Room was lovely had a big balcony but there was a dj right under us at a pool party which was annoying as we wanted to sit and chill. Bar service was not great. Dinner was good (à la carte)but didn’t have breakfast

A little gem in George

A little known of gem in the heart of George. the staff make the stay extra special as they go out of their way to ensure our needs are met.

- Staff are excellent, all very helpful and go the extra mile
- Monique sorted out our check in issue, always very friendly.
- the breakfast team sorted our out dietary requirements, Anwin was great with the kids

The room was on a first floor, no lifts so bear that in mind when you have luggage.

Hotel is spread out and its not one big building but a collection of units, lots of space for kids to play

Fabulous views over the mountains and golf course

We stayed in the main hotel (no lift) not the outer rooms and although they were a bit dated (think brown carpet) they were large and clean.
The shower is of the \"in bath\" variety but they is a glass panel so luckily no shower curtain! The water pressue was reasonable but bath quite slippery, and with no grab rails not suitable for older people.
The tea/coffee/milk wasn't restocked in our 3 days which was a surprise but there is a fridge so you can buy milk etc.
You do need a car if you stay here as the closet shops are around 1.2km

Comfortable overnight stay

The hotel met our expectations. With Marriott-Protea hotels you know what to expect and in this case this establishment never disappointed, they stuck to their standard service offering, which was very pleasing . It was just an overnight stay for us, but we were so comfortable. Keep it up!

The hotel is situated adjacent to a golf course in a quiet location with lovely mountain views. Family rooms are comfortable and on-site parking is convenient. The bathrooms do need some maintenance though. Good value hotel in George.

Well located with good access to N2 and also handy for local restaurants and for trips to Cango Caves, for example. Unfortunately,, the bathrooms in the annexe bedrooms did not appear to gave mechanical extraction and became very damp in damo weather conditions.

We stayed over for one night and i was very happy with my air conditioning room, comfy double beds and professional staff. Kids enjoyed the option of two
Swimming pools. Hotel feels safe and secure with beautiful surroundings.

Hotel is good & well maintained. Staff needs to improve in providing better services to its customers. Our flight was at 4.30 PM & we wanted an extended stay till 1.00 PM. But was denied. We wanted to have our lunch at the hotel before proceeding to the Airport. It was also refused. I was really surprised. This is how your treat your guest. Next we asked your front desk to book a taxi for us, they arranged it for R 1900 for 4 hrs whereas the price was only R 450. At the end we had to arrange on our own through some site at R 450. Your staff at the desk is not at all friendly.

Asked to Pay Again Upon Checkin?

One comment is to sort out interation into hotels .com or to train staff propery on checking in hotel.com guests as my guests upon arival where asked to pay for the stay when it had in fact already been paid for in full. Very irritating and embarrasing as i now had to also forward my receipt to my guest (family) who saw how much i had paid for the stay. Not at all what i wanted.

Arrived to a lovely, air-conditioned room with the annoyance of a wet bedroom floor below the air-con where it had been leaking.
The bar service was very slow on New Year's eve, requiring us to repeat our order before receiving our bottle of champagne. This might have been due to understaffing.
The hotel was not prepared on a staff/service front when it came to breakfast on New Year's morning either. My partner and I needed to wait 15-20 minutes for our coffee. Again, possibly understaffed?

Further than these minor annoyances, all the staff were very friendly and professional. The room was neat and clean.

Dated but ok for one night

Rather dated hotel that is in need of some freshening up. However, rooms were clean and large. Would recommend requesting for a room away from the security entrance as it was quite noisy throughout the night. Check your bookings clearly as we were unaware that breakfast was not included and we were charged upon check out. Some heads up at the breakfast reception would have been appreciated.

This is a pretty standard hotel and although it says it's on a golf course it isn't. It nearby several but all need a car to get to. We were booked in for 3 nights but left after one. Rooms are spacious and mattresses OK, linen OK. TV standard satellite but not many channels.
Our big bug bear was the noise, the staff are a lively and friendly bunch but they are noisy, started at 7am and didn't end till late at night. We were near the gate and they all congregated at the beginning of their shifts and the end. Didn't seem much of the place so average marks generally. Could be really nice with a little more effort. NO FRIDGE!! whats that about, if you are paying the sort of money they are charging you expect to be able to cool some drinks in your room. Generally rooms are tatty, public areas very smart though and staff bright and friendly.

Room needs attention. Had to call room service to clean room on our arrival. Corridor had dirty stains, tiles in bathroom cracked, room needs to be painted. Room's carpet has burn marks. This hotel does not warrent a 4 star rating. Substandard Protea Hotel Hotel. 8 people are sneaked into a 2 bedroom room making the rooms noisy. Hotel is poorly managed.
