Lovely little hotel near Geriba beach in Buzios. A little outside the main centre of the town, but daily shuttles made it easy to move around. A little TLC needed in some areas of the hotel, but overall a comfortable stay

Getting Boozy in Buzio's

Overall the stay was fantastic. In certain areas I gave 4 stars not because of any disappointment but because there is always room for improvement. The ONLY negative comments I could make were a couple of ants here and there (not near the bed), the shower door was missing (not really an inconvenience) and that's it.

I went with my girlfriend for a (couples) vacation within a vacation while visiting Rio.

The restaurant, pool, bar, location and staff were all great. English speakers on staff was a plus as we are from the US. I paid more for a one night stay in a Miami Airport Hotel on a connection than I did here. Would go back and will recommend to others.

too expensive for what it is.

Hotel is too expensive for what it is. The value ratio of what you are paying does not match the quality of the place. This is not a 4 star hotel by no means.Rooms are very small and need some maintenance. My front door was rotten and the balcony door wouldn't open all the way. I asked for an iron and there wasn't one in the whole place. There are no near by restaurants, so you are stuck in their place.

Amazing hotel Staff, Grounds, and service

We spent 2 days here and then rebooked a additional day because we enjoyed the resort so much!
We did have a issue with the air condition but the front desk was super efficient in shifting us to a new room and handled all issues with a smile! There were some ants crawling around the room...but keep in mind Serena resort is within a beautiful lush garden and the grounds are immaculate! There are bound to be ants from the garden so this was not a issue for us. We simply told the front desk and they made sure they were gone when we returned that evening! Relaxing pool !( Yes this is a family friendly resort so we were expecting children to be running about so we loved it!)
The location of the Resort is a bit far from the Center of Buzios but with a taxi or if your adventurous like we are... the quick bus! R$2.50 and your in the center! The resort does have a free Shuttle bus service 7 pm-12AM with a reservation that was flawless! We took advantage of their complementary bus tour of Buzios and their Surf lessons on the beach! It was a great stay for us and we will be back!

Not at all what we expected

Let me begin by saying that upon arrival we were \"upgraded\" to the so called apartment that I neither booked not requested. Coming from London I specifically reserved a room with a balcony or an outside area so we could enjoy the fresh air. When we walked into our \"upgraded\" accommodation it was dirty, didn't even have soap, and on top of all that didn't have a single window that opened. Needless to say I called reception right away and asked to be relocated. After a long discussion about how the hotel was fully booked and about an hour wait we were finally moved to another room. This time it did have an outside space and soap, but sadly was just as dirty and rusty as the first one. The highlight of my experience at the so called 4* boutique resort was a meeting with a lovely rat who was sitting just outside my window - a rather unpleasant encounter I shall say. Clearly we will not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone.

Nice hotel close to the beach

We spent an extended holiday weekend with our two kids in Buzios and decided for the Serena because of its location, close to the beach (one block away is the beautiful Geribá beach) and also because we like the \"boutique hotel\"-flair.

The weekend was beautiful and we had a very good time at the hotel, enjoying the nice layout of the hotel grounds and the relaxing atmosphere. The kids loved the pool, although a rather small one, and the kids corner.

Food at the restaurant was good, the Picanha was excellent; the breakfast buffet was very complete. However, the staff could be a bit more attentive (e.g. when we were sitting by the pool, they never offered pro-actively any service; yet if we asked for it, we always got what we wanted)

The rooms are very nice, however the bath-room is minuscule, way too small.

The hotel offers a transfer to the city's restaurant area at night, which is quite convenient.

Wifi is free and available all over the hotel with good quality.

One negative aspect was the smoking: the hotel is Argentinean owned and there is a large presence of Argentineans in the hotel, which actually adds a nice international flair to the hotel. Yet, they seem to care less about not smoking in public areas and the hotel staff did not bother either. Thus, frequently people sitting by the pool or on the terrace of the restaurant were smoking and it was frequent to find cigarette butts in the garden or in the sitting area by the pool, which was not very nice.

The Serena hotel in Buzios is a great and enjoyable place. The hand-on management make sure the guest will receive CONSISTENTLY a professional and high quality service. In hindsight the experience staying at Serena exceeded expectations - they say what they do and they do what they say. The hotel ambience is fantastic, the food in the breakfast is great, the rooms are outstanding. The service is cordial and the whole crew is well trained to offer the guest an incredible and enjoyable experience. Stress free, friendly,fair cost.

