A gem in the middle of nowhere...amazing place!!! Hidden but amazing.
Staff extremely friendly and the owners made a huge breakfast for everyone. Delicious cookies homemade to received us.
We would like to stay few more days to explore the area but was just 1 night stop. We really love this place.

Our stay was truly wonderful! The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The room was clean and comfortable, and the entire property was always well maintained and spotless. It’s such a peaceful and quiet place—perfect for relaxing.

The drive to the Inn and the surrounding scenery were absolutely beautiful, adding to the whole experience. While the place isn’t the most modern, it has a charming, cozy, home-like feeling that makes it special. We will definitely be coming back!

Traveled with another couple. We rented two rooms. Both rooms had holes in the queen bedsheets. Ours were also stained with what appeared to be blood and a brown streak. We didn’t use the other areas of the hotel.

No dining within 25 minutes. They don’t tell you that upfront. The staff provided names of two restaurants saying one was open and the other was closed. Unfortunately those were completely reversed. No cell phone service so using GPS to navigate is impossible and it’s far out of the way with multiple twists and turns. Extremely difficult at night. Signage on main roads extremely poor and small. Over $250 fot this aging place is way high. Will not come back.

Comfortable but needs updating

Stayed at a Villa with 3 bedrooms, it’s nice the receptionist was helpful plenty of room we were 7 and we all had a place to sleep. How ever the furniture is old they got small TV with wires everywhere a portable ac unit and it could be cleaner and take the spiders web out, the whole place needs updating into the 21st century.

Definitely make arrangements for food before arrival, whether grocery shopping or take out. This beautiful Inn is nestled far away from hustle and noise. All you are surrounded by is nature and beauty. Rooms are a bit dusty but comfortable. The staff are very accommodating and kind. We enjoyed our stay here.

Charming friendly get away

Charming mountain setting in the woods. A little more spartan than I was expecting - there was no A/C and the bedroom was up a tiny spiral staircase, which was not what I was expecting. The staff and owner were very friendly and nice though, so well worth the stay if you know what to expect. I think winter would be a much nicer time to visit.

For a budget stay the place had it all for my son and I...movies, foosball, personal kitchenette.....admittedly (gotta say) the place was remote, quirky and dated but despite any of that we felt so welcome and comfortable.... we were quite glad that we discovered it and will definitely be back!!

20 miles from Fryeburg-North Conway. Columbus Day Weekend. Beautiful weather and foliage. Last minute travel plan. Only property within 50 miles that was not fully booked. Need I say more?

The area is beautiful, the management is helpful and friendly. Our room had a little kitchen, which was nice, and a great view of the forest. However, the place was pretty busy during our stay and the people above us were making a lot of noise. There were couple of issues with the room amenities, but we only stayed 1 night so didn't feel like worrying about it, and I'm sure if we asked to fix them, the owners would. Overall a nice place to stay.

Really cool former ski Lodge. Has a great public room with couches and fireplace. We had a 2-room suite which was HUGE with 2 full bathrooms and a kitchen.

Property and room was clean. Bed was very comfortable.

Hosts were friendly and involved. They even walk you to your room!

We'd love to return sometime in the future!

No AC! What first world country lodging facility in Maine has no AC? Ours didn’t! Did we check online to see if it did not have AC? No. But honestly, whoever does? What RCI timeshare facility does not have AC? If I could post a picture of my husband holding the thermometer up in our room, it would read 82°. Yes they even have thermometers in the room to prove that it’s super hot and you need to pay $20 extra a day to have a unit delivered to your room and have the skinniest woman alive no, we did not rent an AC. We asked for a Fan. And when that did not cut it, We asked for a second one. When she told us that it would take her a while to go get it, and if she could figure out how to install it, take care of All of the guests. Was it an experience? Yes was it a good experience no well I get over it. Yes well I ever stay here again or recommend that others do that would be a big resounding NO!

If you are looking to \"get away from it all,\" this is the place for you! I was, and I enjoyed staying there. The facility has seen better days, but it was and everything in the room worked. Also, because it is so remote, you need to either bring all of your own food, or be prepared to drive at least 15 or 20 minutes to find even one of 2 restaurants.

