This place is now under private ownership. There was no one there when we arrived and we had no idea that we were knocking on the door and looking into the window of a private residence. When we contacted hotels.com for a refund they refused. It remains on the website despite being privately owned.

The business was closed, but was still accepting reservations and confirmations.

Website is accurate - Hotels.com misrepresents
Brad is the host at Wauban Cottage and he is great. The place was extremely clean. The only issue is that Expedia and Hotels.com misrepresented the room we stayed in. The website by Brad was very clear that the bathroom for our room was across the hall. Hotels.com said it was ensuite and also private but not separate. Brad was unaware and apologized, unfortunately he has not control over how Hotels.com presents. Please go to website for accuracy.
Karen
Older house but well kept up and owner was awesome.
Patricia
Lovely screened in porch.

The Inn is so beautiful, room was charming, complete with a claw-foot tub in the huge bathroom. Bed very comfortable, everything was great! Conversation over breakfast was engaging, food was very good.
Nicholas
We had a wonderful stay at Wauben Cottage. The cottage is beautifully unique and has a welcoming and warm feel. We especially enjoyed the screened in front porch which made for a pleasant evening of just relaxing and taking in the north country. Our host, Brad, was very personable and attentive. His dog, Max, won our hearts from the moment we arrived. We highly recommend Wauben Cottage and look forward to staying here again.

Sweet B&B in Northport, MI
Brad was the most gracious host. The house is super amazing, clean, comfortable, and has so much character. Breakfast was delicious, and Brad's attention to detail is wonderful. We would highly recommend this B&B for a stay in northern Michigan.
Mark
Pillows were not comfortable. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy on both mornings, materials on local amenities were limited, furnishings and decor were tired looking. Overall was rather disappointing.
Tyrone
Excellent B&B with great owners.
Jill and Davce
Nice B&B. Brad was great.
Nathan
Pleasant historic b&b in Northport. Needs a little TLC around property, comfortable beds, clean and fresh rooms. Breakfast is ok. Good coffee.
Elizabeth
We had a delightful and comfortable stay here, owners were polite, friendly and informative. The house itself is so lovely and nice common areas and yard space. Room was comfortable and had in-room AC controls. Thank you!

Beautiful property with interesting history. Very quiet setting and helpful, friendly host.

I stayed for 2 nights and it was fine. I was there for an event and couldn't find a nearby hotel room, but this opened up literally at the last minute. It was expensive, but I was grateful to have found a room. We were out the door early, before their 8am breakfast but Brad was gracious and tried to get food set out earlier for us. It was quite a limited menu, same thing both days. Other reviews mentioned the mattresses needing replacement but mine was just fine. Room was clean, the place was charming and far more interesting than a hotel room. Best part aside from the hosts was the screened in porch. A nice place to chill before heading to sleep.
Linda
Comfortable, clean and quaint! The owners were very helpful and friendly. Loved how close to town it was👍

Our host, Brad, was very conversational, gracious, and showed interest that we were satisfied with our stay. It’s a unique, quaint B&B on a beautiful, spacious property. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area.

Northport - July 2024
We enjoyed our night here and would come back in the future. Brad was a welcoming host, and the room was clean and comfortable. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops in town.
Jaime
It was great and cute

This place is amazing! We drove from Texas and felt right at home. The owners are great and we absolutely can not wait to go back!!!

Could have asked fro a most gracious host Brad, was always helpful with information, and places to go and things to do. Room was fantastic, bed was comfortable, everything was top notch.

Nice!
Alisha
It's unbelievably quiet at night. Wonderful sleep. Very nice host and easy parking. Just one block walk into town.
Rebecca
The property was beautiful and peaceful. The house it self was historic and gorgeous. We loved it!
Rebecca
We loved staying here. A highlight of our vacation. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. It's got a little cabin vibe. We loved it so much, we have reservations to go back in a few months.
Lynn
Terrible bed and pillows. The mattress causes you to roll to the middle. Spent the night trying to not sink into the middle. The pillows were flat and the bed creaks so much that no way were we going to enjoy marital relations.
Lynn
Cute cottage. The room was fine. The bed creaked way too much. No marital relations in that room! The mattress was terrible - we kept rolling to the middle of the bed. So between the creaky bed and mattress, not the best sleep.
Gail
Hosts were wonderful. Room very clean
I had cancelled my reservation due to health then was able to go. Owner Brad was more than accommodating for my change of plans and hit us a great room. Highly recommended.

I wish I would have had more time, but I was on a road trip.

Very charming and wonderful location. The owners were very nice. The room was spacious and perfect for sleeping.
Sue
The home was very clean and welcoming. The owners were pleasant and helpful. The bedding did need to be updated with new pillows. The breakfast was very lacking in taste and appeal.
Laura
The third floor room #5 was bigger than expected - would maybe benefit from a small dinette to have extra seating. Annette was wonderful and very friendly.
alan
I had room number 4 which has a queen bed and a huge bathroom with 2 windows. High ceilings. House was built in 1895. Nice porch. Annette makes delicious sweets. 5 minute walk to center of Northport where there is a big Tom's supermarket, a bakery and several restaurants.
Pablo
Great place to stay
The rooms are great, I suggest having a bit more comfortable beds.
Brian
We liked everything about the stay. One exception we stayed on the top floor. The top floor was really what used to be an attic converted. The stairway to this room is very odd to say the least. Very steep with very low over heads. But we made the best of it. Bed was a bit worn we rolled towards the middle.
The location to town was great.! Very easily walked . It’s a great part of the country to visit.! And the hosts were very friendly. And the place was super clean.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Wauban Bed & Breakfast! Immaculate, comfortable room with bath. The hosts were the nicest people ever! Breakfast was delicious. We will be back.
Matthew
True northern Michigan house - you could almost imagine Ernest Hemingway writing here. Clean and comfortable and the host was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Ellyn
This is an old restored house that was converted into a B&B. It was very comfortable and a short, walkable distance from downtown Northport. The screened porch was a great place to chat with friends. Breakfast was nice, but not many options for those on restricted diets. All in all it was a very nice place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

We liked the historic nature of the building. The property was very clean. The room was very quiet and the bed very comfortable. We didn’t like the climb up stairs at our age. The breakfast was OK. The hosts were very attentive and helpful. We chose this inn because it was the closest we could find to family we were visiting.
Anita
Nice
For being a 1895 house...its amazing! Love that it has codes for the house and rooms! Coffee was so good! The house and rooms were very clean.
Richard
Relaxing, wonderful hospitality
Mark
Quiet and comfortable
Very quaint and well maintained historic house. Hosts, and their dog, we’re very welcoming, but also gave plenty of space and didn’t hover. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Common space is large and cozy. Breakfast was good.
Gary
Had a comfortable stay, great to have a porch to sit on and put feet up after busy day.
Elizabeth
The owners were super friendly and helpful. They were able to give us the codes to the bed & breakfast early and let us check in early as well. We would definitely stay here again!
Laurie
Our first time at a B&B. Love the history of the house. Annette and Brad were very accommodating.
