Would highly reccommend this hotel. Was very well pleased on arrival and during the stay.

One minor negetive i would let others know about, is the level of service does decrease when VIP's or weddings party are in attendance. The staff do go out of their way to accomodate, but are stretched at times.

Pool staff were very friendly with friendly chat throughout.

Rooms were not being turned over consistently daily. With towels missing. Rags being left behind and toiletry items not being replenished. With a short call to the concierge this was recitified however did mean a call to them.

Nice rooms and view. Clean and spacious. Pool food was very disappointing, all salads came with only half the ingredients, even after complaining we didn’t get what was on the menu and no explanation or discount. Not enough showers around the pool area so hygiene is a big concern and some staff don’t speak English, so getting help with issues proves difficult. Pool towels are mostly stained and some really, really badly. We would not return.

Dealing with complaints properly should happen

The hotel and facilities are very good, we had an issue with room service taking a very long time. When discussing the issue with the receptionist on check out they were unhelpful with our complaint. The standard response was a small discount on our next trip rather than dealing with the issue. Unlikely to return which is a shame as the rest of the set up is fine

Very nice hotel , room is well organized and comfortable with a wonderful view of the garden and the beach and the presence of the jacuzzi is very special, and to park the car is very fast. But the prices are very high. The place is very very quiet . I enjoyed my stay in tge executive room floor 3. The staff is very nice all of them .

Tranquil luxury break in Bahrain

Just back from a stay at Sofitel Bahrain and honestly, it was excellent. The hotel is in a stunning spot right on the beach with beautiful sea views and a peaceful, private feel. Staff were genuinely warm and attentive—nothing felt forced. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had that subtle luxury feel without being overdone.

The Friday brunch was a real highlight—loads of variety and great atmosphere. Spa is worth a visit too, and the pool area was perfect for a proper switch-off.

All in all, a brilliant mix of comfort, service, and scenery. Highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing break in Bahrain with a touch of class. 🌅👌

The strength of all Sofitel hotels is the staff. Always friendly, courteous and helpful. Room was large and airy, nice little balcony. Club music is played outside all afternoon and I found it a bit intrusive but the families probably enjoyed it. Excellent gym.

My daughter and I agreed to an upgrade to Club Level (at our expense, not free) and were able to enjoy a lovely evening at Club Millesime with an excellent hostess, Angelika. Seriously the best mojitos I’ve ever had! We then enjoyed ladies night at the Greek restaurant, Yemaz, complete with wonderful live music and complimentary wine and shisha. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was exceptional and so relaxing! In the hotel itself, the beds were heavenly and the room was nicely furnished. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be more tv channels in English. Breakfast was great and the service was nice overall. We brought my grandson for a few hours until his father could pick him up, but the kids pool area was drained and closed, so that was a disappointment in an otherwise perfect girls night!

Lovely hotel and great staff, the beach area is small but ok. We really enjoyed the Greek restaurant and the live entertainment and greek dancing. The Indian restaurant looks beautiful , the service was good but the food wasn't great. We'd definitely stay at the Sofitel again.

Team did a great job setting up the room. However on arrival since brunch shares the same lobby as check in the noise is awful as a check in experience. The room is noce however as a suite there are no plugs in the bedroom. No USB ports which is odd. The bathroom amenities for a suite are missing so you have to call and they are visibly the cheapest they could find. No bubble bath availabile so dont ask.

The room as I said was nice, not excellent and i have certainly stayed at better suites. But the team were lovely and did a great job making us feel welcome.

This is a beautiful hotel, and is probably lovely to stay at when it's not a building site. I was told that the club lounge was unavailable due to renovations, but not that whole floors were being remodelled. The construction noise was constant and pervasive.

Inaccurate hotel description

Rooms are of a very good size. Very nice bathroom and in good condition. Unfortunately there were some issues with the booking. Whilst I booked a room for 2 adults and a 5 year old (age was clearly stated) and paid 350£ for bed and breakfast for one night, we were informed when arrived at the hotel that if we require a bed for our child that there will be an extra charge of about 30 quid or if we wanted a free baby cot. Again the room was for 2 adults plus one child and there was only one king size bed. No couch no nothing for a child to sleep. When I contacted hotels.com they told me oh yes you need to pay extra £30 for a childs bed which is so bizarre since the room we booked was for 2 adults and 1 child. In addition, the room didn't have enough towels or enough toiletries to cover the needs of 3 people. Service at the restaurant was outstanding, very attentive. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool and the beach is private and very clean.

Hotel is in a lovely setting on the beach but is masquerading as a 5 star hotel.
We were staying as a family for a winter sun break, whilst we were there the hotel was hosting a big wedding over many days. The noise level from this was completely unacceptable on many occasions (stacks of speakers and very loud music), public areas of the hotel monopolised, set up taking place at night causing sleep disturbance and hotel staff generally prioritising the wedding.
Mattresses on Sun loungers were shabby as were many pool towels. No service at pool bar. Service at Breakfast very hit and miss.
Friday brunch also very loud, disturbing attempts at relaxing by the pool. Really feels like the hotel prioritises making money over guest satisfaction.
Club Millesime was good, great service from Hanna and Michelle.

