This is not a hotel for foreigners.

1.Room for 4 Travelers does not mean you get enough beds. Booked an Executve suite for our family of 4 and was told by the manager that we needed to pay extra for cots for our kids (11 and 13 yrs old ) as the room had only one bed. Pics on Expedia and Doubletree website show multiple beds in the room. Took a day and a talk with the GM to get two cots delivered making the room feel really cramped.

2. Free Breakfast
We chose adding access to the Breakfast buffet which was a mistake. The manager tried to tell us that we didn’t pay for four (4) breakfasts because we only had a single bed. It wasn’t until we showed our Expedia confirmation for 4 People in the room did he grudgingly agree. Between this and the bed issue it was over an hour of trying to come to an agreement with the manager showing him confirmation emails and his one doubletree website showing the room pictures with multiple beds.
The other reason not to choose to eat the breakfast buffet is it’s not that good and food quality is just so-so. Take a walk and find much better food in the mall located next to the hotel.

3. “Downtown” Is not true. Yes it’s in Beijing but not near anything. Expect to have to grab taxis to get around. And make sure you have Alipay!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were only there on a stopover for 2 nights and had to pack a lot in. There was a mix up with our booking but the staff went out of their way to sort it out. The breakfast was one of the most well stocked we've experienced, which was great for our fussy children. The location was good for using the metro, which is a short walk away. And when we left, the staff were so helpful with getting us a taxi - the staff went above and beyond to help us out. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel but not as good as some of the other Hilton hotels I have stayed elsewhere. Staff is very friendly and helpful but rooms and facilities are old and aging and there are lots of noise from adjacent bathrooms. I ended up asking to change my room 3 times. A lot of time there is an unpleasant odour in rooms and corridors. Sport and pool facilities and the location is great.

Best stay in BJ - Great for Hi-Speed Rail Access

I loved my stay at the DoubleTree. The hotel was new and clean and offered top level service in every area possible. The location was near the metro and in the perfect district of Beijing for all of my needs, however maybe not where a first time visitor would want to stay. The pool, gym, and restaurant were also A++

Overall the stay was pretty good, the facilities were well equipped albeit showing in age. Some of the public areas were in need of a deep clean or refurbishment. But the staff were great and extraordinarily helpful and accommodating. Ms. Yang the room service/cleaner on the 20th floor was especially helpful and was great at working around my schedule and routine, she also helped call down to front desk when my room key stopped working. By the way, the room keys gets wiped super easily, really needs to be fixed. The first floor buffet was also pretty good despite being a little overcrowded.

Come for the Dim Sum Brunch

The hotel is located in a nice area but a little farther from the downtown/city center areas as I would’ve liked.

The hotel staff was helpful and some were able to communicate in English if you needed.

DO NOT STAY - Unauthorised room charges

Stay clear. Charges added to my room without authorisation that only became apparent after I had left the hotel. I had an early flight and conveniently my bill \"was not ready\" upon my checkout and so I had to agree to check out without viewing my bill. Then once I had left it became clear that this was because charges had been added to my room from the minibar that I had not authorised and now I cannot reach the hotel by email or get someone to call me back.
Terrible service and untrustworthy hotel staff. Would not have expected from a reputable brand.

Everything was fine, service was good, bed was comfortable, Clean except for the warm temperature inside the room where the Client could not adjust the AC as it was turned on to a heater mode. Only stayed the one night as a I was checking in late and needed to get a very early train to Xi'an the next day from West Beijing Station. This hotel was perfect for that. Fast check in and check out. The room was very comfortable and there's lots of places to eat around the hotel. Recommended.

We stayed 5 nights in the two bedroom suite. The room we had needs maintenance and repair. For example, the basins drained very slowly because it's clogged. The toilets do not flush properly. There wass a lingering smell of cigarette smoke from the previous guest. There are 20 2 ft by 2 ft tiles in our room. 4 of them are cracked and one was totally unclued. Our room was not professionally cleaned. So we have to rate the condition of our room a 2. The hotel staff were very nice. I rate them a 4.5, with the concierge, Hunter, getting a 5. However, the condition of the room is enough for us to never return.

This hotel was amazing and very comfortable! The standards of Double Tree were upheld in the highest regards. The staff tended to our every need and went over and beyond on a few times to ensure we were taken care of. This was an excellent stay. The actual service and facility was not as per the booking. Booked for three guests got room for two. Retrofitted stay for three in a two room facility.

Visitors visa was checked and enquired about when it had already been done at the airport, which was over a lengthy process in itself.

