The location is right across the airport. Not much to do in Sorong so very convenient. The hotel was nice and we got a nice room. Breakfast was good. But we had an issue. We were to return after a week before our departure to the US so we left some clothes to be laundered. We were advised this would be no problem. It was common practice. Our flight got cancelled so we had to rebook and could not stay the night so we went back to just pick up our clothes. The hotel could not find our clothes. The person helping us was not great. Eventually they handed me a package that was missing my coat and socks. We had a plane to catch so we just left.

The front desk allowed an early check-in with a fee as a room was available. This was so much appreciated. The breakfast spread was impressive! Smokers rejoice, some levels of the hotel are for smokers only.

The hotel is somewhat new. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast was great with a nice selection of options. They have roof top bar which is great in the evening. Location is very close to the airport. Sorong is very dirty with few hotel options like the Aston available.

Staff are very helpful, the room is clean and a good breakfast is provided. The roof top bar is great for a drink and snack. This is definitely the best hotel in Sorong.

Overall great.
One detail, not so much. … we needed a room with two beds. When I checked in, I asked to verify that we had a room with two beds. They misunderstood me and said it would take a hour for our room to be ready. When we got to the room, we discovered that they had just reconfigured the room from having two beds to having a single bed. Then they gave us a smoking room which we refused. So three hours after arriving, we had the room we wanted. Needless wait due to? … poor English language skills? …poor listening?

Stayed here twice for two nights. A very nice hotel, courteous and professional service, and spacious rooms. BTW: You can easily walk from the airport (4 minutes), no need for a taxi!

Avoid the 7th floor, walls and roof is paper thin so you can hear everything on the updstairs bar. Second stay on the 6th was much better. Rooms are fine.

Great breakfast which started at 5.30am which was excellent. Good variety. Room very clean and comfortable. Great staff and service in general. Same day laundry service. 5 minutes walk from airport - I walked it and it was a bit uncomfortable cos I passed some very high guys who asked me for money and asked to take a picture which was a bit intimidating and crossing road was very hard. So very short walk but with some hazards so some may find taxi easier.
One negative in hotel - I could hear every word being said in connecting room next to mine so was a bit noisy and needed ear plugs to sleep

I paid for a room that was on the wrong date because of (I assume) an issue with hotels.com's website.

The hotel refused to move our stay to a date a few days in the future, and the hotel and hotels.com took 48 hours to respond, during which time the price for our expected date more than doubled.

Many apologetic words were said by hotels.com, but no actual help was given.

Super clean and no noises which I appreciate since I was able to sleep well before my flight. I absolutely loved the breakfast. Of all the Indonesian hotels this one had the most variety and quality of Indonesian foods. So tasty and satisfy as well as healthy. They have a free shuttle as well.

Horrible Night Stay

Hotel is gorgeous. Food and Drink were good. Unfortunately there was ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEP DUE TO THE NOISE. All night they were setting up/ testing equipment and the actual event started before 5. I felt like the speakers were inside our room. Worst night I've ever had in a hotel that nice

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was most helpful and we can highly recommend the Aston! It’s right across the street from the airport and only 15 minutes from the ferry port. They also have an on site ATM and a restaurant with a roof top bar. Super happy with our 2 stays here!

Excellent breakfast buffet. Lovely pool area. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Spa staff was rude. Booked a 7 pm massage only to be told inhad no appointment when I showed up. Roof top bar is beautiful butnwe waited 45 minutes for food only to have it be cold when it arrived. They could do better in those areas. Cant beat the location for airport transit stay.

At 3 AM in the morning a man was trying to enter my room. He pounded and was screaming. I called front desk. Front desk is limited in English, it was hard for them to understand that I needed help and security.
I yelled help and she finally understood. 20 minutes later a male staff person called. I explained what happen and I never heard back from hiim, needless to say I could not sleep for the rest of the night or the following night. When I checked out, I asked the front desk what occurred and no one knew anything about it. Therefore I do not recommend this place. It is unsafe.

The property smells like smoke. There are mosquitos all over the lobby. When we tried to check in, we were told that the room wouldn’t be available for another 6 hours. We could have an early check in but it would be a smoking room. A non-smoking room that did offer early check in was four times the amount of the room itself. When we finally got into our room, that night there was a boisterous party happening right outside. It went on until late in the evening. This hotel is just the worst. Do yourself a favor and book anywhere else. If you do have the misfortune of having to use it, then buy a room for the night before you need it and the night you actually need it and save yourself hundreds of dollars.

Everything was wonderful. We arrived quite early on our flight and the staff did everything possible to get us in our rooms as soon as possible. The one item that was probably not as excellent as the rest would be that the shower did not drain as quickly as we had hoped and flooded the bathroom.

Stayed overnight for a morning flight the next day. My previous accommodation from Raja Ampat, dropped me off too early at this hotel, so I had nowhere to go (a lot of stores are closed on Sundays) But the front desk helped me to check in early! Totally helped A LOT!! Thank you thank you! You also have to try the Javanese massage and scrub with Yanti in their spa. It was perfect after a long day of transferring and moving. I feel refreshed, especially my skin! The breakfast is more on traditional Indonesian food, but it was all tasty and good.

Good but needs some improvements for guest comfort and health safety. Air conditioners were not working at the entertainment lounge, and in the suite room I had the air conditioner only worked with the key card inserted into the slot. On entry the room was muggy hot and humid. Dining staff did not understand how to not cross contaminate food items for my wife's severe allergies to seafood and pineapple (kept trying to use same serving tongs with different foods)

Aston Sorong is the nicest hotel in Sorong. We stayed here 2 nights before a liveaboard. The room is nice and clean. The pool is beautiful and refreshing. They have a small gym that we used as well. The breakfast buffet was great and offered quite a few options. We ate dinner at the 360 Sky Lounge which offered a nice view of the city.

Lovely Hotel however !issue with spa

The hotel is modern and very comfortable. Everything works and it's within walking distance of the airport.
However we did have an issue with the spa. We booked 2 massages for 2 People at 1pm ( happy hour) for the day of our stay. However when we turned up there was only 1 therapist available, not a good start. They said they can provide the 2nd massage later, after a lot of negotiation they agreed that we can pay happy hour price for the later massage as it is the spa's fault.
When we went to pay after both massages, they didn't honour the happy hour prilce. We had to argue with them and put our foot down to get the agreed price. This really didn't make a good experience.

Aston Sorong is a new hotel right across from the airport. I've stayed at the Swiss Bel Hotel in Sorong, the only other nice hotel and recommend the Aston. New and very upscale character. Larger pool area with very good service. Rooms are clean and modern. Shower drain off proper incline so batroom floor gets wet furing showers. Otherwise, no complaints. Great internet connection and flat screen TV. Restaurant is \"OK\", but, not great. BBQ night by the pool on Saturday, however, was really good. Spa services are exceptional!

Pay the little extra and stay at the Aston over the Swiss in Sorong. You get a lot more hotel for very little money.

The best (newest) option by far for those using Sorong as a gateway to Raja Ampat. Clean room with working AC and large shower.

We stayed 1 night after boat transfer from Papua Explorers resort and before flight to Jakarta the next day.

It is located very close to the airport and the onsite Restaurant also made things convenient.

I would definitely recommend to others and would happily stay there again.
