This is the perfect place to come home to each day on your adventurous Costa Rican vacation. This was our first time in Costa Rica and we had an amazing experience, mostly due to the hospitality of Tiki Villas (Kerling was our guardian angel the whole week!). Their recent renovation is spectacular and so relaxing and comfortable. As for the sights, we could see the ocean from our deck, and enjoyed views of the rainforest wildlife. Simply spectacular! Pura Vida!

Chefs were outstanding. Made boring food taste good and they should be proud of their work. Nice views and cool built in hammock.

Beautifully renovated property (it reopened in January after extensive property upgrades). The villas were beautifully designed. The views are stunning. The pool area was lovely. The restaurant is excellent, and the staff was very friendly. No major complaints whatsoever.

A few minor things to improve, but not enough to give less stars (and the staff mentioned that they were still finalizing some things due to furniture shipments delayed, etc). The pool area could use a few more lounge chairs; the main lobby area could use a bit more decor (plants, more tables, pillows, etc) to fill out the space and create a more intimate feeling.

The view from Tiki Villas is so beautiful, incredible pool/restaurant views in particular but also from each villa, they are all so well situated. The recent renovation is really well done with fantastic indoor/outdoor bathrooms and super comfortable beds. I think some finishing touches are still being done but I have no doubt it will be fantastic when finished. Staff are all friendly and the food is excellent - wonderful breakfast and really inventive dinner dishes.

Amazing stay, truly unforgettable!

Tiki Villas made us feel incredibly special as we celebrated our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, they pulled out all the stops with flowers, thoughtful treats, and genuinely heartfelt hospitality. The entire staff went above and beyond, but Walter and Kerling deserve special recognition. They were incredible. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they helped us navigate a few unexpected challenges with ease.

The accommodations were outstanding. An extremely comfortable bed, huge soaking tub, a beautiful and relaxing pool, and an overall sense of privacy and luxury that made it feel like a true escape. Breakfast each morning was phenomenal, and the food overall was excellent.

And the dessert. Wow. The chocolate lava brownie, sadly discontinued, was hands-down one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. Truly unreal, and we can only hope they bring it back.

We cannot recommend Tiki Villas enough. Can’t wait to come back!!

Had a free weekend with the girlies during our month-long study abroad trip, and we could not have made a better choice than Tiki Villas!! The hotel staff, the view, the pool and spa services—absolutely no complaints from any of us.

From the get go, we were treated so kindly; Nancy upgraded our hotel room when we arrived so we’d have more space, and the room was lovely. We had an indoor AND outdoor shower, and a balcony with a view of the ocean. It’s genuinely the nicest place I’ve ever stayed.

The restaurant staff were also so kind and patient considering we’re a group of girls who are fairly new to speaking Spanish, and they always met us halfway (or more) with communication! The food and drinks were always amazing. They gave me a bag of dry rice when my phone got soaked at Parque Nacional Marino Ballena, and I was so grateful. They went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and did not need anything.

I definitely hope to return one day and stay for much longer. Two days was not enough. Tiki Villas has definitely been solidified as one of my best experiences in Costa Rica, and I genuinely don’t know how anywhere else I go will be able to top this place!

This is not a top ranked hotel. In fact it was one of the worst we ever stayed at

On the positive side the grounds and the lobby are beautiful. We were so excited when we arrived. However that was before we saw the room and interacted with the staff.

The bathroom literally had black mold in the walk and peeling paint on the ceiling. There was also mold on the curtains in the bedroom. There was no room near the sink to put personal items and the shelves that were supposed to to be on the wall were missing. In addition there was a plastic glade air freshener in the closet. The chairs around the pools were missing cushions. One cushion that did exist had a giant hole in the cover

As far as service, We were shown to our room and told the comforter that went on the bed wasn't ready yet and was still in the wash. The gentleman who showed us to the room also mentioned we were missing coffee. He left the room. Several hours went by and still no comforter or coffee. When we went to dinner at the hotel, we asked about the comforter and were handed it to bring back as we left the lobby. The poor service continued throughout the stay. Housekeeping never showed up, promises to bring towels to the room were never kept, we were told dinner reservations would be made but would not etc

Unless u care only about the setting, stay anywhere else

This place has an outstanding view from the infinity pool, exceptional personal service from all the staff and is in a great location for exploring Uvita, Ballena and Dominical.
The rooms were a little tired but perfectly functional and having a walk in wardrobe, huge shower & kitchenette made our stay more comfortable.

