This place is a dump. When checking in the lobby was a daycare, with moms and kids, and a pit bull, lounging around as if it was someones living room. These people were not guest but some staff and friends. The room provided, smelled like sewage, trying to figure out where the smell was coming from, checking the toilet, the seat didn't fit the toilet. Back to reception to change rooms, They mentioned a broken sewage pipe, nothing they could do. Large creator in the parking lot with a cone (probably the issue) changing rooms, long time resident fixing his bike by the open door with his German Shepard, ready to rip my face off. The room - broken window, fridge/microwave not plugged in, and need to move heavy furniture to plug in.
Never took my shoes off, rug looked old and worn. Bedding didn't match the two beds and was sketchy looking, slept poorly on top. Couldn't wait to leave. If we hadn't paid over $100, we would have left immediately,
How Wyndham allows this is a good question. I will be letting them know. And don't use the railing on the front steps, as its very loose and an accident waiting to happen.

It was like they were doing us a favour, not the other way around. Bed was unmade, no breakfast as at all, just coffee and juice. The operators had their kids hanging around the inside entrance with a dog being tended to in the reception area. Staff was standing outside bothe the front and rear doors smoking.

The site location is awkward to even get to. You. Have to drive through the dairy Queen parking lot just to get to the motel. The room was filthy and all leaving to it was horrible. A pile of linen and towels soaked and pissed the hallway in the room across from us. There was a picture of a breakfast bar and and there was no breakfast service included in the list of amenities

Pro: courteous helpful staff. Clean room. Very large room. Quiet area. Wonderful bed. Lots of very hot water.
Very good value.

Con: drapes were unhooked and drooped so that they could not be closed adequately. No clock in the room.
Difficult to find the motel in the area. Tv has bad sound.

First thing I noticed when I got settled in room, that there was no toilet paper. Went to office, they gave me a roll. Later in evening, realized the room heater/AC was unplugged and laying on floor. Tried to plug it in and wall socket wasn't type that would accept the device plug. Must have used adapter, but none located. Overnite, temperature dropped to 30 degrees. Was about 45 in the room. Then tried to take shower. Didn't have hot water. Ran water 6 minutes before some lukewarm water appeared. Then turn to shower and water from spray was just a trickle. After a few mins it turned back cold again. Worse experience I've ever had at a Hotels.com placement.

The room had good size, the bed slept well, the curtains could be closed properly as they did not come together one higher than the other, no coffee cups in the room only the clear plastic ones and no way ya can enjoy coffee that way, the room was very outdated, TV was a 24 inch with poor reception, the staff was friendly, the ladies wore tee shirts with sleeper pants, night shift the man wore a dirty black teeshirt that looked like he had been working in all day and his jeans where dirty as well. Breakfast was offered as most places yet when asked what time breakfast was the night shift stated no breakfast, juice and coffee 24/7. No coffee made and the apple juice was out of order. Asked where ice machine was. Night shift said he had to get it. Locked behind two locked doors was the ice. The guy took the ice scoop, a plastic bag and placed ice in it. No wearing of a glove to cover his hand as he was reaching in the ice machine. I threw the ice away. I will never again stay at this location and will tell all my friends and family to stay clear of this place. Very disappointed. Wish I could get a refund.

I did not cancel my room, received no confirmation my room was canceled, was told they could give me a room at a higher rate which only to find out I had been charged by you for a room I was told had been canceled having me pay twice for the same night

I did spot a couple of small insects. I immediately murdered them to smash. Were they roaches? I didn’t give them a chance to find out. I will say this, the staff was helpful and informative. The beds were not queen, they were full size. You get what you pay for

The motel was awful!! We only stayed there for 1 hour and found a different place to stay. The bed felt wet when sitting on it. There were holes in the wall and we could hear a smoke alarm beeping in another room. It smelled bad and there was only one towel in the bathroom. The room two doors down had a broken door and window so it was padlocked shut. After we moved we found out that it was know for drug dealing there.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms reeked of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be no smoking. There were holes in the walls, the bathroom was a disgrace with a broken faucet and there was mould on the shower walls and tub. There was a guy up stairs that came out screaming he was being held hostage in his room. There was no breakfast even though the add said continental breakfast included. The photos of this place are a total scam and I feel totally cheated for booking this place online as I paid $190 AUD for a night in a total dump. In my opinion it should be demolished. Not happy at all.