Pleasant Stay

I spent one weekend at this hotel with my husband. It was a pleasant stay, with a very nice and clean standard room, good breakfast, nice swimming pool and outside areas. Although we do not have any children, it seems a good place to go with them. Close to the beech with good beach service. Perfect place and calm place to spend a peaceful weekend.

Boutique hotel, not quite 'resort' status

This is a mixed review. \"Resort\" is bit of an overstatement. This is a small, boutique hotel. Stayed in the room they call Superior A.

On one hand...Bathroom and room are TINY and futon tatami style beds are very low to the ground..Seating is outside the entrance. Good for a night or two, but any more than that and it gets claustrophobic with two people. There isn't really any place to put your luggage. We did have tiny little bugs (ants but way smaller) near the sliding door and there wasn't really any place to elevate suitcases to keep them off the ground. And from the bathroom, I spotted a very large, local type of rodent walking along the awning.

Nice surprise in the outdoor tub and private sitting area. High ceiling helps make the room feel much larger than it is. Tastefully decorated and comfortable for a short stay. Excellent breakfast. Hotel staff are excellent and accommodating.

They have designated seating and umbrellas at the beach, which is a one minute walk away. Small pool area. The centro is where the action is, so you need to take a taxi or shuttle to get there. Hotel has a shuttle after 7 pm. Location is not the best, but it depends what you are looking for. on the \"would you recommend\" question, I wish there was an option for \"maybe\". I expected more.

I had the impression that this Hotel was on the beach...but it is not...you have to walk a block...and the beach is packed...not private at all. Breakfast was amazing...but dinner was horrible...recommend to eat outside the Hotel.

We took this hotel just by chance for our two day stay in Buzios during our trip to Rio. Felt it was good value for money.
A surprise waited us upon arrival, to this nice and somewhat secluded hotel, with a nice garden adjasent to the bar and restaurant as well as the pool with sun deck.
The Geriba beach is only a few minutes walking away, where the hote have staff providing sun chais, umbrellas and towels.
But wat really topped the stay was the staff, happy and friendly and always ready to do that little extra, making our brief stay a little extra.

Has potential...

So the place has potential. First of all, it's not a resort. Drop any notion of a resort lest you be disapointed. The staff were great. The room was only OK... Lot's of ants crawling around in several parts of the room. The bed on the floor thing, I get what you're going for, and sure, it makes a really small room look a little bigger, but whatever. The TV was also a joke- I think there were 5-6 channels that came in.

But again, the good news is there is potential. I think it's an alright place for a great deal, but I wouldn't put it in my list of suggestions for friends. One thing to note to- helpful if you speak Spanish, I only spoke with one employee who spoke English, so being able to speak Spanish was really helpful.

Sweet place in Buzios!!!

This hotel is of very good quality for the reasonable price charged. It is definitely a couples hotel, very romantic and quiet, not too cool for young backpackers....they should go downtown. Overall, the location, food, bar, rooms and staff are amazing, oh yeah and again the price can't be beat!!!

Not recomended for couples, the standard rooms for couples is really small.
The wireless connection does not work and nobody seems to bother.
The frigo bar has very tiny bottles of water and overpriced.

The staff were extremely accomodating and many of them spoke a variety of languages. The facilities were family friendly without being over run with children. The nearby beach is phenominal, one of the greatest in the area. It's really a wonderful place! The only down side was that the retaurant was very expensive as far as dinners are concerned, but there are many local places to grab a less expensive meal.

Lovely hotel in Buzios

Room needs little more details, but the service is where they shine.
They let us check in early around 8am with free upgrade and one lady spoke really good english which is not common in Brazil.
Location is about 200m from one of better beaches in Buzios, but 20 minutes away from downtown. However they offer free shuttle bus to other beaches/downtown, as well as many activities including free surfing lesson!
Breakfast was nice, but there were many many bees as it was half open area.
We would love to go back to this hotel anytime.

Great Brazil Vibe.