I am sure 10 years ago the hotel was great. It’s just run down since it’s 2012 travel awards they received. Staff was nice but room was out dated and affected by the years of humidity. Firstly it was a challenge to locate the property. Zero signage indicating its location distance/direction to villas. Locks on doors were not functional for the patio and outdoor shower. The bed was probably the hardest mattress I have ever slept on. Sink water unsafe for consumption (teeth brushing, face washing, etc.) Property at night is not well lit, especially in the parking lot that is a distance from the hotel reception. Overall just needs to be maintained and cleaned up.

Upon booking, prior to arrival, and during our stay the staff was attentive and helpful, including recommending a 4WD rental. They booked several activities for us and shared recommendations for restaurants and additional sites. Service was excellent in the dining room, and the popen air massage was amazing.

Nice small hotel with excellent service. The views of the ocean from our balcony were beautiful and the setting was very peaceful. The room was very clean. The only draw back was that the room had a bad odor - maybe an issue with the drains or septic system. The air conditioner helped to mask it a little, but it persisted throughout the 2 night stay. Hopefully it was just our room and it can be fixed.

4) awful food. Ceviche with bones in it that one could choke on. Thai curry inedible. Dessert with nuts that people aren't made aware of, beware if have allergies, as Diego won't tell you about it.

6) did not get the Expedia VIP benefits of $23 food discount

We loved our stay at Tiki and enjoyed the solitude and peaceful surroundings. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The manager was so helpful and enjoyable to speak with.

Our only comment would be regarding the breakfast. Sometimes the food did not come out hot and seemed to have been prepared earlier. It was not necessarily fresh tasting.

We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.

The balcony deck has a table and a couple of chairs that we moved inside; toilet sounded like the furnace failing in A Christmas Story. Overall the rooms could use a facelift.

Such an incredible recluse feel, with gorgeous views of the ocean. The 4x4 only road continues past the resort up to the very top of a look out, where we saw monkeys and watched a spectacular sunset. The team at Tiki Villas were kind, and it was absolutely serene and peaceful. Very convenient location, immaculate grounds, and the feel of the seclusion was what made it perfect. Wonderful place for reflection, grounding and peace for the soul. Will absolutely recommend and stay again!

I have never walked into a hotel and just wanted to stay put. This place is up the hill with a view overlooking the ocean. We swam as we did some bird watching and watched the sun set. Our alarm was set to the howler monkeys. The staff were friends that we hung out with sharing about the surroundings. The chef, who took advantage of the local culture made the best food that you could not get enough. Why would I ever leave this place??

It is a great place to relax since it's adults only and there aren't many villas. What we were most dissapointed was by the restaurant. Breakfast was acceptable but our experience with dinner was not good, the food was greasy, portions were small and the price was too high. I would definitely encourage people to eat out in many great restaurants in Dominical and Uvita. We had to eat at the hotel because of Covid restrictions. To top it off, we ordered a creme brulee and it was easily the worst one I have ever tried, and I have a sweet tooth and eat just about everything.

One Week Stay at Tiki

The facilities are nice and clean. The pool and deck are small, but fine. The best part about the hotel was the staff, Adrian and Girard, who were friendly, attentive and helpful. The worst thing about the hotel was the internet service. Was very spotty. There is no cell signal on the property so you have to rely on wifi and the wifi there was terrible -- coming in and out sporadically.

The location, however, was great as it was near where we needed to be each day.

After a long drive to get to the property from San Jose, we arrived and were checked in after a few minutes. As it was dinner time someone had to come away from serving but check in was easy and quick. He helped us get our bags from the car as the parking is a little walk from the actual rooms (because it's on the side of a mountain). The only downside to the drive into the property is firstly it's very remote so I didn't have a cell phone signal and I ended up at the property next door in the dark with no way to contact the hotel to find out where I was meant to be but the neighbors sent me in the right direction. Then the drive in really does need a 4x4 but our little rental car did OK.

