The grounds were very nice with well kept gardens and also a great poor area to relax at. The room was spacious, with a big bathroom and open area by the bath. To reach the room upstairs the stairs were quite steep but the room was spacious and had nice views over the surrounding fields. There is also a restaurant on site which is convenient and there were a range of options for breakfast. Travel to and from to Ubud and attractions was easy (both taxi and free shuttle) and staff were friendly and happy to help. The only downfall of our stay was that we did not have any wifi, and the staff were unable to fix it (may be because our room was far from the front desk ), which was a bit frustrating but apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet garden property close to Ubud

Warm welcome on arrival and access to room immediately.
We started in one room but were shifted to another the next day. Our first room had a very hard bed and I asked for a mattress topper, this wasn't available but they offered us the room next door with the same level. The first room had a narrow bath with shower overhead which for a 70+ year old was a bit difficult climbing in and out. Second room ticked all the boxes, comfortable bed, big airy bathroom with designated shower area. A step down from the bed area was a comfortable room with lots of light and sofa to rest on.
To us there was no comparison between the 2, the second was so much more pleasant to stay in.
This room was next to the library - lounging garden area with the spa treatments just off if. We had a spa treatment, in fact I had 2 and they were both very relaxing.
There is a restaurant and separate bar on the property and we ate and enjoyed the food at both. Their shuttle service is frequent and very helpful.
Suggest you ask for one of the refurbished rooms. Because we are considering a family holiday we also looked at the cottages which held 4 with 2 beds upstairs, these also had a connecting room which would be suitable for a larger family, or can be hired out separately.

Friendly Staff, Quiet Oasis

Beautiful Cotteges with a Traditional Forest Feel. Very quiet & relaxing. Beautiful & friendly staff. We stayed in a superior cottege which was big & generous in size, clean & modern appliances. Watch out for the mozzies though! Normal in Ubud though due to the soroundings.
Wifi was disappointing as it only worked sometimes & breakfast could be improved, not much choice & they always ran out of food.
Overall though great place!

Probably the best hotel value in Bali

Had a great stay at Taman Harum Cottages. The grounds aren't \"like\" a garden--they ARE a garden. My cottage was clean, cool and picturesque. What's more was that the affordability of Taman Harum allowed me to explore MUCH more of Bali on my budget. It was my launching point for SCUBA excursions to the south and canyoning to the north. If you decide to stay here, don't forget to check out the on-grounds pizzeria and wood-carving shop. I would definitely stay with Taman Harum again.

Lovely staff, poor location

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The resort is a little old but has a lot of culture to it. It is a 15 minute drive to ubud so the location is a problem. The hotel provide a free shuttle service to ubud which is great.

Excellent Balinese Environment

A mix of tradition and modernity mixed in this picturesque environment.

The staff is excellent: the manager Ms. Foresty and the assistant manager Mr. Balik were most efficient in meeting the customers' needs.
The restaurant in the premises is a great help for customers coming at odd hours during the day. The kitchen staff is friendly and also ready to assist with your special requests although there is a set menu.

Taman Harum was an Oasis! We loved the secluded lifestyle, inside the busy world of Bali.The staff couldnt do enough for us. They drove us anywhere we wanted to go in Bali, and looked after us so well.
We were very sad to leave them and return to Australia.

Beautiful hotel grounds, but not the best sleep

Very pretty area, but the bed and bathroom need help. Our room was very close to a bunch of chickens that woke us up at 5am both mornings, also the shower was not the best as it was outside and pretty buggy. Overall, I'm happy we stayed there but I probably would stay somewhere else closer to Ubud center next time.

Nice quiet getaway

The hotel staff were the first noticeable thing about my stay, very happy and very accommodating; even with my 2AM arrival time (need to just email them ahead of time to confirm arrival outside of check-in hours).
The pool is smaller than it appears, but still a reasonable size for the size of the hotel. There are gardens lining every path and wild finches everywhere in the trees and birdhouses.
The restaurant was fine and had a complimentary breakfast that they seem willing to swap certain dishes around for which gives a good amount of options each morning, suck as swapping out the American option of bacon, eggs and toast with pancakes, etc. One negative about the restaurant, you need to be VERY specific about what you order if you wish for any type of change in their menu. For example, I ordered the seafood platter one night and asked for it not to be grilled but fried. So instead of battering the food, they simply put the food into the deep frier. Worst point of my stay, but I could see how under the circumstances it wasn't entirely their fault. Just be thorough with explaining things to the restaurant.
The free shuttle service was invaluable, the most I used on one day was three return trips to Ubud centre, which they were more than happy to do. Just be aware that ANYWHERE else, no matter how close to the hotel or in Mas where the hotel is actually located, if outside of Ubud, the price is very high for travel, but still accommodating.
All in all, very pleasant.

