This is an inexpensive and adequate option if you don't mind being some distance from downtown, yet close to the airport. There is one buffet diner a few blocks south, and a Lidl and other stores (mall, grocery, bar, convenience store) not far from it. If using public transport, buy single tickets (if you need them) at a convenience store (the timer starts as soon as you buy a ticket from a ticket machine). The room was a reasonable size with comfortable twin beds, a small desk and tv, a hot water pot, and shelves for storage.

I was only there for a few hours on a layover. The room itself was clean. The floors in the common area were filthy as was the shared bathroom. For a night I’m sure it is ok, but long term it’s too dirty in the common areas.

The only good thing about this place is that there is a large parking space. But the facility is not safe, all my food stuff that I kept in the kitchen in the fridge was stolen and I reported yet nothing was done even though there's a camera in the kitchen. There's too much noise in the facility. The doors are not safe, that of my room locked me outside for 12 hours and I call the service manager but yet she couldn't open the door. I had to sleep in my car under snow -7°. Worst experience ever. There's a lot of noise and the receptionist is not always there for I stood there for 30 minutes with no one to attend to me. Toilet are not cleaned. I will not recommend anyone to visit this place and if you do be extremely vigilant and don't keep any food stuff in the kitchen or fridge/freezer unattended.

The worst experience we have has I'm afraid. I understand it's a hostel for a reason, but this was on another level poor. At first we got a triple single beds room, even though I booked a double. The key didn't work, so the whole door nearlt came off. It had not been cleaned. The bedding had been used, it was dirty, plasters on the bed, alcohol bottles in the bin and floor dirty. Went and asked for at least clean sheets. Didn't have any. Then got given a double room. It was better, but very cold and curtains not. covering the huge street light coming in from outside.
Not a fussy type at all, but this was something else!

Cheap, clean but could use some work

What I enjoyed; it was very affordable. 15 minutes from the airport, clean sheets and towels, comfortable bed, relatively clean. The host was friendly and accommodating.
What I disliked: being accosted by drunk/high people immediately after I arrive. The outside looks run down. Our window didn't have a curtain big enough to fully cover so people could see in at night; smoke alarm went off several times at night.

The property is conveniently located on all the major bus routes, so it is very easy to get to. The photos of the hostel are very misleading. The beds are in fair condition, but one can tell they are very dated. It is definitely a party spot. I woke up on both of my nights stay with a male passed out from intoxication outside the bathroom, vomit everywhere, ceramic tiles broken from the decor.

Low price for a reason; isolated location

Front desk was helpful, friendly, and available nearly all through the night. The walls were thin, and I could hear loud neighbors talking essentially all night. When I finally gave up on sleep and tried the shower, I wasn’t sure whether I’d end up dirtier - but tried it just to refresh myself for the last leg of my journey. I booked because it was inexpensive and closer than most cheap options to the airport. All I needed was somewhere to be during a long overnight layover. Unfortunately given the timing of my flights into and out of Helsinki, public transport wasn’t a feasible option (only one bus an hour when I landed, which would’ve taken an hour to get me there). So I ended up spending all that I saved on taxis. Kudos to the helpful and pleasant front desk staff who can’t possibly be getting enough sleep, but I’d advise staying in Helsinki proper. More transport options and just more interesting a location. And hopefully the chance for more restful sleep and cleaner showers.

The directions on the website are not at all helpful to find the hotel. Bus 617 doesn't run late at night. Advised by airport staff to get 615. Unhelpful bus driver couldn't tell me where it was. Travelled in to Helsinki to try and find bus 75 - that doesn't run late at night either. So bus back to the airport and slept there - ten Euros for a late night tour of Helsinki and still no idea where this place is.

The only thing I can rate is the overall - not good! I have scored everything else a 3 for fairness.

I came, I saw, I left.

I checked in. The staff was nice. The hostel building smelled like alcohol and cigarettes. The \"double bed room\" had no windows, was very small, and the beds were 2x2 bunk beds on top of each other (4 beds altogether). General area (kitchen, shower, toilets) seemed so filthy that I decided not to spend any time there. I returned the keys and checked out. Luckily I could spend the night at a friend.

if you want just a room for 1 day, it's ok. If not

I picked the place as it was near the air museum and air port only. The manager was not good, the staff did not know the area.I paid 20 euro's to go to the museum. the driver got lost even with GPS and had to do it the next day. With out a car you are stuck with one bus line to town. The food is not that good bot the size of it is big. Would have been better to go some place else pay more.

