Expedia and the facility both hid the 20€ dog fee and surprised us despite booking with the filter option”pet friendly” the staff was pleasant but not at all flexible over the hidden fee.

Good hotel for one or two nights

A nice hotel, super location and stunning views with great staff who really do work hard to please you.

However, it appears its glory is fading and it is in need of a refurb.

There is a Spa of sorts attached but it works limited hours, so be prepared to get there early if you want to use it. Within the guest areas, you could smell stale smoke and the hotel restaurant was in a windowless small room with limited choice and poor serving staff and breakfast was just awful, has the budget been cut to 50 cents per guest?

That said, we enjoyed our stay, the staff are excellent and if they invest some money into refurbishment then it will be a first-class hotel.

We stayed in a suite--sitting area with sofa and chair between door and bedroom area. Nicely appointed. We did not use the swimming pool or spa. There is a pleasant bar with outdoor tables on a patio with a view down to the Adriatic. Breakfast tables are on the same patio. The hotel restaurant was a great deal--25 Euros for pasta, main, contorno, and dessert. Pretty sure that it's the best option in Monte Sant'Angelo, a delightful place to stay in the Gargano.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and roomy and the bed comfortable and A/C worked well. Price of room was a bit high though, especially since there were no amenities like soap or shampoo or regular towels in the bathroom. (The towels that were available looked more like linens.) The faucet was leaking but the bathroom was far enough from where we slept that the dripping didn't bother us. We didn't want to come off as complaining Americans so we didn't report any of these things to the front desk. It would have been nice -- since the price of the room was so high -- to have a coffee maker in the room for coffee in the AM. The breakfast that came with booking the room was awesome though. Location is nice - close to the castle and sanctuary and the charming town. We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the spa and were surprised that we would be charged for towels to go to the pool with so we didn't go. 🙁Again, for the price we paid, shouldn't bathroom and pool towels be included? We think so. We slept good the first night; the second night, there seemed to be lots of activity in the early hours of AM (Monday night) and we kept hearing sounds like our door clicking (maybe from air moving through area in hallway?). Air-conditioning was of utmost importance since we visited in August and our room met the expectations where this was concerned. We were shown how to use the TV when we first checked in but couldn't manage to get it to work afterward.

The hotel is comfortable though it could use an update. The WiFi had some issues but they are working to correct it. The staff was excellent! Helpful and friendly. They are still using COVID protocols for public areas. The views are amazing and you have access to the whole Gargano penalty from here. Provided you don’t mind driving the twisted roads.

The website showed photos of an indoor pool. We booked this trip with 3 kids u dear 18. The pool is part of the spa... which is not open to anyone under 18... but this was not specifically stated regarding the pool. Also... the website says there is a shuttle to the beach... no shuttle during Covid. It’s a long drive down the mountain. The water pressure in our rooms was terrible! The showers were small and no water pressure.

It was on the very very top of the mountain and town, very close to all attractions only walking distance to the Holy Church of the Cave of St. Michael where everyone is going who goes there. Close to all buses and the Castle too. It has a Spa free to use bring a bathrobe and rubber flip flops and a swim cap for spa. Lovely swimming pool and GREAT views. Loved it. will go there again!

Checkin: spoke good English, told us everything we needed and helped with our bags as it’s a small hike from where you park the car.
Hotel is older but well kept, rooms were nice, larger, bathroom was great, has fridge, clean, balcony was wonderful.
Amenities: spa you have to pay to rent swim cap, robe and plastic shoes so bring if you want to use like $14 to rent per person. So without that you have outside pool which we were the only ones there. Large and beautiful with a nice view since the hotel is WAY up a mountain, plan for the switchback drive. Little town had everything you would want for to shop, eat, drink, and people watch.

Great location for a pilgrimage, but....

The hotel is situated in the perfect location, however the property needs some improvements and better trained staff. We arrived after a long day driving from northern Italy, we just wanted to check in but the driveway to the door of the hotel was blocked and we needed to get our luggage out and bring it up to the hotel with no assistance or cart to help with. If you have some accessibility difficulties this would be very hard.
Because of our long day we just wanted a quick meal, this was not available... We needed to make a decision quick because they need to know if you were going to eat dinner at the hotel or not. We opted for the meal and it was probably our worst meal in Italy ever ( skip the meal, and the service was bad!!!), There are other options within a few hundred feet of the property with excellent food (for example, La Rocca just across the street). Only one person in the front lobby was able to speak English, although we speak Italian, the staff seems to be overwhelmed when you ask for something in another language.
Overall, the hotel is ok for a 1or 2 nights, they try to sell you additional services when you arrive such spa time, their \"own\" beach (some 30 minutes away) and dinner services. The pool area was a bit unkept and we did not see anyone using it. If we ever back to Mount San Angelo we will probably stay somewhere else.

