Staff was very nice and extremely helpful. Location is very convenient, right next to Uchisar Castle and walking distance to Pigeon Valley. Ceilings in cave rooms are a little low and take a bit of adapting. Staff helped to call taxis and arrange tour. Staff member 王勇 was very helpful. Thank you again to all the staff at Caldera Hotel.

Best views, great service, close to everything.

The online photos of the room we booked didn’t do it justice. Everything was perfect, very comfortable, cozy & quiet. The bed was very comfortable & the bathroom was clean & modern, however if you are taller than 160cm/5’4” remember to duck as you go through the bathroom door as it is quite low & my 170cm husband scraped the top of his head a couple of times. We enjoyed the seating area & table just outside the room, watching the hot air balloons early in the morning & everywhere a glow at sunset. In the morning & evening all the swallows & swifts put on an aerial display for us to enjoy, as they darted between the sparrows & pigeons. The breakfast room looks over the same area too, it has huge picture windows so you can see over the whole valley whilst having breakfast. Senza Restaurant was very good too, the waiters were very attentive & the food was delicious. The hotel doesn’t have parking, but there are 2 car parks a short walk away. The laundry service the hotel uses also accepts hotel clients’ washing in the morning & charge per washing machine load & return your clean clothes the next day. If you need a same day service, we found a full laundry service in Goreme called Maccan Laundry, we took a bag full of washing at 10am & it was ready for 5pm.

It a small boutique hotel with a great view of the uchisar castle. The breakfast spread was generous and immaculate, I especially enjoyed the rose and pistachio jam. I wish the rooftop was open for us to enjoy some drinks. We got the panoramic suite and it was totally worth it for the view.

We do enjoy our staying at Caldera Hotel very much. Opening the door in the morning, we can see the valley scene and the castle, though it is a pity to miss the view of flying hot air balloon as we get up too late. The delicious breakfast is a bonus actually, it is above beyond our expectation. We had a pleasant talk with the young receptionist who is still studying in the University and speaks Chinese and English very well. We will come back again one day.

Great Stay at Caldera Hotel.

Great - I would have left a Perfect 10, but Caldera lost a few tenths of a point for the doors and screen. Doors a little tough to close and lock, and the screen was torn, other wise nearly perfect place to say.

Breakfast was a 10 for both presentation and taste.
View is an absolute 10 from the room and the breakfast table.

Internet in the room is bad due signals not penetrating the cave, but not a minus, just a reality. Hot Water in the room, and Internet is just fine in the lobby and breakfast area. Convenient Charging stations for phones/devices throughout room.

Staff super friendly and willing to help and schedule events/tours.
Definitely Recommend.

I think this hotel has great potential and I would still recommend it to many people (just not high-end, fussy individuals). We stayed in 2 different rooms and both were nice (authentic) cave rooms. They were modern, with A/C, fairly soft beds, comfy chairs or sofas, but a musty smell - maybe that is an unfortunate downside to the cave experience. The location is great - right next to large fairy chimneys, with lots of trails to explore... but it's not well kept. There are fairly tall grasses and weeds. When the tour buses leave there is some trash remaining. And I don't want to fault the locals, but they seem comfortable with degrading household items around... an old door laying for years on the ground, some old chairs stuffed in various caves. The one staff member we met was nice, but neither of us spoke the other's language (our fault), so communication was poor. We had to leave for the airport before breakfast, so I cannot evaluate the free breakfast. I wouldn't like to make the grounds Disneyesque, but trimming back the weeds, more flower pots, and general upkeep could raise this place to a much more desirable level. We also stayed in Göreme at the Harmon Cave Suites and The Sultan Cave Suites - both provided an attractive, upscale experience. Clean grounds, lots of flowers, soft comfy outdoor furniture. The Caldera Hotel could try to emulate these other hotels and maybe draw in more customers.

