The hotel staff overall was very friendly and welcoming. The food was good and no porblem enjoing the different restaurants. The entertainment staff was amazing. They entertained adults, teenagers, and kids. Very family friendly. Always something to do and the music was amazing. I have been to other RIU adults only hotels and this entertainment crew has been the best!

I would not stay here again. The food is a huge part of the experience on a vacation and sadly this misses the mark in so many ways. We barely could eat by the end of it. They say the food is à la carte but it’s actually a buffet at every restaurant with a few items to choose à la carte that come to you cold. It says no reservations, but many restaurants didn’t have openings.
The staff unfortunately, aren’t the happiest. We were here for a wedding so typically don’t stay at a hotel of this level so maybe that’s why the staff weren’t as happy as what we’re accustomed to. They’re extremely strict including you need a card just to get a pool towel. And you can only get one towel all day, even when it poured rain. We were not able to exchange our towel for a dry one.
Ceiling fan fell right off the roof in the room mid night😳 the list goes on and on.
I would just not recommend staying here even if you have to spend a little bit more money, it is not worth it here. Sadly by the second last day, we got very sick (I think from the food) and multiple people in our party did throughout the week.

The hotel was nice overall, the food was good, and there were several pools to enjoy, including two adults-only pools, which we really appreciated.

However, there were a couple of disappointing issues during our stay:

* On two different occasions, the hotel alarm went off and we were told to evacuate the building. Both ended up being false alarms. The second one happened at 6 AM, and when I called reception afterward, there was no apology or explanation.
* The air conditioning stopped working for an entire day and, more importantly, throughout the whole night, which made it very uncomfortable.

As I said, we still had a nice stay overall, but considering the other options available, I don’t think we would return.

The stay was overall good. The staff is excellent. Carlos housekeeper very good, Monse at the Jardin lounge is excellent service. Eddy at the pool bar was excellent. When I called the reception because I needed coffee, water, Pepsi it was done right away very attentive. The negative things where having to pay $3 to play pool at the sports bar, the bathroom from the pool where to much water on floor, an that's nasty. An the bathroom on the room there was always a smell of urine. It was definitely coming from the pipes working it's way up. An lastly the room was to warm. I tried to lower the temperature but I could not do it . It was always at 25.5 C I lost sleep because of too warm.

We had a great experience on our girl's trip.
The check in & check out service was quick and easy.
The room was clean. We loved that we could request more waters, beers, towels, whatever we needed in our room from the app.
The service at the bars was great. Friendly staff.
We only had a few days here, so we didn't do any excursions or leave the resort. Everything we needed for a few days was there. We just bounced from the pool to the beach every day and the water slides were fun. We traveled without our kids, so we liked that most of the time we weren't around any. One of the pools was more family oriented and the other was the adults drinking. Restaurants & buffets were good.
The only slip up was one of the service restaurants took FOREVER one of the nights we had dinner. (they said they were understaffed that night) We were seated at the table probably 2.5 hours and many people kept leaving because the wait to get food, drinks, & service was very long.

Stayed at Riu Dunamar recently and overall it was just okay. The rooms were decent, but they don’t offer queen beds which was a bit inconvenient. You can also hear everything through the walls. We could hear people next to us talking and babies crying all night, which made it hard to sleep.

The food was hit or miss. The steakhouse didn’t match the photos at all, and the chocolate dessert had a strong fridge taste.

It’s definitely kid friendly, which is great for families. However, the pools could use more frequent cleaning. At one point there was even a hot dog floating in the pool, which wasn’t a great experience. Also, the water park is closed every Monday, which is something to keep in mind when planning.

It was a nice trip overall, but not somewhere I would personally return to.

We had a great time at Riu Dunamar! It was our first time there for spring break. The whole family had a great time! We ranged in age between 7-50 years. The water park was great for all ages. There was multiple pools at the property, some are for adults only but most were for the entire family. They had pool activities which added some action and entertainment to the day. There was night events that included adults and the young ones as well which was great! There are a variety of restaurants plus a buffet that changed the type of food daily. The food was good, everyone was satisfied! They offered water excursions for an additional charge. We did a couple of them, they added some fun to our stay! They have an app for the resort that shows the restaurants with their menus and times. Daily activities schedule and attire requirements and suggestions. They have a gift shop on sight which is very expensive, if decide to purchase something from their make sure to have a credit card handy as they don't charge anything to the room. The resort is not close to anything which we were fine with since there was enough activities on sight. They do offer airport transportation that you have to arrange a week in advance but it is not offered if you book through Expedia, it's only offered if you book directly through them.