We stay at this hotel every October. This year we noticed a big difference and not in a good way. Every day we had to ask for towels as they’d clean the room and then not leave any towels. We’d then be given 2 towels for 4 of us! Not a major issue but inconvenient having to constantly ask and wait for them to be brought to us. Also, things in the room didn’t work (hair dryer and shaving socket).

There was a wedding during our stay, again this isn’t a problem as it quite nice watching what’s going on but the set up took away a section of the pool area and the DJ and music were ridiculously loud, not very relaxing for guests who weren’t part of the wedding.

It won’t put us off staying again as we love the area but the standards do need to be improved.

We stayed at SOFITEL as a family and we unfortunately experienced several hiccups:
-We had clearly booked a room for 4 people, yet the room did not have enough beds to accommodate us all. We were given a cot, which was barely fit for our 2 year old, and we were CLEARLY told by the hotel staff, that they expect us to accommodate our 5 year old in our bed in a rude manner. With no efforts whatsoever in making a bed available for him.
-We were told we were upgraded, yet the room simply matched our booking.
-The lifeguards by the kids' pool were constantly using their phones and wearing earphones, raising great concerns for our kids' safety.
-We asked for beach towels, which came about an hour late. This made it quite inconvenient for us to make sure our kids were not freezing when they came out of water.
-Inside the room, the light on top of the toilet mirror loosened and fell on my wife's head. We called the reception, they sent a technician to fix it, who also left the toilet in great mess afterwards.
-On a peak, Eid break, the resort had chosen to use very toxic paint to paint and maintain the roads leading to the pools.
-Worst part of all was, upon checkout we discussed all our concerns with the Guest Relations officer on April 27th, whose simple answer was to us: I am not aware of all this, and I will have to investigate.
It is quite sad that the resort's beauty does not match its terrible service, and that we truly did not get value for our money.

I was highly disappointed as the quality of the hotel was not what I expect of a Sofitel brand. The reception staff was very lovely but the rest not so much. The room I checked into had a dirty tub (hair, rust stains, dirt rig on tub). The staff took over one hour to arrange for another \"upgraded room\" to only give me a room that was not ready, with a significantly smaller patio, and a not so equivalent view. This \"upgrade\" was more like a downgrade. I was placed into my old room and settled on having the maids come clean. To my surprise when they ran the water brown rusted water came out. I was disgusted and needless to say I did not take a bath. This process caused me a 2 hr delay making me significantly late to a concert I was attending in the area. With food service, I had not-so-stellar service. In one order my food was cold, second order requested no mayo (because in Bahrain they put mayo on everything) my BBQ burger came back plain with no BBQ sauce! Next morning I ordered the anti-aging breakfast among other items. Welp I got no anti-aging breakfast but sure did get the bill. At this point, I was over it, and continued with my spa appointment which was superb! After my spa appointment, I wanted to check out as soon as possible and return home. Unfortunately, it took about one hour for them to correct my bill and refund me for the breakfast I did not receive. Also, my room had some visible wear and tear. In summary, keep the spa, but throw the hotel away!

I had to show that I was vaccinated and then allowed to be in any area of the hotel. The pool, the water playground and the beach were all in excellent condition.
I have stayed here many times and there is always a problem with what I sign up for online and what I get at the hotel. So, I have learned to check every detail. I Asked for an extra bed which costs extra and then I have to ask for the bed three times before I can get it. This time we were put in an smoking room and I was not happy. I did not ask to move as we were already unpacked. I know when I booked online I always request non-smoking. So, again I just know to call ahead of time and make sure all these details are in place before I go. My children had a wonderful time.

Not what i expected from a 5 star hotel

The bathtub and bathrobe were amazing. The hotel is well situated and makes you feel like you are truely away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Checkin and checkout were good. There were, however, overwhelming cons that made my trip unenjoyable. The bed was not very comfortable. It was the matress and pillows which don't match the level of quality expected in a 5 star hotel. No bed skirt? The room was dusty upon checkin. Rusted trash bin. The rooms seem to be dated and many fixtures are worn. There was a creature, lizard in my room. Room service was poor. I had to call multiple times requesting service. There was no hair dryer in the room (upon request) i have to call multiple times to get that delivered. Walking around the property there was a dead bug and mask in the corridors. At the buffet, a chef was speaking to colleagues not wearing q mask near food. Food servers were wearing filthy uniforms. At the beach there were no towels and i had to wait 1 hour for a clean towel. It really did not live up to the standard i expected from Sofitel.

*The Friday brunch was extremely messy and we waited over 30 min just to get some service. The food quality was sub-par to previous Sofitel brunches (and even price increased) so not worth it.
*The waiters were confused and overwhelmed. Lack of training or proper onboarding.
*The service in the pool area was super slow and understaffed
* In the amenities, they lack coordination. We tried for over one hour to get the jet ski aquatic sports with my daughter, the poor coordination and rudeness of the staff, left us without being able to do it and being overridden by other guests.

