This hotel is located in a busy city, but you would never know this hotel is definitely a hidden jam and a five star standard for Costa Rica and 4 star to Canadian standards. Thank you for a great day.

Villa del Sol Boutique Hotel is a little taste of heaven. It's beautiful, quiet & peaceful, all in it's own immaculate garden/pool environment and only 1 block from the swimmer friendly beach/bay. The staff are very helpful and polite and the tasty breakfast is served in a relaxing and welcoming dining room.

Limited breakfast was the only food option. No restaurant, no snack bar, no drinks available. Room was just a room, nothing special. Beach was a block away. Uber was cheap but a definite must. Staff was very nice. Pool needed cleaning. If you like a hard bed, you’ll love it!

The staff were very welcoming from start to finish. We loved that the beach was only a 3 minute walk from the property and that the pool was well maintained. Rooms were clean and peaceful and the breakfast each morning was delicious. We rented a car, but the downtown area was only a 10 minute walk from us with many dining options nearby. This was a great start to our trip!

This little taste of heaven is so relaxing and welcoming with it's garden like yard, pool and accommodations...and only 1 block from the beautiful and swimmer friendly Playas del Coco. If you want a secure and relaxing refuge without the hustle and bustle of a large hotel with tons of people, this is for you. It is slightly removed from the main shopping area of PdC but walkable with several restaurants within 10 minutes walk.

The room was clean and A/C worked great, and although the bathrooms are a bit cramped and outdated, they worked well for us. They have gated parking. The beach was a quick 4-5 minute walk away which was so nice, and you can easily take a path all the way to downtown. The pool was nice, though a bit warm for the weather! We were able to see monkeys jumping around the trees from the pool. Breakfast was EXCELLENT and staff was so kind! Would definitely stay again.

Great breakfast and the staff were amazing. Great pool as well. 1 block from the beautiful beach with great walking along the ocean to Playa del Coco.

Cool AC, room with everything kitchen wise, no iron though, they have communal hair dryers. Provided pool towels and beach chairs, also have an area outside room with two chairs. Pool was clean, daily breakfast for $10 has a variety ends at 9am though. Staff was very friendly and responsive, allowed late checkout. Elizabeth was very friendly and helped with booking stuff.

This is a wonderful hotel. They organised our transfer from the airport and we were able to buy breakfast when we arrived and use the pool until our room was ready in the afternoon. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk to the town, although there are lots of restaurants closer. The staff were very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend Hotel Villa Del Sol.

Facilities were clean and safe; staff was kind. Breakfast was decent. Hotel is definitely bare bones and in need of some updates…towels worn, beach chairs rickety and there were some issues with the plumbing (shower didn’t drain well, toilet barely flushed). We were in studio 6 and our biggest complaint was the VERY bright outside hall and stair lights that shone in through the windows at night directly into the bed even with the blinds drawn. These should be dimmed after midnight and/or better blinds need to be installed. I had a stairway light shining in my eyes all night and had a hard time sleeping because of it. Howler monkeys also woke us up at 4 am from the trees right outside this unit - not the fault of the hotel, but still something to note. All in all a good value and we would consider staying again, but would not recommend staying in that end unit because of the bright outside stair/exterior lights and the monkeys.

This hotel and their staff were wonderful! The property is well maintained, nicely decorated and the staff is very welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was also lovely and such a welcome bonus! The room was nice with a small balcony, large bathroom, delicious ground coffee provided and a fridge. The property was very relaxed and quiet yet close to town and across from the beach so perfect for both going out and having quiet relaxing time too! I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

I had a lovely week at Villa del Sol Boutique Hotel, travelled with a friend. We wanted to enjoy the sun and relax, it was in the 90's. We had a charming coffee and lunch talk in town, which I highly recommend.
The Superior double Room, Garden View was excellent, room has a narrow deck, with large palm tree in front. The gardens around the property are beautiful, and maintained immaculately by the garden staff, Gabriel and Wilfredo. The stay included a fresh homemade breakfast daily, prepared by Marta, Maria, Elizabeth and Marling, which consists of a delicious fresh fruit salad made on site, and fresh eggs and beans and rice, the typical Costa Rican breakfast or any of three other choices. The marmalade is exceptional, made by one of the ladies. We enjoyed chatting with other guests.
The coffee was Costan Rican brew, of course. My friend asked, and was given the name of the coffee, and we trekked to the supermarket to get a large bag. We hired a taxi daily to take us to town and back, which was very reasonable.The rooms are small, and cleaned daily by the lovely staff, Martha and Maria . There are many areas inside and by the garden and pool to sit, have a drink. There's even a grill and table to make meals. An unexpected treat were the monkeys and rooster with his entourage. Marin is a Gem, made some changes to my reservations smoothly, and helped us set up the TV to watch the football game. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant.

Stayed in a Super clean room right off the main lobby perfect for our stay. Breakfast was excellent and the coffee was superb. Beautiful grounds and pool area. In a nice quiet area of town. Can hear the waves crashing at night and a roster or two as well in the morning.

There is not ocean view from my room, but I love the balcony open to the lush yard. The hotel is very close to the beach, only a few minutes walk, and away from the noise. I loved this hotel! It was exactly what I was looking for - quiet, secure, close to the beach, away from the noisy downtown yet only a short walk to everything. The grounds and pool area are beautiful, so well maintained and wow, the flowers! The staff are so polite and helpful; they made arrangements for airport transportation and fabulous recommendations for excursions and dining. I appreciated the little touches and attention to detail - even the toilet paper looked pretty. My room had a full kitchen, air conditioning, even a ceiling fan. Upgrades had been made to the bathroom fixtures. I exchanged emails with Fatima and she ensured my stay went smoothly. I highly recommend this hotel!

A Costa Rica Feel
If you want to feel like you are actually in Costa Rica, but have modern accommodations, this is the place. Our studio room with kitchen was a little dated but comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The best part was the surrounding gardens where we were visited by monkeys and birds of all types. The pool area was small but very nice. They claim to have a grill area but it requires wood or charcoal so not convenient. It is an easy 1 block to the beach, 1/4 mile to groceries and several bars/Restaurants. Would gladly return.

We got the eco room and it is much smaller than we expected. However the facility is well maintained, lush greenery and 1 block walk coco beach. The coffee is the morning is one of the best coffee I had in Costa Rica, and they offer to pack our breakfast for when we have to leave for our early excursion trip. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

I loved my stay here and already have told friends they must stay here in the future. Everyone was so kind and friendly and breakfast was incredible. The beach access is across the street and it’s a 15 min Uber (7,000 CRC) to Playa Hermosa and also to Playa ocotal. ( eat at Father Roosters).
