I think this place may not be ideal for families with young children, as there were many people smoking around and no clear non-smoking policy in place.
Another downside is that the rooms are not soundproof, so it was hard to sleep due to the noise.
Other than that, the staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Amorita is a little oasis at the east end of Panglao beach. You walk up the steps from the main beach, away from the hoards of people on the beach. The hotel is clean bright and modern and also has a lovely little private cove over the other side of the hotel away from the main beach area. The food was lovely, we ate there several times for lunch and dinner. It is quiet in the evenings so we took advantage of the nightlife on Panglao beach a couple of nights which was fun.

객실 및 수영장 컨디션 등 전반적으로 만족스러웠지만 프론트 및 샤프런 조식장 직원들 몇몇의 응대가 아쉬웠다. 오히려 청소하시는 직원과 짐 나르는 포터들이 훨씬 친절했다.

또한 울창한 나무들로 인해 해가 들지 않아서인지 간간히 내리는 비때문인지 객실 내부가 쾌적하지 않고 눅눅한 느낌이 있다. 조식도 종류가 적은 편이라 조금은 아쉬웠다.

그래도 호텔 만족도는 전반적으로 높고 도보로 알로나 비치, 주요 상점 등 시내 접근성이 좋아 추천할 만 하다.

Pros: The room with a private pool was lovely. The cleaners made the effort to arrange towels on the bed. The property and infinity pools looked lovely.

Cons: Could not enjoy the infinity pools as there were lots of screaming children. Complimentary water smelled like pond water and I could not drink it. Alona beach was crowded and limited chairs provided by the resort.

Booked a spa treatment - whilst the treatment and therapist was excellent it was ruined by a baby in the spa crying outside the room for half an hour.

5* ideas but 2* execution

My wife and I booked one of Amorita's villas at £340 per night for 3 might. When we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was beautiful. They even provided us with a complimentary bottle of cava.

The resort is brimming with lovely ideas but the reason that I have given it 3 star is the execution of those ideas.

The beautiful private beach is actually covered with piles of old lorry tyres, broken boats, and litter. The gym had no power and a few lonely machines. Watching the sunset in the main bar highlighted how dirty the floor was. The hammocks sit in a wasteland between one of the restaurants and the hotel rooms. There are loads of maintenance issues across the resort from big cracks in the concrete to poor finishes. And everything is charged at a premium - including the 5 minute airport transfer which costs P800 - or £11 at time of writing. That's more expensive than London!

If Amorita what to sell a premium holiday and charge £340 per night, I expect a resort that gives a premium feel. I have no doubt that it had that when it opened in 2007 but I don't think it's been loved as much as it should have been over the years.

There was a long walk to the rooms from the check in area. Would have been nice if they had a trolley to go around.
The breakfast buffet was limited. I have stayed in other resorts and this was the buffet that I found sub par.
The beach is not easily accessible.

Also, there is no lift so walking up the stairs may be difficult for the elderly or when you are carrying your luggage.

Fabulous hotel, the most amazing room (suite), with lots of the extra touches you would expect in Asia. The staff absolutely made the stay, so friendly and polite. Free cocktails at sunset twice a week, and ice lollies, fruit shot and a flower given to everyone by the pool twice a day- lovely touch. Prices very reasonable for a hotel. Plenty of local restaurants a short walk away if you fancy something different.
Down side, no lifts so if you are on the third floor, that’s a fair few stairs. Not much of a private beach either. All in all lovely place.

The place is beautiful. The staff are all pleasant and friendly. I was unable to take advantage of the beach. The room was comfortable and beside the restaurant area. They had a small gym, which could be used anytime from 10 am to 9 pm. The beach is 29 steps down from the small shaded pool area by the reception. The place is very beautiful, what with all the trees and winding pathways through the villas.

Our stay at Amorita exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff really go above and beyond to make it special. The spa was amazing… the milk bath and the deep tissue massage… wow (Skip the facial). The food at the Spanish tapas restaurant was good. Breakfast was incredible with a variety of choices. All of the pastries were great. The purified water was abundant. I can’t rave enough about the people of Amorita!

Excellent villa but rest of hotel in need of some TLC.

Location good away from the main hotspots of Alona beach. Our villa was lovely and well maintained, peaceful garden outlook over pool with lovely birdsong. The terrace is 100pc shaded which you will love or hate. Comfy beds. No turndown service despite advertising 2 cleaning a day. However when anything was needed the staff were super super efficient.