The individual villas are fantastic. The view from every room is incredible. The beds are a little hard but not like some beds I've slept in in Costa Rica. It was impeccably clean and while we were told not to drink the water by the staff they do give you bottled water and the room also had a kettle that I would boil before bed to have water to make coffee with in the morning. The balcony is large and looks out over the rainforest and the ocean. The location couldn't be more perfect,.

The restaurant breakfast was very good, but I wasn't impressed with the selection for dinner as it was a little limited and fairly expensive but what I ate was very good. If you're lazy you're not going to like the stairs to the restaurant.

Relaxing and beautiful hotel with great service!

This was actually my favourite hotel of many places in Costa Rica. The gracious and friendly service, especially from Gerald and Jason, was outstanding from the start and made this place feel even more high end. Our villa was very spacious, had a beautiful view and felt private, yet was only a 20 second walk to the dining building. The outdoor shower was a treat as well. A highlight was lounging by the infinity pool with a good drink, while watching toucans and other birds fly and sing around us as the sun went down.

TikiVillas was the best place to spend our vacation in Uvita. The views were breathtaking, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was to die for.

We arrived after sunset and were a little spooked because the resort is up an unpaved road marked \"dead end\" but other than that our stay was great. Loved seeing toucans out our window every morning

The setting was incredible, in the rainforest with excellent views of the ocean. The rooms were comfortable (beds a little too stiff though). The staff were excellent, too, extremely helpful with day to day issues, with excursions and were very friendly. We came for our final few nights of our honeymoon. It’s a hidden gem. Just off the main road up a hill. We woke up to views of the rainforest and watched the sun set over the Pacific from the infinity pool. The staff were really friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. So disappointed... dirty and outdated hotel. This is not a four star hotel at all, looked like a one star hotel.
Kitchen was closed due to the hotel only having two guests on site! What kind of service do they provide!?!?! None!
Hotel had no staff after 11pm, a young guy greeted us with a lantern and led us to our room at night, that was the service!
Narrow uphill road is not paved at all, drive at your own risk! Be careful, at night as it is pitch black in that hotel area and loaded with wild animals.

TikiVillas is a wonderful place to stay. The location is amazing, and Tiki staff will make you feel that you are in paradise. Staff is friendly, and well prepared to assist you. The TikiVilla restaurant offers limited menu but each meal is extremely worthy to taste.
The room has a wonderful view to the sea, besides green nature surrounds your room. The open balcony as well as the double shower (one indoors, and the other outdoors) is a plus.

Overall the property was very nice, small and quaint. Not alot of traffic/guests staying there so it felt very remote, which was nice and relaxing. The villas have amazing views of the ocean & jungle, it was really nice to sit outside on the private balconies and listen to the sounds of the rainforest. The villas themselves were very spacious, clean and fairly modern. The bathrooms we're very nice and spacious with an adjacent outdoor private shower which we used almost every night- very cool! The staff was very friendly and helpful with tours around the area. I would recommend TikiVillas to anyone coming to this area.

Beautiful tropical views from the infinity pool!

Tiki Villas is a nice property in the rainforest, offering beautiful ocean views. I especially liked the boutique size of the property with only 12 cabins and an inviting infinity pool. I was not impressed with the cleanliness or maintenance of the property. The ceiling fans and deck chairs were rusted really bad and the cleaning sponge in the kitchen was well, well worn (which I assume is what was used to clean my dishes?!)
Overall, I would recommend Tiki Villas as a pleasant stay that is centrally located in the Dominical/Uvita area. There are plenty of cool birds (even toucans) and animal sightings right on the property. I also think the price was a bit high for the return.

Special thanks to Gerald, who wore many hats as the receptionist/waiter/bartender/concierge for a wonderful stay!

The hotel is overpriced compared to the amenities offered. Rooms and buildings are in need of repairs, broken blinds gave the rooms a shabby appearance and were not sufficiently stocked with amenities like iron and ironing boards or televisions. I expected more for the price.The air conditioners were very under powered and were unable to cool rooms in the mid day heat and humidity. Food and service was average and the dining area was not very accessible for early morning coffee etc.
However, the setting was indeed very beautiful and the staff pleasant, just not well experienced. We left a day early, forfeiting our last night prepayment for two rooms just to get some quality rest in another hotel with better amenities at a comparable price. I felt naive and assumed too much based upon past experience in like priced boutique hotels. Should not have prepaid for two rooms and five days. Live and learn.