Staff are very lovely and they went above and beyond to accommodate me during my stay. There is a little ginger kitten who hangs out by the pool, I bought him food and water bowls and left some food with the staff and told them to feed him. Please make sure you feed \"Whiskas\" if you stay here : )

Peace and Calm off a busy road

The photographs of the hotel led me to hope that the gardens and outlooks would be serene and green, and the real thing did not disappoint. As a keen gardener, I found a lot to look at and take notes. There were butterflies and birds and the constant background of trickling water. I loved our rooms, which were colonial style with a mezzanine sleeping area. The stairs were very creaky, and the airconditioner did not seem to crank out as well as I would have liked, but my two teenagers had no complaints. The restaurant was clean and prices were reasonable considering overheads etc, but obviously nothing like street vendor prices. Dinner for three our first night was around $20Australian, which was with just juices and water, no dessert, I thought it pretty reasonable, but did not like the 21% tax added to it. Nothing like that on the streets though. The free breakfast we got was also really good value as we loaded up on carbs with Fried rice or noodles, then hit those shops and galleries. It was really great to have the free driver service to the town of UBUD which we used every day, a saving on taxi or bus fares. Really, the staff from gardeners to cleaners to kitchen and reception were all friendly, kind and most welcoming. I would definitely stay there again. The supermarket across the street was great for replenishing the minibar and all the snacks that ravenous teens could eat, including the seaweed flavoured PRINGLES....try them...they were good.

Beautiful Balinese Wedding Ceremony

We had wonderful stay. The hotel manager arranged for us to have a Balinese Wedding Ceremony, which was a surprise for me as my 'husband' had pre arranged the details with the manager. It was a beautiful and special day. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely like to stay again.

Good place to explore Ubud on the cheap

As a base to explore Ubud and the surrounds it was great. They had a free shuttle service all around Ubud. Bedroom and bathroom fine, comfortable and spacious. No soap or hand towels in the bathroom but it had shampoo and conditioner. Lounge room a little small, no kettle for tea/coffee a bit disappointing, We missed this a lot. Pool and surrounds wonderful. Room service food was a bit disappointing. However, we would overlook these shortcomings and go again anyway. Our room was not entirely sound proof and heard door slams and yelling.

Charming cultural hotel

Hotel is older but has unbeatable charm and culture. Hotel grounds are filled with beautiful statues and ornate doors. It even has a wood-carving statues gallery and store. The staff is wonderful!! So warm and welcoming and accommodating. The shuttle is also a great benefit. We were bummed, though, that the massage/spa and meditation that were advertised were not available. Hotel was quiet and the grounds were beautiful.

Inexpensive and ideal location

Really nice place to stay, particularly given the price. Very close to Ubud and easy to get from Mas to every other part of Bali. The hotel is well-maintained and the restaurant has a good variety of food. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. It's also about as wheelchair accessible as you can find in Bali. Ask for room 201 or 202 if you're in a chair - you'll only have one small step to get in. The shower is essentially roll-in as well and the bathroom is huge.

It was a good experience. The resort was very well furnished with many statues and paintings that carry the cultural heritage being placed around in the whole resort. There was also a gallery of figurines for tourists to look around.

The room was generally very clean and well decorated too, again with the batik paintings and rustic furniture that represented their balinese culture and heritage.

The staff was very helpful too and their free shuttle service to ubud made it very easy for travellers to travel to and fro.

A great base for exploring Ubud

Lovely hotel with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. The staff were very welcoming and helped me to find out about the area, recommending places to visit and helping me book some trips out. The hotel is a short distance from Ubud centre but they will run you in or pick you up whenever you need to go. Enjoyed some of the onsite craft activities and spa treatments too. I ended up staying here a few extra days and would have stayed longer had i not had to return home.

Great experience

This was the first time that I had travelled alone and the hotel made me feel so welcome! The shuttle service dropped me off in Ubud whenever required and pucks me up with a phone call so I did not have to pay for taxis once. The layout of the row was lovely and very traditional Balinese. While I was staying the hotel was having a refurb and I am very excited to go back and see the new rooms!

