October Visit to Martha's Vineyard
My wife and I stayed at the hotel in mid October 2024. The hotel is a beautiful facility located just a short walk from central Edgartown. We were fortunate that the weather during the weekend we were there was spectacular; lots of sun and little wind. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda in the afternoon. We also had dinner reservations at the on site restaurant (Bettini) and the food and service were outstanding. It was also our anniversary and we received complimentary glasses of champagne and dessert--nice touches. The building we stayed in did not have an elevator so if stairs are an issue for guests, they should request a room in the building with an elevator.

We loved the porch and drinks in the back bar. The room was ok, carpet was not very clean. The bed and bedding were excellent. The front desk and guest service were friendly but we had a few issues that were not resolved. The charging station is not good for a Tesla, you have to bring your own adapter supposedly. I called twice to make sure we would be able to charge a Tesla and no one said a work about the adapter. When I asked where is the nearest Tesla charging station, they gave me the address that was not existed on the Tesla map. The complementary transportation wasnt really good since no one would pick up the phone when we needed to be picked up.
Overall rate from us is 4, considering a beautiful property, access to the beach, convenient location and beautiful porch with a stunning view of the light house.

Great location and pretty hotel. We just came from the white elephant with excellent customer service. I was not impressed with the service at the Harborview. The only great customer service we received were from the bellmen. Especially Bert, he was always super friendly and willing to go above and beyond. This hotel has the potential to be amazing with a couple customer service, tweaks and handling of certain situations. We had to speak to the manager at one point because someone didn't handle a situation and she was amazing and went above and beyond, but it shouldn't have gone to her. Lower levels need to be trained and better customer service. They could all take a lesson from the Bellman.

This property is in a beautiful location. However, during our stay, staff was power washing on the immediate grounds creating unbearable noise especially in the pool area. The noise was so loud that we couldn’t talk because we couldn’t hear each other. I live in NYC and specially selected this hotel to get away from noise etc. to enjoy peace and tranquility. I did not experience that during my stay.

The hotel in the Ramona wing was nice but not a very enchanting view for $450 a night (looked at the pool) even though I paid for a view of the lighthouse and the water. Staff are wonderful, housekeeping great, and location very nice. Just disappointed in getting a secondary room instead of the first pick-requested a refund of the $145 room charge differential for three nights for two rooms. Hoping to get the refund, working with Expedia. Also noticed that on your website the Ramona room reservation, breakfast is included but yet I’m being charged for breakfast. Little things are frustrating but overall I’d rated seven compared to the experiences I recently had in Thailand and San Diego. BTW Hotel denied refund request. Moving on too a higher level of appeal.

My one complaint - there is a section of the hotel with rooms that smell like mildew. I started off one one of those rooms and ended up with awful allergy issues for days.

On our first night we were put in room 212 which was right on top of a wedding reception. The music was so loud we had to move rooms. After moving to a higher floor we still heard the music that evening. Not sure why they would put someone in a room when they know that the wedding reception would be much too loud for anyone to be comfortable.
In the second room we stayed in, room 417 the air conditioning unit did not work correctly. It stayed on constantly and the room was freezing all night. Had to go downstairs to the front desk at 2 AM to get additional blankets. This was after they said someone had come to the room earlier that day to fix it.
The only other thing was my breakfast at the restaurant one morning came out cold.
Other than that the hotel is in a beautiful location and overall the staff was very friendly.

Beautiful, but not without issues
We have stayed at the Harbor View every summer for over 20 years. The new owner did an amazing job with the renovation - the property has never looked better!
The rooms are comfortable, the pool area and bar are great, and the common areas are beautiful. Having said that, we experienced some issues that should be addressed in light of the staggeringly high room rates.
1. Insufficient seating at the pool. For the $1,200+ per night that we paid, it is not too much to ask that we get a chair at the pool.
2. The pool bar closed at 5:00pm instead of the usual 8:00pm due to a private event. In addition, the main bar in the hotel was also closed to us due to another private event. The bar in the restaurant, Bettini, was jammed 5 people deep and we basically just gave up and left the property after 45 minutes of trying to get a bartender's attention. While we certainly don't begrudge private events, we were very disappointed to pay the rate that we did while 2/3 of the hotel's food and beverage outlets were closed to us due to such events. We understand the national labor shortage, and appreciate how hard the young staff were working. We just expected to at least have access to the F&B outlets for $1,200+ per night.
The rooms are comfortable, the pool area and bar are great, and the common areas are beautiful. Having said that, we experienced some issues that should be addressed in light of the staggeringly high room rates.
1. Insufficient seating at the pool. For the $1,200+ per night that we paid, it is not too much to ask that we get a chair at the pool.
2. The pool bar closed at 5:00pm instead of the usual 8:00pm due to a private event. In addition, the main bar in the hotel was also closed to us due to another private event. The bar in the restaurant, Bettini, was jammed 5 people deep and we basically just gave up and left the property after 45 minutes of trying to get a bartender's attention. While we certainly don't begrudge private events, we were very disappointed to pay the rate that we did while 2/3 of the hotel's food and beverage outlets were closed to us due to such events.