Overall stay was a great time, I definitely recommend it!

We were surprised to see multiple restaurants with buffet style offerings, the grill by the pools had cold hot dogs / hamburgers and overall the food was OK. This should be an area that shines at resorts and this was a weakness at RIU Dunamar.

The experience was great all the way around! I went for spring break with the family and there was plenty for all to do. The food was great and staff in all areas were so polite and friendly. Plenty of activities during the day and shows in the evening. There were scheduled events every day if you wanted more to do than just relaxing the pool or beach. I’d 100% recommend!

We had a party of 17 and with restaurants serving on a first come first serve basis, we were worried, however absolutely no issues. Pleasently surprised! Drink services at the pool and beach were somewhat slow, but not terrible. Tipping helped!

I visited the resort with my family on Easter week of 2026.
The property and the room was clean, the specialty restaurants and the buffet had a very good selection of foods.
The only store on the property had very expensive items. Be sure that don't forget anything home because the prices were double or triple there without any other choices.
What really bothers me about this resort is the excessive noise all hours of the day or night.
It seems there's no noise barrier so anyone outside in the yard or hallways talking or screaming is like they're next to you in the bed.

We traveled for family vacation on a spring break. Once we came resort was overbooked and they asked us to move to another Riu Venture. Riu Ventura was not bad but not for kids. They have a lot adults only activities and it’s hard to explain kids why they don’t do face painting to kids, only adults who will go for night party to a different resort. We asked to do face painting for kids but they said they can’t . Don’t understand even now why it’s so hard to do couple dots on kid’s face.
Also they don’t clean beach at all. Food was good and restaurants good too.

Prices were very high comparing the hotel offers.

Here are the good: room was very clean, hotel was clean as well and well maintained, safe,
food was ok, Riu party for all was really great.

Not so good: the barbacue restaurant food could be much better some served seemed not fresh, more food options in the main restaurant and in the sports bar, the beach was full of weed and the trees had roots coming out of the sand, the entertainment could be better, the best was Riu party, other days were not so great. They could assist me better, I did not have a shuttle, when I called the hotel, instead of offer me shuttle options&tips, they told me to call expedia. Gym was very small and busy early morning.

Overall was acceptable, but could be done much better.

The nightly entertainment shows were the highlight of the trip and truly well done. The beaches were just okay, and unfortunately the water wasn’t swimmable for our 8- and 11-year-olds, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the water slides were excellent and a big hit with the kids.

The kids club is advertised for ages 12 and under, but in reality it felt much more suited for younger children. The food was better than what we’ve experienced at most resorts, which we appreciated.

That said, the daily pool entertainment and overall atmosphere fell flat. The activities lacked energy and felt more geared toward a much older crowd, which made it less engaging for our family.

Overall, we came away with mixed feelings. While there were some strong positives, it’s not a resort we would return to, especially since we travel to resorts twice a year and look for a more lively, family-friendly experience.

Be prepared to be at the pool by 6:30am if you want a chair—otherwise, you’re likely out of luck. Unfortunately, people tend to reserve multiple chairs and don’t even use them.
There’s no kids club, which I should have confirmed before booking. The food was okay but could definitely use more protein options.

Property and house staff were perfect, but we had a problem w security issue, my daughter purse with phone inside disappeared from a swimm up bar edge around 5pm. We traced the phone and was showing that was still there till 10.15 pm when cleaners left the pool. Then we saw it was on the move, security was still telling us that we will get it tomorrow in lost and found, but 15 min later when traced phone and showed up outside the main gate, then we run with security to check who have it. They catch the worker with my daughter phone, they talk to him for 10 min and let him go home. Im upset becouse when we could find her phone faster, nobody from security was interested helping until we pointed that our phone is outside the property. We spent almost 5 hours to find it ourselves around the pool area and, if we didn't run to the outside bus station to get it, we will never had this phone back.

