Very busy hotel, long waits for restaurants, many items at breakfast had run out, breakfast had lots of selection but the food was not good quality. Very nice private beach with clean sand and nice chairs. Very strict beach hours and not allowed to swim in water after 6pm. Pools are nice. Very overpriced drinks.

Overall, average resort. Definitely not a 5 star, more like 3 star resort.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the facilities were generally well-maintained, I encountered a couple of issues that impacted my overall experience.

Firstly, the rules surrounding the use of the swimming pool were quite restrictive compared to other hotels in the area. For example, specific hats needed to be worn. Additionally, the requirement to wear a specific type of swim cap felt unnecessary and was not enforced at other nearby hotels.

Secondly, the breakfast buffet left much to be desired, especially for Muslim guests or those with dietary restrictions. The selection was heavily focused on Taiwanese cuisine, with very few options that would appeal to international visitors. There were limited choices for halal food, and the overall variety was lacking, which made breakfast a less enjoyable experience.

While the hotel has its strengths, these issues with the pool rules and breakfast options are areas that could use improvement to better cater to a diverse range of guests.

Very nice but….

Excellent staff - but we were housed in the old area of the resort and the rooms are tired, however the beds were very comfy. Breakfast, the coffee places were all very very good. Pool area is excellent.
The beach area needs some serious maintenance and trash collection. Seems like a lot of inconsistencies between the various areas of the resort.
Also the registration gave one information but later the breakfast restaurant wouldn’t honor the coupons given by registration.
For the grounds in front of the resort there is a lot of plastic waste.

Nothing wrong with this place. It was in a lovely location within walking distance to night market. You need to drive to enter the National Park, unless you are up for a ten km walk. I gave it four stars because it is showing it's age a bit. But it was clean and I would stay there again.

We stayed here 10 years ago and were already disappointed by the room's hygiene. Surprisingly, Chateau Beach Resort didn't disappoint me. The room has a heavy dust layer stuck at the AC ventilation, and I even see mold on the ceiling.

The location is superb but they really need careful renovation.

Hotel with a great view, nice beach, good service, but so so rooms. Views were amazing and has nice pool and lots of toys and beach chairs. Can relax. But when come to the room, they are ok, but nothing compared to a normal Hilton. Overall good stay. The breakfast was decent also. A bit pricey.

Perfect for a solo trip

Awesome beach resort! I stayed here for 5 days on a solo trip and stayed in the lower level, beach view. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good wifi connection and could walk out my back door right to the beach.

The staff was very professional and courteous but it will help if you speak some Mandarin/Taiwanese, as not everyone speaks English. I studied for a year before I went and had Google Translator app on my phone which came in handy. The breakfast was my favorite with western staples; eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast and a great fruit and juice selection. The live music at dinner was very entertaining. If you're a westerner, you're going to be one of the few so other guests will stare at you, but not in a bad way.

Moped rental is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you can park it right beside the guard gate if you keep it overnight. This side of the island has much less traffic, so riding around was a dream! For $20/day and a few bucks gas I explored the entire south side of the island including Kenting Park and Taiwan's southernmost point. I checked out all the other resorts in the area and you have to cross the street to get to the beach, but at Chateau I could walk out of my room barefoot to the sand, was very glad I chose it over the others.

At first, I only had 2 days booked but after the first day, I extended it to 5. It was an amazing vacation and I plan to go back again next year.

Bad Service and bad smelling room!

The serivce was very bad at check in, i was with my family ( my wife and my 2 kids ) , I stopped my car in front of the entrance and ask the staffs there ( they were 5 in total standing there ) if they can help to take my luggages off the car since i need to tale care of my kids...
No one help me and i did get off ny luggage myself.

The room i booked has cigarettes smoke smell and i did ask to change the room and unable to change the room as they were fully booked....

So bad experience that i will definately not suggest anyone to go to this hotel anymore and if i could , i would request full refund!!!

Rude check in counter staff, Refusing to admit having a booking. after 20 minutes of then could finally check in, Room has fire hazard light that can't be turned off - so be prepared for a bright red light glowing from the ceiling all night. Asked for an Ironing board, was presented what i can only assume is a child's toy, 30cm long and 10 cm tall. how are you suppose to use this on a shirt. No room service, no drinks in the room, very limited hotel

Not a best option for foreigner

They are not kind enough to help foreign people. Of course there was no shuttle bus from the hotel, the only bus stop to take a bus to airport was about 20 minutes away. Nobody show us a right direction, nobody tried to help us. There was no other option, We need to bring our heavy lugguages to the bus station in very hot weather. Was really not a good memory. I think they should help their guests about reaching the transportation, not only the domestics but also the foreigners.