Serena Buzios is a stylish hotel. Other than the few children (these just happened to be loud), the hotel atmosphere has a good vibe with relaxed brazilian music playing in the common areas around the pool bar. The staff, though limited in english speakers, made much effort to assist with rental cars, transfers, etc. The location is ideal for spending relaxing days at the beach in Geriba (a five minute walk). The beach service with towels and umbrellas is a huge benefit, especially on days when the beach is crowded. Definitely take advantage of the surf lessons, as this is one of the most ideal locations to learn (shallow soft sandy beach with consistent gentle waves!) Buzios doesn't get much better.

Very nice place with friendly staff

My wife and I stayed there for 4 days in early September. We had a loft room which was very nice. Private little garden, flat screen TV, comfortabe bed. Hotel staff was great, and tom kept very clean. A few minutes walk from Geriba beach, and they have chairs and umbrellas for guests there. Breakfast was okay; one problem was that room opened to outside and the pastries were covered by bees! We ate at reestaurant one night, not impressed. There is a shuttle service between the hotel and other beaches during the day, and from hotel to/from dowtown at night. Otherwise taxi about 20 reals. They arranged a private shuttle (a car for only my wife and I) to Rio airport for 70 reals/person, which is pretty cheap. Taxi drivers were quoting about twice as much for the 100 mile ride. The grounds are nicely manicured and cared for well. The pool is a shallow onek, but it didn't matter as beach is so close and nice.

Vale a pena!

localização perto da praia de geribá (3 min andando) e com serviço de toalhas, cadeiras e barracas de praia disponiveis e incluídas. quarto confortável com cama e banho bons, área comum espaçosa. Café da manhã variado (não gostamos do ovo mexido e achamos os pães e bolos duros, mas o restante estava muito bom). O atendimento pode melhorar - Tivemos um mal entendido quanto a reserva do quarto com meu bebê, mas foi resolvido. Houve uma situação em que pedi ifood no quarto um dia a noite e pedi para nao ligarem pro meu quarto e falarem por whatsapp ou ligar pro meu celular pois o bebê estava dormindo e por 2x o funcionario da recepção ligou pro quarto, além da demora enorme no pedido de 1 aperitivo no quarto do hotel que acabou chegando após o término do nosso jantar do ifood (que demorou 60 minutos). Ou seja, existem pontos a serem ajustados, mas é uma ótima opção de hospedagem.

Primeiramente, nao tivemos boas impressões da acomodação, compramos o quarto superior B, mas fomos alocados em um quarto terreo bem ruim, porem nos deram uma solução no terceiro dia e resolveram, o atendimento do pessoal do restaurante é muito bom, café da manha poderia ser melhor, sem contar que no último dia nosso quarto amanheceu inundado, a piscina é boa, mas precisa de uns reparos, pois as madeiras estao apodrecidas e os pregos saindo, correndo risco de um incidente, principalmente para quem viaja com crianças, mas no geral considero boa a hospedagem.

Me hospedei no serena dos dia 22 a 24 julho com marido e 2 filhos. Ficamos no loft. Hotel precisa d e manutenção nos banheiros com ladrilhos soltos, porta emperrando, ar condicionado estragado no primeiro dia( depois foi solucionado), madeiras deck piscina irregulares, gramado precisando ser aparado. Já estive no Serena em outras 2 oportunidades. Sempre ótimas. Dessa vez me decepcionei. Café da manhã ok

Lugar incrível, com serviço praia, tivemos o privilégio de ter um show de sax durante o happy hour, o ponto negativo é, se tiver que fazer um last check out, eles não tem um vestiário para isso, e terás que usar o chuveiro da psicina para tomar banho e seguir viagem. Do resto muito bom.

Não condiz com as fotos. Área da piscina com almofadas de couro cheias de mofo. Limpeza do quarto deixa a desejar. Café da manhã simples e igual todos os dias. Hóspedes podem fumar durante o café da manhã. Nada educado pra quem está com crianças. Zero hospitalidade dos funcionários. Saímos um dia antes porque não tinha condição de ficar num local assim. Fijam desse local. Ao menos que não se importem com má conservação e hóspedes fumando desde a área da piscina ao café da manhã.

Hotel muito bom, perto da praia, com estrutura na praia (o que é um grande diferencial em Geriba ). Equipe super educada e atenciosa. A parte de alimentação poderia ser melhor, com mais opções no cardápio. Tenho intolerância a lactose e no café da manhã não existe nenhum opção para casos como o meu. Os quartos são bons, a cama excelente, os banheiros são muito pequenos. Falta tomadas nos quartos para carregar celulares e outros aparelhos.

