This hotel oozes with unique character and style, is in the heart of the town and the manager is amongst the most helpful I have ever come across.
We loved the atrium-style lobby (the central photo for the hotel) the bar stools made to look like champagne cork enclosures and the bedrooms with their unique themes, big comfortable bed and very cool bathrooms.
The manager (Owner?) directed me to the perfect bar to watch the international rugby, the ideal route to go out for a run and even told us about the best place to visit when we moved on down to the Mediterranean coast, a fishing village that was simply beautiful and that I am not sure we would have found without is advice.
Wish we could have stayed longer!! Highly recommend, but be warned, parking nearby is a challenge and I can imagine it gets much worse during spring and summer.

Great Place to Stay
Fascinating old building, lots of character. Room large and pleasant. Good buffet breakfast. Only niggle was that there was only one rather small pillow each - fine for my wife (and presumably, many others) but I really missed having another. I did ask, but it seemed that the, otherwise very helpful and friendly, staff couldn't find one.
Apart from that, we very much enjoyed our stay. The free local buses are a bonus if you're travelling by train - it's quite a long walk from the station!

Fantastic location in the centre of the town lots of car parking options nearby but you will need to walk five minutes to the hotel. Fantastic decor as you walk in the reception and a lovely hotel dog. Rooms are very quirky and definitely worth getting a superior room for the open bathroom!

Unusual, Quirky, Bit like the Owner :)
Was a last minute change due to unsuitability of another booking. Couldn't have been luckier. The hotel is a gem. Breakfasts were something else too, enough for the day for any appetite. It is very central to the centre of Castres, the main square, the Cathedral of St Benoit, museum etc etc. Hope we draw another local team in the ERC so we can go back.

Chose the hotel because of the good reviews and I was not disappointed. We were 8 males on a Rugby trip and stayed from Friday to Sunday. From the moment we walked in we loved it,the building is beautiful and old fashioned. The proprietor was very friendly. The twin rooms were excellent with plenty of space. The lift however was the slowest lift in the world, but at least it worked. All the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was €11 extra, but very much worth it,with all the continental staples of croissants, bread, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cheese and meats. There was fresh orange juice,you could watch the machine juicing the oranges! Tea and coffee was table service.
Location is great,just a stone's throw from the main town square.

A wonderful little town centre hotel
Looking for a town centre hotel and found this wonderful place which was full of unique character. Nicely located in the centre off a side street, the reception area and rooms have a lovely distinctive style which is very welcoming. Car parking is available but is some way away from the hotel, but it is secure and within easy walking distance. Castres is a beautiful little town and well worth a visit.

Lots of character as this hotel seems to be a very old building with a nice mix of in period fittings along with some fresh modern furniture, my room was good, clean and more than adequate, breakfast was continental and good, i liked the freshly squashed orange juicer machine. The owner was really friendly and very helpful, Ideally situated in the centre of a very nice town. I would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed our stay in this somewhat quirky hotel. Although it did lack the use of the central heating system, on what turned out to be a rather chilly weekend in mid-October. Some lack of communication with some non-English speaking staff (but no great problem).

Pour acceder a l’hotel en voiture est un sacré b….. avec le fait de devoir demander l’acces a la police municipale pour faire abaisser les plots afin d’accéder a la rue pietonne permettant de rejoindre l’hotel. Le dit L’hotel indique posseder un parking en specifiant meme avoir un voiturier et quand vous arrivez sur place on vous annonce que pour vous garer vous devez aller a 500 m a vol d’oiseau sur le parking public avec lequel ils ont un partenariat. J’ai des choses sensibles dans la voiture et de devoir faire le chemin a pieds sous la pluie n'était pas ce que j’avais prévu. J’ai donc annulé mon sejour et quel n’est pas ma surprise de voir que l’hotel a quand meme prélevé le montant de la nuit . Je ne recommande pas

Dès l'arrivée vous êtes accueillie par un mot gentil. On m'a donné la possibilité de choisir ma chambre pour un accès plus facile, ce que j'ai apprécié. Je me souvenais de la qualité des chambres, et de leur originalité. La décoration est surprenante et de tres bon goût. Le hall est particulièrement accueillant. Je ferai de l'hotel d\"Europe une etape privilegiee.

Nuit de passage avec ma femme. Hotel \"kitch\", rénové avec goût, un véritable cocooning. Je comprends que les Anglais apprécient.
Un repas unique le soir mais de bon goût et bien cuisiné, un petit déjeuner qui comprend tout ce qu'il faut et un accueil attentionné et des plus chaleureux.

Un hotel surprenant par certains aspects très originaux mais toujours agréable.
Petits déjeuners copieux de qualité pilotés comme ce matin 1er septembre par une grande jeune femme toujours souriante et serviable. Seul bémol, les traces noires (moisissures) qui tachaient ça et là notre salle d'eau, un problème facile à resoudre. Et ce sera le grand bonheur...

D'abord, il faut trouver l'hotel. Très compliqué, il est dans une rue piétonne bloquée par des plots commandés de la mairie. L'hotel en lui même, superbe date de 1870,dans son jus. Ascenceur hydraulique lenteur de rigueur. Personnel aux petits soins. Chambre confortable, bonne literie.

Tout d'abord, malgré leur affirmation ils n'ont pas de parking! Le parking annoncé a 3€/nuit est un parking publique! situé a +/-5min.
Si vous avez plusieurs bagages, si vous avez un hadicap a marché ou du materiel de valeur dans votre voiture c'est donc impossible!
Ou, comme il m'est arrivé, repartir le matin jusqu'a sa voiture en temps de pluie vous attaqué votre RDV clientel en etant trempé.
De plus, fuite d'eau sur la baignoir ( pas de douche ), fuite d'eau au WC avec des taches laissant penser que les fuites ne date pas d'hier.
Un interupteur HS...
En bref, je ne suis pas du genre a laisser des commentaire malgré mes 2 a 3 nuits par semaines en hotel mais celui la merite que je fasse une expeption!

La structure et la décoration de l'hôtel sont un vrai plaisir et une expérience originale. L'accueil est parfait, la position parfaite.

J'attribue sans lésiner un 15/10 au staff, au style, la déco, l'environnement végétalisé, la déco des chambres, l'originalité, le mobilier, la situation géographique dans la ville et j'en oublie. Je précise que j'ai 35 ans de nuitées à l'hôtel et ce partout en France donc cet avis est objectif. Dès l'arrivée vous tomberez sous le charme de l'accueil qui vous est réservé. Elègance, humour et bonne humeur, tout est au rendez-vous. C'est ensuite l'espèce de cocoon végétal dans lequel vous vous retrouvez qui vous invitera à passer un moment de détente et de relaxation bien mérité. Fermez les yeux et laisser vous porter. C'est de la bombe. Spéciales dédicace aux deux dames qui m'ont accueilli à l'arrivée mais aussi à Blandine qui prépare les meilleurs petits déjeuner d'Occitanie :-) Un grand merci à l'équipe et félicitation au investisseurs qui ont donné le jour à cette petite merveille d'hôtel. Longue vie à l'hôtel de l'Europe.

La soirée a été longue… malheureusement les hôtes ne sont pas responsables de l’incivilité des occupants, qui ont souvent tendance à se croire seuls.