This place is one of several resorts in the Kenting area. Last time I was in Kenting was almost 30 years ago and I stayed at one of the other top resorts nearby before this one existed.
It is a very nice hotel, with excellent facilities, very nice rooms and is overstaffed with friendly helpful people. That is all good but it is the location with its own beachfront that makes this place unique and special. Although only a few minutes walk from 7-11 (what isn't in Taiwan?) and Kenting's night life street, Chateau resembles an inclusive resort that feels like a place in Hawaii, Bali or the Philippines. Travelers going to Kenting are often looking for that vibe.
If I go back to Kenting, this is the only place I will consider.

Comfortable hotel with its own stretch of beach and lots of family-oriented facilities such as beach/ water sports options, recreation room, indoor playgrounds and in-house restaurants. 5min walk to the night market. Day tours available for pre-booking at the hotel but note to book by a few days ahead as tours are outsourced. Our older quad room was spacious but could be more brightly lit. Spotted fair bit of mold under the rim of the sink on our last day.

Not quite the luxury stay we’d expected

We stayed for three nights over Christmas (and over 2 bookings). Firstly, the rooms were ok - not as clean as the previous hotel, so was noticeable. The breakfast is ok - not a fabulous selection for non-Taiwan guests, but ok. However, for all meals they charge 10% service - despite the service being slow.

In terms of the ‘fun’ activities - we enjoyed the spa and pools but be warned, there can be lots of children so not terribly relaxing (the spa pool was full of kids in floating. Devices screaming with joy). We booked to do the archery - but the equipment is old and the facilitator/tutor is bored with it (you can tell - no enjoyment or anything- it’s like he drew the short straw!).

On the last day we were locked out of our room at 11.30 (despite checkout at midday) - so be warned - the keys expire beforehand!

Finally - we asked about help to get our luggage to the bus stop to go back to the HSR. The only option was a surly taxi driver who chargered is $150 NTD to take us to a bus stop on the other side of Kenting St - which actually was one stop further than we needed to go! Madness!

All in all it was an ok trip - but for the hype and the price I would have expected more.

The best thing about this hotel is the fact that you can just walk out and within a few minutes you're on the beach. Sleeping to the sound of ocean waves is nice too. We did however have issues with an annoying buzz from our rooms air conditioning unit, and the wifi connectivity was not very reliable. The staff should be more responsive to customer issues and concerns- my family and I were interested in extending our stay, but we had some booking issues. In the end, it took too long for the staff to sort out, and we ended up elsewhere for the additional night. This was a disappointing way to end our stay.

Due to the bad weather had to stay in the room all the time, and the room was tiny, absolutely doesn’t match the expectations for the room with price NTD10,000 per night.
Breakfast and dinner were also just average.
Provided infant bed was too low, so our child caught cold.

Hotel is not suitable for western people. I travelled with my partner. Who is asian. But non-mandarin speaking, rather than check he can speak manderin. Just talk and then walk away before he can respond. As for me, most staff are too scared to speak English.

Didn’t get the room requested. Gave us two single beds and refused to change it do a double bed (the hotel was cleary not full). So obviously not gay friendly, or the staff are just unwilling do what they can to esure comfort for their guests. Food is average at best. Rooms not comfortable. Lack plug sockets, or simple things like towel racks. And who ever designed the door for the shower / bathroom is an idiot. The only 1 good tbing about this place it the private beach. Other than that is was awful.

The mountain view Room was quite small. Please note that There is NO lift, so you have to lug your luggage up. There are 2 separate reception areas due to the length of the property, so check in first then drive your vehicle to the nearest lot at your allocated building/room.

The bed was a bit too soft and uneven. If you sleep on the sides, you will find yourself sliding off.

The children's playground (Chateau Star Paradise) is very clean and great for kids. Tickets are NT$100 for a block of 2-3 hours. Socks are required.

We wish to thank the restaurant staff of the akami restaurant who allowed us to partake breakfast even after the breakfast service hours were over as we had overslept due to the previous day's long drive from taitung. The team leader even got the chef to prepare omelettes for us. Truly grateful for this.

The most misleading hotel website!

