From start to finish a perfect stay! We arrived in the morning and thought we couldn’t check in until 3pm but they gave us access to our accommodation on arrival. The same with a late check out which made our holiday! The food was great, beautiful grounds and beach. Bed was comfy and a large balcony and two pool areas it was fabulous!

Checking in was smooth and quick. However, when we got to our room, it wasn't exactly the oceanview we paid for. The reservation staff had me walking from room to room throughout the property to identify an oceanview room.

After viewing approximately four rooms, we eventually found one, which was one of the last buildings at the end of the property. (This property is huge)

The room was significantly smaller than the first room we were offered. We also had to wait for staff to add a foldout bed for my teenager in the final room we selected. But, the initial room had beds to accommodate two adults and a teenager. Additionally, our AC did not work at first, but the matter was addressed. However, it made a loud noise, making it difficult to sleep at times.

This was our first time visiting the continent, and....we refused to allow what occurred to spoil our trip. Frankly, the restaurant and activity staff singlehandedly saved our trip. Both teams are exceptional, and it shows by the way they treat guest.

The grounds of this property are beautiful and maintained daily. We felt safe and enjoyed the pool and ocean. The rooms can do with lots of upgrading. Overall, our stay was okay.

May I suggest having images in the office for guests to see what rooms are oceanview. Spending approximately 40 minutes going back and forth after a 10 hour flight wasn't exactly fun.

I booked four rooms for our whole family; we stayed right before Tabaski and I understand usually after this period it is really busy; I am taking time to review Royal Baobab because it is exactly what I expected and beyond; From Binta at the front desk who managed to get me a closer room, to the staff everywhere, Mr Dos Santos who we met in the dining area; the maintenance of this property is huge and everywhere we went it was clean, beautiful; the beauty of this part of Senegal is just something to treasure; it kept all the culture; the food was a variety of Senegalese dish and European; the rooms kept really nice not too luxurious but slightly rustic and very cleaned; I was taking my 15!year old for the first time; it was truly amazing; the entertainment at night with the group responsible of it was just exceptional!
Thanks so very much for staying true to the tradition!

I can see why people rave about the buffet because it’s nice to have options. The staff was very uninviting upon check-in and put me in a room on the second floor of a building that was sooo far from main building. I realized I had paid for an upgrade and was able to be moved. The bathroom was sooooo small and not appealing at all. Beds were hard as a rock. Other than the front desk staff the rest of the staff was very friendly. We were able to for jet skiing and riding quads right beside the property.

The hotel is very well managed and maintained, with nice gardens and beaches. Some activities like catamaran are rare in Senegal and were a big plus to us. The location is great. I used to go to this property, the standards have drastically decreased:
- the beach is now very dirty
- the swimming pools water is not clean and one was closed for several days
- food quality decreased, fruits were tasty, cooked dishes were mediocre
- some of the staff were unfriendly, almost impolite
Is it because of covid? For sure I am not ready to go back to the Baobab, which is unfortunate because it was one of our favourite hotel

Beautiful place with lots to do. Food and accommodations were very good. However no internet in any of the rooms only at reception and bars. Often very poor. Have to pay to use the safe even though they say they are not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Staff is very cold and at times rude if you come early as they are very tough on using facilities if you do not have an arm band yet. Visitors of guests are not welcome. We had a guard follow us when our friends who dropped us off were there for a few minutes looking around. However, once the red arm band was on there reaction to people changed instantly.

J'étais avec ma femme enceinte et on m'a donné une chambre au deuxième étage et au fond de l'hotel et sans électricité. Je suis parti à la reception et J'ai demandé que l'on me change de chambre et on m'a donné un second clé puis je suis allé chercher la chambre dans la jungle. Quand j'ai vu que c'était petite j'ai décidé de rester dans la première chambre en attendant que l'on me ramène l'électricité. Au bout de quelques minutes j'ai encore essayé d'appelé la réception mais le fixe de la chambre ne marchait pas. Je suis encore sorti de la chambre pour aller à la reception. Là on me fait savoir que l’électricité disjonctai à chaque fois que la clim est allumé. Puis ils m'ont encore proposé une autre chambre. Je n'ai pas vraiment apprécié ces vas et viens que j'ai fait le jour même de mon arrivé.

