The staff kindly assisted with an early check in and an upgrade to a river view. Our room was enormous. Bed was comfortable, bath & shower had a fabulous outlook. Breakfast buffet very generous albeit loud. Other onsite restaurants excellent. A bit of a hike to the metro and the nearest mall but not really an issue.

The hotel's front desk service was subpar—when we asked for help, we received no response. Every morning at 7 a.m., a large number of resellers would line up outside the hotel’s patisserie (managed by the hotel) to buy up popular items in bulk. By the time the patisserie opened at 9 a.m., all the hot items were already sold out. As a guest staying for five nights, the hotel staff told me that I had to queue along with the resellers and had no priority. When I gave up waiting, I discovered that I could buy the same pastries—at a higher price—just 30 meters away from the hotel, without having to queue. That made me very angry. This is the treatment I received as a guest at a five-star hotel. It saddens me to state the facts. This hotel was the one my husband and I had most wanted to stay at, but this experience was deeply disappointing.

Only wish they either have shower space on it’s own without having to step into the high edge of the bath tub, it can be quite dangerous for older people who are less able to get in and out of the tub!

The room have some of black molds in the stand up shower at the edges of the tiles and the door. Also it seems like is clog. Water is not draining fast enough. There is seems like a blood mark on the carpet beside the bed.

It is all base level of a 5 star hotel, nothing wrong but also nothing exceeding.
There are so many new hotels presenting better options, sadly white swan has no advantage or selling point anymore.
On the new year day, I made a phone call to reception and started the conversation with “happy new year”. The girl did not say anything back, that is a very good example of the level of service now.

Staff at concierge were helpful and polite. They handled the requests efficiently and considerate. Regarding the breakfast, there’re variety food for customers to select. The view of our room no. 2206 which was facing the river was fantastic. Whiteswan hotel’s location was within the walking distance from the Huang Sha MTR station where you could directly take it from the Guangzhou East Highspeed railway. Overall is 👍👍👏👏

we’ve stayed in this hotel numerous times for the past several years. The hotel is clean and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, especially those at the front desk and lobby. We happened to have dinner at Jade River one night and noticed the service has been greatly improved, since we’d a very bad experience last time we tried their tasting menu, especially the server named Likhung, if my memory serves me correctly, serviced at a level above and beyond our expectations. I specifically wanted to thank Mr. Chen who assisted our transportation to another hotel with 5 big pieces of luggages. It’s little hard to find big car in that hotel area without pre booking. The White Swan should be an icon of Guangzhou, but my experience was deeply disappointing. Service was slow and unprofessional, dining staff came across as rude, and I was bitten by mosquitoes countless times. For such a renowned hotel, better service and proper pest control are urgently needed.

White Swan is my #1 choice whenever I visit the Canton Fairs (both the Spring and the Autumn Shows). The hotel provides a free shuttle and boat ride to the exhibition hall directly daily during the fairs. The meal options during the fair have been nothing but extraordinary! The hotel staff, as well as their service, are superb as well! I highly recommend this hotel to all the visitors to Canton, both on business and for personal leisure.