It was nice quiet location. very serene and relaxing. the pool was perfect, the landscape and room have a nice organic feel because of the stone interiors. definitely a must for couples or people who want to get away for awhile. i must say that this is not a good place for people who travel alone as it can get really quiet, unless you like that. Overall, good place, nice location in Ubud plus the staff is very helpful. Price and experience ratio makes this a bargain!

Staff were very helpful. They gave use an opportunity after checking out to shower and freshen up before leaving for the airport. Joining single beds to make a double is not comfortable. It would be great if there were coffee making facilities in the room. Room 216 needs maintenance - shower pipe was reported faulty and not repaired.

My favourite hotel yet!

I love this place! It's like being in the middle of a tranquil rainforest, with all the comforts you could want. Tarum Haman is beautifully designed, combining Bali's natural beauty with the grace of its arts and friendly hospitality. The pool is beautiful, the food is divine, the staff are marvellous, the rooms are comfortably appointed. And such character and charm! This is no fixed-pattern hotel, devoid of personality. Here, there are galleries, art everywhere, cultural workshops and flowes everywhere. I will absolutely stay here again. The only drawback is that the hotel is some distance from Ubud, but they offer a free shuttle bus into town, so it is a minimal inconvenience. Stay here. You will love it!

Gorgeous and easy stay in a beautiful hotel

Amazing grounds and super-helpful staff, they all went out of their way to accomodate our every need - the hotel shuttles were like a private taxi service, available whenever you needed them and they also operated outside of the 9am - 10pm operating hours twice to take us to various activities we had planned (including a 6.15am departure). The hotel has a gorgeous and very underused swimming pool, the grounds are green and well kept with flowers and artwork everywhere, free water every day, air-con, hot water, very quiet and relaxing stay. Lots of activites offered by the hotel but no pressure to book - they booked a couple of things for us with other companies when we decided we preffered their programme and the hotel also offers cultural activities like learning how to make a temple offering or a sunrise walk in the rice paddies for around 5 english pounds - both were amazing. Highly reccomend.

Very nice hotel and the rooms were very authentic in design, we were very happy with the place. Only negative was the distance to Ubud, the reason we chose this place was it's close proximity to the town centre,which I am sure it said was only 5 or 10 mins walk! Alas this was not the case but there was the free shuttle service to get you back and fore. Pool was nice, and the outdoor bathroom was pretty cool. I enjoyed my midnite bath whilst the rain poured down. Would recommend no problem to others.

Glorious construction music at the hotel, lulling us from a sound sleep and encouraging us to venture out...
Nice setting, great looking hotel and walkway; unfortunately the wifi is low quality and poor reception, the 'open bathroom' didn't have a wall high enough to give my wife comfort (I kinda liked it...), but they were nice enough to move us to a second story room - however the A/C was not very strong, but they were nice enough to provide us with another fan. Hot water cut off during a shower and they said would be a few minutes as they were changing water sources (so no big deal). Quite far from town, but free shuttle and willing to take us back and forth nicely. Breakfast was ok, but they were willing to cook my eggs longer so that was nice.

Booked one night - ended up staying for three

Some of the best service I have experienced in Bali. The hotel staff were treating the guests as family members, so in stead of just staying there one night as originally planned, we ended up staying for three great days.
The hotel is located a bit outside Ubud but the free shuttle service makes up for that. We never waited more than 15 minutes for the bus to pick us up and bring us to where ever we wished.
Great pool area too.
I can indeed reccommend the Taman Harum Cottages

Taman Harum in Mas - great scenery!

Its location was great, it was far enough away from Ubud that it was quiet, but still close enough. The hotel provided free shuttle service to Ubud as well, which was great. It's located in Mas Village, which is the center of woodcarving in Ubud.

The hotel itself was very nice, the restaurant was very affordable, as was the tours the hotel offered. And the hotel offered many great activities, from tours of the island, to cooking classes, massages, wood carving, and scenic walks through rice fields.

I was in a Standard room. The room itself was clean, but had the feeling of a 3.5 star hotel (which it is). There was chipped paint on the walls, not much furniture, and only local channels on the TV. There were a lot of families with children staying there, so perhaps we just got a bit unlucky with the room, or maybe the other rooms are much nicer. They appeared to be from the outside at least.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The pool was clean and was always in use by kids during the day, the restaurant was nice, the food was very good, and the staff was very friendly. And free wi-fi! It was very nice.

Good location

I stayed there for 4 nights. Hotel provide free transportation to Ubud town. Staff there are very friendly. The restaurant provide a good food for a reasonable price. However, the room was not soo clean and the bathroom is not totally closed to outside and it is at the first floor and the bad in the second, so my wife was afraid to go to bathroom at night alone. But the overall is good taken apart the bathroom.