The location on the lagoon is absolutely beautiful and kayaking was excellent. It would have been better if the watersports person told us that the tide would be too low to kayak the first time we signed up. Not sure why they didn't. The staff in that area seemed rather disengaged. The rooms are just okay here, the bathrooms could really use some work. They would be fine at a lower priced facility but for this price I think that the rooms could be a little nicer. Paying extra for the use of the safe seems a little petty. I totally understand if you lost the key but using the safe should be included in the room price. Front desk staff is very nice and the food is good.

\"French\" hotel in Senegal

A great place to get away and unwind, if you're into the all-inclusive hotel experience. Tons of activities, entertainment, nice beach, several pools, and a very good buffet meals. It seems like a great place to take older children, as they have a lot of activities to keep them busy as well. Staff at reception and in the back office were very nice and accommodating, but with a few of exceptions, the rest of the staff were pretty unimpressive: Sneering, rude, and dismissive are three adjectives that best describe them. Not hostile, but stereotypically \"French.\" And that's fine, but know that all that money you're shelling out for this place is not for the staff to be nice to you. Having said that, we will probably go back.

Second time at this hotel. Came back for the food, pool, location and general beauty. I was bothered by the rudeness of the staff, something I don't remember from last time. This concerns reception and bar staff; restaurant and cleaning staff were wonderful.

Btw. check in is at 3pm, not at noon as the reservation said. We were there at noon and an extra lunch was added to our bill.

Excellent stay as always. Although a slight inconvenience in the afternoon when they tried to assign me a room that was below the level ( standard room, no ocean view no sofa bed, twin beds) of what I had paid for ( ocean front queen bed with sofa bed). After requesting a compensation I was given keys to a room that was supposedly equivilant of what I had paid for but it wasn't once I visited the room. I had to return a third time to the reception. The manager tried to tell me that since I was only one person I was given a 1 person room. But that wasn't I had paid for. I had to see some one higher to explain the wrongful assignment and demand compensation. In the end they upgraded me to the 'honey moon suite' because they had given all the ocean front rooms away. I had a great time. I will have to go again to try the ocean front room.

Difficult to check in, but once in, enjoy!

The resort is very good in terms of cleanliness and comfort. However, and having been several times there, the only issue I always find is when checking in. It seems that the Receptionists (may have been instructed to) always try to put people in the old section and/or in the multi-story buildings in the back side of this large resort, even if pax had specifically booked rooms in the new section and had it already confirmed. Also, while the reservation note mentions 12:00pm as the check-in time, the hotel insists on 3:00pm and it is rare that you would be given a room even at that time; they'll make you wait for at least an hour or so before giving you the room. Other than the above, it's a resort worth visiting, especially for the evening shows.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and it lived up to our first excellent experience. We had a problem with our rooms flooding slightly after a particularly extreme overnight thunderstorm. This couldn't have been anticipated and the way the hotel staff dealt with it was exemplary. And before we left I noticed the maintenance team were doing preventative work on other rooms to ensure no reoccurrence (however unlikely). No stay can ever guaranteed problem free so it's the way staff deal with issues when they arise that really counts. And the team at the Decameron Baobab are really on the ball.

Fantastic Getaway in Senegal!

This is our second stay at this resort. It is well maintained and the landscaping is gorgeous. At night, the lighting is very pleasing. The staff is generally friendly and very accommodating. The food is great too. The pools are pristine. Being all-inclusive, our family of 4 (2 young children) had a blast. We will return again. Only two negative things. No free wi-fi. It's only available in the lobby and it is expensive. The distance from the room to the main dining area is long for young children. Not bad if you can arrange to get a closer room. Really, this place is great! We speak very little French and didn't have any problems. I am surprised at how little English is spoken but wasn't a problem. It is tailored to French preferences (i.e. food & entertainment). Also, there are many extras you can purchase such as deep sea fishing and various tours.

The hotel was EXTREMELY crowded when we were there so service was not as great as it could have been otherwise. Nonetheless, we had plenty of space, plenty of good things to eat and drink. Room was very comfortable, but it did smell a bit like mildew. The location of the room was beautiful, though, right in the garden with a great little porch.

