I was put in the old tower, which I don't like staying in. I do stay at the Westmark often and always stay in the new tower. The rooms in the old tower are smaller and cramped. This particular room was hot when I arrived. I called the desk and maintenance came up and said that the thermostat was not working. He turned one side of the heat off and said to open the window (the temperature outside was below zero) and keep the air conditioner on (it was too noisy) if it is too hot. I did open the window for short periods.

The size of the room was big enough. No Mountain view from our room. There was no house keeping for our entire 6 nights stay. There was no body wash. We were told by the front desk staff that they did not have enough staff working. We needed to get things that we needed from the front desk.

The exterior walls and hallway carpet were a bit scruffy, but the rooms were very clean with nice comfy pillows and king bed. There is a convenient laundry room on premises, gym and business area with microwaves. Alaska in general has a shortage of workers, so no one was available to clean our room when we requested it but I got by with new fresh towels and requesting more soap and TP. Overall I would still stay here again as it is centrally located and was a good value for the price.

Great location to downtown Fairbanks and pickup for tours. Restaurant breakfast buffet is not good for price. Its more of a limited continental breakfast. Gift shop was closed so no access to needed amenities. Rooms are older and it shows - carpet, showers, heating/air, tv channels. The restaurant/bar staff is amazing, we ate most meals there because were appreciated them so much. The other hotel guests are mixed clientele so it can be loud and chaotic even if in your own room. We didn't sleep well at any point.

The room was ok the soap dish in the shower was dirty and cracked shower suround. Screw coming out of shower curtin rod. The worse pary was the staff. A general feeling of indifference. Most of the staff were better off not dealing with the public. Honey was great and one other girl whos name i do not know. The other women were pretty useless.

The rooms in the South tower are extremely old and worn out. There was mold in the shower. They were also doing work and began early in the morning pounding with hammers. That being said when we asked for a room change ( after requesting a manager) they did move us to a new room. The water pressure in that room was poor and the television NEVER worked! They said the satellite was covered in snow however the maintenance man saod that was not true. My advice, wait until this becomes a Hilton and finishes its changes. The hotel restaurant was good and people were friendly.

Had to pay for parking, which felt like a ripoff because there was no benefit to the parking space and no one recorded what my vehicle was, so they aren't tracking it, just one more extra fee. The ice machine was broken. The TV had only about ten channels. In the morning, after turning on my truck to warm it in -30 weather, the door we walked out of was locked and key wouldn't work. I just felt this was not worth the money.

Bathroom was dirty and had hair. Sagging mattress was a unique experience with my partner being higher that I was. Cherry on pie was clipped nails in the table. So gross. The room was warm when we got in. The third day (thankfully last) heater was not blowing hot air so it was pretty cold. Glad they had portable heaters in closet.

I was assigned a connected room with strangers and they tried to open the door in the middle of the night. Thin walls and you can listen to everything. No microwave on the room and I put the “do not disturb sign” and they still went in. Wont stay there again in the future.

We arrived in Fairbanks around 12:30 a.m. on December 24, 2025 to spend Christmas here. After checking in, the front desk staff told us that because of the extreme cold (around –22°F), we either had to start our car every 4 hours or move it to the parking area and plug in the engine heater. More importantly, the staff warned us that the entrance from the parking lot to the hotel might not be accessible, so in –22°F weather with deep snow, my wife and I had no choice but to carry all our luggage and walk around snow-covered streets just to get back to the hotel’s main entrance, which felt unsafe and unreasonable for guests who had just arrived. When I met the front desk staff again to explain the situation, the only response I got was a simple “sorry,” with no help or solution. After entering the room, I was shocked to find a used tissue with visible blood stains next to the bedside table, which is very hard to accept for a star-rated hotel. The only positive part of our stay was one breakfast staff member, who was patient, responsible, and very warm, and she greeted every guest kindly. One small reminder: if your booking includes breakfast, remember to ask the front desk for breakfast vouchers, as they are not given automatically. I am not sure about other guests’ experiences, but the front desk staff working on the mornings of December 24 and 25 seemed unhappy, sitting at the computer with no expression and slowly handling breakfast vouchers and room key access, which made u