A declaration was made for no smoking in the hotel however other guests were smoking and spoiling the facility which was not enjoyable. The hotel did not enforce its own rules.

The warm cookies at checkin were a warm gesture and tasteful.

Lovely hotel, good facilities - bit out of town

Modern hotel in nice neighbourhood with a subway (line 7) only 2 / 3 minutes walk away. You need to head two stops from Beijing West Railway station (Daguanying). It is about 30 minutes metro ride from city centre and Wangfujing / Tianamen etc.

Hotel is clean, modern with good size rooms. Staff are helpful and professional - although there was some language difficulties with reception. This was a particular issue when I wanted to extend my stay. Expedia didn't have the same room type available for one of the extra nights I wanted. Reception said they couldn't help (don't think the girl Snow, or her male colleague with green hair understood me). I ended up having to book a different hotel unfortunately as Double Tree really is lovely.

Lots of small shops and restaurants nearby. Some nice places to eat and I got the feeling Westerners weren't as frequent as you would expect (given there is this hotel so close).

This Is my second stay at Double Tree. Overall room condition is clean but there are some wear-offs in the bathroom. Compare to other hotels in Beijing, I can say it's definitely good place to stay. The neighbourhood is a residential area. It's quiet at night. Daguanying station which is two stops away from Beijing west station is 3-min walk. And the department store is right next to it and the big grocery store is also close. There was heavy rain right after I got out of Daguanying station. I was totally wet. I didn't have anything to change. There is Uniclo so I could buy cheap t-shirts and pants.

The main complaint is food. Too salty to me. And many chinese food I've tried elsewhere were mostly salty. One night, I ordered room service for a burger and asked them to cook my patty medium. But it's texture like chewy.

In conclusion, It's located in a residential area but the neighbourhood got variety of shops. It makes it easy to fulfil my needs. I'm here for business so my needs are like small stuff or gadgets that I use back at home. The price may not justify what you have here but it's fair to say Double Tree is one of the good place to stay in many aspect in Beijing.

Most Hotel staffs hardly speak English. For a Hilton, I expected staffs to be fluent in several languages, specially English. The kitchen staffs at the breakfast buffet don't use gloves or hats while serving guests. It looks like better sanitation practices should be followed. The order cooks don't know how to make a Denver Omelet. But again, this is a different country, I shouldn't expect more like what I would get here in the US, maybe?

For first time in China it is good

The hotel has western food and staff who speak English. The pool is so so. The garden on the third floor is very nice. But if you know your way around Beijing, stay at a Chinese hotel. It will cost you half as much. Most guests seemed to be elderly Americans going on tours or business folks You can use the subway and do the sightsit yourself for a lot less. And mean a 1/4 of the hotel tours The subway is fast and cheap. Beware of the trip to the airport. Expect at least and hour and a half on Saturday morning by taxi. Staff are wonderful. Truths bakery around the corner. Left out of the door, and left again. And try the many local places to eat over the sky bridge. You can eat dinner for two for ten bucks. All in all, a good hotel, but not convenient to most things.

We spent our first 2 nights at the Hilton and were very pleased with our overall stay. Breakfast buffet was good but always very busy. Workout center was great with newer machines but slightly cramped quarters when in multiple use. One complaint is with the pool. We selected this hotel specifically for the pool and nowhere did it say you needed a swim cap. They offered to sell a swimcap to each of us for $12 USD each. You can purchase a swimcap for about 5RMB in the market. This was a big disappointment. Location is a bit out of the way for the main attractions but the subway is close by and easy to use.

Check in took a long time . We had to argue to get the free wifi that's promised on hotel.com website. The receptionist took my phone away from me to another room to show her manager the booking confirmation. It never occurred to her it's a privacy issue. My kids' room was hot like a sauna because centre heating was down. We had to ask change room. Toilet in my room was cheap and got blocked. Overall poor experience.

This is a fairly recent hotel, with very comfortable rooms and great beds. The only downsize is the location which is a bit far from everything in Beijing. If you stay there you might want to check the restaurants in the adjacent street (turn left when you exit the hotel and walk down two blocks). Special mention to the Harbin skewers restaurant.

The rooms were fairly clean. The air system was not functioning at its best. The Executive Lounge was poorly maintained and the tables were too close together. On the other hand, the overall service in the hotel was excellent with the staff being courteous and helpful, especially one gentleman who spoke good English and went out of his way to assist.