The rest of hotel is tired with aged furniture and repairs needed (see photo of pool deck!) gardens are nice as is cliff view. I suspect this is still by far the nicest resort in Bohol.


Alona area is very low key feet in sand location with mainly beach bbq and bars for the evening. Food in the hotel was excellent at the chophouse.

Breakfast was ok, always busy but great coffee. Egg station, small selection of Asian hot dishes and continental style breakfast. Was ok but felt choice was somewhat limited.

Bohol was our last destination in Philippines and least preferred as the beach and sea is not a patch on other locations (Palawan and Boracay). Hotelvwey good at arranging transport to and from airport at reasonable
Rates and also booking a driver at short notice for a day trip.

So overall lovely villa and good service. Needs some repairs which seems a shame as it lets the place down..

Check in was chaotic. I think the idea was to decongest their small front desk area so they ask the guests to sit in lobby and the staff will approach them when it’s their turn. We got there w/several other groups and got forgotten by the staff until we approached one to remind them we have not checked in.
By the time our rooms were ready it started to rain heavily. Since the resort was sprawling and had several buildings, we had to walk to our rooms w/just umbrellas. We got soaking wet. But some of our rooms had no towels yet for us to dry with. It took the staff at least 30 mins to bring the towels.
The following day, one of our rooms wasn’t tidied up well. A towel that was left on the bed, was placed by whoever who ‘cleaned the room’ crumpled on the headboard.
Toiletries were not replenished- shampoo , body wash, towels.
Water pooled on the bathroom floor. There were Dust on the floor and crumbs on the table tops.
On the plus side, the staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful when you approach them, but probably not well trained.
The hotel itself used to be nice but has signs of wear. They offer free activities such kayaking and paddling boarding but booking is difficult - gets booked up fast.
We had our own transportation and booked our own activities but the hotel can give assistance w/booking tours and offer a shuttle service to limited destinations. Breakfast buffet has a good spread.
Over all it was a disappointing stay just because we expected better.

The hotel could do with a bit of a spruce up. The accommodation and pools are looking slightly shabby/ worn. The food was all delicious and the cocktails were great. If you are looking to relax during the day this is not the place for you. There is loud (bad) karaoke some days in the room above the pool. Also a lot of children in the pool. Perhaps as they have two pools they could designate one as ‘quiet’? We paid $350 a night which I feel was very overpriced. Also beware the ‘tarsier sanctuary’ in Loboc which is unethical and the animals are caged. There is a REAL sanctuary in Corella.

Just look further, for better beaches and hotels

Our stay was okay, weather was nice, staff was friendly, location is okay.

The hotel however is far off from being a 5 star resort, even on local standards. Maintenance was poor, with almost everything, services were okay but more like 3 star level. Food selection was limited, ants all over buffet, items were lacking freshness.

Clearly it has been a hard time with all the lockdowns and low tourist numbers, and maintaining 5 star level is demanding and costly. Of you don't, then do also adjust your rates, now the result was that it was highly overpriced.

Further there was a clear absence of leadership, leading to small annoyances, pool area wasn't cleaned, no towel service before 10am, pool was full of leaves or full of chloride, in-room amenities like coffee and water weren't re-filled daily, the grounds looked not maintained for months, just as the paintwork etcetera.

Unlikely to return, as also the beach gets destroyed with the massive development of hotels next to Amorita that will lead to mass tourism. Guess management is just waiting to be bought out and minimize investments until that happens.

Think there are better picks available.

The most outstanding feature of Amorita Resort is the staff. In every area, the representatives we encountered were warm, courteous, professional and friendly. We were warmly greeted on arrival and seated in the reception area. Our room was not ready, but we were kept informed about progress and the hotel made sure we were kept comfortable. We had some issues about the room we were originally offered, but the team listened to our concerns and took action to move us to something more suitable. Breakfasts were served in the Saffron restaurant, overlooking the pool and once again the service was exemplary. The choice of food was also very good, including freshly prepared eggs and a very delicious calamansi marmalade. I commented on how much I loved the marmalade and to my absolute joy, the staff made me a gift of a jar of marmalade when I left. Another positive factor worth mentioning is the location. The hotel is situated at the eastern end of Alona beach. The beach is vibrant with bars, restaurants, massage services etc and one can avail themselves of these facilities by walking straight to the beach from Amorita Resort. However, one can also escape to the resort and use the private cove, if a quiet, sedate and peaceful day is desired. Rooms are generally spacious but there is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. I think the property feels tired in parts and maintenance has fallen behind. Overall, a great stay.

