We ended up having to change rooms as did our friends. Initially our friends changed due to a funny smell in their bathroom. Our room was beautiful and clean but after returning from dinner it smelled terribly of smoke. The staff were very courteous and kind and quickly moved us to another room. We’re not sure if cigarette smoke from outside somehow drifted into the room. The next room was nice but faced the street where stray dogs barked all night and the mattress on the bed was worn and sunk in the middle. We didn’t sleep a wink the first night. The 2nd night the dogs were quieter which helped.

The hotel's ambiance stood out, the traditional haveli architecture was stunning. The staff at the front desk particularly Mohan were exceptional. The room was spacious, we had few minor issues with the storage locker and the bathroom soaps not being refilled. The food at the hotel's restaurant was excellent. We stayed at this hotel from 31/07/25 to 03/08/25 and had a wonderful experience. The ambience and décor are truly amazing…you have to see them in detail to fully appreciate the beauty. The rooms are spacious with a very good shower.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous, and respectful, which made the stay even more comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety, and we chose to have dinner at the hotel as well. The food was delicious, with a traditional style that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Overall, a memorable stay with warm hospitality and excellent service.

The hotel was very clean and had a nice spacious room. The area around the hotel is okay. There are some restaurants but not a ton. Breakfast was difficult here if you want to start early morning as there was no buffet due to not enough guests and restaurant doesn’t open till 7am. Very limited to no breakfast options before 8am in the area as well. Hotel only gives you 2 small bottles of water per day and you have to call each time you want filtered water to the room. Very little to no amenities for what hotel is charging. Room was clean and spacious but that was about it.

We were originally put on the ground floor next to reception in a room that did not match the photos provided. We were woken up early by loud noises from the downstairs kitchen and staff in reception. However, the staff were really friendly and accommodating when we raised this with them and kindly offered to move us into a a much better room.

I recently stayed at Umaid Mahal, a heritage-style hotel that beautifully captures the essence of historic Jaipur. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the hotel's charm and the adorable, heritage-inspired rooms that provided the authentic feel we were looking for.

The staff at Umaid Mahal were incredibly friendly and attentive to our every need. They went above and beyond, from providing bottled water to helping us book cabs for our daily outings and airport transfers, and even assisting with our luggage. Their level of hospitality truly made us feel pampered. They upgraded our room to the larger more beautiful room.

The breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety of delicious food, ensuring we were well-fueled for our adventures each day.

One of the highlights of our stay was the terrace dinner experience. The terrace is beautifully lit with lovely seating arrangements, creating a perfect ambiance. Alongside the delicious food, we enjoyed cultural dance and music performances, topped off with a charming puppet show. Do remember to tip the talented artists!

Umaid Mahal is owned by the same people as Umaid Bhawan, which is the more sophisticated version of this hotel. Guests receive complimentary pickup and drop-off services to Umaid Bhawan. However, we did find the staff at Umaid Bhawan to be a bit snooty, and their terrace dining experience inferior.

Overall, I highly recommend staying at Umaid Mahal for a delightful and authentic Jaipur experience.

Beautiful hotel away from the center, so it is quieter - but also requires a tuk tuk to go everywhere. Beds are either super hard or soft, so be sure to request a room with your preference (I switched after the first night.) Staff were nice enough and became more friendly after a few days. WiFi in rooms was weak and sometimes I had to sit in the hallway. Overall, a decent room, in a beautiful property. You feel like you're in Jaipur, not some generic hotel anywhere in the world. Definitiely a memorable place to stay.

Lovely and Beautiful Hotel

This hotel is, without a doubt, beautiful. there is a sense of quiet tranquility throughout, and the room was large and well-apportioned.

The roof-top restaurant provides an excellent view across parts of the city, the menu is quite good and has a wide range of veg and Non-Veg options.

There are taxis and tuk-tuks outside the hotel that can get you around to the sights with ease.

Only downfall was the changing room for swimming pool (not really indoor) was just a shared toilet not in good condition so did not use. Also one of our friends saw a rat at breakfast!

Fabulous 3 night stay in this beautifully furnished heritage hotel. Attentive staff and good breakfast. A lovely rooftop restaurant for an evening meal. The hotel is a 15 minute tuk-tuk ride to the Pink City and 30 to the Amber Palace. There are plenty of drivers around to help.

