Smaller than what I was expecting. Was not good for me being a handicap person Especially that uber and taxis will not access in front of hotel you have to walk and meet them somewhere. Could not get WiFi on laptop. No phone in room so if you nee something you have to go down to the lobby. No need fe. She me staff acted put out when you asked for something. As handicap person the shower situation was uneasy getting in and out. The tile work is beautiful.

I stayed at the Hotel Canton for an extended time (12 days) so I felt I got to know the facility very well. My room was modern in all respects. And both my room and the hotel were spotlessly clean. The entire staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. When I checked in, I requested a room with lots of light above all else. The room I got (207) had two glass french doors leading out to a generously sized balcony (approx. 3 by 12 feet) which I would use in late afternoons for reading. The shower was the best I've experienced, with outstanding water pressure. It was a pleasure! The hotel has several convenience stores very close by. Overall, I was very pleased with my choice and would stay there again.

Perfect place when you look for easy access to almost everything. Nothing fancy, it’s not modern but I was alone and always outside the room so no need for fancy and that’s the deal.

We had thee great nights here. The staff was welcoming. The room was comfortable- stayed in a room with 3 twins. They offers a small fridge, Wi-Fi and AC, although I had a hard time with getting the AC to a happy medium. The space is clean, offers a bathroom, water station and microwave in the hallway. I would definitely stay here again.

Barcelona Gothic Quarter

Situated in the gothic neighborhood of Barcelona, the hotel is near everything. The room is basic, with two single beds put together to make a twin bed. The mattress was quite hard. There was a mini refrigerator and a tea kettle in the room. In addition, there was air conditioning that never seemed to get very cold. Also note most taxis would not pick up or drop off due to the location on the tiny street. However, it was very close to the Main Street. I didn’t try the breakfast as there were coffee shops nearby.

Fantastic location, 2 blocks from waterfront and all of ramblas and gothic quarter walkable. Serviceable and worth the money. I found the beds hard and wish it had a bidet like most hotels. We had a necklace snatch attempt in the doorway and the front desk seemed not to care. But petty street crime Ina tourist district is just a thing

Hotel Canton is a hidden gem (literally!). Barcelona has been the most expensive city to stay in on our trip so far, but this location was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for an affordable hotel that is right where the action is, this is the place.

Canton Hotel is a modern, comfortable spot in Barcelona’s historic center. It’s an easy walk to landmarks, the room and area had everything I needed for a great stay. I especially enjoyed wandering the narrow streets, walking to the Palau de la Música and Gaudí locations. Highly recommend for a convenient and enjoyable stay for solo travelers and mature adults.

A little disappointed with the rooms, noticed ants crawling around quite a few places and there didn't seem to be much air ventilation. Aside from that, hotel was fairly okay for the location it was in.

The reception area is a bit tired & when we were checking in this couple were complaining about damp in their room (dealt with well & they were moved straight away) so I was a bit concerned going into our room but it was spotless. Shower was excellent & it was very clean.

Would Stay Again. Great Location, Breakfast, Value

My small Single Room had One comfortable Twin Bed. The Room was Clean & Comfortable. The bathroom was spacious - and had a nice shower with a window. I stayed 3 nights before going on a Cruise. Location was perfect- VERY close to Drasannes Metro Station, the Ramblas, and Placa Reale. 6 Euro Breakfast was excellent - and a great Convenience. In-Room Safe was Great. 24-Hour Front Desk allowed for Late Check-in, and Security. The Area is fine - perfectly safe. The Gothic Quarter is old, and has well-lit narrow streets with lots of Graffiti. The Hotel is half a block off the Ramblas, and just 2 blocks down one street off a corner of Placa Reale. The Elevator is small and modern - typical of the many older buildings in Barcelona. It works just fine.
I would definitely stay at Hotel El Canton again.

Good location and fairly good size room for Europe. The stay was nice however anyone that is sensitive to the smell of cleaners should not stay here as there was always a very strong scent of cleaning products. Breakfast was six euros a person which seemed fair for what we got.

Entrance is down a side street that looks a bit sketchy at first glance, but is really not. Taxi wouldn't even go down the street to pick us up. Selected hotel because it has elevator and requested handicap accessible bathroom. Hotel did respond that accessible bathroom was not available but then put us in THE ONLY ROOM on the entire floor that has a step to get into the room, at the end of a very twisted hallway, despite knowing that a wheelchair was involved. The clearance between the wall in front of the elevator and elevator door made maneuvering a wheelchair very difficult. There is a ramp from front door, but they have furniture positioned at the bottom of the ramp, making it near impossible to get around. And the door itself does not open completely nor by itself, so a second person is required to even get in/out the door. For non-handicapped people, it is a good option, but a wheelchair bound person should be very wary.

Elevator needs some work. Bathroom doors are ok if a couple. But not if traveling as friends. The door is like a double swing with no latch. Needs a grab bar in the bathtub. When leaving the tub it is slippery.

Property was not bad for 3 stars. Guests were slightly noisy. Biggest issue was the front desk assigned someone else to our room when we were inside and when napping someone opened the door startling us and confusing everyone. The other guest burst into tears. We all ended up at the desk downstairs where the attendant shrugged and said “sorry”. Doesn’t inspire confidence in the hotel security.

This is a “I don’t really care where I stay because I won’t be there a lot just for sleeping” the staff was very nice and helpful! The rooms are very simple and small. They only give you one pillow and no blankets (just sheets) which I thought was odd. However, it was in a great location near a lot of nice places but also just good amount away where the noise isn’t bad or tons of people. Simple, easy, and basic is this place but definitely reliable

We flew to Barcelona in advance of a cruise. We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights to get over our jet lag and to use it as our home base to see some sights in the Gothic Quarter. It does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but the room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, there was air conditioning, and the bathroom was surprisingly lovely and wonderful.

Lovely hotel in a very central part of the Rambles. Lots of shops , restaurants & bars within walking distance. The metro is only 5 mins away and even the beach is close by. The hotel is basic but clean with a fridge and kettle provided. Great value for it's location. Definitely recommend.
