We stayed at this hotel because it was a 5 minutes walk to the wedding venue that we were attending. The staff (everyone) was more than fantastic. Extremely friendly, helpful, and tentative to all our needs. My only complaint is our bathroom (room 809), had a bad smell, which spread to most part of the room. It seems to lessen over our 4 nights stayed. Or perhaps we just gotten used to it. 😊

Five star hotel experience for an economical price

This is my third stay in Gokulam Grand, and I love it because I get it a more affordable price. The hotel is very clean and most spacious. The bathroom had both a shower and bath tub, giving me all the luxury I wanted.
The breakfast had a wide variety of options of both International and Indian cuisine. I enjoyed the south Indian breakfast and some lovely deserts.
However, the Wifi was very slow and had to speak to the IT team to get it rectified. There were small things missing, like spa slippers were not available and had to be requested, there were no glasses for drinks and the minibar was empty. However at the price I got, I still think it was a great deal.

Our experience was not great , i had previously contacted them to advise that we will be 3 adults , while it was booked for 2 , but had booked a twin bed room that sleeps three, they they checked us in , but i assumed that this was changed , after two days they said we will have to pay extra , which was fine , but was communicated to us like we were being dishonest.
The room had only 1 towel , no hand towels , no ironing board , when we contacted room service , they brought us extra towel no hand towel and a filthy ironing board. We had to then go to the reception and ask again for a clean ironing board , the houspeeking staff said the provided ironing board was fine and after some convincing they changed the ironing board.
To top it all we had a cockroach crawling around the table and the beer mug in the Bar. The housekeeping staff only on the third day of our stay provide us with towels for 3 guests.
We booked this as all our family from overseas were staying there for the wedding. Our family members found cockroach’s in their rooms as well.
We were extremely disappointed for a 5 star hotel. The price is the same as Taj Yeshwantpur which we all agreed would have been a better option .

One of the worst run hotels I've been too.

The staff here are very unhelpful. I can't reach them via the phone in the room. There was no answer for 24 room service even though they said there would be st the front desk. The wifi kept dropping in my room. The toilets in the lobby were disgusting and unhygienic. The gym is only open at certain hours. Within 5 mins of checking in the power on the floor shut down. Buffet dinner and breakfast were expensive and not good quality.

Very very weird management. They are so weirdly strict that it feels like they are misbehaving with us . The staff literally stopped my female friend to go to my room and change for her airport attire as she had flight in 2 hours . Very bad management. Its a useless 5 star . Pool you cant use . Spa they dont have staff for that . Breakfast timings are so strict that they wont even give you a plate if time is 10:31 am . You will struggle alot to get a room keycard once you left it in your room . PATHETIC MANAGEMENT. Feels like all internee have been appointed as head managers and they are ruining hotels name . Please hire someone whos sweet and mature !

Good value

This is a pretty nice property. It’s upscale, although showing its age. The staff is professional and quite accommodating. It’s priced accurately until you factor in the complimentary breakfast at which point it becomes a really good deal. Any Indian breakfast food imaginable is on the buffet. And then you have Western options (pancakes, omelettes etc.) made to order. Plus bottomless cappuccino or lattes. Location isn’t perfect but if you just want to escape for a few days, this is the place.

booked 2 rooms at this particular hotel for the swimming pools and spa. All out of service. Hotels should clearly state that these facilities will be closed during bookings. I would have booked another hotel if I new this beforehand and it would have been much convenient and cheaper.

Staff were good and for the price the hotel was OK. But everything was a little dated and worn.

Gym certainly needs updating, rooms smelled fusty and damp.

Probably wouldnt stay again and pay the extra £20 per night for one of other 5* hotels close by.

The Hotel was located very close to my family

Overhaul we had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel. All the staff from the doorman, ushers, cleaners, restaurant, main reception were very friendly and courteous throughout our stay. They made sure my wife was well looked after throughout the 9 days. Upon request they accommodated a stool for my wife in the shower room. The room was kept clean and tidy and well facilitated for drinks and snacks. The Christmas Brunch was a treat for our son and wife especially the grand children.

