The moment I walked into the hotel, I was concerned if I have made a wrong call, because the smoke in the ground floor casino area, however, later I was proved wrong, the room(s) we have were so clean, quiet, with all the amenities that we need; although the bathroom is at the tiny side, but the shower water pressure is just perfect; the beds were all so comfortable, my girls had their own private room, not to mention they were all so pleased with the queen size bunkbed. We enjoyed our stay very much, will definitely come back.

Staff was friendly and professional. Clean room, bed was comfortable. What the hotel can not control is the noise from the Main Street in front of the hotel and noise from other guests. When we had a room on the other side of the hotel it was much quieter. It was fun to stay in a historic hotel.

Hotel Nevada is a very interesting Hotel/Casino. We were just traveling through and not looking for a Casino but not many options were available to us. The room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable so we slept well. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We did not visit the casino or bar so have nothing to share on those spaces. Restaurant was under renovation.

The hotel was awesome old west type place with a cool history. The king room we got was a bit small, the bed took up 90% of the room but it was fine. Although is permitted in the casino, the hotel does not have smoke, it is smoke free. But the smell does get around, but it really isn’t that bad for food options you have enough around the area which is really nice to take a little walk around historic places it really is a cute little town with a lot of history and I would stay here again. If I came back it’s really a hotel that’s being renovated and they’re really doing a good job so I would certainly come here for another one next day and definitely give it a try.

Hotel Nevada is within walking distance of several attractions which we enjoyed. The room was recently remodeled. The only drawback was that we stayed two nights and there was no housekeeping to empty the trash. Also it is an old building and the doors close a little noisely.

I really enjoyed Hotel Nevada! Right from the start the women at the reception desk were pleasant and helpful. I also received two free drink tickets for being a guest. I had the Kennecott Suite which was very nice and recently remodelled. The suite even had a full-size refrigerator and freezer which I really appreciated. The beds and pillows were super comfortable, and the room was very clean with a nice view too. Ely is an interesting historic town and so if the Hotel Nevada. If you like trains, don't miss the Northern Nevada Railway Company Museum and Steam locomotive rides. In fact, I had such a comfortable and nice stay that I ended up booking a second night in the same room which the reception desk was very helpful with.

I would be happy to stay again at the Hotel Nevada. The room was artfully decorated, clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable and rejuvenating stay (comfortable bed, desk and chair, table and chair, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and a very good vanity mirror and lights). It's just important to remember that this is a historic property, and old casino and saloon, and it's nearly 100 years old. Thus, the bathroom, although clean and well-lit with very good water pressure, is not going to be big like modern bathrooms.

There is a good Italian restaurant across the street called Mr. Gino's, and that made up for the fact that the Hotel Nevada is currently \"in between\" in-house restaurants, but the new one should be up and running by the time you read this.

I highly recommend riding the local historic train, known as the Northern Nevada Railway. We took a \"sunset and champagne\" ride and had a great time.

If you are a hiker, I recommend walking around the Ward Charcoal Ovens and around Cave Lake (take cash...these are state-maintained properties and there is a small fee)

Construction going on! Lit up my room all night long —even with light- blocking curtains. The noise kept us awake Al night. Had to wake thru a tobacco smoke filled casino both coming and going-out clothes stunk like cigs! Bed was comfortable but couldn’t sleep because of the light the sounds of road work and the stench of cigarettes!

At almost a hundred years old, the hotel has an old-world charm. It was a perfect overnight stop for us as in Ely, NV we were driving the \"Loneliest road in America\". We were glad that it had a functioning elevator as our rooms were on the 6th floor. Some of the rooms in our floor were named after Hollywood actors and actresses from the 1950s and 60s. The room reminded me of a B&B inn with lots of movie stills paying tribute to an Oscar winner of a bygone era.

There was a sign warning us about the hot water pressure in the bathroom, but everything worked as expected! Over drinks in the bar, we ran into a group of racers who were racing in the Nevada Open Road classic race (along Rte 318). As car enthusiasts ourselves, that made our stay even more memorable!

Entering the lobby from the refuse littered construction zone of a parking lot guests are greeted by the overwhelming smell of an old and dirty ashtray. The rooms were advertised and pictured as refurbished. Our two rooms on the 6th floor were dumps! Upon arrival I contacted Expedia about cancellation but the robot said I was too late! We have stayed at rustic hotels around the world but this is at the dregs of bottom tier and the downtown area seems to be in a death spiral in spite of some notable roadwork in progress. Looking at the website is a view of gross misrepresentation! They should level the dump and start over!