This hotel is only set up to cater for local Taiwanese visitors. If you only speak English you will find the experience very frustrating with majority of staff not able to understand the most basic of requests. The beach is very polluted and the sand is dirty even though they make an effort to clean it every day. The biggest dissapointment if the inability to use the water sports facilities which is contrary to what you see on their website. You will not be able to freely use their kayaks, hobbie cats, SUP's or anything in fact. Forget about a swim in the ocean without a pathetic life jacket! I tried to complain to hotel manager but he/she refused to speak to me and did not reply to my emails either. Unless you are a local, I strongly recommend you don't bother the long commute to stay at this hotel. Overall a very frustrating weekend. When I finally got a reply from hotel, all they could do is offer me an upgrade next time visit!!

It is a great combination of quiet oceanfront resort and within walking distance to the night market. The entrance to the National Park is just right next door. We were there in March with fickle weather so did not take advantage of all the available activities, but enjoyed the pools and spa. There are quite a few beautiful pools on the property. I wish we were there in warmer weather. It would be very nice.

Best Resort in Taiwan with Private Beach Access

This is my designated hotel every time I come down to Kenting. It is the only resort with private beach access and although there are a few public beaches nearby, I find the private beach is much better maintained and far less crowded. The rooms are exceptional given that most of the rooms are ocean facing and the ones on the 1st floor even got its own outdoor patio with beachfront access. Simply my best getaway in Taiwan. Though I'd recommend staying during the winter as it gets way too packed in the summer. Be sure to rent a car as the public transit to the resort or simply the local area isn't the best.

Best way to celebrate a birthday!

We travelled from Halifax, Canada to Taiwan and this resort enhanced our the trip. We booked this resort to celebrate a birthday. The staff made the birthday boy feel loved with a cake in the room for him and his friends. They also took extra special care of us knowing we didn't speak Chinese an example was explaining how to operate the t.v. The facilities were clean, modern and inviting for you to relax and enjoy the beach and the town of Kenting. The products in the room were high end from shampoo to beach footwear that rivalled what we brought! The beach activities were fun concidering the raging surf, pool was relaxing with lots of cabanas. Breakfast had a variety of food for the bold pallet and catered to the western diet. Spring scream was a hoot truly a once an a life time experience. The hotel staff was very helpful, going out of there way to provide assistance to ensure that we were able to experience everything that we could on this visit no matter how outlandish.

Beautiful private beach, a great relaxing vacation

Chateau Beach Resort has a beautiful beach access. Plenty of pools for family fun. Both beach and pools are well facilitated. We stayed on the 2nd floor with the ocean view. If you're going with children, the 1st floor rooms on the ocean side have a faucet on the patio to wash off sands right before entering the room.
The buffet style breakfast included with most rooms has extensive choices, both western and Asian. Food quality are great!
Their spa center is on the high level, providing a nice ocean view.
We stayed two nights so we had the concierge get a taxi for a half-day sight-seeing. It wasn't bad, but we figured that if we simply relaxed on the beach reading, it might be even better.
The hotel staff were courteous and helpful.

I wish I had time to enjoy the beach. The room was large. My family of 5 with 1 adult son, 1 teenage son, and a 7 year old were able to fit comfortably in the room with a king and 2 single beds. The breakfast was amazing with Asian and western options. There was made to order omelette. The entrance of the hotel is less than 250 meters from the entrance to the Kenting National Park visitor center.

Fun place on the beach

I stayed at the Chateau with my family in mid March. We took the HSR from Taipei and used their shuttle to the hotel. The shuttle took ~2 hours and they made one stop along the way. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with. Our Mandarin is very limited but they have staff that speaks great English so there we no issues along the way.

The room was nice, if you have the opportunity, definitely ask for a first floor beach side room, each one has a patio area with access straight to the beach. The weather wasn't great when we were there but the ocean swimming was nice none-the-less.

The hotel is less than a five minute walk into town with a great night market. We didn't eat dinners at the hotel, just walked into town and got street food each night. Excellent food and lots of choices.

This is not the place for romance. Too many people and too noisy. It's more for students and teenagers. Sound proof is bad as you can hear your neighbours flushing the toilet. On the good side, the hotel building is nice, room comfortable, large buffet comp breakfast, and a sandy beach (although not good for swimming at this time, due to jellyfish in the area). Biggest problem was the lack of English speakers on staff and English translations of many signs and other written materials, probably because most of the patrons are Chinese or Japanese. I don't think they had any tours of the area available, although I'm not positive because of the language problem. If you're from USA or Europe, can probably find something better.