Reception staff very helpful in getting hair salon appointment in the town and setting up massage next day. Room was a suite with couch, chairs and coffee table separated from bedroom by sliding door. Bathroom very clean; shower quite small. A/C worked well! Breakfast in sunroom overlooking Adriatic Sea.

Wonderful hotel and exceptional staff; they were very helpful. The only difficulty was getting to the hotel: the guidebooks say that if you are driving you shouldn’t go past the Zona Traffico Illimitato signs or you will get a huge fine mailed to you. But the only way to the hotel from our direction involved having to pass this sign. When we called the hotel, they explained that we would not be fined if we went past this particular sign, that there was another one after it that we could not go past. There wasn’t any way to tell the difference between them though. Hopefully there won’t be a fine waiting for me when I get home.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. Staff were very accommodating. Breakfast buffet included a wide assortment of fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, cold meats and cheese. Access to a private beach/bar was icing on the cake!

We stayed 2 nights in April. We wanted to hike in the nearby National Forest. The desk staff was most helpful and lent us a guide book in English about the trails. The views are stunning. The town very interesting. My wife enjoyed the spa at a minimal cost.

Nice breakfast. Did not eat other meals in hotel but looked like reasonable local fare.
Don't forget to bring your own towels for the pool and robe for the Spa, although can be rented if luggage space limited.

Wish I could stay longer. Way better than I expect

The view has to be the best in the area. Perched on the mountain top. It is beautiful in all directions. The grounds are well kept with pretty flowery and the pool area is so inviting. Too bad it was to cold for me to swim. The room was spacious with a king bed and large sitting. The largest private balcony I have had as long as I can remember, complete with table and 4 chairs. Looked out over pool,sea and town. Breakfast was very good. So many choices of sweet breads, fruits, cereals, yogurts, biscotti, lunch meats,and spreads. Wait staff excellent and very attentive as were the staff at check in and check out. Staff always ready to answer any questions and were a great help. Spoke good English too. Highly recommend a stay here. Can't beat the price either. Would be a great place for a wedding too. Nice banquet and meeting rooms. We had to wander and check things out.

I planned this visit the Shirne of St Michael in the mountain caves and the hotel was an excellent location to the caves and a splendid old fishing village. I was not aware that the hotel and city as a summer destination to visit and experience
The seaside. I booked in for early March so the hotel was closed down and we seemed to be the only guest. The dining room and other facilities were all closed. The room was beautiful, the view of the sea breathtaking and the staff was very polite and accommodating. Just would recommend later in the year

Spectacular views at the top of Monte Sant'Angelo

The hotel enjoys spectacular views of Gargano and the Adriatic sea as it sits at the top of the mountain where UNESCO heritage site Monte Sant'Angelo is located. Good hotel with good dinner, buffet breakfast, big garden, lovely pool with amazing views. Reception staff very nice. I was graciously upgraded to a big suite with big balcony.
My only complaints are that the spa is only open from 3PM to 6PM, and that soundproofing is not good. Also, I don't know why but the WiFi never worked in the room.

At 3000 ft, great views ...if the cloud lifts

This is an average hotel in a location high up in the hills near the town of Monte Sant Angelo. It's a bit of a trek to get to, but on a clear day the views are worth it. The hotel room had a bit of a smell which was off-putting. We ate there one evening. The meal was basic and fixed price (25Euros), and not inspiring. I think they cater for large groups & coach parties. However, the value for money is outstanding. This is a 4 star hotel and we payed less than a B&B. It has all the facilities, including a nice garden pool area, so you can forgive some aspects.

On top of the world

The hotel has stunning views looking down at the coast and is close to the church of Sant Angelo and the winding, quaint streets of the small town. The decor in the room is a bit dated, but the junior suite and bath were clean and well stocked. It has a pool with the same fabulous views. Breakfast was a generous buffet.