This property is rated way too high for it’s actual quality. Front desk staff is not rude but they are also not friendly or helpful. We were greeted by an unsmiling man who welcomed us by saying “Passports and visas” as if he was an overworked immigration official. When we requested help obtain a taxi and help arranging a toor of the city the front desk employees stated that they do not do those services. Air conditioner does not keep the room cool. Subpar level of cleanliness in the hotel itself as well as its restaurant. The restaurant staff was friendly however. Very loud. I almost checked out and went to a different hotel.

We were a group of 8 & had 4 rooms. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The ambiance was something we really enjoyed. The staff were very helpful & friendly and were ready to assist us in any way they could. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious & very clean & comfortable. The buffet breakfast was a spread of delicious food. We ate our dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed everything we ordered. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel & would definitely stay here again. Cheers!

Nice accommodation, but rooms vary greatly in terms of what is offered. We had a booking for two rooms - one was given on a higher floor, the other, initially on the lobby level. Despite the rooms being priced the same, the upper level room was far superior, both in terms of size and condition. After the first night our lobby level room was replaced with one on a higher level which was appreciated.

I booked a premium room and the room is located in basement of the property without any type of natural light coming in the room. If the property had said the premium room is located in basement I would have never booked. Room has smell coming out of the drain and had to call front desk to come and put room freshener in the room which gave temporary relief but the room smelled bad agree 60 minutes. I had booked room with king bed but the room actually has two twin beds side by side joined together with level mismatch. There is also no ironing boardboard in the room . Overall I would never recommend this hotel.

This is one of India’s Heritage Hotels, and it is really unique and beautiful, from the entrance, to the public areas, to the rooms and the restaurants. Beautiful, comfortable furniture and beds. The interior and exterior of this hotel is simply amazing. Gob smacked when we arrived as to just hot stunning the hotel is. The room although a little small was simply beautiful. Very clean and safe area. Only issue would be is that its on the other side of Jaipur so some rickshaw drivers try and play dumb and say they don't know where it is or charge you more. Also, the rickshaw drivers waiting outside the hotel can over charge you also, they know you're coming out of a nice hotel. A certain rickshaw driver (Super Salim) and his friends tend to hang outside and will try and talk you into various tours. Although quite friendly and charming, we felt intimidated by them (me, wife and 3 yr old). And couldn't wait to get rid of them!

The food in the hotel restaurant and the rooftop restaurant itself is very good, good portions although a little but more expensive than the normal but not too much.

We booked a day tour via the hotel to Pushkar. Had an extermely bad experience and ended up getting scammed a lot of money in Pushkar. The tour itself was not what we even imagined. I did complain to the hotel on getting back but the guy at front desk just smiled it off. Not impressed. I wish someone at the hotel had told us of what to expect in Pushkar and what the tour itself would be.

Would stay again at the hotel, but have not had any other memorable experiences at Jaipur otherwise.

Nice hotel. Air con not work initially but they got an engineer out who fixed the problem. Tap did drip in bathroom but could be switched off at the wall. Breakfast had lots of Indian food. You could order eggs but there was no notice to say this.
Overall a very pleasant hotel and I would recommend it.

Basically, you get what you pay for. The hotel was clean and the service was friendly. The walls were paper thin, there was no water pressure, and the mattress was old and lumpy. I was not able to get a good night's sleep. I complained to the staff but all the rooms were equally loud and it sounded like someone was dragging furniture around the whole night.

Absolutely great experience. Very well decorated, clean and maintained hotel. Staff provided excellent service.
Rooftop restaurant with cultural programs (ghumar, kalbalia etc.) had great food. Kids loved it

Would definitely recommend this one.

FOOD POISOING!!!!

We both got food poisoning from eating in their restaurant on the first night. At the end of the stay they admitted liability by not charging for he food, which only amounted to about £10, but insisted on charging for the beer we drank with the meal! Outrageous!! When we complained the senior manager was very rude. Despite our 3 night stay being ruined by 2 days in bed being violently ill, they refused to offer any other discount on the room. It was also very noisy as all the rooms on all floors are around a central open atrium and the floors are marble so you hear every footstep, every suitcase and every chair being moved in the rooms around you. They often leave the external doors open and there are large gaps at the bottom of the bedroom doors, this means the smell of smoke from the street at night can be smelt in the rooms. There is also a Hindu shrine next to the hotel and you can constantly smell the burning jostics. The hotel looks nice but it’s the pits to stay in once you get there. AVOID!!!