We were overall satisfied with our stay but would like to highlight a couple of things.

1. The pool was very cold (for being a heated pool)

2. Dinner timings should be better considering families with kids. Conflicting timings from various staff members.

3. The cleaning of the kids play area (sand) should happen before 06.00 since there are families with small kids that are up very early.

4. Female toilet near the main shipping pool was very smelly. Think that something needs to be done with the sewage collection.

5. Reported some safety upgrade with one of the machine at the play area. Fantastic response from the hotel. Good if a better inspection could happen.

6. Fantastic service before arrival by Carlos since we had to change the dates. Also good assistance from hotels.com especially John.

Great hotel that i and my family like every time we come to Baharain but unfortunately and due to COVID-19 restrictions most of the main amenities are closed. Kids club was closed so very disappointed aspect for them. Breakfast is in the room so it removes that excitement for the kids to wake up and go the restaurant for a nice breakfast. Besides this understandable things always great place to stay and hopping all this situation comes to an end so we can enjoy the full amenities of the hotel.

Great hotel, entertainment needs improvement

Stayed here for 4 nights in a suite with lounge access. The room was lovely - great style and very spacious. Hotel was clean and Covid safe, staff were attentive, and the lounge was great with complimentary food and a full drinks menu from 1730 to1930. Our room boy on our final day (Salah) did us a special room display that was excellent. Facilities and restaurants are good if rather expensive given the captive audience with the location of the hotel. The curry by Javed in Rivaaj (waited by Mukesh) was excellent, as was the sushi. The beach front and facilities outside are very nice. The downside to this hotel is elements of the entertainment, which in general are extremely loud. This was not just confined to New Year events, as it was evident throughout the stay, and we were not the only guests to comment. We like music, but when the entertainment is on, it is too loud to have a conversation even across your own table if you sit a reasonable distance away, which would be fine if there were breaks between songs, but it is continuous for the duration of the set. In some locations the entertainment from one experience bleeds into other. For example, the entertainment from the tapas restaurant can be heard upstairs in the sushi bar and is not in keeping with the atmosphere. There currently appears to be a single act that services everything. The hotel needs to get more types of entertainment, tone down the volume a bit, and make sure that experiences are separated properly.

The service was good and the staff are always helpful. The food was awesome and cannot complain. The condition of the hotel is okay. We’ve paid more than what the room is worth.

Looking forward to returning when restrictions are

An excellent hotel with very efficient staff. The rooms were immaculate and the beach was beautiful. We had a great time and will look forward to returning once all the Covid restrictions are lifted. However it is quite expensive for drinks....

Darmender best manager ever

Darmender was/is the best food service manager I have ever encountered. Treated me like a father. I couldn’t be more please with the entire staff but I would return to this hotel just based on Darmender’s kindness and care

Too much noise by the music all day in all days. The receptionist and I cannot even hear each other because of the very high-volume music. I suggested to them to have music in a room/club hall as many hotels around the world do.

Room is not clean at all. There is dust on the head of the bed. Some of the pillow cases have dirt spots. In general , cleanliness is not accepted.

The room was ok, but it smelled becaus of the smoker before us. Even in the balcony there was marks of the black ashes in the wall.
The kids splash area was not working for the days we were there. They fixed it when were checking out day.
After complaining they gave us a late checkout. So my kids get to enjoy the fresh water splash because they don’t like the sea salty water. The pool was over crowded with other kids and parents. Literally no space.

The admin gave us free one dinner. It was horrible and I found a spoon submerged in the salad dressing. God knows what hands touched it and it went in contaminated that bowl. I have a video of it, and the chef didn’t like it when I filmed everything but there was no apology from anyone. Everyone acted that I was exaggerating.

The food tasted bad. Not just ok, it was bad. I wouldn’t hire that chef as a cook.

المكان لابأس فيه من ناحية الهدوء، لكن يفتقر للإدارة والمراقبه.
الأكل من اسواء ما أكلت،. واوسخ ما شفت. لقيت ملعقه داخل صلصة السلطه. وبلا اعتذار من اي ممن كلمت. فعلا اداره سيئه.

One of our best stays in Bahrain! nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels but the service here was exceptional! Attention to detail, thoughtful, kindness was amazing! We Will definitely return, do not hesitate to stay here the hotel and quality of the food, staff and overall setting was superb.. brunch and tapas too

Wonderful Stay

Even though my family and I stayed for 3 nights, I can say that this hotel has to be one of favorites that I've stayed in. Once you enter the lobby, you're greeted with hospitality. The room had a clear view of both the main pool and beach. Breakfast and dinner had all types of cuisines ranging from Italian to traditional Arabic meals. Facilities like the gym and spa were open for 24 hours so that it fits your taste. Last but not least, special thanks to bolbol for his delicious Arabic coffee. And I must add that both check in and check out procedures were were very fast and efficient all thanks to Essam.