We chose this hotel because they had an elevator to the beach. They say through September. When my 17 year old son and his 2 younger brothers asked to swim they were told they needed someone over 18. So I left my meal which I had already waited a very long time to receive and had not gotten my main course. The kids got into their swim trunks and we went to ask where the pool was. I was then told you could only swim between 4-7P.M. So I asked how to get to the beach and they said we could not go there as it was only available through September and I told him it is September, he then said through September 2. He was rude, and even though it is advertized that they have these things they don't allow you to use them. Also the light was out in the hallway outside our door so it was very dark. Would never stay here gain.

We enjoyed Palace, but it was billed as a four star. We found the whole experience a good 3 star: lack bathrobe, lack of room service, lack of beach towel (we had to rent them at $5 each), lack of turndown service, towels were thin wafer towels, and only one towel per person. For the town, it is the best hotel, but we don't agree with 4 star. Staff were very nice, breakfast was good, although no hot option was offered.

The hotel had a spacious family room which can dificult to find in Italy. This was the main reason we choose the hotel. The breakfast was limited and not very good. The room was not clean. There was a stain on the carpet which the hotel tried to disguise by putting a table on it. The bath tub caulking was nasty and black. Also the jets on the tub were broken. In addition the minirefrig in the room was broken. We told the staff about the broken minifrig and they did not seem to care and it was not repaired or replace during our stay. Also to note the indoor swimming pool is not for children, it is for SPA users only. The staff was generally not very helpful and seemed unprepared and overwhelmed at all times. The town was a very cute and charming town and the locals were very friendly. However because of the altitude of the town it takes a while to get to the other towns and beaches. Getting to the nearest beach will take 35 to 45 minutes.

Hotel assez vieillissant, on entend parler les voisins de chambre, un chien dans la chambre à côté aboyait, le petit dejeuner était passable. Par contre le personnel était sympatique serviable, le lieu est beau avec un point de vue superbe.
A l'extérieur, la piscine est très belle, on nous impose le bonnet de bain mais beaucoup de personnes ne le mette pas, la règle n'est pas respectée, dommage.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé: L'accueil (nous sommes arrivés très tôt le matin, nous avons été très bien accueillis et nous avons pu prendre un petit-déjeuner (en supplément) et attendre près de la piscine. La grande propreté des locaux. L'amabilité et le professionnalisme des personnels, notamment à l'accueil, au restaurant et particulièrement les personnels d'entretien. La situation aux abords de la belle ville de Monte Sant'Angelo. Le petit-déjeuner copieux.
La belle piscine. L'accès gratuit à la plage privée (15km)
La chambre vaste, la belle terrasse.

Nous avons un peu moins aimé: la température de la piscine (un peu froide, nous ne nous y sommes pas baignés), beaucoup de choix mais manque de variété au petit-déjeuner (pas de changements chaque matin) et l'absence de vrai jus de fruit 100% (mais assez courant dans les hôtels Italiens). La dureté du matelas. Les suppléments (au vu de la classe et du prix de l'hôtel, les boissons du mini-bar dans la chambre pourraient être comprises (deux bouteilles d'eau), l'accès au SPA également), le prix de la navette entre la gare de Foggia et l'Hôtel (100€) (Nous avons donc pris un taxi, car notre arrivée était un dimanche: peu de bus). La décoration un peu surannée. Les extérieurs de l'hôtel auraient besoin d'un petit ravalement. Attention : bonnet de bain obligatoire (vendu 3€ si vous n'en avez pas). Surtout: l'accueil très peu sympathique au niveau de la plage privée (nous nous étions installés sans prévenir le responsable du site)

Le charme de cet hotel repose sur 2 facteurs principaux:
- la vue
- la gentillesse du staff ( accueil - bar - restaurant)
Il ne faut pas négliger non plus le restaurant ,qui pratique des prix raisonnables et des plats de tres bonnes qualités.
Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien équipées.

Il Palace Hotel San Michele, una struttura di qualità che offre una serie di servizi, la mia prenotazione prevedeva la camera con prima colazione, in struttura ho aggiunto il servizio cena con menù a scelta ad un ottimo prezzo, il maitre professionale è riuscito ad abbinare un ottimo vino pugliese.... che dire consiglio vivamente la cena in struttura, ottima qualità e ottimo servizio!
Riguardo la colazione, ottima, buffet assistito con varietà di scelta tra dolce e salato... Consiglio con molto piacere la struttura per chi sceglie Monte Sant'Angelo!

Accolta all'arrivo dal personale qualificato della reception. Ragazzi disponibili e gentilissimi, mi hanno consigliato di fare la SPA ed ho abbinato anche un massaggio rilassante.... Scelta più che ottima, percorso benessere rilassante e massaggio super indovinato 😍....
La struttura dispone di terrazze panoramiche dalla quale si può godere di un bellissimo panorama....

