This is a small family run hotel in a quiet neighborhood about a 10 minute walk from the top of the Spanish Steps. Gracious and helpful people, they arranged a driver for us to the airport in the morning. If you want to escape the crowds for a quiet evening dinner there are many good restaurants within walking distance. Huge park nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience.

The room and bathroom were a little larger and nicer than most others that we had in this price range. There are a few steps to climb before you get to the elevator. The hotel is run by a family, and some of them are engaging, and others are less so. Everything was very clean.

Location is good, few minutes from the Borgese park and Spanish Steps. Hotel is clean and well maintained, rooms and bathrooms are spacious. Owners are very helpful. We felt safe and comfortable at all times. AC was broken on the 2nd day but they got it fixed right away.

There were no amenities like what we're used to in the States. It's a very unique property and the owners are fantastic. There is a great caffetteria e pasticceria (coffee& pastry shop) right next door. Very walkable and extremely close to Villa Borghese!

If you’re looking for old charm Italy this property is perfect, run by a family for over 30 years, The staff were helpful and very courteous. The rooms are clean, however if you have a disability this might not be the best hotel for you. To get into the bathroom, you have to go up two steps, and some of the bedrooms are small ,that could be a challenge for anyone who may not be able to maneuver stairs or needs a bit more space to get around the room. There is a small elevator in the building. The doors are locked at night so safety is not an issue. This property reminds me of a boarding house that we would have in Canada more so than a hotel, however it is run like a hotel. It has air conditioning and within walking distance to downtown and a beautiful park.

We had one of the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was more than accommodating Giuseppe and his family were welcoming and full of information. Their restaurant suggestions were all spot on from the cafe around the block to the restaurant 2 blocks down the street. First time in Rome but definitely not the last and I will definitely be staying here again.

Very pleased with our stay at Hotel Golden. Staff was kind and very helpful. We had a situation with missing luggage from the airline and the hotel owner went above and beyond to help us by making phone calls and speaking directly to the courier for us. Our room was clean, with great air conditioning and great water pressure in the shower! I would definitely recommend Hotel Golden!

I cannot express how wonderful this family owned hotel was. We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff is the best part! The staff are so helpful and wonderful. The rooms are so clean and we’re always well take care of upon our return from the day. It’s far enough away from the Rome center to feel a sense of privacy but close enough to comfortably walk to everything, as we did. We 1,000% recommend this hotel for your Rome stay.

Hotel was clean and the water was hot. Besides that, it was definitely an average hotel. The bed was extremely hard, and there were no amenities in their room, except a couple packages of soap. No bottled water, no snacks or food available at the hotel at all, and you could not leave before 6 AM without waking someone up to open the door. Also, the walls were fairly thin, and I could hear people in the next room as well as the telephone at the front desk.
The area was nice, but everything except a couple expensive restaurants closed up early.
It was about a 10 minute walk to the Metro trains.
Overall, the staff was mostly pleasant, but not terribly helpful it was a clean basic hotel in a nice nice quiet area. That is about it.

Easy walk 25min from the termini, good restaurants and bars in area, easy to walk to the central area and transit for outside area's, giving the key to them when you leave for the day was odd at first but nice not to worry about losing it. I give it better then a 2 star no higher then a 3.5 though

Such a good hotel!! Great location, and SO clean! I am on to always check the bedsheets, the shower, the toilet, everything before touching anything and everything was spotless. Makes staying at a hotel so easy. What really made the stay here though was the staff!! They waited for us after midnight because our flight came in late and then we had to take the train, in the morning Guseppo was so cool! So friendly and helpful. The nephew was really nice and helpful too. Ran by a family and it definitely shows! they made visiting Rome for the first time amazing!

Family run hotel, very friendly members. Area is safe and close enough to walk to Spanish steps and trevi. Few good restaurants minutes from the hotel too and a small coffee spot right next door. We had the largest room a 2 bedroom suite which is a great option for a family with kids. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and daily housekeeping was done while we were out. The room had a fridge and safe and a tv in each room which was handy. We were able to call taxis easily if we needed to head somewhere further, which was good since it was difficult getting cabs other places on the weekend. Termini train station was about a 10 min ride too. Recommend.

Ok so you don’t keep your room key with you. You have to leave it at front desk when you leave and they have to buzz you in when you return. Also, there are supposed to be people there late at night, they are away and probably sleeping so you don’t want to bother them if you want to go outside. I tried this at 2 am and the older lady in the kitchen seemed to be scared of me and closed the door. All and all, I was stuck there. But, clean place and checking in was a breeze.

Excellent stay, great price, with a sweet family running the place. The hotel does have a general curfew of 12am so after that there no one sitting at the reception desk but to get back in you just call one of the phone numbers given to you and the door is opened within seconds. The area is calm, clean, and very secure with multiple embassy’s and police stationed nearby. I would definitely come back whenever I visit Rome!

In email I asked if there was a kitchen and was told yes but no kitchen.
This hotel is more like a Hostel. You must hand in your key and room card at the desk when leaving and returning. There are surveillance cameras but this may be for security reasons. We were not told of these cameras. There are really no amenities. A coffee maker would really add to the stay. We were very disappointed and felt this hotel was inconvenient in many ways. The woman who checked us in was very unfriendly and terse making our original impression negative, feeling very uncomfortable.

The Hotel golden is an older family owned hotel. It doesn’t offer many frills but if what you want is an affordable quiet place to sleep, it’s a good place. It was a little farther from the historic sites but if you don’t mind the hills, it’s walkable. There is a coffee shop close by for breakfast. We did use uber quite a bit because of the amount of walking. The bedding was adequate and the room was pretty quiet. The shower had great pressure and the bathroom was pretty big. All in all, a good stay for the money.

Highly recommend this hotel. It is a family run business and they were all very friendly. The family suite had lots of room for four adults. Very clean and quiet at night. Lots of restaurants to pick from nearby and close to the barberini metro/bus stop which takes you anywhere you would want to go in Rome.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here! The room was so beautiful and the location was great! The best part was probably the staff though - it is a family-owned business and we got to meet several of the family members. They were all so kind, helpful, and flexible both before and during our trip. They stored and cared for our luggage when we arrived early and were willing to offer an incredibly early check-out as well. We appreciated their delicious restaurant recommendations as well!
