We stayed at this hotel for 7 days with three separate reservations, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. All of our rooms had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which made the stay uncomfortable. The same smoke odor was present throughout the lobby and hallways as well.

Very friendly staff. Knowledgeable about area & taxi rates, speak English that enable us to communicate, comfort & quiet, Plenty water are available inside & outside the room, breakfast is incredibly good, many elevators & quick too, many taxi outside the hotel, exceptionally good restaurants nearby, location is about 10 minitues from any shoping centers.

I have stayed numerous times and have liked the rooms. However this time the room was old unlike the ones I have stayed in the past.
I requested a a walk in shower rather then a bathtub, but they claimed they were mot available.
In sum, i would stay there again as I love the Sultan Restaurant behind the hotel.

Room allocation fiasco

Booking type of room on your site DOESN'T mean one gets that room. I had to argue for over 40 minutes with reception to be offered “an upgrade” to a room that didn’t meat the biked room. On third try, duty manager offered yet another upgrade…. To the room I booked, having showed the 4 receptionists & duty manager my booked room pictures from your site. GRAND DOUBLE ROOM.

I stayed in the hotel from January 6 to 20, quite a long stay😆
I’ve stayed in Baiyun Hotel many times in the last 6 years, and I always enjoy stain there.
During my last visit, I observed some changes-the rooms and the corridor passages have been refurbished, bedsheets changed regularly.
In general, there had been a lot of improvement.

However, I will like to take this opportunity to advise the management of the Hotel to look into the way they can keep WARM or HOT the food being served at the Continental Breakfast Restaurant. The foods that are supposed to be served hot or warm can be transparently covered. Then put a visible label of the contents by the side.

I always stay in this hotel, about 4 times a Year, the best of this hotel is the location, the area is very good and the Taojin METRO station is just in front (exit B). Breakfast is good. If you can choose a deluxe room, will have a better experience, more comfortable beds.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The front desk staff and concierge were unfriendly, rude and outright mannerless in dealing with clients. A bunch of unprofessional people made to handle clients.
Even their bell boys were down right arrogant and refused to bring our bags out after we checked out and my husband and myself had to lug the baggage's to our car.
Also When I checked out and called for someone to pick up my bags from the room they took long to come up and when I went down about 10 -15 min over the designated check-out time the receptionist going by the name of Stella Limei was insisting I pay for half day room rate.
The beds and pillows were as hard and uncomfortable and I asked for a better bed and was told that all their beds are the same.
The breakfast was cold and they had no egg station and refused to make freshly cooked eggs for my daughter, so she was either expected to eat what was prepared ahead of time or deal with it.
We were informed that it was an international breakfast but they had mostly Chinese food.
I have been going to China for work for the last 20 years. I have been to many cities and the staff is always cordial,not the this one.
This hotel is not worth the money they are charging.

The room decor, view and cleanliness were great. They provided more or less everything I needed, including an umbrella, when it was rainy. It was only 150RMB to the airport, too, (50RMB for the toll road). The only pitfall was the unwelcoming reception staff, though all the other staff were very helpful and smiling.

This is a usual hotel stay for us in Guangzhou. We like the location easy to get to places from the hotel by taxi. We had a problem with the first room we were given as it was near the lift well. After our first night we asked to be moved. They were very helpful in moving us to the middle of the hotel away from the lifts and they also upgraded our room. Very happy with our stay. Been staying here for about 7 years on our business trips.

I got a specious executive suite, huge room on a complimentary basis as I have been in this location several times. Its quite nice stay and comfy. Reasonable breakfast yet could get a constant variety to help break monotony. Goes to canton fair and has Sultan Restaurant for us muslims sticked to it.

This is place is extortion!

My first time ever posting comments on such forum because I’m so unhappy with the management of Baiyun Hotel. I paid extra so I can have the right to checkout at 4:00pm. Unfortunately, while talking with a friend outside, I was a few minutes delayed and I arrived at 4:15pm. The receptionist looked at me like I had somehow eaten the forbidden fruit or something. I wasted nearly 45 minutes arguing with her first, then her manager, Nicole, to no avail. There was no sense of flexibility or customer service. Then Nicole went to speak to the duty manager. Carfield was his name. She came back and stared at me again and insisted that I had pay. I asked to speak to Carfield but I was told he was busy. I repeatedly insisted that I speak to him but to no avail. Finally Nicole just left me stranded there at reception. So, for the horrible sin of talking to a friend for 15 extra minutes, I ended up paying 550 RMB. I left feeling powerless and taken advantage of. This was extortion!

Then, on my way out, I realized the manager Carfield was sitting at a table by himself doing nothing. I went over and said so you are the supposedly busy manager just sitting around? He replied with a mix of English and Chinese I could't make out. I told him how unhappy I was with their service and stormed out.

Overall, I left feeling taken advantage of, powerless, and extorted. I will never stay at Baiyun again. If you stay there, I advise you watch out. They will look for a way to overcharge you!
