80. It is a circa 1960-1970s two story motel common for that time. Pros - friendly staff, hot water, good shower pressure. Cons - physical condition of the property. The steps were grated metal plates secured on each side. A couple were a little loose, shifting when you stepped on them. There were little silver hooks at the top and bottom that could grab at you, particularly if you fell. The side rails were old lumber, rough and hard to hold, felt like you would find a splinter. The most unsafe part was the top face board was loose, only held on by a failing strip of carpet. Other than these safety issues, the room had the normal problems of that era: repairs around the bathroom, limited plugs and lighting. Price was decent and matched the condition, except for the safety issues. Rating should have been in about a 6, definitely not 8.6.

I was on the first floor corner. Lake view. Very quiet. Lights switches are weird. Hard to find, no light switch when you first walk in. Have to use lamps in the dark. Clean. Parking is bad for back rooms. Breakfast sucks. Not good coffee and no fruit or anything just sugary junk. All in all i would stay again if in the area even though It's not what I'm used to, but the people were nice and I had my privacy.

Ac and heat were excellent. Room was a super value. We ended up eating at the restaurant which exceeded expectations. I would definately stay here again. Not a four star but a 9 out of 10 for a two star. Have the salmon at the restaurant. Frozen but not overcooked. I am a fish snob so I hope for the best.

Booked here for two nights because of decent reviews, but this is like a typical trucker’s stop - cheap laminate uneven floors, squeeks from upstairs, holes in shower tub, cheap and unmatching furniture and lighting. No breakfast served. Overall, they havent kept up with the rest of the world.

This could have possibly been an amazing getaway if it was at a different Day of the week. Unfortunately it was like a blizzard when we got there with snow already on the ground from the night before. Since the reviews said it had a wonderful view and scenic area, as well as an indoor fireplace in the lobby, and a bar restaurant we figured how could we go wrong. Upon arrival we found the restaurant and bar were closed on Sundays and Mondays so that was a letdown. It was a Monday and we were driving back to Pittsburgh from Miami and we were looking forward to a fun evening. Not a big deal though, we had a bottle of rum and vodka in the vehicle from our vacation that we had purchased at the duty free shop on the ship. So I asked where we can get ice and she said they don't have ice buckets but we can go down to the gas station and buy ice. We figured not a big deal, since the restaurant was closed anyway, we would go down to the gas station where there's a godfather's Pizza and we could get dinner there. So off we went to buy dinner for later and a bag of ice which I had to leave in our bathroom sink throughout the evening because there were no buckets to put the ice in. Makes me wonder why did I have to buy a bag of ice and still not have a bucket? I also asked the woman in the lobby if they light the fire in the fireplace so we could sit there and enjoy it. She said she didn't know if she would because it's a pain to keep lit. So we sat in the room and scrolled on our phones.

Staff was incredibly helpful, from recommendations for dinner and places open late to weather advice. Pasteurized and coffee in the lobby every morning. The lobby seems recently renovated and very clean. The rooms are much older- seem clean except for the floors- which were impossible because the door jam had such a gap that entire leaves could blow in (really cold with the snow!) lots of extra blankets and things already in the room. All the linens (towels, blankets,bedsheets) had tears and several lights didn’t work, but nothing unsafe. Just needs some updates and TLC tbh.

The floor was hard, cold and dirty…. It was clearly not swept bc it left the bottoms of our feet looking and feeling disgusting. Very noisy -could hear all of the screaming and banging from people outside of our room all night. No warning of construction going on to fix roof, so woke up to sounds of hammering and other loud equipment and voices. Door knob only locks from the outside with a key, but no way to adjust lock from inside. There is a latch lock on inside though able to still crack door open. Beds are extremely worn down and squeaky.

We booked two nights but ended up checking out early and driving 3 hours home instead of staying a second night.

To make your stay the best it can be, you will need to bring your own clothes hangers, facial tissues, skin lotion, and alarm clock. The (prepackaged) breakfast muffins and pastries are very tasty. The in-room coffee maker was not in good condition (looks, clean). Mostly due to prior occupants. The table in the room was rather wobbly (single pedestal style) due to prior occupants.

