Location is near Baima shopping area. Good for buyers.
Guests staying at the Hotel are talking loudly along the corridor. Open and close the door many times creating the \"slamming\" sound of the door after closing.
Not a place to stay if you are a light sleeper.

I had the most horrifying stay this time. I normally stay at this hotel due to its location but this time there was some construction going on across the road, near the station. The work carried on whole night , I could not get any sleep for 5 nights. Since the room rate was paid in full , I could not change hotels. I requested them to change the room but they moved me into a worser room. A bad experience.

Great Location for Market Business

Hotel is in the optimal location if you are needing to conduct business in the garment district. Located just outside of the D4 exit from the metro and convenient to eating establishments. Guangzhou Rail Station is directly across the street. Only complaint is that the gym was not available for use. Otherwise, no complaints.

If you are on a budget

This is a low cost hotel offering a large comfortable room with a good bed with good quality bedding and a good shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it is on an extremely busy intersection with a flyover and opposite one of the major railway stations that provide a lot of external noise and light pollution that the rooms on the front of the hotel struggle to insulate you from. If you are a heavy sleeper or happy to use earplugs then the low price makes the hotel attractive, but if you are a light sleeper you may struggle.

Comfortable stay, neat hotel

Stay was comfortable, difficult to get around at night as the area is quiet. Daytime is alright and the centres around are very busy. Railway station is within walking distance and 24hr Macdonalds at the Hotel.

The outlook of the hotel is nothing impressive. It's in the middle of a clothing wholesale zone. Location is right opposite Guangzhou Train and Metro station. Therefore transportation is not a problem. When comes to night, it's totally quiet as most of the wholesaler are closed.

Came for Canton Fair so it's OK for us.

modest hotel with good location.

I chose the hotel for its location and shopping. It wouldn't appeal to my wife, as it is a three star hotel with the rooms a little drab. Everything functioned however. The bathroom floor had some hair left from previous stayers. The morning breakfast was just adequate. I paid around 90 USD a night. Paid 110 USD in a four star hotel in Kunming for comparison. The difference between 3 and 4 stars is large in the sense of amenities.

Excellent Location - Need Help with Housekeeping

Ok hotel. The best thing about it is its location to the main fashion wholesale markets of Guangzhou. Also right next to the subway. Across from one of the main train stations. All taxi drivers know the location. Main customer facing staff speak ok English if you need it. Hotel staff aren't quite aware of the needs of guests/ don't care. Rarely but rarely refilled with coffee in the room. Within the hotel there is a little convenience store (not hotel owned) just by the ATMs, slightly more expensive than outside but very very convenient and stocked with a decent range of food, drinks, beer, instant noodles, coffee, Chinese snacks, Korean snacks and even some gift type items. This always makes my stay more comfortable.

Drawbacks: Asked for a late checkout due to a complication with a late opening warehouse which meant I wouldn't have time to arrive get back to the hotel and shower before official checkout time, needed an extra hour or two, I had to battle for them not to charge me for a full half day. This is despite the fact that this is my third or fourth stay with them, staff know me and my wife by face, I know them by face and I stay for weeks at a time. Even after agreeing that I wouldn't be charged, was called in my room and told that I would be charged, at check out all was fine but the staff can be like little robots at times. Tip: If you ever need something, don't ask the new guys, do ask the oldest person at reception. Cleanliness is not great, is okish.

Hotel suited to garmet buyers

Hotel is clean and safe located in the garment district . Basic facilities that most travellers will require. Stayed here several times . Staff are friendly by Chinese standards. Food offered is western or Chinese. Be careful when using taxis. The drivers will often switch your money for counterfeit and try to say you gave them \"bad money\". Happened to us reported to hotel staff who did not care.

Perfect market location, Chinese quality

Rooms are dirty, everything is used up. They don't even provide you with shower gel, or shampoo properly.
I had an argument in front of the lobby with a Chinese, and I asked for help with the translation. The lobby boy left, someone came from the reception, but was not willing to translate, told me to call the police. Not what you would expect as help from the hotel staff.
The other bad thing since last year is the Taxi situation. The hotel has 2-3 Taxis standing in front of the hotel, but you can not take them on the meter, like other taxis, but they tell you for how much they take you to places. To places near buy they don't even accept the ride, on longer rides they ask 30-50% more. And the hotel knows about his, and does not do anything. So if you as a hotel guest need a proper Taxi, you need to catch one that is not in front of the hotel. This does not happen at any of the international chains.

There is a mcdonalds on the first floor which helps if u get sudden hunger pangs. But there is not much eating places nearby. However, u r just next to the bus terminal , metro and train station which makes it easy to get around. Being just 1/2hr away from the airport helps so u can maximize ur time in GZ.

2 unpleasant things First minor setback when entering room for first time, there was very strong old-cigarette-smell (despite asking for non-smoking room on booking and again at reception before getting room) but luckily I brought own air-freshener So this was easy to solve.But a 2nd & more disappointing setback is zero internet access in rooms despite the hotel advertised as free wifi in rooms. Yes there was free wifi but not internet access. Complaining to reception staff didnt help; they just told me to use the free wifi in the hotel lobby. On the plus-points; the Chinese restaurant called Wen Hua on the second floor serves very good chinese food and the rooms are comfortable, spacious with amenities quite complete (except for no internet access) The location also quite convenient near train station and metro

The hotel is located in the central of fashion wholesale centre market. However, unless you are here for this kind of business trip, you might be disappointed as most of them don't entertain walk in customers for retailing. The hotel is located next to MRT, railway & also bus terminals. The environment is very crowded & busy. Not suitable for family with small kids.

