We had a lovely time at the Glen Clova hotel, it's set in beautiful scenery and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and our room was very quiet. Only thing I would ask for is mineral water in the room because both taps in the bathroom were running warm water so we couldn't pour a glass from there.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay

Really relaxing stay - the hotel is in a stunning Glen on the edge of the Caingorms with spectacular scenery. The staff were really helpful (all of them) and my evening dinner was great. I regret not staying for longer, but will be back. Only negative (but may be a positive) was the lack of a phone signal - although the wifi was great.

The hotel is in a beautiful glen. Our room was spotless and had all expected amenities. Wait staff was so friendly (especially Jamie). I do wish the front desk staff was more available to give advice on things to do in the area and provide trail maps for hikes near the hotel. It was also a lot further off the beaten track than expected. However, overall, it was a good visit and I would recommend.

Absolutely beautiful lodge! We only had one night here, sadly, and wished we could have stayed longer. The breakfast was delicious as well, and the views from the dining room are lovely. I would have loved to explore more of the Cairngorms from this location; I bet it would be the perfect place to stay for that too.

Has to be one of my very favorite experiences visiting Scotland. We loved this hotel. It was beautiful, tidy and the staff treated us like old friends. The staff was simply amazing!!! The food was excellent and the service perfect. Our view out our window was so gorgeous, we keep reflecting back on it, green rolling hills dotted with sheep and baby lambs, incredibly beautiful and peaceful, you can help but exhale and relax. The hiking possibilities are endless, providing all levels of challenge. We adored Glen Clova and highly recommend it.

We had a lovely two night stay at Glen Clova. We booked a superior room which had a great view. The room was tastefully decorated in a farmhouse style. My husband did not like the location of Room 4 which is opposite the stairs, but there is a glass screen and sliding door to reduce noise from the bar and restaurant. Food in the restaurant was excellent. The pheasant pakora was tasty and abundant. My husband liked his venison burger and I enjoyed the venison sausages and mash. Breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked and abundant. There was a particular member of staff who was very hardworking and basically seemed to run the place singlehandedly. We did not catch her name, but she loves tropical fish, especially when their tank overfills!!!! (so that should identify her!). The location for hiking is outstanding. Ample parking. We would definitely return.

Our stay at the Glen Clova Hotel was memorable in every way - the only negative point would be that the room was very very warm even after opening the windows and turning the radiator off.
The staff were particularly helpful and attentive. The food was plentiful,tasty and well presented. A very comfortable stay

Hotel and staff were lovely, as was the amazing scenery surrounding this hotel.
The one downside - I booked this hotel as it was stated as being 14 miles to Ballater which is where I was working the next day. 14 miles as the crow flies yes! But driving, it’s 67 miles around the mountain, that was an hour and 40 mins. Somewhat misleading I’d say.

Perfect retreat

Frequented by hill/mountain climbers, but it is a lovely place for a stay, too. Lovely bar (though it's seating layout is a victim of covid regs., so it can be hard to get a table). The food was varied, nicely cooked and while maybe a bit pricy, that reflects the remoteness of the location). Our room was big enough, had all facilities, and a good sized en suite with good shower & excellent heat/pressure - only caveat is I'm 6 feet tall, and the rainwater shower head was about 1 inch above my head. No problem though, as there was also a good wall mount shower head too. Ideal location for walks of all lengths/difficulties, from a flat stroll to the local fishing pond, right up to the two munros just up the road. Staff were really cheery and helpful (the new bar manageress actually bumped a party of 6, including the hotels own gamekeeper, to the conservatory area, to allow us as residents to have a table for dinner in the bar. That was above and beyond).

The location of the hotel was perfect we were looking for somewhere to get away from the crowds and we could walk the mountains from our accommodation. Our room was spacious and newly renovated. The staff very helpful and friendly. The food amazing. We had a week here and could have stayed for a month.

The hotel visit was our first, very busy due to the race and we were there that too. Difficult to get seat in bar when race was on. Got checked in early which was good . Found room comfortable , nice with facilities. However it was also cold , heater was not working well. Bathroom cosy , and bed so that helped. Staff were all very nice and offered excellent service. Both the bar , restaurant. Would come back and recommend. ( I could have gone to reception about room temp but kept thinking it would heat up)

Liked the setting, the high standard of the fixtures and furnishings, the cleanliness of the rooms and the pleasant atmosphere of the hotel.
A wider choice of menu is required and one item of choice on the menu was not available. Wi fi was not available in any of the outside lodges and buildings.

Really enjoyable stay, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Disappointed with the housekeeping service as the damp towels weren’t replaced during our two night stay. WiFi service disappointing, only available in the reception area. I appreciate the rural location but is easily remedied with boosters. Poor location of TV on wall as the only place to view it is from the bed but, due to the 4 poster bed, one person’s view is obstructed by the pillar of the bed, again, easily remedied by moving the tv to a more central location. None of these points ruined what was a very enjoyable break in a beautiful location.

We loved the location, close to the nature preserve and a beautiful hike we did the morning we left. We DID NOT feel welcomed at reception - we were not told about the lack of WiFi. The only location for connectivity was near the front desk. Many guests were hovering there for coverage. We also had a tiny, hot room.

Nice and peaceful. If you like walking or fishing this hotel is perfect. Room was nice but there was no room to get around beds as they were tight against wall at both ends,ensuite was okay with a good shower. Meal at night was good but it seems if you don't take a starter you have to wait an hour for your main course after ordering as we did,other tables that ordered starters got there main course before we got ours.

Good hotel in a great location

We had a very enjoyable 2 nights in this beautiful location. The food was excellent and we ate in the bar both nights. It was only let down by a slightly tired looking room and some minor issues with cleanliness as there was dust and cobwebs around the room, as well as little things such as our cups not changed, or tea restocked on the tea tray. However overall we really enjoyed our stay and we would stay here again.

Struttura di 3 stelle ma con i prezzi di un 4 stelle. Per quello che l'hotel offre, tolta la posizione dominante sulle Angus glens, trovo che il prezzo non sia giustificato. Se si sta più di una notte non vengono fatte le pulizie in camera, non c'è un frigobar con delle boccette d'acqua nelle stanze, e se vuoi l'acqua la devi pagare a parte. Anche la colazione è davvero molto povera per quello che uno paga. Sinceramente non ci tornerei.