The room was the size of a postage stamp!! The sink was so small I couldn't wash my face without getting water all over the floor. there was not ONE towel bar in the bathroom and only one hook at the very top of the door for clothes. My companion couldn't reach it!! The door to bathroom wouldn't close without slamming it. (not good in the middle of the night). While the room was clean, and had amenities like coffee, there was no fridge or microwave, and was so small it just had one small chair(folding type and a tiny round table . Room is way too small and unhandy for a comfortable stay. The pictures were cleverly done to give the impression of size. We got a \"remodeled\" room. I feel like I was deceived on how the room was. The room reminded me of stays in Japan, except the rooms in Japan were designed to work. This one doesn't! We decided to not even try using the shower since no grab bars, or towell bars, or places to put clothes.

Very neat, historic hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fair sized and immaculate. The bathroom was comically small but this is a nearly 100 year old hotel. My friend had a \"bigger\" bathroom in his room so if it a huge issue for you, ask at the desk.

According to the staff, Denny's up and left with 6 days notice. The hotel is working to have their own coffee shop open by the end of May

There is major road construction in front of the hotel but this is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 26.

Super pet friendly with several parks and green spaces nearby to walk your pooch.

I will stay here again when returning to Ely

I was disappointed in my stay. I booked the standard room, the least expensive. And looking at the photo again I can see it is the room I received but you cannot tell from the picture how disgusting the carpet is, or the curtains. The a/c wasn't working well. Pay the extra few dollars to get the deluxe which looks to be the same room, just remodeled.

Room was small and outdated. Bed was hard and it squeaks when you make any move. Everything in the area was closed, no restaurants were open and the few that were open were not close and expensive. No breakfast options as well. No shopping in the area. All the stores were closed, either for the day or permanently. Roads in the town were all torn up for construction, which had trucks driving right by the hotel at 4:30am. Should have been a warning when booking that the whole town was closed and under construction

The room was clean but very very small. One could barely move around. No desk or table, only 2 plugs and no chair to sit on. We have CPAP machines and could only plug one in. The whole place smelled like smoke but our room was on the third floor so it was a little better. Even though the website stated there was a cafe, there was nothing. We had to go out in the snow to get some dinner. Never again.

Bar and bartender was great casino machines are loose and favor the players like how Vegas used to be! This establishment gets it! The restaurant was going through renovations, so we had to jump across the street which was also going through some renovations, to eat but the service was fast and the food was good so no problem there. The best part of this hotel is the aura that takes you back in time. From the small elevator to the narrow hallways we felt as though we had stepped back in time. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and the paranormal activity was through the roof. I loved this hotel and will definitely be back for the comfort and for another investigation.

Very outdated & old. Front desk staff was nice & friendly. Linens & bathroom were clean but carpet was dirty & stained to the point we didn’t even want the bottom of our luggage setting on it.
The property is so old (no building codes) that the toilet is so close to the wall we literally had to turn sideways to use it & we’re thin people, lol. Only stayed 1 night bc we were passing through & that was enough to make it memorable & get a laugh.

No restaurant inside hotel even though they advertise a Denny’s. Went across the street to the Jailhouse Casino restaurant where the service was absolutely horrible and it took over an hour to get our food when the restaurant was empty. Over priced, I will never go there again.

To be 100% honest, I was a little hesitant when I pulled up to this old building, but got upstairs to the room, and it was amazing. We had been in hotels the whole week before, and this was by far the coolest room we stayed in. It was very updated, comfortable, and a space my whole family of 6 could stay together and not be crowded.

Interesting old building and property. Best suited for someone wanting an old-time Nevada casino experience. Building is nearly a hundred years old, and has many quirks associated with that.

If you are looking for normal lodging after pushing it hard on the road, this is probably not the best choice. If you are looking for an old-time casino experience-enjoy

Room old but clean. Reviews state the deluxe double are the renovated rooms. Pictures for the delux double. Show renovated rooms also. For that reason we paid for the deluxe double. We were given a standard double room. When I went down to inform the front desk, we were told it was deluxe because it had a microwave which our room did not. Yes the picture for a deluxe double show a microwave but we did not have. Room clean but old. It is an old hotel with casino so does smell really strong of smoke but not bad in room. Having Dennys in hotel was convenient. They also provided $5 off vouchers for Dennys which was nice. Also provide drink tickets for free drink per person for the night. Worked for one night stay.

We really enjoyed our overnight stop at the end of Feb 2026. We stayed in the Waynescott Suite and it was such a warm room with a lot of personality!

We definitely recommend this hotel if stopping overnight or staying a few days. We slept so soundly in great beds. Plus the staff was so friendly and helpful. A true of the beaten path gem.

The staff were terrific. The hotel is wonderfully old school. I like it. The room was fine, the casino is a hoot, and my husband and I enjoyed sitting at the bar, playing black jack on a machine and having a couple of margaritas as we watched the Olympics. We also enjoyed Ely - walked around looking at the beautiful murals that have been painted on the buildings. We'll go back!