Good hotel but don't ask for help on travel issues

Nice hotel with some good points. On a short stay we were able to use the pricey but good nd bar and cafe. The restaurant that we were \"directed\" to because the cafe was too busy was crazy expensive. The cafe waited on us right away. After the meal, I asked the hotel, several areas including the front desk, if they could help me check in for a flight. I got lots of looking at a computer with no results. These are professionals? Later, early the next morning, I tried to check which terminal (they are like different airports) my airline flew from. I was told the wrong terminal by three different persons which required a 15 min shuttle ride to the correct terminal. The hotel staff never gets these questions from travelers who don't speak the native language and could use the help? Perhaps it is this way throughout China.

Luxury at an affordable price

The staff at the Doubletree Hilton Beijing just get it. You will want for nothing there, including a hello or goodbye by any staff in your line of exit or entrance to the hotel. The room was immaculate, and the amenities are plentiful. While not a negative to the hotel, beware that to get anywhere you will probably need to take a taxi as the closest metro stops are not what you'd consider walkable. Be sure to take a metered taxi (learned that lesson the hard way with pedicabs), but fares to get to places around the Forbidden City or the metro stops never cost me more than 25CNY, so they are very affordable. To get from the hotel to the airport cost around $60CNY (taxi to metro stop, metro to airport line, airport train to airport) and took around 1 hour 15 minutes in rush hour. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, with a grocery/department store 2 doors down and a McDonald's across the street for those nights you just want to pick something up quickly. I found this hotel to be an oasis of calm in a large, hurried city, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

On the way from the double tree bringing to the airport I realised that I forgot my passport and a substantial amount if cash in my room safe ( doozy I know). With 1 hour to my flight I called the hotel assistant manager who ran upto my room got my belongings and jumped in cab to me directly to deliver my passport and cash with complete confidence. I even got onto my flight in time. Now that's what I call customer service.

Except for the restaurant staff who could do with
guidance and leadership this hotel had the best concierge and his team I have ever come across in my travels. Nothing seemed to faze them. Very polite and helpful. The Front Desk staff too were a credit to the Hotel.
Unfortunately, the location of the Hotel in relation to my
business activities, around the Olympic Park area, will not encourage me to stay there again. The Shuttle service offered was limited.
Disappointed you had to pay to use the Internet. In this day and age the service should be part of the package.

Beijing DoubleTree one night stay

The overall experience was OK, the room didn't cool off when I turned the air conditioner on as much as I expected. The charged for using the phone for local calls seemed outdated to me. Everything else was OK.

wonderful service would have liked to been in area where taxi is not required to shop nicer stores and sit outside for a light lunch ..There were no eating establishments in that area.

Very pleased with staff and room and hotel facilities.

Beijing Hilton DoubleTree - outstanding in many ways!!

Recently had the pleasure to visit Beijing for the 1st time. Picked the Hilton Double Tree for reputation and was not dissapointed. Clean in every way, friendly staff, excellent food in both restaurants, bar was warm and friendly, spa and pool were clean and a pleasure to use. Rooms were comfortable and very well maintained by a friendly, smiling staff. A bit of a distance from downtown areas but taxi service was always available and extremely affordable. Excellent performance by the Hilton Family!!

Awesome hotel!

Location is wonderful, services/staff is great, and the breakfast buffet is perfect way to start the day. Staying at this location made commuting much more efficient as taxis are hard to get in the downtown area. Highly recommended!

Comfortable stay at Doubletree

We had a good experience at Doubletree Hilton. Check-in staff were very friendly and we received warmed chocolate chip cookies at reception. Nice touch. Stayed in a King Bed suite. Not sure if it was a king bed size but nevertheless very very comfortable. Had a kitchenette and nice lounge area. Bathroom was pristine. Had our 2.5 year old with us so lots of room for her to play in the room and she had a comfy sleep on the lounge. Asked staff for extra blankets and sheets. No one at the pool when we went so we had a nice private swim. There's a nice Dim Sum lunch buffet on Sat and Sun. Overall very happy with our stay.

A lovely, high-quality hotel but not well situated.

We loved the Hilton Doubletree; the friendly service, the welcome cookies, the beautiful, big swimming pool with soothing music, the wonderful range of breakfast foods and the free Internet access in the modern, stylish lobby.
The only drawback to Doubletree is its location, nowhere near a subway station or any of the important sites (and in Beijing taxis are hard to come by). There are buses but not enough information about them. There is supposedly an occasional shuttle bus to the town center (3 per day) but not at the weekend.
Hilton would do well to provide a more frequent service (perhaps an hourly run to the nearest subway station) and clear bus information in English.
