I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kismet Cave House. This is a charming historic stone property. Every corner feels special, it is beautifully decorated with antique furniture, handwoven carpets, and unique ceramic pieces. The carvings in the stone walls and the hand-painted details by local artists give the place a special touch. It’s cozy, full of character, and truly one of a kind.
My room was very clean and comfortable.  Breakfast was great: delicious, varied, and served in a bright, spacious room with a large terrace. The breakfast area is at the family’s neighboring hotel, which also has a rooftop terrace. It was the perfect spot to watch the magical hot-air balloons float across the morning sky.
The staff were simply amazing – warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help me make the best of my trip. They shared fantastic tips on what to see and do, making sure I got the most out of my time in Cappadocia. This was Turkish hospitality at its finest, and without a doubt, one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had.

I spent a long time reading reviews when trying do decide where to stay in Cappadocia, and ended up choosing Kismet house because many people had commented about the kindness, helpfulness, and friendliness of the family who runs it. It's hard to state how big a difference that made for me on my trip. They truly welcomed me like a family member, even inviting me to a special dinner (they normally only serve breakfast) in the dining room upstairs. My room (Cave room, 104) was exceptionally comfortable and clean, and surprisingly big and had both a jacuzzi bathtub and a huge shower (and heated floors?!?!). The location is excellent, right downtown, a short walk down a side street so it's very central, but also very quiet. The rooftop has many terraces with incredible views, especially good for watching the balloons fly directly overhead at sunrise. The breakfast (served daily) was a huge treat, everything was abundant and beyond delicious and many of the items (jams, dried fruits, yogurt...) were either home made or sourced from the family's farm (they even gave me fresh milk from their cow, which was incredible). Yusuf (a son) was happy to book my tours (Red & Green) and made everything very easy. Faruq (the father, apologies if I'm spelling the names wrong) was incredibly kind and generous and knowledgeable. I will never forget my stay at Kismet Cave House/Mansion, nor the family who made my visit perfect and unforgettable.

Amazing stay! Sahin was amazing before the stay in booking airport transfers. Helped with making booking for tours and balloon ride! Their father, Farrokh was also hospitable with the guests. The breakfast was one of the best I've had, with fresh fruits and produces from around the area. Highly recommended stay for Cappadocia in the Göreme area! Cannot recommend enough and can't wait to be back!

Amazing hospitality

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms and great breakfast (grown in their own farm and locally outsourced). What really sets this hotel apart though is the incredible hospitality by each member of this family team. We were blown away by their kindness and authenticity and would stay here again in a heartbeat. (Be sure to try the cake at breakfast!)

Finding this hotel was truly kismet!

Finding this hotel was truly kismet. From the hotel to the town, everything was phenomenal! It was a beautiful, family run hotel, and I felt welcomed from the moment I entered. Breakfast was prepared fresh each morning from fruits and vegetables from Mr. Faruk’s garden. The jams were also homemade and delicious! The hotel staff was great and helped me to fill my trip with activities I was interested in that have become memorable experiences I will treasure. During my stay I was traveling alone and the hotel staff introduced me to many of the guests and helped foster communication. Coffee and tea was always offered with a smile to all guests conversing throughout the hotel. The terrace area was beautiful and offered views of the hot air balloons, while the lobby was perfectly designed to gather guests in a comfortable sitting area. Mr. Faruk and his sons offered many suggestions of places to go and things to see while helping you thoroughly plan each experience and set up tours for you. This hotel was truly a family run business, and it was evident my entire 5 day stay that they take pride in offering guests the best experience possible. I will definitely be back, next time with family and friends!

We enjoyed our time at Kismet Cave House and would stay again in the future. However, our rooms window was off a side road which turned out to be fairly noisy. So not the greatest rest. The highlight was the terrace used at breakfast.

Great house, wonderful breakfast (tasty, varied, abundant, all you can eat buffet style, with a cook that makes omelette and Turkish pancakes on order), accommodating staff, perfect location. Highly recommended. The taste is impeccable. It is a pleasure to see such wonderful rooms. Very comfy beds, strong showers. Helpful staff can help you with activity bookings, maps and recommendations. Location is perfect, in a quiet neighborhood but one block from everything: bus station, restaurants, bazaars, Open air Museum.

Friendly, family run and offers a taste of the local village life. However I was a bit let down by the general upkeep - carpets had accumulated too much grime and my toilet had quite a bad smell throughout the stay. However the staff is just great and the owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.

The charm of this family run hotel is the family itself. It is not fancy but has old world charm and warmth, both in the carpets and antiquity strewn about, and through its owners who really make an effort to connect and make sure you have the best possible stay. Goreme has grown exponentially over the years. To get a sense of its soul, I feel you need to connect with the people and spend some time in nature away from the maddening crowd!