Hotel is in quite location, but not walkable to near by places. Staff is very courteous but constant lacking in details. So many times my key access to the club lounge was missing. Hotel was in middle of selling to new management but staff still kept their professional approach. Breakfast was great but again service details were missing . We stay in the executive suite but one of the sliding door did not close properly

I have stayed in Movenpick Hotel & Spa Bangalore between 14-20 March 2017.I have been picked up from the Airport by the Hotel’s own transfer arrangement which has been a great relief to me, as a first-time visitor to Bangalore. The traffic and the connecting road was less desired, but once arrived to the Hotel, I felt that I am in the right place and good hands. Movenpick hotels and their staff are always great thus expectations are high. However, the staff has exceeded even such expectation. Right from the check-in I have been warmly welcomed by Kanishka, then at the Italian restaurant by Dipak, who both made sure I feel welcomed. I have had the pleasure to stay in a room with a terrace from which I could watch the sun-rise.
Movenpick has introduced weekly cocktail nights for guests with longer stay and for socializing, which I have felt most welcomed. There the guests were also met with the kind personnel from the Sales Team, such as Maheswari.
I have also loved the variety of food at the Sunday brunch.
During my stay, I have also experience a “glitch” with the room service and I’m glad I did. This way I could experience how quick and efficiently the staff led by Abhay has resolved my complain. In my opinion this makes the difference between a great - and a truly great hotel, Movenpick Bangalore. This Hotel instantly became one of my favorite, due to its staff and here I mean all of them!

Cons: Gym needs a bit of revamp...treadmills functioning on and off. Smell in the room was sometimes bothersome. Service can be slow.

Overall a great hotel. Would stay here again if I would return to Bangalore.

Highly recommended hotel with extraordinary Servic

Once u are inside the hotel, everything is TOP CLASS. The ambience, the service, the lifts, the restaurant, the rooms, swimming pool ..all. Easily accessible and good approach of the hotel is an added advantage. Step out of the hotel and there is nothing to do in nearby too. The huge traffic of Bangalore is everywhere. No other market shops or restaurants of any interest located nearby. The in-house food is very expensive. Recommended: Always take an all meals package only.

This is a good Hotel, but I would not recommend paying the extra for Executive Level. The Club Lounge closes at 8pm and with Bangalore rush hour traffic at around this time you would have to finish your work mid afternoon to get back in time!.

Great 5-star contemporary international hotel

Wonderful contemporary 5-star oasis adjacent to the main Bengaluru ring road. Easily accessed via cab or uber from airport. Nice amenities such as pool, sauna/steam and basic fitness. Internet is good but they do charge you if you want high speed access. Restaurant are fine and offer a choice of local (better) and international cuisine

* One room window was very dirty from the outside.
* There were mosquitoes in the room at night.
* Check-in was delayed even though I had a confirmed booking - I was inexplicably asked to wait for 10 mins while the key card was being prepared.
* There was a hole in the wall behind the shower mixer.
* Water accumulated in the shower cubicle and spilled outside every time I showered as drainage outflow was not sufficient. WC in a cramped corner with insufficient space around.
* Service at breakfast (on one of three days) was non-existent, and I was not attended to at all.

Otherwise, top-notch facility and service!

Pity about the food and the maitre d

This hotel looks great from the outside i.e., until you get registered, into the impressive room and then have a need to go to a restaurant. That is where the impressiveness stops. The maître d is not interested in talking to guests, he spends all of his time talking to staff or on the phone. The staff and service are reasonable but they are not well trained in how to look after westerners. The food is very average nothing special in fact on my last night I chose \"Pork ChopS\" from the menu - yes ChopS - plural. Well one chop arrived which I think was cooked the previous week, it was tough and way overcooked. I complained to the maître d whom offered to refund the cost. I told him that was not why I complained and I asked him why there was only one cop when the menu said ChopS.

I suggest you give this place a miss, it's not worth it.

The hotel is quite Ok overall, although a bit overpriced and for this price I would not expect less. Good for business trips, they offer a shuttle from/to the airport, you can as well hire a driver for 4 or 8 hours a day for a reasonable price who can show you around. Sometimes the drivers take you to extremely overpriced tourist shops that are best to be avoided :) The food at the restaurant is very good, free mineral water provided as well. The neighborhood is quite run down, but generally safe. Walking to the center is very difficult, you can hire a rickshaw outside the hotel or the hotel car with a driver.

Awesome experience, went extra mile.

1) Every basic thing about the hotel is great, from the service to the room cleanliness, laundry and so on.

2) My friend fell sick on the second day and they allowed us to check out at 5pm so that she could nap a bit more.

3) Sick friend ordered porridge which was off menu. That was quite amazing already. Porridge came with milk as an ingredient which sick friend can't take (stomach pain). The kitchen replaced another version for no extra charge. They also asked if they could do anything else for my sick friend.

3) Part of my package included airport transfer. A friend of mine who wasn't staying with us joined us at the hotel to go together to the airport. They arranged a six seater SUV to accommodate the friend!