Voltaria outras vezes em outra acomodação

Pontos positivos: Café da manhã incrível. Ponto alto da minha estadia. Muito bem servido, funcionários incríveis. Tinha muitas opções e com área climatizada para tomar café.
Atendimento sem comparação, funcionários todos atenciosos. Nos ajudavam com tudo.
Estacionamento perfeito, o que ajuda em geriba. Eles tem dois lugares pra estacionar, o que ajuda muito quando enche. Achei bem legal que no dia que cheguei tarde tive que colocar no segundo estacionamento que é uns 50 metros da pousada. Um funcionário ficou na rua nos aguardando.
Estrutura piscina climatizada e área externa. Sem defeitos

O que podia melhorar
Primeiro o próprio site induz a gente ao erro na escolha do quarto. As imagens diziam uma coisa, não reparei na descrição e acabei pegando um quarto inferior. E com preços mais altos sem razão nenhuma. Decepcionada com isso
O que mais nos incomodou foi estrutura do quarto. Sinto falta de uma reforma no quarto porta meio quebrada, parede descascando, piso do box bem ruim e inclusive minúsculo.
Mas o pior foi o ar condicionado. Que gelava muito pouco pelo tamanho do quarto. Sentimos calor na maioria dos dias.
E por fim acústica, literalmente dá pra ouvir tudo do quarto do lado. Os quartos tinham uma porta dividindo com outros. Achei isso bem ruim. Pois tinha criança no quarto ao lado. E muitas vezes acordávamos mais cedo por isso. Assim como dava pra ouvir tudo. Pelo preço achei surreal. Paguei 1.200 em dois dias.

Por fim, voltaria, mas em um quarto melhor.

Poderia melhorar toalhas e roupa de cama, além da formiguinhas no quarto. Ofurô no quarto é minúsculo, não cabe um adulto, não vale a pena pagar a mais por ele.

Uma boa opção em Geriba

O hotel e pequeno e charmoso. Tem piscina aquecida. Café da manhã muito bom. Os quartos são pequenos, gastaram espaço fazendo um “quintal” minúsculo com uma banheira que mal cabe uma pessoa. O hotel não fica na beira da praia, mas uns 5 min de caminhada, na rua de tras e há estrutura do hotel na praia de Geriba.

Hotel com otima infraestrutura, excelente restaurante. Entretanto, em nosso quarto existiam muitas formigas e a pia do banheiro estava entupida. Embora que tenha reclamado de ambos os itens em quase todos os dias da hospedagem, a manutenção/limpeza nao conseguiram resolver.

Passei dois dias maravilhosos na Serena. Do check-in ao check-out o atendimento foi 10. Equipe extremamente atenciosa! Quarto bastante confortável! Restaurante e serviços de bar ótimos! Adoramos nossa estadia no Serena. Tivemos uma experiência maravilhosa. Apenas um detalhe quanto ao quarto que tem uma porta para o quarto ao lado que acaba ficando com muito barulho mas falamos sobre essa situação com o Fernando que prontamente mudou o nosso quarto. O atendimento da equipe como um todo é excelente. Curtimos muito o Sax ao entardecer. Obrigado pelos \"mimos\" deixados no quarto pelo nosso aniversário de casamento. Esperamos voltar em breve. Um agradável hotel em Geribá

A primeira impressão do hotel é muito agradável, a começar pelo atendimento na recepção. O ambiente externo é muito bem cuidado, com uma bela área verde e bastante espaço para curtir a piscina e relaxar nas muitas cadeiras espalhadas.
O quarto em que ficamos era bem amplo, incluindo uma varanda deliciosa com um pequeno sofá. Em geral, tudo foi ótimo apesar da presença inesperada e desagradável de uma barata no quarto, à noite. Eu e minha mãe temos verdadeiro pavor deste inseto, e pedimos ao rapaz da recepção um auxílio para nos livrarmos da \"convidada\", no que fomos prontamente atendidas. Não posso negar que o susto estragou um pouco a primeira noite...mas tirando isso, a estadia foi agradável. Não tivemos sorte em relação ao tempo, o que foi uma pena, pois não pudemos experimentar o serviço de praia de hotel. A praia de Geribá é pertíssimo, um dos motivos por eu ter escolhido o Serena.
No mais, um agradecimento ao staff, especialmente aos dois rapazes que trabalham no restaurante em turnos, muito atenciosos e simpáticos.
Pretendo voltar para ver se o tempo colabora e assim poderemos aproveitar tudo que o hotel tem a oferecer.

