Arrived and waited 15 minutes for the front desk staff to show up. Stopped by the desk to request towels and trash service on the second day since our phone in the room didn’t work. No towels arrived.

Do not book through third parties. Book directly to avoid hidden fees. I was charged an additional $250 for Resort Fees, about 8 different Taxes, and a daily donation to the national forest!!!!??? I thought donations were my choice??!!! Other than that the place is ok and in the best location, but I’m too mad to remember anything good to say.

Rip off. By way of tricky name. The real “lodge” is just called “The Lodge”. The use of “grand” is to make it sound better or at least vaguely comparable to the actual, real Lodge.
Apparently the only staff is perhaps an owners daughter forced to work something like 18 hr days. She tried hard but there was no bedding on out beds and here’s the kicker- UTTER FALSE ADVERTISING VERY WELL KNOWN FOR BY A VAIL PROPERTY (remember getting ripped off during Covid for passes now in the thousand plus range where you had to apply in a weird Taylor Swift concert ticket grab kind of scenario just to be able to rightfully ski with your massively expensive ski pass?) so the false advertising is that they sneak around through hotels.com, a somewhat reputable site, and show TWO KING BEDS looking all plush like an AI version, but on arrival you find every unit in what is NOT A HOTEL (in their title, “Hotel and Residences” but a slick timeshare style thing where the “owners” are never there but they hire a mgt company to pawn off nights at their places Airbnb style, with no supplies bedding or any vaguely hotel-like standards, no doorman no concierge and one over worked obviously relative of an owner trying to satisfy a torrent of incoming guests thinking they’re at a hotel.

The “fake second kind bed” depicted in hotels.com photos as plush identical beds is a drab, dilapidated MURPHY BED fold-down, which if you’ve ever tried to sleep in one you well know you might as well sleep on drywall.

Found out while checking in that the Grand Lodge doesn’t allow guests to bring skis into hotel room. Had to leave them in the car because the ski valet wasn’t open when we arrived. Staff was rude when I went into office and asked about amenities. There is a billiards table listed on expedia description that didn’t exist (according to a staff member). Elevator broke the last day. Also, I have been charged a random $67 fee to my card after checking out. Overall experience was poor. Would have rather stayed anywhere else near the base if I knew these would be issues when booking. We were blind sided by many things. Don’t stay here.

The location is good, the pool & hot tub are great (esp for kids), the restaurant is reasonably priced.

The guy at check-in was neither welcoming nor friendly, but gave us the info we needed. The room is dated, but clean. There was a loud fan going in the bathroom that could not be turned off. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant needed to refill just about every salt shaker (hard as rock contents).

Overall, I think the value was good. I would stay there again, but it wasn't AMAZING.

Location was great / there was a group of us; some had their rooms refreshed daily but ours was hit and miss. Our specific unit appeared a bit worn and we assumed several odd furniture pieces with locks must have been the owners. Oddly placed covering up hooks for coats and gloves. Over all the lodge itself was clean appeared to have newer carpets and thr 1 small Resturant had a great breakfast

This was our first time back in several years, and had a baby and toddler. The space/layout was great. A few things in the room were not great, like the broken armchair and the couch that didn’t have connected cushions. It would have been nice to have a full service restaurant, but we just went into the village or to town. There were two false alarm fire alarms also - one while we were sleeping and another in the afternoon. Hopefully just a fluke and not a regular occurrence.

Summer alternative to the town of Crested Butte

We would rather stay in the town but if not possible this is a good alternative. It is often cheaper than the town. It is easier to get to trails and if you are biking it is the area to stay in. The one downside is that there are no restaurants in the area and you have to drive into town and try to find a parking place, which is difficult to do.

This place sucked. There's no A/C and when you open the window to try to cool of the 84 degree room, you have to listen to pool parties and shuttle buses. The bed is 3 feet from the hall door and the doors don't eliminate any sound. We listened to detailed conversations through that door for half the night. It's an odd setup and not really ready for summer guests

Stayed at in Sept 25. Pros- location is convenient, room was clean, bed was very comfy. Cons- hotel was run down vs luxury description. Carpet was beat up, lots of scrapes on walls throughout hotel. Staffing was thin. The restaurant on site never opened, the store in the lobby was closed never opened. I took my dog out at 5 am and there were 2 back packers and there dog sleeping in the lobby next to the fire place. The front desk was closed so no one to watch the lobby. They made a big deal of having the access the code for the back doors but back packers walked in through the front door. The hotel is in need of a remodel as it looks dated. Overall disappointed and wouldn’t stay here again.

The blackout drapes in the room were very stained ugh.
The tub wouldn't drain properly. The exhaust fan in the bathroom wouldn't turn off (no switch working to do this) so it ran all night and blew cold air on self while standing at the bathroom sink. The internet wouldn't work even after several tries and restarting my computer. Over all other than a nice quiet room I wouldn't recommend it.

No refrigerator or microwave in room. King bed gets you just that! A king bed placed in a regular room. They want you to reserve a king suite for fridge and other amenities. High cost to stay here and do lacking in basics!

This property was very clean and well-maintained. The only criticism I would have, would be to have soft closing doors on the exterior entries. The doors would slam all night long and continually wake us up. There are signs posted to be courteous, however when you’re dragging luggage and other things through the door, it’s still slams.

Great room! Was very comfortable and relaxing with excellent amenities. Location was convenient to restaurants and leisure.
