The staff were courteous and friendly during all interactions. The hotel was located on a nice quiet street with amenities within a very short walk. The room was clean and comfortable and the main floor has two lounge areas with a washroom. An elevator will assist in getting your luggage to your floor however the stairs are easily accessible. Close to Bastille area and Metro stations.
Highly recommend staying here.

I absolutely love this hotel — this was our second stay and it was just as wonderful as the first. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the location couldn’t be better with the metro so close, making all of Paris easily accessible. The hotel was extremely accommodating, and I’m already looking forward to returning next year. The only thing missing this time was Patricia, who was away on vacation. If you’re fortunate enough to stay here, don’t miss stopping by Il Seguito for a glass of wine!

It is overall a good hotel in a safe, quiet and convenient location. The staff was always helpful and pleasant to deal with. The air conditioning worked great. The rooms are small, which is fine. The only complaint is the housekeeping, the walls and vents are very dusty and there was sewer gas smell coming from the toilet at nighttime, possibly because there were more guests using the toilets in the building.

A Delightful Discovery

Paris accommodation is always going to be small and expensive, so it's important to find a place that is well-located and makes you feel at home. Hotel Marais de Launay certainly ticks the box, being located on the eastern edge of Le Marais (so easy walking distance to Notre Dame, the Senie, Pompideau and the beautiful streets of Le Marais. There's cafes, restaurants and a Carrefours supermarket nearby and a selection of metro stops. The front desk staff were always friendly. The room was clean and quiet. I was very happy to have made this my home for my week in Paris

We recently stayed at Hôtel Marais de Launay and unfortunately found that it didn’t live up to the high ratings we had seen on Expedia and Google. At $385 CAD per night, we expected a much better experience—especially given other hotel options in the same price range.

While the location is close to a metro station, the immediate surroundings were disappointing. The hotel is nestled among several bike repair garages, giving the area an industrial, cluttered feel. Right next to the hotel, there’s also a tattoo shop that regularly attracted a group of people who loitered on the sidewalk, forcing us to walk around them just to get by.

The rooms were much smaller than pictured online, and the overall space felt more like an old apartment converted into an inn than a proper hotel. The shower was extremely tight—I’m 6'1\" and could barely move inside it.

One of the most frustrating issues was the air conditioning. It wasn’t working during our stay, and despite raising the issue with the staff multiple times, it was never resolved. We were lucky the weather wasn’t too warm, but still had to sleep with the windows open—leading to a lot of street noise and very disturbed sleep.

On the positive side, the concierge staff was friendly and welcoming. But unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort, cleanliness, and value.

In hindsight, we regret choosing this hotel based on inflated online reviews and would not stay here again.

Last minute choice. Stayed in ground floor room which had a bit of a weird layout as entering room had to go down 7 steps to bathroom location then up 3 steps for bedroom. Bed was very comfortable. The shower was one of the best hotel showers - hands down. And I have traveled alot. Was able to leave luggage before and after stay. Great location too with neighborhood cafes and restaurants - very local no tourists!

The staff all treated us wonderfully and we were very happy with the quiet comfort we enjoyed, staying in the back building of the hotel. The only disappointment for me was that there was no valance above our window and the late morning sun was not conducive to sleeping in late.

This small hotel looked good in photos, but was deceptive. We had two rooms here; the double superior rooms, at $200 a night each room. We paid extra for the superior rooms, and the size was decent. I had two requests, to be on a high floor and away from the elevator. I had a fairly decent room on the 5th floor, but my room was immediately located right next to the elevator. The door frame of my room shared the door frame of the elevator. All night long was the sound of the grinding of the elevator, and I barely slept at all. I asked to switch rooms, and there was nothing available for a week.The bathroom was crazy dirty. I was afraid to take a shower, and I never did for 10 days, but used the shower in my friend's bathroom instead. The shower was so nasty I was literally afraid I was going to get foot fungus from the nasty shower. The shower was literally black and growing fuzzy mold where the doors open and close. I complained and they try to clean it twice but it was still black and disgusting after their two attempts to clean it. It would have been easy to clean with a toothbrush, elbow grease and some bleach. I had two kinds of bugs in my bathroom, and they sprayed heavy chemicals, but they persisted. I asked to have a manager speak with me and no one ever made any attempt to contact me. This hotel was a decent location, just off of a busy street, with shops and patisseries nearby. If you want a nice, clean place to lay your head at night,go elsewhere

I've stayed here previously, but on this occasion my room was located right bedside the lift doors...and in the middle of various other bedrooms - the noise level and thin build of the walls gave it a very \"hostel\" like feel. It was very noisy, with doors slamming and the sound of the lift doors.
One member of staff on the front desk seemed very impatient/stressy - not the ideal welcome to a hotel.
Breakfast is nice, but not as good as it used to be.
Location is good, near to the Marais, close to metro stops...and near to La Vache Acrobat - which is a bar restaurant which shouldn't be missed!

We stayed there at Christmas
-time for 4 nights with our 2 children. The room wasn't huge but was laid out nicely so that it did not feel cramped (and it's Paris so the size was probably good). The breakfast was included and was really great. It was in the basement and had a castle like feel, but was also clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and there were no issues at all. Close to the metro and the Bastille - most sites were either walkable or a short train ride away. I would highly recommend staying there!

Very good value for Paris. We had a superior room which was still fairly basic but no complaints. Fridge, kettle. Staff very friendly. Walkable to Bastille and Marais. Easy to get to from CDG airport (RER B to Gare de Nord, then metro to Richard Le Noir then approx 8 minutes walk) Chemin Vert metro station within 5 minutes walk. Some lovely restaurants in the vicinity (we had great oysters at le Centenaire, great meat at Santa Carne) and a little bit further (10 minutes walk) the Marche des Enfants Rouge which has a great atmosphere and has lots of small restaurants in the market (we had Lebanese which was really really good). Would definitely stay there again

The area of the hotel was nice but the room was so small. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. With no ventilation we kept our window open all night and there were many police sirens. Earplugs are a must. The breakfast was great but in a very tiny room. The elevator was claustrophobic so we took the stairs mostly- up 6 floors. Staff was excellent. Perhaps all hotels in Paris have small rooms. This was our first stay in Paris.

The hotel room was nice but small. It was adequate for me and my husband. What we didn’t like was the shower was very small. I’m 5’6 117 lbs and had trouble turning around. But the location was very good. Restaurants are a short walk and so is a grocery store and pharmacy. There is a fantastic Thai restaurant just down the street. It is noisy at night especially if you leave the window open. Overall, it was a nice stay.
