Hotel is located in a little town. We stayed one night last month in September. It’s a very 70’s style hotel but I think they have an older hotel which looks lovely & wish I had booked there. Staff are friendly & it’s clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were good.

Great location and owners are lovely. Ate at the restuarant twice (limited dining options in Leardal). Only negative was that the drain for showers/tub was “interesting” and could not keep up with volume of water.

Owners are lovely people and they changed over car charges (only one here) in the middle of the night.

Property was very tired looking with old carpets and dark corridor. Very muggy as no AC or fans and windows hardly able to open. Limited dining options if any especially as we were vegetarian. Staff very nice and went way out to help. Good breakfast. Hotel was quite expensive considering facilities and room standards. Very high bath and uneven floor from room to bathroom. Nearly tripped. Definitely needs renovation urgently.

The property is located conveniently between the Borgund Stave Church and the Flam Fjord tours. That's about all I can kindly say.
We were there during a somewhat unusual heatwave for the area. It got up to 28 degrees Centigrade that day. Due the age of the hotel, and as it seems to be normal practice in Norway, the hotel does not have air conditioning. Strangely though, this hotel was the only one during my trip that did not offer to provide fans. The room was sweltering and it was impossible to sleep.
Also, the hotel management did not inform us that on our first night, the pub behind the hotel was hosting the town's annual summer celebration, complete with live rock band which STARTED at 1030pm.
So the room was not just stifling hot but my phone recorded 60 decibels of sound coming in through the closed windows. Until past 1:00 in the morning... Which made it getting up at 7:00 a.m. for my scheduled tour that day very unpleasant
My bed was a glorified futon with very little support and had a weird slope to it.
The food is mediocre. And while the staff was pleasant, that doesn't make up for a disappointing breakfast.
The other thing, I came in an EV and had asked the hotel about charging facilities. They assured me that there were plentiful charging options in and around the village. This is not correct. The nearest chargers are about a 10 minutes outside the town. The upside is, the hotel let me use their 7kw slow charger for free, but had to share with other guests

Great stay in a fjord-town characterful hotel!

Beautiful historic hotel in a lovely setting, with a warm welcome, great service and a delicious dinner! The freshly made fruit smoothies at breakfast were a nice extra. The only negative thing is that the electric car charger which was plugged into my hire car overnight didn’t work.

This was an historic hotel in a beautiful UNESCO town. The drive to the hotel was relatively easy from the Bergen airport. We had two rooms in the older building. The rooms were large and lovely with small sitting areas. The hotel owners were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the old cottage part of the hotel and it is absolutely charming. Lovely little garden.
The owner is engaging and attentive.
The breakfast is generous, but the dinner was stunningly good.
Draw-back, at least in the cottage, is that the bathrooms are in need of a serious update. Not to mention that the shower curtain being about a foot to short to reach the tub, made showering impossible.

Incredible people!

The folks at this place bent over backward to make our stay comfortable. We arrived just minutes before the kitchen closed and they very happily told us to get ourselves settled and to come down when we were ready. At no point did I feel like they resented our lateness. They then served the most amazing salmon dinner I’ve ever had.
The bed and room were comfortable. The location was convenient. I definitely recommend this place!

I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay here. The view from my third floor room was lovely. Knut was very helpful and looked up bus schedules for me to go to Borgund stave church. The dinner served here was delicious. I would go back! Laerdal is like paradise.

Staff was very helpful getting us access to their only EV charger, and breakfast staff very nice. Laerdall is primarily a stop-over for bus tours. The hotel fronts a noisy street. The hotel does not look elegant or charming, as in the posted pictures. The walls are paper thin, and it’s not possible to sleep until your neighbor goes to bed. Blackout curtains are not quite wide enough. The back of the hotel is a mess and needs to be redone.