This hotel is definitely not worth and overrated to stay. Please skip this option if you haven’t book your hotel yet. The hotel room is dirty and we have asked the staff to clean but still the same. The hotel is not well maintain, as the swimming pool water is dirty and yellowish. Towel is full of stains. The water that come out from bathtub is yellowish as well.

Basically, they are not allowed to early check in and late check out. When we are checking with them for the early check-in and check-out, they reject us without checking and replied that the hotel is full, by repeating we can only check in at 2 o’clock, check out at 12pm. However during breakfast time, we only see a few table guests is having their breakfast. Our travelling time is at raining season and no public holiday. Weekdays. We are really don’t believe that the hotel room is fully booked.

They staff is keep questioning our room number at anytime and anywhere they see us. We can understand if this is for safety reason. However, we think that the staff should have remember our face since the hotel is small and we are a group of 5 girls in the hotel, this should be very easy to recognize. Moreover, that is the same person who attend our check-in and ask us the room number on the next day morning (you should have recognize us!!). We can feel that this is very discriminate to us, especially for the staff Raffy, Winston, & Prime. Even keep asking if we have paid for the extra person on EVERY DAY BASIS.

This place is virtually perfect - beautiful, huge rooms with a comfortable bed and large bathroom; amazing (free/included) breakfast; relaxing campus-like grounds; a lively pool/bar area overlooking Alona Beach; and very convenient access to Alona Beach itself (just a short set of stairs down to the beach). The staff here is extremely helpful and polite, and they greet you (with a bow) whenever you see them. I can't see any disadvantage to staying here, and it is a lot quieter than Heenan (which is a bit more flashy and directly on the beach), but by no means are you isolated from the action. LGBT friendly.

Amazing Honeymoon Experience!

My wife and I stayed at Amorita for the first week of our honeymoon, and our stay was incredible! The service was top notch, the resort grounds were beautiful, and the room was absolutely stunning.

From the bottle of champagne to congratulate us on our honeymoon, to the staff that remember our names and the twice daily visits to tidy the room and leave fresh baked goods and re stock the fridge with free drink... this hotel was a wonderful experience from the very beginning.

Every other hotel on this island seemed crowded and stuffed with tourists, and Amorita stands out as having a large, peaceful, and secluded landscape. The resort never felt crowded, even when I knew the hotel was fully booked. It stands on a cliff overlooking the beach, and the water is only a few steps away (if you even feel the need to leave the multiple beautiful infinity pools!)

My wife has a very sensitive stomach, and when we travel it is always a concern. The food at Amorita, aside from being delicious, never left her feeling ill or uncomfortable. The two restaurants at the resort are hands-down the best on the island. We ate dinner at the Tapas bar almost every evening!

Some reviews mention the restaurants as being expensive.... and all I can say is that if you’re coming from the EU or North America, the service and quality of food will feel like a bargain. I would say a typical dinner for us was only $20 USD, and lunch $10-15. We loved our stay at Amorita!

Relaxing view,nice comfy bed, home away from home

I have read reviews about how great this hotel is and every time I come home I was not lucky to get the dates I wanted to stay. Nevertheless t got lucky this time that I got the chance to stay overnight here and got the ocean view villa. The view is stunning, welcome drinks and free amenities inside our room were a lot!
The only caveat we encountered was there was no channel on tv which shows the World Cup . Most of the sports channel featured was basketball, boxing, golf and racing. I called up reception and the lady said she will ask their cable guy to give us a call but never happened.
Overall , I still rate this hotel as 5 Star!

This is not a beach resort. Yes, it is on a small hill overlooking Alona beach, but the hotel itself lacks a beach. But, given that Alona beach is a crowded harbor with narrow sand, the Amorita cannot be blamed. Expect \"beach\" of the same kind and on the same level as those in Hong Kong. If an ocean swim is important to you, then opt for South Palms Resort, a less expensive hotel two miles up the coast.

What is good about Amorita? The staff, of course, and the all day happy hour with its strong drinks. The ocean-facing villas are well-planned and thoughtfully-maintained but that is rightfully expected for any hotel in Philippines (or anywhere in Asia for that matter) costing more than $600 a night for one person.