The room was in a good condition. Unfortunately we had no hot water the whole time we stayed there. It was just lukewarm. After a full cold day of skiing it is very annoying and disappointing to come to the hotel room dreaming about a hot shower and get no hot water at all for 2 days.The staff said that it is because everyone is taking showers at the same time, but we had no hot water at any time during the day or night.Other than that, we were very happy with the hotel.

A little rough around the edges. It’s a great place to sleep and then go ski that’s about it. The staff was probably the one bright spot. Seems like more of a party spot on Friday and Saturday nights but we never felt unsafe. If you are looking for a budget friendly place to stay while skiing this is it.

Downgraded room with no warning.
For two years in a row I’ve booked two double queen beds at the Skyline Resort and both times I’ve somehow been switch to full size double. The clerk was very nice and looked into it for me. Someone that worked the earlier shift did an override to give my reservation away. Both of my teenage sons are bigger than me so I drew the short straw and had to sleep in the floor. I hope Expedia can provide a partial refund.

I love this cute motel/lodge. Anytime I am driving through West Virginia and I need a rest I go to this lodge. Rustic/campy feel to it. Nice spacious rooms and a great view and a great price per night. I am going to have to try and make a trip up and visit the ski resort right up the road.

didn't have the use of a tv first night. told the front desk at 5, thought it would be fixed when I got back 8 hours later. Was not fixed. Sent maintenance. Needed email from manager. He called manager, said he was with family and couldn't help. Just needed email address. They moved us down two rooms. had to move everything over and the lights didn't work except bathroom. Told front desk. They said I needed to get with the morning manager. Next morning, manager day off. They couldn't help. Left phone number for manager to call me but haven't heard from. Pitiful

Oh My... this was the worst experience ever!.... To Be clear - I chose this place because of it's presentation. It was NOTHING like it presented.
The Check-n Clerk was an entitled child who had no answers but wanted to ask questions and then got \"Offended\" when I answered them. {what?? - yeah}
Accused me of being rude when I asked if they weren't full, could I be moved to a Creekside room. Asked for a recommendation as to where we could eat and watch some sports was told I'd have to drive an hour...{actually went to a local place 20 mins away)
Room was really sad.
was kept up late by 10-12 rowdy & Loud 4 wheelers who left an over-flowing mound of beer cans right outside my door.
Lastly - the AC Unit - Roared like a Bad exhaust system every time it cam on throughout the night.
DO yourself a favor - unless you are a RWODY Good-timer who is not looking for sleep or comfort - Do NOT stay here.

Heater seemed to keep the room too warm, we just turned it off and we were comfortable. Room was a bit dated, the faucet moved around a lot. The restaurant and lounge were great! Good music on Friday night. There is only regular coffee in the morning (which was fine for us) the “danishes” are just individually wrapped hostess brand. Be aware when booking on certain sites that charge extra for the coffee and danishes, we saw a few people upset that they paid extra for what was offered. The employee informed them that there is never an extra charge for the coffee and danishes.

Over all it served our purpose, I’m sure it’s a party place during the ski season and no one cares about the little inconveniences.

The rooms pictured in the property details were not representative of my room. My room was very outdated and worse for wear. The baseboard was torn up. The carpet was stained and wallpaper was peeling. I was not comfortable at all in the musty room and I didn't shower while I was there because the bathroom was so dingy and unclean looking. They still use keys instead of key cards. I wondered how easily it is to make copies so security is very lacking I believe. I was very disappointed by the state of tge property after seeing what loojed lije s decent place online. The woman who checked me in walkedbaway from the desk as I pulled up. She put a sign up that she woukd be back soon but I had to call her to get checked in. She walked right by me without responding when I said hello. She never made eye contact and it was very clear she was annoyed that I called her to come back even though thst is what the sign said to do. I waited at least 5 minutes hoping she would return on her own which she did not. Bottom line. I did not enjoy my stsy from the first contact with her and with the ickiness if my room. I can't recommend this motel. Don't be fooked by the pictures. Also, the walls are paper thin.

Our room was on the lake side and it was truly pretty, and the staff was kind and friendly; but the room was very dated, not especially clean, there were few amenities (ex: no iron), and a number of things in the room need to be replaced (ex: the door stop in the bathroom was sort of melted looking and the \"melted\" rubber left residue on the door handle).