I know it's a five star hotel but as a frequent business traveller, I also know it is absolutely their right to refuse such service but they didn't. I would like to show out appreciation to the hotel and its staff.

This is truly a beautiful hotel, but the traffic in Bangalore is crazy. Was supposed to take 45 min. to get to appt, took 1 hour 15 min. Would recommend this hotel if you don't have appointments to get to in a hurry...but overall an excellent hotel.

We stayed at Movenpick for one night prior to heading home after our holiday in India. On arrival we were told the hotel was full and that we would receive a free room upgrade. To our amazement this was to the Presidential Suite - a stunning room and we really appreciated it. A fantastic way to end our holiday. It was my birthday during our stay and the hotel gave me a large bouquet of flowers and also a birthday cake (with candles!).
This was definitely one of the best hotel stays we have ever had. Huge thanks to the Movenpick.

Stayed 3 nights and it was a pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable, the plug points took Indian/US/UK plugs, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

It's convenient access to the airport, but further away from the city centre; so take your traffic poison pick.

this was the first time at the movenpick and my first at any movenpick. if they are all of this quality and the service levels so high, I can strongly recommend for business and leisure. the staff would help in any way possible, with the The Club staff being amazing. If any staff member needs mention it would be young Ravi in the casual dining room. always welcoming, smiling and helpful. the rooms and hotel were spotless and it has gym, spa, restaurants, business centre etc all of which I used in my week stay.

I've been in several Movenpick hotels in different countries, by far this one is the worst Movenpick hotel that you can imagine. Specially room service sucks. Whatever you ask for, you may have to wait 24+ hours to get it, while arguing with hotel staff. A simple cofee took me 28 hours to get to my room. I really do not recommend this hotel, book somewhere else and don't waste your money here, totally not worth it.

Though I didn't see a single guest at the lobby they make you wait an hour in the lobby stating that room are not ready.
Just because I came on an early morning flight and was at the reception at 11.
Food orders got messed up. Omelette came as a fried egg. And plain garlic naan came as a butter naan. Also room service took 20 minutes to send a plate after the food was delivered. Overall seemed the hotel had basic teething troubles.

I booked two rooms for 3 nights. Executive terrace and Superior room. Executive room was around 175$/night and Superior room was 100 $/night. You would imagine the executive room must be much nicer than the superior room. They are identical except that the executive terrace room has a terrace. The drawback is, executive room smells of smoke even-though I requested non smoking room. When I asked the front desk to change to a different room without any smoke smell, she asked me to stay there for one night, until she finds me another executive terrace room. I requested to talk to the duty manager, who has the nerve to ask me to suck it up for another night, despite of me explaining that I have asthma and can't be in that room. After a long struggle they found me a room. I vacated my room after this bitter experience at the hotel. Hotels.com was kind enough to refund the money for the nights I didn't stay. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, due to the poor service.

Up sell artists and killer ant repellant spray

Great breakfast. English speaking staff, caring, hardworking, polite, efficient and genuinely sweet. Front staff and gift shop manager are up sell artists! I mean for better or worse. Hotel car is safe, efficient, patient, great hospitality in general. Just a handful number of drivers tell you sob stories and deman exorbitant amount of tips, if not rupees, US dollars possessions and accessibilities inquisition end. No concept of grace period. Only a few times of outages a day-no warning, no follow up, just everybody's daily business, no explanation whatsoever as if I was the person hallucinated on my own. Room service is good. Anti-ant spray everyday gave me bad headache until I noticed one day that beautiful silent boy burgled in with no door knocking started to spray around the bed on the carpet. Well, different culture, great food, fantastic bakery, warm hospitality, 24 hour operation of all services except gift shop. Oh, generous with plenty of bottoled water! Coffee is very good at lounges and restaurants. I do recommend this hotel for repeaters. For the first timers, stick to your original plan including tip giving to the point of looking very stubborn to the point of you feel yourself an ugly snob richly stingy person in order not to regret your choice. I had no regret because able to pursue business was more important and was able to with a lot of help by staff!

A great welcome to India

I stayed only one night and found the hotel to be very comfortable and well fitted out in every way. The food was lovely and the staff very attentive and helpful in every way. This was my first time in India and I was met quite late at night at the airport by a hotel vehicle. As a senior female solo traveler this was excellent and comforting as there was a huge crowd waiting for taxis. The only minor complaint I had was the slightly musty smell in the room that I could not clear as the windows are sealed. I see this matter raised in another review but it did not impact the overall impression or experience.
