A very nice hotel at the far end of the town in a lovely setting with plenty of parking. It was very quiet when we were there and, indeed, the restaurant was not open (but there were options in town). We booked the room with its own terrace overlooking Montanas Negras. Lovely large room and bathroom with a coffee pod machine and spectacular views from the Terrace. Breakfast was buffet style and adequate but not very imaginative. We got a bargain via Expedia, so good value, and would have given five stars had the restaurant been opened.

This is a great location for Masca (take the bus!), Los Gigantes and Teide national park by car. The hotel is a very attractive building with good parking in nice setting. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is good. Our room was clean and spacious but could perhaps do with a refresh. The ability to get a beer before 6.30pm would be good!

Lovely bedroom, clean and comfortable, decent breakfast (continental mainly) and gorgeous setting. Well placed for local walks, location pretty insignificant and no facilities at hotel to relax or sit outside when weather tricky, which was most days because we encountered bad weather. If you are happy walking every day in any kind of weather this is for you.

On a main route (TF1) at a high elevation but set back so no noise. Very pretty little village with walks and a small number of cafes/bars.
Easy to drive to from airport and easy to access other places from too. Large, clean, traditional styled room and a good breakfast selection.

OK stay in Santiago del Teide

After an excellent 4-night stay in a similarly priced hotel in La Laguna, we found our 3-night stay in La Casona del Patio a step down - dinner was only OK and overly expensive, breakfast was just not as good, the common areas were cold (unheated when in the mid-teens in January), hiking information at the hotel was largely limited to querying a QR code (nearby was the tourist office, but their info was incomplete), and parts (2nd restaurant, hot tub) were closed.

At first glance on a map the hotel looks like it is on a main road and might be noisy or busy. But it is well set back and is set in lovely countryside. This makes it very different to all the endless resort palaces! You’ll need a car but excellent value.

This property is perfect if you are looking for a quiet part of Tenerife. As you drive to different parts of the country you descent through clouds and gorgeous scenery.
The staff were fabulous! So helpful and spoke English well which really helped as i had not brushed up on my Spanish!
The room was gorgeous and very spacious with a lovely view on the mountain heading to Masca Village. Cleaned very well on a daily basis.
There were lots of different hike trails scattered across the town. The only down side was the fact they do not have swimming pool but I would be happy to make that sacrifice again to stay in this wonderful hotel.

Quiet location, fantastic staff

This was our third stay in three years and it never fails to please us. From the very friendly, efficient staff, the large comfortable rooms, superb breakfast selection to the quiet location La Casona del Patio is worth every penny (or euro!). There's plenty of hiking routes straight from the hotel if you don't want to travel too far or don't have a car, and a couple of fairly good restaurants and bars in the village if the hotel food is not to your liking or you want something different. Wifi not too good in the rooms but perfectly OK in the common areas.

This is a really great place, high up the Teide slope, away from the obnoxious crowds down in Los Gigantes and Las Americas. It's a large compound in a rustic setting (there are horse stables here), but with modern finishings and large comfortable rooms with very clean and well equipped bathrooms. The breakfast is quite decent too. I would definitely come back here.

Hotel was excellent, modern design if a bit quirky, in a beautifully setting. Service was excellent some of the best we have had. Food was good with a wide buffet choice. The town Santiago del Teide is a bit limited unless you wish to walk lots or just do very little. So car required to widen horizons or there is a reasonable bus service.

Fantastic!!!

This is our second visit and as with the first it was excellent. With only 20 rooms and situated at the top end of a small village on the way up to the mountains, it is excellent for visiting the island without having to put up with the usual large impersonal hotels catering for the sun worshippers. There are plenty of walks through the hills and mountains straight from the hotel. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and generally speak good English, German, French and of course Spanish. The rooms are generous in size with large clean bathrooms. Daily maid service to make up your bed, clean through the bathroom and provide clean towels when you want them. Tea is available in the room free of charge with the usual mini bar which isn't excessive in price. Breakfast buffet is large and varied with freshly cooked omelettes, eggs, bacon and scrambled eggs, after breakfast we didn't need feeding again until the evening! We ate dinner in the restaurant twice, sadly this is now a buffet, although we were not overly impressed the first night, the second visit was very good.

Fantastic staff, all very friendly and helpful with the majority having a very good degree of English. The rooms and bathrooms are very large and well appointed. Breakfast is plentiful with a large choice of fresh produce. The restaurant was a little hit and miss, a tad disorganised though the staff were all brilliant. The hotel is nice and small (in room numbers not in size!) very quiet. Had an excellent massage, the girl was suitably brutal! We think the only thing really missing is tea and coffee in the rooms.

Short stay in La Casona

The staff were superb, always friendly and helpful. The finish and design of the hotel is modern Spanish colonial and the whole estate reflects its history as a vinery with some lovely old out buildings. Views all around are nice with the mountain Chinyero looking down over the area. Lovely old church adjacent and the town is compact with limited facilities other than bars/cafes/ small supermarket.

We had a problem with a mistake (ours) in our booking which was well and generously handled.