There was only 1 restaurant open at the entrance of the resort, the other one was under reservation, the resort is large so if you dont get a room close to reception you are out of the picture. Surprised it is on the sea when the only type of seafood is fish, otherwise same spagetti/pizza bar/beef sutaied and chicken in different ways, salad bar and fruit bar. I ad to go acoross the Lagoon to get Gambas or languist...If your going for food don't. restaurants also not walking distance probably smae disappointment. Beach was nice but alot of rollers , not for non swimmers.I believe booking outside of a tour group we pay at least twice the amount a group would, oh yes, internet only in lobby if it works...Dissaffied. Note: if you only speak english forget mixing, the french dont do that well

Great location, lovely hotel, friendlystaff

We picked this hotel mainly due to location as we wanted direct access to the beach. However, it really exceeded our expectations. The location is at the very end of Somone, right next to a sandy spit that divides the ocean from a saltwater lagoon and mangrove forest (btw it's well worth a trip round the lagoon on a local pirogue - ask for Raphael as he is an excellent guide). The hotel is also close to the baobab forests and within easy reach of the excellent Bandia safari park. The quality of our Ocean Suite was excellent - spacious and comfortable with effective (and much appreciated) air-con. All of the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and great with kids. The only slight downside was that some of the food was a bit overcooked (particularly the vegetables and some meat) but the variety was good with plenty of choice for different tastes. To be honest this is not unusual for all inclusive hotels. All in all an excellent stay and we would certainly return.

Our family spent two nights at this all-inclusive resort and we were pleased with the quality of services (except for that one stolen item that we forgot overnight outside the room's door) and the available entertainment events. The negative side is that WiFi is a costly paid service (compared to the very cheap Internet rates in Senegal) and is only available in the Reception area of this very large compound; our rooms were very far from the Reception area but very nicely located in the new wing near a swimming pool. Food was excellent, though it was a long walk to get to the restaurant area.

This is tough! The location, activities, staff, and food were all great.

The BAD that is easily reperable;

1. Internet charges are ridiculous. 5 euro per hour or 25 euro per day in public areas ONLY. If a hotel does charge these days, it is usually in room only. One day it rained all day. I asked the desk if guest at least got free internet that day. No...again, RIDICULOUS!

2. The ONLY transportation from the airport is a 50 euro taxi. Again Ridiculous. They should have other options!

3. The water out of my sink came out brown! When I asked to speak to the General Manager, I waited over 6 hours then was told he was waiting for me in the lobby. He was very gracious and explained that as it was rainy season they have a filtration issue but that it was still safe. Really? I think not. No offer of any sort of compensation...not even that 50 euro ride back to the airport which would been a nice gesture. As a hotelier myself, I was aghast. I would have given 50% off the stay.

4. TV Reception very spotty, not reliable, limited.

I love the location and staff. The items above are not expensive to fix. They had the opportunity to make a disappointed client very happy for under 100 euro. They failed at this. Had they recovered in a positive way, I would have rated the hotel 5!

It's a great hotel located a the end of the main road of Somone, so it's very pleasant, no more hotel after Royal Baobab, juste the beach and the lagune. We have just one negative comment to make : too many animators and animation extremely noisy from 9:30 to 23:00... Frankly, it's too much! Fortunately, you can go to the beach away from the pool and noise! And ask for a room far from the pool! But it's great with kids and food is excellent and very diverse.

Beautiful hotel with plenty to look at, eat, drink, and many various activities from dusk till dawn to keep you entertained. All-inclusive is very nice. The food was delicious and different each day. The ocean brought in a lot of trash but workers cleaned it up in the early morning. Beautiful though and great waves. Rooms were nice but the non ocean view rooms / shower was small (you can shell out more per day for a bigger room). A/C worked great. Staff was very friendly especially if you speak Wolof. We only speak English and did fine although everybody spoke French. Minor things we didn't like. Pools were very clean. No need to leave the resort with so much to do. We stayed a week and didn't want to leave. The internet is too slow for business. Very expensive too. Overall very beautiful and relaxing. The message on the beach was great! Jet ski, 4-wheelers available. We went on a boat and went fishing. Very cool and caught about 12 fish. Some I've never seen before. We will definitely be going back because we currently live in Senegal and it is a great get away for us. So if you are in this neck of the woods it's worth looking into. The price is reasonable and it is very family friendly as we have a young child. He had a blast too. Would definitely recommend it to anybody. P.S. The Gin and Tonic was my favorite.