A 1 hour, 15 mile drive for $20 AC

Let me start that this appears to be an old ski lodge turned into an Inn. This is the place if you are looking for a quiet place, out in the woods, without AC (unless you pay $20/day for a portable AC unit that you stick the vent pipe outside through a hole in a plywood panel). The explanation (in writing) for the $20 charge was due to high electric rates. Perhaps they need to come up with a different excuse because even a conservative power calculation of this portable unit would be around $2.58 per day of electricity. Hotels.com showed this place was only 15 miles from Gorham,NH.. This may be true but we were not flying a helicopter. We were traveling by car and it was a 42 mile drive taking over an hour because of all the back roads. So the accuracy of the “distance from” calculations on Hotels.com site should not be believed. So, back to the facility… The staff member at check in was not very nice and dismissive. In her defense she was the only staff there and was cleaning rooms and checking in people. That is again due to the remoteness of this place. Condition of room was ok but very dated, washer/drier in the basement worked poorly. Game room was ok as was a central atrium. So, I personally would not stay here again or recommend it.

Can't miss this Maine hideaway!

What a hidden gem! This place is definitely off the beaten path, but well worth the extra effort to reach it. This is Maine as it is meant to be experienced - serene, laid back, and surrounded by natural beauty. The staff, location, cleanliness, and surprises - like homemade Rice Krispie treats upon arrival - make this a can't be missed adventure!

If you use a wheelchair, crutches, or have moderate-severe mobility issues, then this place might not be a good fit for you. There are multiple sets of steps throughout the building, even going through the “first floor”, along with steps to enter the front of the building and to get to the second floor. There’s a door on the other end of the building that has a ramp, but you can’t park there other than to quickly load/unload your vehicle. The parking area is near the front of the building, so whether you walk through the building or walk along the path outside to get to the other door, it’s going to be a little bit of a trek to get to your room.

There are AC units in some/most of the rooms, but it’s $20 a night to use them. Breakfast is not provided, although they do offer coffee and muffins in the front office area. With the closest towns being a 20-30 minute drive away, you’ll need to plan accordingly. There are small kitchens in the rooms that have basic supplies, which came in handy.

It is also currently a dog friendly hotel, so expect lots of barking since most pet owners these days don’t teach their dogs basic obedience skills and manners.

Other than those few items, which I mentioned only as a heads up to others so that there’s no last minute surprises, it was a pleasant stay. The bed was more comfortable than I expected and wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be to set up. Being in the woods and away from the crowds/traffic made it even better.

This property is WAY off the beaten path, far from the nearest town and amenities. It is a wilderness area, the road had some serious pot holes the last mile or two. The staff were extremely friendly. The building is large and old. Our room had a very steep, tight spiral metal staircase to a loft bedroom. It worked for one night. There is a well equipped kitchenette and access to propane BBQ grill for $2 (I cooked a steak, worked great). The internet was very slow, at times didn't work at all. We had NO reception with our TMobile (no surprise there). We had a pleasant stay and would go back again. I'm sure there is some hiking in the area, but we didn't have time to check it out.

I loved the welcome feeling provided by Jay and Hope. Very nervous about lack of communication.. There is no way to reach the outside world in case of emergency. Along with no cell service, there are no land lines from the rooms. The rooms are vintage but charming. The circular staircase is not for everyone...beware if you are not steady on your feet. Loved that there was always hot coffee and a snack available. A small library with an interesting collection of books. Shower ran hot and cold depending on how many showers are in use at the same time I think. Felt the rooms were overpriced.

This place has some definite building issues on the outside and the picture does not show them.
The place needs a coat of paint, a door that has not been repaired with a piece of plywood, quite weathered so definitely not a new situation. Despite the high humidity the air in the room was not on when we arrived and so it took a while for the temperature to be comfortable. I had emailed ahead and asked if it was possible to check in early, check in time was not until 4 o'clock, definitely the latest I have ever experienced, and never received a reply. Check out was at 10am - definitely the earliest time, especially in a \"vacation\" area. I would say don't book here unless desperate and absolutely don't spend more than a night. Parking was also an issue.