This hotel is very close to Uchisar castle with a beautiful view of it but in turn, one of the most expensive stays of our trip. We stayed the first 3 nights in one of the cave suites but it was too humid and musty so we asked to change rooms for our last 2. According to staff there was lot's of snow last winter so that room in particular was still wet. The bed always felt wet. It was too bad because it was such a beautiful room. We looked at another cave room which did seem better but by night 3 we were over the damp sleeps so just switched to a stone room. The only problem was we had paid premium prices for the cave room and they gave us a very small stone room. Still nice and with a view but felt like they maybe could have given us a little bigger room more on par with what we paid. (They said at the time that there weren't any others avail but when I had looked on their site there seemed to be but I wasn't going to argue it, at least they were willing to change us). The breakfasts were really good. One thing I think is that they could polish up and refine a bit - sort of more what you might expect for an expensive hotel. There was spare furniture being stored outside the cave room, pamphlets and water bottles etc left in hallways and many burnt lightbulbs in rooms. Not the end of the world... However they did say they were understaffed and having trouble finding people so perhaps that may be part of it. The rooms were very clean though. So overall I would recommend!

Stay here instead of in Göreme - you'll be happier

One of the best travel experiences we've had.

Selman Öksüz, the proprietor, was wonderfully patient, so generous and made our stay special. The hotel is in Uçhisar, a smaller, not-as-crazy alternative to the more touristy & noisy Göreme a few minutes away.

The room was comfortable, clean and relaxing with an unobstructed view of the fairy chimneys at and around Uçhisar Castle. The morning breakfast brunch was delicious & filling - it's almost too much.

As a tourism veteran, Selman provided a lot of history & background to the area. He provided his insights for the area and even debunked some tourist myths. His passion for the hotel and its guests was obvious. He even provided an impromptu performance on the saz, a Turkish guitar.

The town is small, sleepy and downright charming in its hospitality. It was a wonderfully relaxing get-away in a magical area.

We like the bathroom, but we were expecting more from the room. There are some lights that need fixing (one by the bed, one or two in the bathroom,) and I feel the room is a little too dark. The bedroom area is deep in the cave and is more humid/cold, but I guess maybe all cave rooms have similar problems, not just this hotel. The dehumidifier doesn't help much (and it's noisy), I think maybe with a heater or bed warmer it'll work better.

The breakfast is beautiful and rich, very nice ingredients, it'll be even better if there are some fruits. The view outside the hotel is beautiful.

In general, I don't recommend staying in a cave. We didn't have a nice rest. It's not about this hotel, but caves are humid and colder and the dust keeps falling. I'm glad we only had one night in the cave, I'll be happier if we never stay.

Brilliant staff and beautiful views

Staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable.
The breakfast was amazing!
It’s a 10 minute drive from Goreme and a 2 minute walk away from a Castle.
Room and bathroom was comfortable, and a great experience to be staying in a cave.

My husband and I were not wrong in selecting this cave hotel. My dream really do come true upon seeing the unique, cosy and nice hotel. Thank you for the warm hospitality rendered by the hotel staff. We both miss the good and yummy breakfast spread!!:(

年末に2泊滞在しました。
スタッフさんは皆さん気さくな方で、困った事や早朝のチェックアウトなどにもすぐに対応していただけて、とても助かりました。

カッパドキアは雪が降っていてかなり寒かったのですが、部屋の中は暖かくて薄着でも大丈夫でした。
部屋もベッドも綺麗に清掃されており、水回り（シャワー、トイレ等）もトラブルなく使えました。
飲料水はボトル2本置かれていたので、買い忘れた際に助かりました。
壁や棚には工芸品などが飾られていたりして、トルコらしい雰囲気の内装も素敵でした（荷物を移動させる時などは、当たらないように少し注意した方がいいかもです）。

朝食は種類もボリュームも満点で、景色を見ながらゆっくりいただけました。
チャイをお願いしたらポットでたっぷり貰えて、寒い日だったこともあり有り難かったです。

近場での食事については、ホテルにもレストラン・カフェが併設されてますし、近くにお土産屋やカフェも点在しているので飲み物や軽食が購入できます。
ギョレメ行きのバス停までは徒歩10分ほどの距離でした。