I took pictures if you would like to see. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom had a large hole between the toilet and bathtub. The electric heater in the bathroom did not work and was rusty. There were roaches climbing the wall next to me and I was doing my makeup at the desk. There was only one chair and it was myself and my husband. We will not be staying there again. The whole place was nasty looking. The handrail going in the front door was loose. I almost fell.

There was light shining in from surrounding restaurants and it was noisy..both from other rooms and outside activity.

MY WORST HOTEL STAY

This was the most disgustingly place/ lodge I have never seen. From you enter the lobby the place had a FOUL smell.. All the rooms that were shown to me were DIRTY, DUSTY, SMELLY and UNKEPT.
Supplies such as Linen were in shortage. We had to take our dirty towels to the main desk by 10AM to get clean ones.
Garbage were collected every 3 days.
Overall, my friends and I were very unsatisfied were our stay

When i arrived it took some time before anyone came to the office to help me. A reservations was through an online group. When the attendant arrived he took no identification from me at all.
I was given the room key and told that the room was cleaned up and in a safe area. My room was between two groups that were outside with their pickup trucks. One had a group of 4 grilling from back of their truck, smoking by my door.and talking. Music was playing. The group on the other side had kids running around outside and their truck parked beside my door with their tailgate down with blankets in it like they were also sleeping in the back of truck.
I was very concerned but I entered my room (11) and found it clean but what appeared to have a bug trail on the sheet of one bed. I was on the phone with my husband as i was traveling alone and i told him i was not staying here. I felt very unsafe. The area had alot of trash around it and was very rundown and very dark and hidden behind another business.
Our mistake was booking and paying for this lodging in advance but it was affiliated with Wyndham which we have never before had a bad experience.
This property should NOT be listed on any reputable online lodging group. I left and I didnt even check out of this hotel because again there was noone at the registration desk. The man that helped me initially was very nice and worked alone in the separate building where check in was.

We arrived at the property and had to hunt up the staff. (He was out back smoking.) We went down to the room and there was popcorn all over the floor. The sheets did smell clean but later we noticed there was mold, YES mold, on the legs of the desk. We were extremely disappointed. In the morning there was no breakfast, only coffee, with sweetened Coffee mate. Diabetics can’t/shouldn’t have sugar. I would not recommend this Travelodge to anyone. It’s probably the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. By the way, the hotel is located in between a Dairy Queen and Toco Bell. You literally drive into the parking lot of the DQ.

The hallway outside of the rooms smells like cat pee. The shower was so unclear we could not use it. The shower curtain was moldy. The sheets did not seem like they had been cleaned since last used. When the sheets and mattress cover were pulled back to check for bed bugs, the mattress was dirty and brown. The staff was very nice and friendly but unfortunately I am not likely to visit again.

No fridge, microwave, coffee pot, cups, ice anywhere. If you're looking for a place to sleep, shower, and leave it's ok at best. Getting in the parking lot is an adventure as you go in from the DQ parking lot or drive thru. View from the room wasn't appealing.

We were very well welcomed to the hotel by the gentleman at the front desk. The room was inside on the first floor as I requested. The room was nice and clean, warm and cozy. My concern when I was getting in and out of the shower and found no grabbers and felt a little unsafe as I have a balance problem.

I would say you get what you pay for with a place like this, but the motel is dated and is not the cleanest which is why this is cheaper than places around it. Even some of the repairs that were done were cheaply done. This motel would need significant funding and remodel to address a number of concerns with the condition of the property. It isn’t the worst motel I’ve stayed at, but it is not far off.

I did not have a bad experience with the staff as other reviews mention (likely attributing the condition of the place on the staff themself).

Bad hotel, dirty and unethical locatio

I had an unacceptable experience at the Travelodge by Wyndham in Beckley, WV. On the night of October12, 2024, I was given room #66, which was a queen bed instead of the king room I reserved, despite my request to cancel. The room was filthy, with visible dirt and fresh urine on the floor. After requesting a new room, I was moved to room #88, which did have a king bed, but the bathroom was still unclean and had mold.

The front desk staff was unethical in handling the situation, and the overall condition of this hotel is a serious health and safety concern. I strongly believe the property needs to be inspected by officials. This level of service and cleanliness is completely unacceptable.

The staff in the afternoon was very good. The clerk that checked me out was rude and shouldn’t be in public service. No continental breakfast. The afternoon clerk was very apologetic. The owner does not keep the place up. The one gentleman went over and beyond to help us.
