The hotel was very nice.We stayed with two babies and felt safe and welcome .Even we arrrived at 2 am we were welcomed with a warn smile . Room was big and having 4 beds was a blessing . The breakfast and late checkout were also a blessing . We had the softest and fluffiest croassants one can imagine . In the morning I took my babies out for a stroll and I enjoyed the nice fresh air .We will definitely come back . At departure Sebastian made sure I had a coffee for the road . The stuff is wonderful and pays extreme attention to the needs of the guests.

To be fair, the hotel was clean and well maintained. Air con worked well which was good as it was very hot when we visited.

Feel as though property was mis-sold to a degree as there is NO POOL available to use. This was one of the reasons for booking it in the first place. We were advised to use pool facilities in Avellino a few miles away. If there’s no access to a pool, why even mention it and/or put photos of one on the Expedia page? A bit misleading.

Restaurant on site doesn’t open until 7.30pm so as we had kids, we had to travel to nearby Avellino in search of an earlier meal. Breakfast was available but not ‘to order’ as described on Expedia. It was limited to cake. Cereal available but bowls and milk not available.

Slightly older member of staff (a gentleman) kept speaking to us in Italian and we made no secret of the fact we couldn’t speak a word. Yet he continued to talk AT US rather than TO US in Italian which became a bit bothersome as he would do it at every opportunity leaving us not knowing what he wanted or what he was saying. It ended up with us having to dash quickly to and from the lift past reception, avoiding eye contact on the way.

Lastly, don’t expect a restful night as the local dogs sleep during the day and spent ALL NIGHT (not even joking) barking to one another and even intermittent group howling in an effort to see who has the loudest vocal chords.

Dont pay for a room with a spa

The room was described as having it's own spa which we paid extra for, when we got to the hotel it turned out that we only had a basic room and 'spa access'

This turned out to be a jacuzzi and steam shower in another one of the rooms which was all very strange and considering we'd paid an additional 35 euros over the standard price we'd felt like we'd been ripped of somewhat.

I had a four day stay booked at his hotel and left after two nights. The walls are so thin in these rooms, I could hear every whisper in the room next to me. They were nice enough people at the front desk, but the hotel rooms are cold and loud. Another thing was a construction crew worked till about 10:30 at night with power tools hammering away.

We chose this hotel based on price and reviews and were not disappointed. Great value for money, large, clean and comfortable room with small balcony, good breakfast. Just don't rely on GPS to find it, we ended up a dirt track - when we did get directions from the town, we didn't see the sign to the hotel and ended going up the road to the Sanctuary - the hotel is at the bottom of this road, before you go up the bends. It is on the corner of Via Lungara Ponticelli and Via Cerreto. Would highly recommend a stay here, very happy with our choice as a stopover on our way south. Some of the staff don't speak much English but that was not a problem. Visit to the Sanctuary was a bonus too.

We paid for this hotel several months in advance, only to be told when we arrived that they were \"overbooked\". They sent us to another local hotel which they said was \"just as good\". The other hotel was under renovation! Since this is not a review for the other hotel, I won't comment on it any further. For Royal Hotel Montevergine, I give a poor rating to them for not even letting me see the room I had paid for.

Authentic Italian Hotel

A very friendly hotel that quickly responded to requests. Our 2nd floor room had a great view of the valley below, was well maintained and always clean. We felt that the restaurant, especially dinner was the star feature (try the pasta w/basil sauce)for this hotel. The wait staff was also outstanding. Breakfast was simple but adequate and served rather than buffet style. There is a small town within walking distance with limited services. You will need a car to get around. Parking and Wi-Fi are included in the price.

the hotel was lovely, we had a large room (after being moved from a smaller one. the staff went the extra mile, even coming to escort us to the hotel (when we got lost) due to our error not the hotels.the food was yum and at a good price. all in all I would stay again.

This hotel offered the convenience most travellers expects to experience. At a very reasonable price, it offers secure parking, wi-fi in the room and excellent breakfast included. It is also the gateway towards the beautiful Basilica of Montevergine up in the mountain about 10 kms of zigzag road. We are most impressed by the assistance we got from the hotel staffs especially Mr. Sebastian when we had a problem with our car. He went out of his way to find the help we needed to get out of our predicament. He assured us to stay calm especially my wife who was so worried this would ruin our vacation. True to his word, he got a good friend who had the ingenuity to dig us out of the problem. Most important, his friend refuse to accept any compensation for our trouble, a true Italian Samaritan. For this, we are able to move on and enjoyed our vacation. We would like to express our appreciation also to his staff Mary for interpreting. We highly recommend this hotel to all the future travellers or vacationers.

Warm and accommodating hosts

Spectacular, five star service from the warm and accommodating staff. The staff greeted us with complimentary aperitif on our check in, carried our bags for us and refused our tip. We were visiting for our honeymoon and when the hosts heard this, they brought us a complimentary bottle of wine. We visited in the low season so the hotel was not crowded, so your mileage may vary on the attention of the staff in high season...regardless, we had a great time. The decor was a bit sparse, but the room size was generous and we had a lovely and spacious balcony with a wonderful view. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel and were very pleased with the quality and value of the food, including dishes prepared with locally foraged mushrooms.

Wir als deutsche wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt. Trotz Sprachbarriere ( wir sprechen nur deutsch) war es für das Personal kein Problem. Das Hotel liegt in den Bergen, daher sehr ruhig gelegen. Mit dem Auto kamen wir überall innerhalb einer Stunde ans Meer, nach Pompeji, ins Zentrum Neapel und zum Flughafen.
Das Frühstück war ausreichend, Personal war immer sehr nett und auch die anderen Gäste waren sehr freundlich. Haustiere sind auch willkommen. Für Leute, die die Natur lieben und auch gerne wandern ist dieses Hotel sehr gut geeignet.
Vielen lieben Dank an das Personal. Wir haben uns sehr heimisch gefühlt.

Un hôtel aux services limités.
L'annonce annonce une piscine, mais malheureusement il n'y en a pas.
Les photos sont très anciennes comparées à la réalité.
Le grand problème est que les personnels de la réception ne parle qu'italien, ce qui rend les communication très difficiles.
L'hôtel est idéalement situé avec une vue magnifique. Le prix est un peu élevé par rapport à la qualité.

Ero già stato in questo hotel parecchi anni fà con amici quando abbiamo fatto visita al Santuario della Madonna di Montevergine e abbiamo anche fatto una ricca raccolta di castagne infatti la zona è immersa nei castagneti. In ogni modo la struttura è rimasta alquanto \" vintage \" ed è molto
da migliorare.