Waste of money and time.

There were 2 entrance doors, one of which was locked and neither had a sign stating which one to use. There was no one at the reception desk, and the guy who eventually came over was a cook with broken English. He couldn't find my reservation so he had to call the owner, handed me the phone and made me talk to him about it. He asked me about where and when I made the reservation then told me how much I'd be charged. Uh, no. I pre-paid online. Finally he showed up, looked at my reservation print off and finally found it. I filled out a room card, he gave me a key and the cook helped me with my luggage. Where upon, opening the door, I *did not!* get the room I paid for. Which shows in the picture. Considering his poor English skills and that of the cook, I didn't want to go back downstairs and request a room change.
It was also supposed to be a non smoking room which I figured would be in a non smoking area of the hotel. However, upon my waking, that's all I could smell coming in from the hallway.
The 'curtain' was also a joke, it was barely more than a thick yet fairly sheer material letting in light even at night time.
Checking out was almost pointless. There was a box for the key drop off, but I figured someone would've at least been around the front for any sort of help. I even stuck my head into the kitchen and called out but no one came.

Hiljaista Li kun ei muita asukkaita näkynyt. Ok paikka jos haluaa vain petin missä nukkua muutama tunnin matkan varrella.

Paikka oli nuhjuinen ja vastaanotossa oli nuori, huonosti suomea puhuva työntekijä. Huone oli lattiaa lukuun ottamatta siisti ja sänky oli hyvä. Huoneessa oli vahva haju, kun menin sisään - uskoisin, että tupakkaa on joskus poltettu. Hajua oli yritetty parantaa/peittää huonetuoksuilla ja hajujen yhdistelmä oli hirveä.

Ränsistynyt, huonon palvelun esimerkki

Arkadia on kyllä kaikin puolin huono paikka yöpymiseen. Ainoa positiivinen asia oli hinta, joka on halpa.

Respan asiakaspalvelija otti meidät juuri ja juuri vastaan ja antoi avaimen huoneeseen. Huoneessa haisi todella voimakkaasti vahvalle pesuaineelle, melkein tuli huono olo. Huoneemme televisio ja vessan valo eivät toimineet ja menimme sanomaan valosta. Asiakaspalvelija ei ollut paikalla ja löysimme hänet vasta soitettuamme hotellin puhelinnumeroon. Hän ehdotti, että voisi koittaa korjata vessan valoa sillä aikaa kun olisimme kaupungilla. En suostunut ja saimme toisen huoneen.

Toisessa huoneessa TV ja vessan valo sentään toimivat, mutta sama voimakas haju tervehti meitä. Huoneen lattia oli naarmuilla ja osa lattiasta oli lähes irronnut. Liinavaatteissa oli nukkaa ja kylpyhuoneen lattialla hiuksia. Läpi yön vessanpönttö/putkisto piti ääntä ja kaikki muukin lähistön ääni tuli seinien ja ikkunoiden läpi huoneeseen. Yöllä tuli kylmä ja aamulla huomasin yhdestä kaksikerroksisesta ikkunasta puuttuvan kokonaan toisen lasin. Lisäksi kylpyhuoneen peilihylly oli käyttökelvottoman kiikkerä.

Aamupäivällä lähtiessämme respassa ei ollut ketään, eikä puhelimeen vastattu. Jätimme avaimen sille osoitettuun laatikkoon ja lähdimme.

Rakennus on ulkoa ränsistynyt ja ovikoodin käyttö vaatii nopeusharjoittelua. Rakennuksessa on ravintola, mutta vaikuttaa, että siellä ei ole tarjoiltu ruokaa vuosiin.

Ei tule ikävä tätä paikkaa. Käypä ainoastaan muiden majapaikkojen täydellisesti puuttuessa.

Vastaanotto ystävällistä, osaavaa, joutuisaa ja joustavaa. Huone perussiisti, sängyssä puhtaat vuodevaatteet, sai nukuttua hyvin. siistijöille iso kiitos kun jaksavat siivota. WC/suihkutilat joidenkin asiakkaiden jälkeen törkyiset; he jättivät omia tavaroitaan yhteiseen WC-tilaan, eivät ymmärtäneet, että ne ovat kaikkien käytössä. Onneksi löytyi yksi siisti WC. Keittiössä oli ruoanvalmistustarvikkeita, ruokailuvälineitä ei ollut, niitä olisi varmaan saanut lainaksi vastaanotosta.