何よりホテルの中庭から見える風景がとても素敵でした。
すぐ隣にはウチヒサル城もあり、夜のライトアップを好きなだけ見ることができて、最高のロケーションでした。
暖かい時期であれば、テラス付きのお部屋に滞在するのも良さそうです。
カッパドキア独特の風景に囲まれて、ゆっくり過ごしたい方には特におすすめです。
とても良いホテルでした。

I stayed at this hotel during the snowy season, and the room was warm and very comfortable.
The room was clean, and the bathroom facilities worked without any issues.
Furthermore, the breakfast was substantial, and I could enjoy it leisurely in the cafe with its great view.

The view from the hotel was stunning, especially from Uchisar.
I hope to visit again during balloon season.

And the staff were very kind and friendly.
When a small accident happened during my stay, they handled it with understanding and calmness.
I felt very comfortable and safe staying here.

Relax e vista meravigliosa a 10 minuti da Goreme

Hire molto bello, con stanze scavate nel tufo che affacciano direttamente sull’incredibile vallata di Uchisar con i camini delle fate. Colazione incredibilmente vasta, personale gentile, il ristorante ha un’ottima cucina. Uchisar è una valida alternativa più tranquilla rispetto alla più caotica Goreme.

Odalar geniş. Manzarası da güzel. Genel olarak iyiydi. Rahatsız olduğumuz 2 konu vardı. 1.si odalara çok fazla oda parfümü sıkılmış oluyor ve alerjik yapıdaki insanlar için çok rahatsız edici bir durum nefes almamı zorlaştırdı. 2.si kahvaltısı hiç iyi değil. Çeşit olarak güzel gibi dursa da hiç hijyenik değil. Ürünler temiz ve taze değildi, hatta bu nedenle sağlığımız olumsuz etkilendi. Otelden çıktığımız için de bu konuyu bildirememiştik.

Amazing views, breakfast and cave rooms!

We loved it so much, that we decided to extend our stay, because of that we got a chance to test 3 different rooms, and all of them were marvellous and unique. Our personal favourite is the cave room with the horse relief (Junior cave suite). Because it is in the cave, it's very dark and absolutely quiet in there, amazing for sleeping.

Every room is beautifully designed and cosy, the bathrooms are great, and the tea station was of use :)) Ah, and the beds are so comfortable! (Except there's one in the small cave room that needs changing!) I also want to thank the girl who takes care of the rooms, she was always so nice and attentive, and the rooms were always neat, with the amazing smell of oranges.

Needless to say, the view from the hotel is amazing, and you can even watch balloons from the terrace, or if you walk 1 minute up to the castle you will see an even more advantageous view of the valleys and the balloons.

The breakfast was extraordinary as well, everything was both beautiful and delicious. I know it's in the tradition for the Turkish breakfast to have tons of food on the table, but as a guest, I would recommend putting all dips in a smaller amount (without cutting the variety of choice), just because it was such a pity seeing part of them go to waste because it's just impossible to eat everything :))

The internet was fast enough for my work, for some reason it nearly didn't work in the other part of the hotel, but the restaurant wifi worked fine there :)

Otele girişimizden çıkışımıza kadar herşey harikaydı. Odaların, manzara,balonları izlemek çok güzeldi. Çalışanlar Güler yüzlü. Manzaraya karşı kahvaltı yapmak hiç bu kadar güzel olmamıştı. Kahvaltısı için bile konaklama yapılacak biryer :) Herkes gitmeli görmeli kalmalı :)

Aslında manzara muhteşem tam kalenin yanında ama gıttıgımız gun okadar sis vardı ki ne balonların nede manzaranın keyfını sürebildik. Ki balonlar kalkmamıştı şansımıza :)
Onun dısında otel genel anlamda ıyı temızlık kahvaltı bunlara dıyecek hiç bıseyım yok sadece ılk gece cok üşüdük klıma acık degıldı yerden ısıtma varmıs fakat bana göre yeterlı degıl birde ekstra yorgan veya battanıye koyabılırlerse cok ıyı olur :)
