Excellent location but noisy

The location is excellent but being on a busy road it is very noisy with delivery vehicles, road sweepers and bottle banks being used at 6am every morning! I chose to book a superior room with a balcony but didn’t think it was fair value for money.

The hotel is ideally located for restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, marina and beach. This is a very lively part of town but the sound proofing was very effective, as was the aircon. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room recently renovated and clean. The mattress was a little on the hard side for us but our only significant gripe was the very hard bolster style pillows that were very uncomfortable. Some softer, feather pillows would be a good idea. Otherwise all good!

Positive: Maria stood up for me as she was flexible and understanding. The room was excellent and bed comfy. The location is perfect if you want to visit Alicante center without needing transport. This was my second time at the hotel.

Negative: one staff (Juan ) has shown a backward tendance since my 1st stay at the hotel. However, this time around, he tried to not be obvious in his discrimination. Thank you for that.

if youbwant to stay within walking distance of all the action, this is the place. if you want peace and quite, not your place. centrally located on the main street next to bars, clubs, restaurants and just 1 block away from the marina and 5 min walk to the beach. staff was excellent. considering how busy the area is, the room is relatively quite due to excellent sealed windows. the AC kept the room very kool.

I love this property. I have stayed here twice. It is conveniently located right in the heart of Alicante. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are very well taken care of. If you dont want an 8am wake up call though, be sure to put the sign on your door the night before to say no to room service.

The Méndez Nuñez hotel is an excellent budget choice. Conveniently located on the Rambla and close to the marina and beach front. Also great location to access shopping, bars & restaurants in Alicante city centre. Room was a little small but ample size for 2 staying with a large king size bed and comfortable bathroom. The room was spotlessly cleaned daily and restocked with free water and drinks. Great choice for a budget break.

Amzing little hotel. Very clean, old fashioned look, and friendly staff. A very convenient bus stop right outside the hotel where I went to the beautiful San Juan beach. It is only a 5 minute walk from the nearest beach which is also beautiful. I got 6 free drinks in the mini bar and an extra 2 water bottles to drinks on the desk. There is Starbucks and KFC accross the road. There is a McDonald's around the corner and a Burger King two minutes from there. The street walks right to the Paseo de la Explanada de España Passeig de l’Esplanada d'Espanya and you go the beach and the harbour from there. The views are absolutely amazing everywhere you look. There are fountains and statues all around Alicante. Loads of shops, bars, and restaurants and friendly people who greeet you. I made friends on the first day and they took me to the bullring. The hotel is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the lift entrance to the Santa Barbara castle which is also beautiful. The hotel may be a little hard to find as it is a door next but honestly its is not far from the fountain. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to be out and about all day as there were no balconies or proper windows in the room for me as I had two ventilation windows but no view. I was out all day so I didn't mind at all. There is a lift and stairs to get to and from your room which wad great. I would definitely here again because of the convenience of the surroundings. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Great location

Great location, booked a twin room. It was small (shower room was very big given the size of the room) but very well organised and spotlessly clean. Tea/coffee amd kettle supplied in room along with a small minibar. We had no balcony and only a small window, it didnt bother us as we only slept and showered in the room and spent all our time in Alicante out and about. The beds were extremely comfortable and our room was quiet. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 4 nights. The property was on one of the main streets in a very central location so everything we wanted to see was within easy walking distance.
We had a superior room so had a balcony & view of the castle.

Painfully slow check in process with nowhere to sit. There is zero atmosphere in the hotel with only the male reception staff even saying hello.
Tea and coffee making facilities which doesn’t even include any coffee or a tea bag, that’s a first for us experienced travellers. Walls are paper thin, enjoy your neighbours conversations. On a plus…great location and price….just expect basic!

We stayed at New Year and was lucky to have the celebrations literally outside the hotel. Loads of places to eat nearby, also supermarkets for what else you may need. Used the tram to Altea which was very reasonable.

The hotel is very conveniently located. Very central and near all the facilities (shopping, bus stops, promenade). The receptionist spoke an excellent English and was super friendly and helpful.Their 24/7 reception was very convenient as we arrived very late. The room was very clean. The only negative is our room was extremely small! We could hardly move around, everything was there but literally just enough space in the room, the bathroom was nice and spacious though. Also there was no view whatsoever as the window was within the internal little, tiny court yard. We stayed only 3 nights and it was ok for that but if we had to stay longer the size of the room and lack of a proper window would have been an issue and personally I wouldn’t stay there again.

Although you are in the centre La Rambla it is quiet and only a 5 minute walk to Postiguet beach, and 2 minutes from the marina.

The property itself is great. Very central to everything. The rooms are very peaceful and the beds incredibly comfortable, with pillows to die for. The shower was great but the water take a little while to warm up.
Just a tip: If you dont want to be woken up at 10am, make sure you out your do not disturb sign on the door the night before.

We used the hotel as a bridge to another accommodation. We left our previous accommodation at 11 but could not check in until 3:15. We had to rent lockers for our luggage in the interim.
The staff was friendly and our room was big with a king bed. The shower was very nice and I specifically loved the squeezable shampoo dispenser.

The hotel location is fantastic!
Its right in the middle of everything; its 5mins or less from the old town, harbour, the main walk, beach, tram/ buses access.
Loads of restaurants, cafes, etc around and shops.
The hotel is very clean for the rating. Staffs are lovely and helpful apart from 1 lady.
I was there lone, female but felt safe.
Only negative. It is not noisy from the street but you can hear every noise from the other rooms.

It was well positioned for the centre , it was clean and the staff were lovely ,, but the room we were given had a tiny window which looked out to a brick wall , no balcony , no drink making facility , the fridge advertised in the booking was a tiny mini bar type , and the tv was ok if you spoke Spanish ,, only booked for 4 nights and that was enough

Male front desk staff (older fellow / slender man) was very UNFRIENDLY when I asked about my potential VIP room upgrade. He talked to me in a VERY condescending way—“We are busy and we don’t have any room upgrades! Adios!” Even when we checked out — All he said was: “Good bye!” He did not even bother to ask —“How was your stay / room?” The hotel was VERY noisy early in the morning with construction on the 4th floor. Cleaning staff also were shouting at each other so you are waken up early in the morning by the cleaning crew doing their thing on the rooms on the same floor! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL. Worse hotel in Spain EVER!