Impeccable service, great for families, beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was impeccable. Always polite, and always went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Extremely kid friendly with lots of activities for the kids. The hotel is situated right on the beach - literally 20 feet away. They had \"stations\" to wash your feet off at every door. The pool was marvelous. We went when it was raining with high waves, so many water activities on the beach were cancelled. Breakfast and Dinner were included every day. Buffet style, both Western and Asian foods. Every day had a little different food. Still the hotel was so full of things to do we actually never left the hotel grounds during our 3 day stay. We did drive around after we checked out, and noticed that this hotel is really the only resort style hotel that is ON the beach (not across the street from the beach). We will definitely be back again to visit.

Great hotel in non busy season!

We stayed here midweek in mid February. The hotel was renovating the room we had booked, so they upgraded us to a much better room. It was a family size room, first level with a patio on the beach. It was one of the best rooms that I have ever stayed in. It was wonderful to be able to just walk out onto the beach, and hear the ocean at night. The hotel staff was very friendly, but many of them spoke very little English, so my husband ended up explaining what we needed in Chinese. The breakfast buffet was great, with so many choices if you do not need to eat a traditional western style breakfast! We ate dinner one night at the buffet restaurant, and the other two nights we ate at places in the town. They were both good restaurants, and just a short walk from the hotel. The outdoor activities that are available in winter are more limited than when there is better weather. We ended up walking along the beach and touring the area. It was too windy to go sailing or biking.

The hotel was quite a bit noisier when we checked out on Saturday. Many families with small children had arrived for the weekend. The breakfast buffet was also more crowded and many parents were letting their kids run around the room unsupervised while they ate. So if you want a more peaceful, couples atmosphere, maybe it is better not to come on the weekends. I would recommend this hotel for couples who are flexible in their schedules, and can take advantage of times when it is less busy and expensive.

Chateau Beach Resort is a great place

I had a great time at Chateau Beach resort. The ambience was perfect, the room was clean, the buffet breakfast was also lovely, the people were accommodating and could communicate in english. The resort price was a bit high though. Even the place that we stayed in at 2 other places in Taiwan had bathtubs and was more than half the price cheaper. You'll forget about this though once you see the place. i advise getting a sea view room. Too bad we didn't get to swim; it was really cold and windy. Overall, I'd definitely go back to this place :)

Chateau hotel in Kenting - a lovely hotel

Generally the hotel was clean, spacious, friendly & in great location. The large jacuzzi pool was brilliant especially during winter time. The water in the sea & other outdoor pool was too cold, so the jacuzzi was the great play area for my 7 & 9 yrs old kids.

However, improvement can be made on food quality for breakfast.

Will definitely go again, but if the price can be cheaper it would be just perfect!

Wonderful Stay in Chateau Beach Resort

Service was good, people are friendly. Family room was big and clean. Provided entertainment for hotel guest. Was as good as a 5 stars hotel. Recommeded to stay again, scenery was beautiful. Worth staying.

What a great view of the beach!

The only hotel right on the beach in Kenting. Our main floor room looked out on the beautiful beach and the swimming pools. The view was amazing! The beach is quite long, clean and had lovely golden sand. The room wasn't large, but was just fine for the amount of time we spent in it. The tile floor was good for the beach & sand and we had our own little deck The room was clean, and well maintained. Oddly, the sliding doors didn't have a screen, so you couldn't leave it open. The buffet breakfast (included) was very extensive. We felt very safe at the resort and although many of the staff did not speak much English they were very friendly, helpful and considerate. The chinese food restuarant at the hotel was very good, and we enjoyed sailing on the hobie cat with Frances. The only complaints were the noise from the hallways and outside decks and the hot tub wasn't hot.

If you go, the night market was fun, the national park is lovely and the aqauriem up the west coast was fabulous. You should get an international drivers license before you go so you can rent scooters to tour the area. The Warung Didi restuarant in Kenting was very good and the the Ceaser Park Hotel has a nicely protected beach for swimming in Little Cove.

location is good, rooms are comfortable. there are some activities available for both young and old but i didn't try them out so can't comment much on that.
what impresses me most is the service of the staff, most of them displayed above average service.

Hotel Manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome and to help with Orientation of Hotel and local highlights. Staff was friendly and helpfull. Room was nice, clean and well equiped. Can't beat the Ocean view and the sound of the waves from the balcony. Strong recomendation.

海景無敵晚上可以聽海浪聲睡覺。飯店活動不錯，划船體驗很棒。游泳池跟SPA很棒，救生員態度很好，可惜都沒有泳客，救生員比客人多。外出方便。唯一美中不足就是早餐，感覺跟一般傳統飯店相似，不能跟恆春H飯店比，餐點可以很大改進空間。