We were treated with genuine care at Amorita. Every encounter with the staff was delightful. Their mango danishes during breakfast are sooo good. The staff knew I loved them so much they prepared me a fresh batch for an afternoon snack by the pool. Our 1 bedroom suite was so spacious and relaxing. We would definitely be back!

Nice quiet location

The hotel is located at the edge of the beach and perched on a cliff and is not at sea level. You take the stairs to go to the beach. It's not too long a walk. Because of its location, it is away from the noise of any festivities on the beach.
The facilities are top rate and the food is excellent. Staff is always very helpful and courteous. The spa deserves special mention.
This is not a discount rate hotel but you do get what you pay for!

​My wife and I stayed here 8 days in a junior garden suite and absolutely loved it. The service, facilities, location and value are excellent and we were very sad to leave!

Everything is fantastic

We weren't mistaken in booking this place. Very nice place, clean room. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. We so much love the place. Our room was so comfy. We loved also the hospitality of this resort. Very safe to walk around outside the place. People are not rude. We highly recommend this resort.

Very nice hotel. Great view and very good service.

Very nice ambiance, very relaxing. Courteous staff. The only thing I recommend is the hotel should always ask the guest what the purpose of their stay. Like in our experience we requested 1 big bed in our booking the hotel did not know that we were on our honeymoon and when we arrived in the hotel we were in a room with 2 small beds. We told them we were on our honeymoon so they transferred us to 1 big bed the next day.

A luxury resort, with great facilities and perfect location.
Second time in this hotel, first time in a suite, and this time in an Ocean Villa.
The villa is good for the private garden, however booking in a room in the main buildings does not change really the overall experience. The 2 outdoor pools are fantastic, so no really need to have a private pool.
The main building could be renovated a little bit, since beach front buildings are always subject to severe weather. The north part of the resort is not as good as the rest, with outdoor in front beach not really amazing.
The food could be better, but this is however the same usual remark in the Philippines, even in premium locations. A few of them can however propose a great food, so this is possible, and a opportunity of improvement for Amorita.
Cocktails are very good, and staff is professional.

Right on the beach but away from all the noise staff were excellent food too gorgeous clean room great water pressure lol walk to town so easy it was wonderful! The two pools were amazing with such beautiful views thanks to all the staff who made our stay unforgettable

Best hotel in Panglao

Stayed for 5 days where I had the most enjoyable and relaxing time. Staff and facilities were great. The resort was clean and well kept. They always left freshly baked cookies in my suite in the evening after turndown service which was a nice touch. Will definitely stay in this property again in the future.

We recently spent two nights at Amorita. Overall we were very pleased with the experience however a few things need improvement.

We were collected from the airport and shuttled to the resort in a private van. Our driver was very good. He gave us lots of tips for our stay and was a capable driver.

When you first walk into Amorita it feels very relaxed. Wide open spaces in the resort with well kept gardens give a peaceful feel to the place. The staff are also very welcoming. Efficient yet not rushed.

We were shown to our room, it was a long walk from reception. Air con was already on when we entered, a welcome relief from the summer heat. A quick explanation of the workings and we were left alone. The room was nice, it had two double beds. The bathroom is open to the bed area, separated by a wooden lattice divider. Shower and toilet are behind separate smoked glass doors. The vanity area with mirror was poorly lit. Not good for makeup or shaving.
The refrigerator was stocked with complimentary juices and sodas. Also some cookies were delivered later in the day. Nice touch.

We explored the pool area. Two infinity pools with plenty of room to relax. Shaded areas also available.

Short walk to the beach area. The resort is on top of a cliff and to get to the beach a short flight of stairs was available.

Breakfast buffet needs polishing. Food choices were limited, eggs were pre-cooked and cold, ants on the fruit. Not acceptable for a hotel of this standard.

We love Amorita!

We loved Amorita! It is a beautiful resort in a great location. Since it is a cliffside resort, it gives you privacy from the crowds of Alona Beach, but the beach is easily accessible from the resort should you wish to hang out there. The room is beautiful and spacious and we were provided welcome treats and a complimentary mini-bar. Service is great and beyond what we expected. The nightly treats always made us smile when we go back to the room. Cold water is provided right away whether you're swimming in the pool or going snorkeling. They even provided extra treats for my son one night - it was such a nice touch. The food in both restaurants are delicious. The orders take some time though, but they provide complimentary bread while waiting. We were also given extras (like appetizer or dessert) during the times when our orders were taking long. Overall, we're very happy with Amorita and would love to come back!