Consiglio questa struttura per la posizione, cordialità del personale, pulizia della camera e ambienti, servizi disponibili e tanto altro.

DÉCEVANT…À FUIR

Arrivée tardive pas de room service (juste des cacahuètes et chips) déplorable en saison creuse rien d ouvert autour
Le p’tit déjeuner pas de chance un bus de touristes avant nous et plus rien à 9h au petit déjeuner et on ne vous propose rien de plus
4 étoiles c’est une blague
Le spa devait être ouvert depuis le 1 avril et non toujours fermé
Les serviettes de toilettes ne sont pas arrivées jusqu’ici ils sont toujours au drap je répète 4*
Une honte, et nous avions pris la suite
J allais oublié les araignées dans la sdb
A FUIR il a du être bien il y a longtemps

Très belle vue, piscine agréable. Hotel très bien situé pour visiter Sant Angelo.
En revanche chambre un peu décevante (terrasse mais sans aucune vue, ce qui ne semblait pas être le cas des autres chambres).

La struttura aveva una vista panoramica bellissima, era accogliente, il personale gentile, colazione abbandonate, piscina all'aperto gratis, camere spaziose e si trova nel cuore di Monte Sant'Angelo un Paese meraviglioso... Consigliato

Grande suite mais l’avant chambre ressemble à une chambre mortuaire. Les serviettes de la salle de bains ressemblent à des nappes (pas épaisses). Les serviettes pour la piscine sont payantes. Le petit déjeuner est très insuffisant surtout si l’on arrive sur la fin du service. Le personnel est quasi inexistant et parle difficilement l’anglais.
Cet hôtel n’est pas à la hauteur de son nombre d’étoiles.

A due passi dal centro, perfetto per il Santuario

Hotel situato a poche centinaia di metri dal centro del paese, perfetto per visitare il Santuario di San Michele.
Buona Colazione a Buffet (servita dal personale nel rispetto delle norme anti-covid), con proposte sia dolci che salate.
L’hotel dispone di un garage privato coperto.

Piccola pecca: nel bagno della nostra stanza il lavandino copriva parte dell’apertura del box doccia (già più piccolo dello standard), riducendo lo spazio utile e rendendo difficile l’accesso.

piccola fuga al fresco di metà estate

Hotel in ottima posizione per il paese, molto vicino al centro storico. Colazione discreta, niente di eccezionale, Bella la sala panoramica e la terrazza da cui si può fare colazione. Nelle camere, cuscini scomodissimi, vista muro delle camere di fronte e nessuno spazio per appendere asciugamani bagnati. Solo una piccola finestra senza nessun punto di appoggio per appendere qualcosa. Piscina ok. Mare/lido convenzionato con hotel distante più di dieci km di tornanti e curve. Centro benessere gradevole ma accappatoio e ciabattine a pagamento!! Mai vista una cosa del genere, tra l’altro accappatoio a noleggio,?a costi contenuti, ma te ne Danno uno e ti dura per tutto il soggiorno ... peccato che quando torni in camera ... non ci sono posti dove farlo asciugare .... Per essere un 4 stelle ci aspettavamo di più ... Pessima la scelta di Mantenere la moquette nelle stanze e in alcuni luoghi comuni.... ricettacolo di polvere e microbi...
reception :pochissime info a disposizione per tour o cose da fare / vedere. Montesantangelo invece è stata una piacevolissima scoperta !! Un paesino molto carino e caratteristico.

giusto rapporto qualità/prezzo, camera confortevole eccetto per la mancanza degli scuri alle finestre (solo tende). Colazione andrebbe organizzata meglio. Bella l' area piscina anche se, vista l' altitudine, l' acqua è sempre freschina. Possibilità di cenare ad un prezzo ragionevole. Possibilità di parcheggio. Nel complesso tutto abbastanza bene.

Ottimo albergo, in posizione panoramica e a poca distanza a piedi dal santuario di S.Michele e dal centro. Servizio cordiale ed efficiente. Albergo dotato di SPA (non provata personalmente).
Ristorante buono a un prezzo molto ragionevole.
Camera spaziosa (per due, ci è stata assegnata una suite per 4 persone...).

Ok hotell, men ikke verd pengene. Gammelt interiør og kjempehiten dårlig dusj. Frokost like dårlig som på alle andre hoteller. Bare søtsaker nesten.