Personnel courtois, chambre spacieuse mais qui sentait extrêmement fort la peinture (probablement un mystere local pourquoi repeindre l'interieur des chambres durant la saison seche alors que l'hotel est complet plutot que pendant la saison creuse....), restaurant inclus : nourriture très moyenne : fade. Les pseudo specialtes locales ne sont qu'une pale copie de la réalité, alloco pas cuit, poulet yassa insipide etc, par contre un choix important de plat

Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr schön gestaltet und gepflegt.Es wurde den ganzen Tag geputzt, alles war sehr sauber. Das Personal war stets freundlich, hilfsbereit und bemüht, allen Gästen gerecht zu werden. Die Zimmer sind relativ einfach ausgestattet aber ausreichend, man hält sich ja gewöhnlich nur nachts darin auf. Entgegen der Meinung anderer Gäste haben wir immer Personal gefunden, dass Englisch sprach, falls uns jemand nicht verstanden hat, hat er schnell Hilfe organisiert. Das Angebot an Speisen und Getränken war sensationell.
Wir haben über das Hotel einen Ausflug nach Dakar gebucht, der Preis war okay. Der Ausflug war sehr interessant, der englischsprachiger Guide hat uns im Museum auf Goree eine Privatführung gegeben.

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war sehr enttäuschend. Beim Check-in erhielten wir keinerlei Informationen zu Zimmer, Restaurant, Pool oder Essenszeiten. Uns wurden lediglich die All-Inclusive-Bänder angelegt, alles Weitere mussten wir selbst nachfragen – sehr unprofessionell.
Das zugeteilte Zimmer entsprach nicht der gebuchten Kategorie. Statt eines Bungalows bekamen wir ein altes, schlecht gepflegtes Zimmer, das unangenehm roch, mit getrenntem Bad und Toilette sowie einem unbeleuchteten, gefährlichen Zugang über eine Außentreppe. Die Außenanlage war ungepflegt, und in der Nähe wurde gebaut. Auch der bezahlte „Meerblick“ war praktisch nicht vorhanden – reine Abzocke. Das All-Inclusive-Essen war jeden Tag gleich und qualitativ schwach. Zimmerreinigung erfolgte zwar täglich, aber wichtige Bereiche wie der Badezimmerboden wurden erst nach Nachfrage gereinigt. Für den hohen Preis, besonders im senegalesischen Vergleich, ist dieses Hotel absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Wir würden hier nie wieder buchen.

We kregen bij aankomst een kamer met meerdere gebreken (niet net/lekkende airco/geen vliegenraam/toilet niet proper/geen stromend water). We hebben de dag nadien meteen een andere kamer gekregen: een droomkamer aan zee! Zalig! Het personeel was vriendelijk en stond meteen voor ons klaar.
Eten: schitterend buffet!!
Ligging: een echte aanrader!
Familiehotel: We gaan graag naar rustige hotels, dit was het eerste familiehotel dat we hebben uitgeprobeerd. Het was er heel rustig tijdens ons verblijf. We denken wel dat het een groot verschil is wanneer het hotel volzet is.
Kamer: ligging kamer bepaald je vakantie
All-in: Echte All-inclusive, je komt niets te kort!

Points positifs: Hôtel très joli on y mange et boit très bien, les chambres sont aux contact de l’océan et la plage est très bien, accueil excellent. Chambres spacieuses

Points à améliorer : pas d’internet dans les chambres, beaucoup de moustiques hargneux qu’il faudra traiter. Il faudra organiser le transport aéroport hôtel pour les clients.

Bonjour le premier jour a l'hôtel on arrivait pas à utiliser les wc avec la famille jai fait une réclamation des allers retours a laccueil en vain rien n'a été faite malheureusement.je déplore le manque de réactivité du personnel responsable