Arkadia - good staycation

We had a need for a stay-away in Helsinki during our renovation. So, even as we travelled
as a couple, this was not actually a romantic staycation, more of a escape-to-rest-and-rebuild :)
For this purpose Arkadia provided us with the best experience - room 105 (double with good quality bed)
was silent and very clean, with silent no-noise night, so our rest was v.good indeed.

Arkadia is a hotel/hostel at Tattarinsuo-district, with excellent connections to city-center and airport by car.
Otherwise the district does not have many services, so please prepare to do some transportation
if you have evening plans.

Parts of the hostel are under renovation, which is understable - nevertheless the room 105 was well refurbished; although
not having all bells&whistles (minibar etc) it provided us with good experience overall.

Personnel very kind and helpful, helping us with details we needed for our stay. I can recommend Arkadia for business travellers
with no-nonsense mindset for overnight stays, and in general for travellers needing to stay in Helsinki next to
good connections to major highways.

Ich habe für 40€ das Zimmer gebucht. Beim Ankunft ins Hotel :
1. sollte ich 30 Minuten warten auf Personal. Das Hotel war zu.
2. Statt 40 € wurde von mir 55 € verlangt, die ich auch bezahlt habe. Sonst würde ich kein Zimmer bekommen.
3. Ausstattung im Hotel passt nur für die Obdachlose.

Es ist äußerst peinlich so was den Gästen überhaupt anzubieten!

En varmasti mene uudelleen. Huone oli suht ookoo ja suhteellisen siisti, mutta yhteiset tilat olivat ihan karmeassa kunnossa. Oli vain yksi WC/suihkutila, jossa oli lukko. Se oli tietysti koko ajan varattu. Suihku ja WC-tilat olivat muutenkin aika surkeat ja huonossa kunnossa. Olihan se halpa, mutta en olisi uskonut, että voi olla noin kamala. Todellinen pommien pommi. Hotelli sanan voi jättää pois nimestä. Kuvat \"hieman\" vääristävät\" todellisuutta. Yhteisvessat / suihkut ja keittiö (haisi perus venäläiselle keittiölle). Hostelli rakennettu teollisuushalleihin, joiden ylläpito & siivous unohtunut rakentamisen jälkeen.

Perus duunarille varmaan kelpo paikka, jossa saat sängyn ja tyynyn, mutta nekin kaipaavat muutakin.

Ainut positiivinen asia, kulkuyhteydet lähtevät aivan majapaikan vierestä, mutta hki keskustasta 45min matka julkisilla.

Huoneessa vähintään 35 astetta ja ikkuna aukeaa noin sentin, joten nukkuminen tai ylipäätään hengittäminen mahdotonta. Vastaanotto oli epäselvä ja epäasiakasystävällinen. Hinta epäselvä. Ja paikka oli epäsiisti. Huone todella kylmä ja petauspaljat tosi likaiset, sekä wc tilat epäpuhtaat. Lisäksi todella monesti soi palovarottimet ja häiritsi yöt ja nukkumista

Todella likainen hotelli ja palvelu epäystävällist

Huone ja koko hotelli olivat todella epäsiisti
Lisään kuvia huoneesta ja jossa myös patjat olivat likaiset eikä Wi-Fi toiminut ollenkaan eikä televisiosta näkynyt yksikään kanava
Jääkaapissa oli hometta ja en edes halua tietää mikä tuo pötkäle tuolla on

The hotel condition was poor.
1- WC in room 205 was loosely fitted.
2- Tv was not functional in both rooms. Additionally. TV in room 206 was very small (just like 15-17 inch laptop screen.
3- Floor was very old and had sharp edges. This caused injury on the foot of my child.

Uloskirjauksen kanssa ei pitänyt olla kiire, se oli muistaakseni perinteiseen tappaan klo 12 mennessä.
Myöhemmin varmistin kellosta, että kun rouva tuli ovelle huomauttamaan kellon \"nyt olevan 12\". Kyseinen majatalon/hotellin emäntä vaikutti juuri sellaiseta tädiltä että mikäli hän tulee ilmoittamaan asioiden olevan \"tällä tavalla, niin siihen ei paljon ole vastaan sanomista sillä asiat ovat silloin niin. Huoneet kohtuullisen hyvin varustelllut ja erittäin hyvä ja iso sänky.
Työntekijänä ollut nuorehko nainen ei osannut sanaakaan suomea. Emglannilla pärjäsi toki mutta kun nyt kuitenkin Suomessa ollaaan..