Taman Harum Cottages Ubud Bali

The garden of the complex was gorgeous, however so much greenery resulted in my room being incredibly damp and smelly. The necessary maintenance on the hotel has not been kept up - and it looked quite tired and shabby in places. The power outlets in my room sparked when I plugged things in, which left me too uneasy to use them. However the room and all areas of the hotel were clean. The outdoor bathroom was a nice touch, but unfortunately meant the bath was shared with ants/centipedes/frogs! The staff were friendly, although very pushy to book you in for one of the tours offered by the hotel (! did a volcano tour through the hotel and was extremely disappointed). The shuttle service into Ubud town was available whenever I asked, and the vehicle was new and comfortable. I tried the food in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner - and found each meal awful. The spa facilities were not a patch on others offered at nearby hotels. I would not stay at this hotel again. Although it was cheap, I think that you could pay a little more elsewhere and get a lot more for your money.

Peaceful Magic of Bali

I chose this hotel because of its special offers for activities in Bali--they were wonderful. I took the early morning rice paddy walk and the cooking class. Both were amazing--such a nice way to feel the atmosphere of the country. The hotel staff was so courteous and pleasant, always willing to answer my questions and help me personalize activities. The restaurant was delicious. The pool was great. I also enjoyed a spa treatment. My neighbors were also happy with the hotel. A hotel shuttle was provided to get to Ubud, and it was fine when I wanted to go to a local evening dance. I chose this hotel to be away from the main area and it was great for me.

Tranquility in Bali

Taman Harum is an extremely peaceful, tranquil place. I felt so relaxed when I stepped onto the property. Of course the staff is very friendly, as are all the Balinese.
My only complaint is that after it rained my suitcase was completely soaked----evidently the corner of the room isn't rain proof. Don't know of a tactful way to warn your clients of water leaks, but there was a ton of room to put it somewhere else. Oh well.
The food at the restaurant is extremely inexpensive and tastes good. We didn't feel the need to go anywhere else to eat.
The laundry service is also inexpensive and the service was great.
We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of their classes, so I have no recommendation either way on those.
The hotel offers free shuttle service and we desperately needed it 2 hrs. before they normally offer it, and they arranged our transport with no grumbling.

Taman Harum paradise in Ubud

What a beautiful place to stay and relax. You could easily believe that I was in an out of the way paradise. The hotel area was so green and colorful and clean. Staff were super helpful and friendly. They did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

No value for money.

Sadly very disappointed with everything at this hotel, from the location, to the rooms, and facilities. The service was extremely poor, the bathrooms are very old and basic, as are the rooms which are dank and dark. I would not recommend this hotel for this price. Even if it were half the price, could still not recommend it.

very beautiful would love to return

arrived late but welcomed with beautiful cocktail and lovely helpful staff who carried our luggage to equally beautiful air conditioned room.Lovely gardens and pool. Beautiful breakfast and happy smiling faces wherever we walked.Also free shuttle bus to centre of town. Very enjoyable experience.

鍵が錠前🔒。MasのPasar徒歩圏内でJalan Jalanを楽しみました。私の部屋は大丈夫でしたが他の部屋でシャワーが水しか出なかったとかありましたがコスパを考えたらそんなこともあるかなと…(^^;
レストランも併設されているし田園の中で小さいけど綺麗なプールも楽しめました。
ウブドあたりをゆっくり過ごすのに良いと思います。

Dormir sans bruit environnant la nuit a été ce que j’ai le plus apprécié !
Le personnel est très gentil.
Ce que je déplore est qu’il ont une très belle piscine mais elle n’est pas entretenue elle était très sale pendant tout le mois où j’ai été la, même si j’ai eu plusieurs discutions avec surintendant qui me promenait quelle serait nettoyé ! Ensuite l’hébergement n’est pas du tout ce que nous voyons sur les photos, terrasse inutile en plein soleil sans équipement, chambre très sombre et mal équipé!

Fantastische ervaring!

Geweldig mooi en liefdevol onderhouden tuin, mooie cottages, en bovenal ontzettend lief en behulpzaam personeel.
Onze zoon is te backpacken in Azië en we hebben samen een week doorgebracht bij Taman Harum, hij was die week jarig en de kok heeft een mooie taart gemaakt die ze zingend kwamen brengen, erg ontroerend!
Het complex ligt eigenlijk vlakbij het plaatsje Mas 7 km van Ubud en heerlijk rustig
Absoluut een aanrader!