Believe this is the best resort on Bohol Island. Close to beach (has own private beach), local food etc. Loved the infinity pool. Breakfast option was decent as well. Only thing I wasn't pleased was that the wifi / mobile connection was really bad at the room we stayed

Perfect location...close to the action on Alona Beach, but just far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Staff is friendly, professional and attentive. Cleanliness and attention to detail are evident everywhere in this finely designed and comfortable resort. The restaurant serves top quality food drawing from both Filipino and Western cuisine and the bar is well stocked. I would recommend Amorita Resort to anyone wanting to experience Alona Beach, Panglao Island, and Bohol.

Great hotel with tons of pros and some cons

Overall, our stay at Amorita was great! It's a luxury hotel without a super touristy feel like some of its competitors (like Hennan down the beach). Rooms were spacious and stylish, very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was excellent, extremely friendly and helpful with booking our activities. We rented motor bikes through them and they delivered them straight to us within minutes. The restaurant had incredible food (albeit marked up prices), but seriously some of the best food we had our entire trip, I recommend the Marlin! Probably the best location I could imagine on Alona beach...its at the start of the beach, and the beach basically gets worse the further down you walk away from the hotel. Much more privacy than neighboring Hennan, which is also great looking, but VERY touristy and packed. New infinity pool is incredible! Only cons were construction being done on new front desk area, which you have to walk past to get to the beach, but didn't hear the noise at all from our rooms. Also, very slow service at bar area, sometimes 20-30 minutes to get a drink despite not being very busy. We were four Americans in our early 30's, all well traveled.

Nice hotel with lovely pool overlooking sea

After hectic check in for 3 night stay (Chinese New Year holidays) shown to suite by pleasant helpful staff(as were all the staff).
Suite was as described, just a little too dark on ground floor. However this wasn't a problem as we were out mostly -relaxing by the lovely pool one day, sightseeing the next- excellently organised by the hotel for same price as that quoted by the taxi driver from ferry
Food in both restaurants was very good.
The only slight criticism would be that despite the booking being for 3 in the suite, only 2 of everything (towels,glasses,cups,etc ) were supplied on arrival and had to be requested each day.
Overall though- an enjoyable stay

Amorita did as promised us. We were picked up by a friendly staff at the airport. At the arrival we were greeted. We love the resort it was as expected. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent with very modest prices. Most of all we were amazed how Mr. Noel the manager gives personalized service to every guest by talking and finding out their needs and tried to make their stay more enjoyable. Best experience of my life! Good location, peaceful and quite. Staff were very attentive and took really good care of me when I had stomach problem. I enjoyed the complimentaries that the resort offered, such as the sweets that get sent to our rooms each night from the staff, the staff would offer free mango iceblock by the pool, and the complimentary activities such as snorkeling.

When we came to the hotel we were in shock!!! the main area of the hotel was under construction, a lot of noise and everything...

We totally enjoyed our stay at Amorita. The resort is beautifully designed and well maintained, the staff friendly and very helpful, and the location perfect if you want to get away from city life and office work. Though the food is good, I suggest more variety in the menu especially for those staying longer than 2-3 days. I also hope the next time we return, internet connectivity is faster. These minor observations, however do not detract from the great time we had in the resort.

Rate this a 3. Most of the staff were friendly and remembered my name. Unfortunately I did not get the experience from other reviews. The area of the hotel with the infinity pool/bar that look over the beach was under construction. I didn't see anything about that when I booked. Posed an issue when I wanted to lounge by the pool. This was my last stop of 2 weeks around the Philippines, with 1 pool closed there weren't enough chairs to use the pool. Got frustrated when I did get a chair, there were a group of 5 kids, all under 8 yrs old, throwing water, running and screaming, ruined my drink, and parents are way across the bar playing cards. Even when I brought it up to an employee, they walked in opposite direction. Ferdy, JK and Chris were great at the bar. Others never smiled or tried to make any talk. The front desk staff were all amazing. My room way fabulous, the one bedroom suite. I slept so good I missed breakfast all 3 days! I had an issue with housekeeping as they would clean room, but never restocked water or coffee, or empty ashtray on balcony. Had to call each day. Even when I left a handwritten note asking for these, with a tip, money gone, no refills. Finally had to talk to manager. I used the spa twice. Jaque was amazing, but all I could hear were drills and saws from workers. Good and bad, maybe better when not walking through construction and the workers. But I think I will stay elsewhere next time.