Our experience was far from the 5-star standard advertised, and it ultimately resulted in my children getting sick. The conditions were so poor that we eventually had to move to another property just to save our vacation. The buffet was unacceptable. Food was rarely served hot and often sat for long periods without being replenished. This is a significant health red flag and likely does not follow basic food safety standards. The menu was repetitive, and the \"clean\" dishes were frequently dirty. Maintenance is dangerously lacking. I had no working outlets in my room for two days and had to hunt across the property just to find a place to charge a phone. Even worse, there were electrical switches with no covers in our bathroom, posing a clear hazard. Most alarming, however, were the lights inside the pool, which were leaking electricity and zapping guests. When we reported this life-threatening hazard to the staff, they were completely indifferent. This level of negligence is staggering.The water park needs attention to maintenance and, inconveniently, has no bathrooms in the immediate area. The bathrooms near the pool are too small for the volume of guests and were consistently unhygienic. While seaweed is natural, the beach was littered with plastic cups and trash; entertainment was the poorest quality I have seen at any Riu property. The staff, particularly at check-in, were rude and unwelcoming. We moved to the Riu Ventura, 5 star professionally managed property.

Staff kept and maintained the property very well.

There were two restaurants that we enjoyed. The steak and international restaurants were the better choice. The buffet for breakfast was good.

The quality of food at the dinner buffet was below average. The other restaurants will spoil your trip.

The club played music all night til 2:00. If you’re on that side of the hotel, expect to hear it all night it was pretty annoying. This is a family resort and would expect them to have lowered the music and accommodate the people sleeping.

The waterslides were fun for the kids.

The staff did not clean the seaweed at the beach

This is a four star hotel but I would’ve given it 3+

Spring break march 17-22/2026. Great time at the Dunamar. Overall staff is wonderful. ALEX AND his entertainment team did an amazing job from pool activities to night entertainment. Buffet was good had some good options. Steakhouse and Kulinarium were the best dinner we had out of all the dinner options. Joseph and Sergio were excellent in serving our family of 11. Sadly last day had some sargassum and a bit challenging to maintain but we got in the beautiful water anyway. Our room was clean and plenty of cold water amd soda on the fridge. Our family had an amazing vacation.

Bamboo restaurant deserves to be a sit down and not a buffet. Steakhouse rib eye steak was mediocre, but the steak at the Kulinarium and Italian were great. Front desk staff and bellboys were great.

Staff were great. The grounds were very well kept. I would like there to have been more things to do for young people/teenagers, especially at night time (to keep them out of trouble). Basketball, pickleball, tennis courts would be a great addition. Also a larger gym with more equipment. Hammocks would b nice . A coffee bar in the morning would be awesome..

Upon check in, the atmosphere''s obnoxious behavior was so overwhelming, the concierge immediately noticed, we were of a different caliber. He transferred us to another RIU and secretly informed the Manager that it was my birthday week. Goodies awaited in our room upon arrival at RIU Latina.

The water park was lots of fun, the rooms are great except the beds are full and not queen.
My only complaint was the food was very bland, didn’t love the buffet after a couple of days the same food is old.
All the restaurants except the Italian one were great, if you want to eat at the steak house make sure you get there early they fill up quick.

Way too big and too many floors to only have one elevator per side. Told them I'm 73 and need a lower floor than the 3rd floor, didn't even attempt to accommodate my request. Just flat out said no. Food was terrible, even in their \"specialty\" restaurants. Basically lived on cantaloupe, honeydew melon, hot dogs, and ice cream. Spent $90US in their shop, some shirts and suntan lotion, and they wouldn't even put the merchandise in a bag unless I paid for the bag. Terrible customer service.

Staff was friendly and professional. Place was about 45 minute drive from airport. Huge variety in food options. Enjoyed the restaurants and buffet as well. Water park and slides were super fun! The so called \"sports bar\" was underwhelming—you had to microwave your own burgers and hot dogs, and the nachos came with artificial cheese. The rooms were unattractive and lacked comfort. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room was large and clean. Staff was friendly. Entertainment was great. Lots of food to eat.
Wasn’t happy that We were unable to remove 1 guest that decided not to come, but other than that everything was very good.

Very small beds in the rooms, in the pools it takes too long to pass the cart service and you have to walk to the bar for a drink.