First off: we will absolutely return. Great location, lovely setting and building, clean, central for all that we wanted, having been to Tenerife 4 times by now, this is for our purposes the ideal location.
3 issues that soured our experience:
1) We were there for 7 days and something odd happened to the quality and quantity of breakfast: On our first day we were very happy: abundant fruit, healthy breads, wholesome yogurts and plenty of FRESH croissants, then, morning after morning there was less available (we always arrived at the same time), and the quality went down a notch every morning. We could have sworn that the croissants of our last breakfast were the last remnants from our first breakfast
2) We had booked the spa room 4 days in advance. On the evening of the spa, 2 hours before, we received a phone call from a rather brusque, unapologetic receptionist, informing us, a mistake was made by her colleague and somebody else had booked the spa before us. Sorry, we were out and there was nothing that could be done. We did react very unhappy but she informed us it was not her fault but her colleague's mistakes. Half an hour later she phone back and said, change of plan: we were in again. Very unprofessional!
3) An extra hotel dinner was charged to our room that wasn't ours, as we found out on departure. We had to argue a LOT, even thought the timestamp on the receipt showed clearly we were still on the plane to Tenerife when it was charged. Again: very unprofessional!

Great setting in a small town in mountains. Some distance by car to the sea but good riding and walking. Not the right hotel if you are looking for a pool or a sunbathing area. Good quality food in the restaurant and very good value for money.

Basically we can't fault the hotel: Room great, food delicious, staff good fun and helpful. If you want a hotel that is not part of the metropolis of Southern Tenerife, somewhere that is quiet, good for walking - excellent value for money, this is the hotel for you. We would definitely return!

Winter sunshine break with a difference.

High quality facilities in an excellent and attractive location. Horse riding across hills full of almond trees in blossom was a wonderful bonus. Average temperatures were much lower than down on the coast and warm clothes were needed in January. A fantastic log fire in the evening was a comfort, as well as the dramatic scenery around the hotel.

Nuestra habitación era enorme, sin problema para cuatro personas. Los desayunos no es que fueran demasiado especiales, pero suficientemente variados y con buena calidad. El peor punto fueron las cenas, un poco caras para el producto ofrecido y, aunque el personal hacía todo lo que podía por atender correctamente, parece que andaban un poco cortos de gente y a veces se ralentizaba demasiado el servicio.

Dans un premier temps nous n’avons pas eu la chambre pour laquelle nous avions réservé, on nous a ensuite changé mais toujours pas ce pour quoi nous avions payé. Chambre sombre. Douche dans la chambre sans porte. Mal insonorisé. Pour plus de 170€ c est exagéré !

Nous avons été déçu par plusieurs points indignes d'un hôtel 4 étoiles :
Restaurant accessible uniquement par réservation et choix immédiat des plats, salle hacienda non accessible
Absence verres dans la chambre, de café à disposition, peu de chaînes TV étrangères, insonorisation médiocre entre chambres
Pas de piscine ni d'activités prévues à l'hôtel ( idem en Ville)

La única sugerencia es que un hotel de 4 estrellas notamos debilidad gastronómica en el desayuno. Había que esperar por poca maquinaria y la variedad era muy corta.

Schönes Hotel, leider lieblos, keine 4 Sterne

Schöne Hotelanlage, grosses Zimmer, lieblos eingerichteter Speisesaal mit mittelmäßigem Abendessen und Frühstück, kein richtiger Kaffee und ungenügende Weinkarte. Schade! Mit etwas Engagement könnte hier etwas tolles entstehen... korrekt wären max. 3 Sterne.

Nous avons réservé juste pour une étape d’une nuit mais nous serions bien restés plus longtemps. L’hôtel est très agréable, la chambre et la salle de bain très spacieuses et le personnel très accueillant. Le restaurant est très bon également. tres bonne adresse et très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Hotel sympathique a 45mn du Teide

2 nuits passees dans cet hotel. Accueil sympathique. Petit Dejeuner excellent (il y a meme un extracteur de jus). Situé à 10mn à pied des restaurants de Santiago de l Teide . (Testez El Patio, typique canarien. Attention la cuisine ferme à 20:30).
Animation le deuxieme soir de 45 mn avec un groupe de musique local. Situé à 15mn de masca.

Hôtel tre agréable, grands espaces, la vue de notre chambre donnait sur la montagne mais surtout sur le toit d'un bâtiment à trois mètres, mais au niveau hôtelier tout était très bien
Seul bémol le restaurant de l'hôtel, repas servi avec du pain dur, des pommes de terre à l'eau cuites au moins la veille donc dures, viande pas bonne, bref à éviter

We had a great stay. The hotel itself looks a bit dull on the outside, but the inside and the surrounding areas are really nice. The rooms are nice, modern and quite large. The breakfast buffet was nice, especially the juice station, although a bit understaffed. Don't miss the opportunity to have breakfast outside, with a nice view towards the stables, if the weather allows.
Other people mention the wifi and while it wasn't brilliant, it was ok for those that need it.