Goreme. No other place like it on the planet

Great place to stay. A little different considering you're staying somewhere that is mainly built of stone and volcanic rock tunnels, hence a cave hotel. If you're there in October take your winter woolies. It can get a bit cool. Faruk, the owner, and his son Sahin were wonderful hosts. Almost like family. If Faruk asks you to have dinner say yes. His wife is a wonderful cook. A great experience for 4 nights. Sahin also took us for a downhill hike through the Love Valley. Great

Kismet is the perfect place to stay in Goreme

We had a great experience. We were greeted at the door and made feel at home by Faruk and his family, who own and operate the hotel. We got the \"cave\" experience with comfort and amazing hospitality. AC was not an issue, in the cave rooms the temperature stayed around 70 degrees Fahrenheit even when outside there was a 90+ weather. When I lost a package at the airport, Faruk drove to the airport and found a way to ship it to me basically overnight. If you are going to Goreme, you owe it to yourself to stay at Kismet Cave House

Faruk the General manager was an excellent host. We arrived early and had time for actives. He first attempted to find us a last minute guide. When that did not work he personally hired a car to drive us around. He was gracious and accommodating. He found us a guide for next day. Assisted in transportation back to the airport. He was even flexible we had a late check out. Wonderful experience.

Great Hotel in the heart of Goreme

We had 3 nights at Kismet Cave House. Farouk was a fantastic host who couldn't be faulted for endeavouring to make our stay as hassle free as possible. The rooms were comfortable (but don't expect 5 star), some of the furnishings a bit tired, but everything was super clean, breakfast was excellent, and any recommendations made for activities or third party companies to deal with were spot on.

When my girlfriend fell while hiking and banged up her knee he personally drove me to the pharmacy to pick up bandages. Cosy and cute cave experience

Farouk and his staff made our stay memorable. The cave house is nicely decorated with rugs, plants and articles that create a homey environment. Breakfast on the terrace was great served up by a smiling and gracious woman from town. Farouk secured a hot air balloon ride for us and a discount at the local hamam. He also took us to an intimate Dervish ceremony outside of town and gave us a ride to the bus upon leaving. The room with 2 beds was cosy and comfortable and the bath big enough for my friend and I. Definitely worth what we paid.

not a happy stay

not a very happy stay. we arrived on the early morning of 20th and planed to go on a balloon tour straight away. before paying online, we sent an email asking if we need to book from 20th and if there was a shuttle service and baggage deposit service, the reply was \"no need to book from 20th and they offer those services \" .so we booked from 21st. but after we paid online, things changed, they refused to offer us a shuttle bus even we said we would pay for it and of course we couldnt leave our baggage there while we were on the balloon tour (in fact we left our baggage there because the son of the boss knew nothing about it and he was just too kind but the father was angry at him later on),that's all because we didnt book the room from 20th and we didint book any tour from the hotel. the reply email for that was rude and quite late(a few hours before our flt to istanbul) . those small things can eazily ruin your mood of travelling. i think the boss should be more considerate to the guests instead of being too concentrated on money.

The best concierge service is with no charge

Incredible experience made possible by the hotel owner, Farouk. Virtually 24/7 he is there to help you get the best out of your visit. My advice based on four days there, \"leave it to Farouk\" he will ensure that you get the best value, booking excursions, advice on eating, balloon rides etc. He knows them all and they all know him. He is also a great raconteur and an amusing host who just quietly helps all guests meet each other if they so wish. His prices are good considering the effort he puts in to make you at home and if you wish he'll sell you a rug or two at the best prices in town. He's an international traveller who knows people. Also the the Kismet hotel is not luxury but great value be sure to book the superior room. We will return to see more of Capadoccia which would not be the same without Farouk

Helpful owner but average hotel for the price

The owner, Faruk, is very nice and helpful but the hotel itself is quite ordinary. The room had not much to offer. The shower kept leaking and unsuccessfully fixed by stuffing towels at the bottom of the shower. The location isn't great either. For the price, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. There are several other hostels and hotels that offer better ambience, location and value for money.

Excellenct hotel

I stayed here for 4 nights. The room is very clean and the bed is comfortable. I have no complaints at all.

Faruk is the owner of the hotel. He is very nice and goes out of his way to make sure my visit to Cappadocia is smooth. He offered Turkish Coffee upon arrival. Even went through the making procedure what to look for in Turkish Coffee. When I told him I had to return my rental car at Kayseri Airport 2.5 hours before my flight, he asked for the car rental's phone number. He called them and got them to agree for me to return the car at a later time.

I highly recommend Kismet Cave House to anyone planning to stay in Cappadocia.