Family run, nice owner, excellent staff: the ones we spoke to were from Poland and were remarkably sweet and caring. Very comfortable atmosphere, room and bed . Simple, not fancy, but good value . Reminds me of my childhood because there was a tour group from Korea in the same hotel , the owner says he has frequent tour groups coming here. We’re definitely staying again

Two Night Stay

We selected this property due to its proximity to Flam and lack of other options. Although it was 45 minutes to Flam, it worked out well. Not a lot to see in Laerdal, but there are many cute homes along the river and maybe three small places to eat. After dinner we walked up and down the streets. We ended up eating dinner twice at the bakery (pizza, calzones, chili, soup, desserts). We did not eat at the hotel but the menu looked good. I requested a room in one of the older buildings across the street and that was nice. Very clean room and very clean bathroom (with heated floor). Our window faced the road and was somewhat loud but did not keep us awake. If you are a light sleeper, possibly ask for a room on the front. Knut was very accommodating during our stay. The breakfast was excellent.

We had a very pleasant stay at Lindstrom Hotel. The hotel owner, Knut Lindstrom, is the 5th generation hotelier; he is welcoming and cares deeply about his clients. All the staff is polite and helpful. The first night we arrived late for dinner but the chef and waiters were kind enough to accommodate our group (of 9!). The hotel has a cozy lobby with a piano (one of Knut’s children amused us with a fun repertoire of songs). Location is great to go to Flan, hike the Vindhellavegen and explore fjords and glaciers.

Missing the historical vibe

I have stayed at this hotel twice - the 1st stay we were located in the newer section so this time we really wanted to stay in the older historical building. Although the hotel is beautiful it is a bit run down. The rooms also missed the historic aspect. It looked more like an ikea dorm room. I was not looking to stay at a museum but a few older historical pieces would have gave it more of the feeling we wanted.

Das Hotel besteht aus mehreren Gebäude, teilweise alt mit historischen Zimmern, teilweise modern. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, allerdings hatten wir Aufzugsgeräusche; es gibt einen großen Frühstücksraum und kostenfreie Parkplätze; Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe (Supermarkt gegenüber). Auch ein Restaurant ist vorhanden.

Bodde to netter på rom 338, som hadde balkong.
Koselig rom og bra renhold.
Kjempe god frokost hvor en kunne velge mellom egg eller omelett inkludert bacon eller laks. Pluss for at dette ble tilbredt til hver enkelt og servert ved bordet. Servering av b.l.a ingefærshots ved bordet. Buffe med resten av det en kunne ønske til frokost pluss vafler som en kunne steke selv. Flott service fra alle som arbeidet i frokostsalen. Hotellet ligger sentralt i Lærdal og har bra parkering,
Alt i alt et koselig Hotel med super service.

Very nice, traditional, renovated hotel!!

Very nice, traditional Hotel, with remodeled rooms! My room was very new renovated, and had a bathtub - which was great after a long day to relax!
Breakfast was plenty and also very very good. Ginger and smoothies were served - and special orders too!
The staff is very friendly and helpful!!
And: free parking just in front of the hotel- which means something in Norway!
I will stay at this hotel again, when I come to Lærdal again - and I will! So very beautiful there!!

Litt merket av alder, men fin atmosvære

Dette var siste stopp på ein lang tur og vi var litt trøtte etter lang kjøring. Rommet var stort og greitt, men lite koselig. Badet var enkelt og gammelt. Vi hadde budd på flotte moderne hotell og derfor var dette litt nedtur. Vi fekk nydeleg middag og veldig service med maten.

Veldig bra , stort rom for 2 personer!
Rent og pent .
Spiste middag en kveld på hotellet, ikke så veldig god .
Spiste lange og den var tørr , ikke verdt prisen.
Derimot frokost begge dager vi var der , kan ikke få fullrost betjeningen der nok .
Strålende, blir møtt med et spm,om vi skulle ha egg stekt eller eggerøre sammen med bacon eller røkelaks.samt shot eller smoothie.
Så den betjeningen som for øvrig var fra Polen, gjør jobben sin glimrende. All ære til de! Og gode og mette ble vi der !