Muito bom. O café tem muitos itens, embora possa ser mais completo. A área de jardins é bonita e bem conservada. A piscina tem um tamanho suficiente, com parte destinada a crianças. O quarto tem boa área, com cama confortável e bom ar condicionado, mas o banheiro merece uma pequena reforma. Os funcionários são cordiais e muito prestativos. No geral, justifica o custo benefício. Voltaríamos outras vezes.

O Serena é sempre maravilhoso!!! Hotel tem um ambiente super gostoso. Funcionários são atenciosos, cordiais e prestativos. As acomodações são confortáveis, bem decoradas. Ficamos no Quarto Superior A, com um agradável jardim de inverno com hidro; prefeito para casal. O Loft, que já ficamos outras vezes, é maravilhoso pra família. As crianças amam ficar no mezanino. E o espaço do quarto é bem distribuído.

Quartos amplos. Existe a opção de ambientes separados nos quartos. Área da piscina é agradabilíssima. Destaque para o serviço, foram incansáveis em nos agradar. Localização quase na areia de Geribá. Bom café da manhã. K ok Uma das coisas que mais nos cativou foram as várias gentilezas que o hotel nos fez. Todas as solicitações foram atendidas com ótima vontade e presteza.

Razoável, caro pelo que oferece.
Atendentes educados e ganhamos welcome drink e massagem de 15 minutos nos pes! Serviço de praia excelente porém com preços bem elevados e piscina aquecida, entretanto é pequena quando o hotel está cheio.
Café da manhã muito pobre e louças mal lavadas. Quarto bem pequeno, sem mesa ou suporte para usar notebook.
Frigobar vazio. E serviço de limpeza não repõe itens de higiene diariamente, tivemos que economizar sabonete.
Estacionamento no local muito pequeno, mas oferecem outro estacionamento alguns metros do local.

Achei realmente que fosse mais do que aparece no site. Limpeza ok, qnd cheguei tinha uma mosca morta em cima da cama.
Parece que o hotel precisa de uma reforma urgente. Agendamento para tomar café por conta da pandemia, até aí tudo bem. Porém se chegasse 10min antes, os garçons não poderiam servir antes, só realmente no horário agendado (lembrando que estava pagando a estadia normalmente), não entendi o pq de não servir 10min antes.
Nenhum guarda sol na beira da piscina, não poderia estar direto, mas sendo uma solicitação do hóspede, pq não ter?
Os funcionários da recepção bem atenciosos, porém pelo o que preço de pagamos deveria ser muito melhor a infra, limpeza, até mesmo a gastronomia que achei super simples, ainda mais se tratando de um hotel Boutique.

Foi uma experiência muito agradável. Estávamos eu, minha esposa e nossa bebê de 1 ano. Haviam outras famílias hospedadas com crianças com faixas de idade próximas a nossa. Muito próximo a praia, piscina aquecida, música ambiente, atendimento cordial, nosso quarto (suite) sermpre bem arrumada. Sugestões: necessário mínimo 2 lixeiras no apartamento, café da manhã com bolo e maior variedade de opções, atendentes com comandas para os hóspedes assim que se sentarem preencherem com escolhas do que desejam no café da manhã visando facilitar chegada de uma unica vez, evitando esfriar ou fora do hábito da pessoa na seleção/sequência do que comer.

Muito bom o hotel! Os atendentes super atenciosos. Pelo preço esperava um pouco mais do quarto. Achei pequeno e nem ficamos no quarto standard. Pagamos o quarto superior que tem o ofurô (que só coube meu marido)! Café da manhã muito gostoso e garçons muito educados. Um dos motivos de eu ter fechado esse hotel era o traslado até o centro de búzios, mas por conta da pandemia esse serviço foi suspenso.

Excelente. A pousada é muito bonita e tem um espaço privilegiado. Equipe muito atenciosa. A praia fica a uns 2 minutos de caminhada, já o centro de Búzios fica um pouco longe. O restaurante da pousada só serve o almoço, mas a comida é bem gostosa e os preços razoáveis. Pretendo voltar no futuro.
