Stayed there once before and enjoyed being in the main motel overlooking the lake. This time was very disappointing. They put us in the \"North Resort\" a nearby addition to the main resort. You had to walk through other houses about 500 yards to the main resort with all the amenities. I verbalized disappointment with this, and they refused to move us. The kayaks and amenities were not maintained and falling apart. Had to use the main resort public restroom which the toilet was clogged and disgusting. The kicker was we were told to walk down a path from the North resort to a small, shared beach. They had nothing there for guest to even sit on and the owners of the shared beach set up their docks, chairs where we felt very uncomfortable and intruding. Our room was clean and comfortable, but we will never return.

Stayed for a couple nights for a friends getaway. The property was beautiful and offered swimming, boating, fire pits, ample seating areas, and lawn games. The room was comfortable and clean. Can't wait to return...definitely will be on the books for next year or sooner.

The grounds are lovely and wonderful for kids and for swimming and relaxing. Very nice setting by the lake, aside from the road noise. A beach area with adirondack chairs, hammocks and shade and an area for kids to play with lots of activities. You would come here for all of that. The hotel room furniture is dated and old and needs to be updated, particularly the bathroom. Because things are so dated, it feels like the room, particularly the bathroom, aren't clean. The owners are lovely.

Didn’t get the pack and play for my son when called multiple times. Only got offered last minute when he was already sleep. Went to their little restaurant to eat before bed, never got the food my son got antsy and we had to leave the restaurant. Never got offered a refund or food delivered, nothing. Then the next day my son got ill and had to leave early, Expedia attempted to reach out to get a refund for the last day and were denied. The woman at the desk said I’d get a credit? Didn’t even get that, not that I’d use it. So sad this was a Valentine’s Day gift and it was really awful.

Clean room, owner was amazing as was the staff. We were there for my wife’s grandmother’s Celebration of life and after letting the staff know the owner asked us upon checkout if they could name their little Book Library after my wife’s grandmother who was a librarian in Bridgton for years. What an honor!!! We will be back for sure. We come to the area several times a year.

Staff was very friendly and nice. The bed was super comfortable. The water pressure was good. Property has beautiful views. Nice area. Decent amount of dining options, walking areas a few miles away.
Some areas for improvement is the bathroom. It’s fully functional but very dated and mismatched. The stand up shower stall is a tight fit for an average size person. The rug in the room needed a good deep clean/shampoo. A ceiling fan would be lovely to circulate the airflow. Felt a little stagnant. To me minor but notable mentions. Everyone has different taste and style. Overall was a great experience.

We didnt even stay the 2nd night, and looked for another place to stay the first night, with no luck. Awful. Sinuses, allergies a mess staying there. Linens rough.
Definitely not worth the price....awful.

What a lovely spot! Great view, great amenities and friendly staff. We stayed in the South part along the road - it’s an older motor in style building but has nice updates

We really appreciated the cafe on site - had a delicious freshly prepared and healthy breakfast, enjoyed coffee and views from the dock. Lovely spot to swim and paddle!

It’s clear that the owners really care and want to provide a nice spot for vacationers

I loved my stay. If I hadn't already set plans I actually could have stayed on the property and filled my days kayaking, canoeing, fishing, meditate. A very rekaxing pkace to stay. I did kayak everyday I was there, and I took advantage of the circular labyrinth to unwind and meditate.

If not for the lake it wouldn't have been worth the money it cost. The refrigerator tilted every time I opened it. The stand up lamp did not work. There was a bulb out in the bathroom. Very noisy at nighttime. Just a very, very small basic room. No amenities to speak of.

Property has a beautiful view of Highland Lake. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards available to take out. Quiet and serene. Interesting system with dry erase board to let housekeepers know if you need towels, TP etc. Otherwise no housekeeping services. Restaurant was not open, so went downtown for breakfasts.

Not what I expected from a Resort

My experience at check in was not as planned. I was already 2 hours late from a plane ride and all I wanted was the key to my room so I could go to a family reunion that I was now running late for. With much patience, myself and another gentleman waited as the only person who could check you in was dealing with a very difficult customer's request for a reservation. It took about 20 minutes before she finally said let me take your number down and call you back.Once I finally got my key I was told I was on a different property called \"North Lake resort\" just 500 yards up the road. I didnt got to my room until 10pm. I was the only car in the parking lot! It was a row of square attached rooms. Small room, small bathroom and tiny shower with old fashion plumbing.I first tried to turn the TV on, That was a challenge and then tried the wifi. There was no wifi password given to me. With little service I reached out to the office and emergency phone number I did get a response and eventually got on wifi. I heard every creek, car, truck and noise threw out the night. I didn't sleep well at all. I hesiatating spending a second night but I had to up and out early.

Very nice staff & room seemed clean & cozy. I did have to clean the heat pump filter as it obviiusly wasn‘t changed in a while and not heating the room properly. The shower & bathroom were also not very modern & definitely need some updating. We booked the double room and quickly realized how thin the walls were to the next unit. Not sure what was going on in the next unit, but we all we could hear was incoherent babbling through the wall the entire time (day and night). It was a little unsettling as there was no car parked there, drapes were closed & no one came in or out. I did not call the desk as i thought it would stop at some point, but it never did.
It was a good location for skiing @ Pleasant Mountain!

In my opinion, this is a nice motel with amenities not a resort. Perhaps that designation is disappointing some of the previous guests who might have been expecting more. My off season two night stay was very good. I stayed in the north annex and the room was very comfortable. The room was very clean and decorated very nicely. Yes, the bathroom was small, but it was not an issue. I had no issues with hot water as mentioned in another review but once again, I was not there during the summer when that might be an issue. You can see the lake from these rooms but cannot get to it from that location. I did walk around the main area which has access to the lake with kayaks and row boats available. A nice back lawn with seating and fire pits would be lovely in the summer. I will say that the building with the office in it is a bit of an eyesore. It is the first thing you see when entering the property and it has no curb appeal. I did not interact with any staff as everything was done on line and key was left for me which was very convenient.

They have everything you need,canoes,kayaks,paddle boards,plenty of things for kids to play with,they even have a hidden gem behind a fenced in area,but you'll have to stop by to find out. The things I found bad were the bed was too hard and the shower was so small,if you dropped the soap,you need to get out to pick it up, 3x3 shower,tiles in front of shower were loose because of water getting under them,tv was in a cabinet,too low laying in bed,should have been mounted to the wall above !!!

Online it showed that there was a Cafe on site. It was closed down so we had to commute to dine. The grounds were in need of spucing up. The shower stall wasn't ideal. Not enough kitchen supplies such as pans and knives. The area was fairly quiet. The staff was friendly. The smoking area just outside of our room left something to be desired.

Loved the manicured lawn, easy walk to the lake, swings, peaceful sayings and offerings, and docks.

Can improve: My roommates (2) both had uncomfortable sleeping on the beds. First night, I was on the cot and was fine. Second night, I traded with my son who said his back was in pain from the bed (we acknowledge that he has a memory foam mattress at home) and he slept on the cot (found it to be a little bit better). My friend (does not have a memory foam) said her bed was uncomfortable as it had a sag in the middle. (Rm. 112)