The room is super dated. Smelled funny. Lint and dirt under everything and even a pair of a random persons reading glasses under the chair. Found buggers in the tub, and it looked like a milkshake or something had been spilled on the door of the closet. When we first arrived at the room, the heat was turned all the way up. It had to of been over 80. Called the front desk, they sent maintenance. He popped off the metal paneling on the wall and sure enough our heat was set to the max. He turned it down, and brought a plug in heater just in case it \"got too cold\". Even with it turned down under the panel manually, we had to have the AC that smelled like mildew, on the entire night.
If i coud leave 0 stars I would. It turned a trip to Fairbanks while it was -37, even more miserable. 20/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

The breakfast was just okay tasting. The server was fantastic and was hustling around so much. It was just so pricey. $21.95 for a limited buffet of eggs, potatoes, bacon, coffee, water, bagels and toast. Condiments were peanut butter, strawberry cream cheese, butter, and ketchup. A meal that should be $15 tops unless someone is eating several plates of food.

Rude staff, the TV couldn’t play without taking a minute to freeze then play some more for about a minute (this was the provided tv programming, nothing streaming,) the thermostat was inoperable so no temperature control, the shower plumbing was backwards and very touchy so a minor adjustment would go from cold to scalding hot. Also worth mentioning is that this property is currently undergoing renovations so of the three floors available there were two vending machines both of which were empty. When I asked staff about any bottled water available they said I would have to wait until the breakfast cafe was open.
And finally, an employee came into the room at 8:30 am (I didn’t have the deadbolt locked) and woke me up on “accident”. Then at 10 minutes before checkout time a house keeper was knocking on my door to see if I was going to be checking out.
All in all I did get a bed to sleep in, but most of what you pay for beyond a bed was not functioning.

Will stay here again if i am in Fairbanks. Giving 4 stars and not 5 because hotel doesn't have an airport shuttle ( possibly the only bummer on the trip)

I have a service dog and they put me in a handicap room with rubber like sheets, stains all over the floor, no remote for the tv, it was an adjoining room and I didn’t feel comfortable as I was a woman traveling alone and there was no WiFi that could connect. They moved me to another room, still no WiFi. They told me to go check with the restaurant to get their WiFi information m, which they declined to do saying it was the hotels responsibility. I told them I need to have a non-handicapped room with no adjoining connected room and that I had to have WiFi. They moved me to another room and still no WiFi. I had to speak to the manager and she said that all animals had to be on the first floor. I explained that my dog is a service animal and that I needed to have a room with WiFi. And if there was no WiFi on the first floor that I needed to be on a floor with WiFi regardless of my service dog. They finally put me on the second floor where I was finally able to access WiFi. All of the first floor rooms were in need of a deep cleaning, stains on the carpets, mold in the bathrooms. And if they advertise for WiFi, then it should be accessible on all floors. I got a coke from the vending machine and it was flat with no carbonation at all. I’ve never had such a bad experience in a hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel at all!!! Customer service was poor, rooms dirty, no WiFi.

The desk staff was not friendly, it appeared that employees were not happy to be there.
The restaurant staff was good however, the limited breakfast options and availability and no continental breakfast as indicated the lack of coffee at the hotel was disappointing. They have a gift shop with a coffee bar but it didn’t open until late morning while yea they had coffee maker in the room, it was subpar coffee with powder creamer.
They have refrigerator in the room but no microwave. We did end up buying some instant Starbucks and liquid coffee creamer for our room from the grocery store.
The limited amount of staff on duty was a REAL ISSUE when they had hosted a party for the Local Firefighters with 200 guests and only 1 person was on staff when I went down to the lobby to file a complaint and ask that they contact the guest in the adjacent room that were with the Fire Department party that had a screaming female, cursing at her significant other for leaving her halfway through the event (that was the 1st outburst that woke us all up) followed by slamming doors a few minutes later over and over then when I finally fell back asleep, I was awakened by the party that had now moved to the room adjacent to ours.
There was no security scheduled, only 1 employee in house and he had to call police to handle the situation. Poor management!!!

Nice hotel with many facilities at a good price in a nice area. Room is clean and dining is convenient. Close to shopping and parks. The only thing that is unusual is that they won’t let you check in even it’s only 3 minutes before 3:00pm.