Did not have the ammenities that you would expect. Currency exchange was not always available. Buffet was overpriced. Rooms were adequate. No shampoo, too few towels, and not much soap. I waited a very long time at the 3rd floor restaurant. I ordered 3 items. One was served after about 15 minutes, the next 20 minutes later, and I gave up and left before getting the 3rd item. It would have been nice to get all three at once or in close proximity.

They have no clue what 4 star hotel customer service looks like. Felt like a cheap motel 8 with an attitude. They were insulting (did not believe I had a reservation for the price I actually paid for on Hotels.com and in fact tried to charge me a 15% extra service fee after running a whole bunch of math on a calculator in front of me showing how cheap I got the room.) The also did not accept my workmate because they did not have the same type of ID as I did. Also, they asked for an extra 300RMB for deposit instead of taking a credit card hold. So in the morning I waited for 30 minutes for a moody employee to as slowly as possible return the 300RMB deposit.

We went there to stay for 3 nights on the last day we have reqested for late check out, So the night before they told us the price XXXX. On the day that we are in a hurry to check out to catch our flight they charge us ALMOST DOUBLE THE PRICE that they have told us. What can I do even I complain my credit card deposit in in their hand. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS HOTEL. WORST HOTEL I HAD EVER STAY IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Even the staff are insulting us in Chinese. I Have been staying in this hotel quite regularly ,almost every 1.5 months on an average. Most staff is familiar that i am a regular guest. However this time my experience was bad. I lost my room keys & i was \"Charged\" 30 RMB for issuing a new key. I have traveled at least 20 countries & hundreds of hotels but never came across a hotel charging money for a duplicate key. I use this hotel only because of convenience & business reasons. The toilets stink, air conditioning never works properly.

Clean and fairly priced!

The stay was comftorable and the price was fair for the quality of the hotel. If you are into fashion than this is the place to stay but if you are out to see the sights then you may look elseware. I have stayed at this hotel many times for my anual visits to the Canton trade fair. It is clean well run but the neighborhood is filled mainly with retail and wholssale fashion accessories. If that's your thing or if you are here to do business than this is a good buy!

high rate due to canton fair, first room has squashed roaches

checked into the room after a long flight on entering the bathroom noticed three squashed cockroaches on the floor, was cleaned on the third day. the bathroom was well worn out taps and handles chrome has peeled and worn off to the copper. carpets stained, wallpaper peeling off, fridge not cooling so drinks are warm. non smoking room requested, but room smelled of smoke. Room cleaning on requesting a second room was better, housekeeping cleaned properly. Mould was covering grout between tiles in bathroom, in both room. generally a worn out hotel. not really a 4 star more like a 4 star in the late 80s.

i stayed in this hotel since 2008 more than 100 nights for sure , i noticed every visit worse than previous one ... this last visit come up with new 2 items : first one : they reduced the size of free bottle water in room from 0.6 ml to 0.3 ml ... second one: after you pay for excutive floor you find that the only bebifits are you can drink a coffe for free once a day and during specific time only which is after noon for 2 hours thats is all lounge service they provide with completly rude staff ...... i have now only 1 reason left to stay in this hotel LOCATION nothing else.

Second time in GZ. Last time i stayed in FOSHAN, Crowne Plaza Hotel and i guess i got spoiled. Liuhua hotel has a GREAT advantage: Its really close to the Guangzhou Railway Station, one of the subway stations that will let you get mostly anywhere in GZ. Staff speaks moderate english. Customer service is average, close to low quality. This hotel is \"connected\" to the wholesale markets (wholesale meaning you can buy only in bulks of 50 pieces), so you will constantly find tons of people walking around the lobby. In each floor, in front of the elevator is a person that checks everyone who comes in and out. They have a strict control on visitors. In front of my room the door was always open while they had visitors. The carpets are old. Once I entered the room, i perceived a strong smell of dust and humidity because of the carpets. The beds are hard. And i mean HARD. I had a two bedroom and had to dismantle one bed to get the mattress on top of the other bed. Still, i slept really uncomfortable. They had a decent desk and a LCD tv that had one HBO, BBC and the rest was all in mandarin. The view outside is a busy intersection with a lot of traffic. Noise level was low so this wasnt an issue. Bathrooms were old. They were clean but my toilet had a water leak that smelled awful at night. Food at the hotel was ok. 2 restaurants to choose and a Mcdonalds in the first floor. I will look for other hotels for my next stay.

Close to railway station but not the HK to Guangzhou railway station. Middle if the garment trade. Clean and pleasant.

Great location, bad hotel

Hotel was in a great location, however staff were slow and not helpful at all. Food was slow and not so good apart from the Chinese restaurant which was ok. Room was cleanish, beds were exceptionally hard.
