The property was beautiful. Wonderful lobby and excellent room. Wonderful views of Vesuvius. The grounds have numerous orange trees and we got fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast. We did not utilize the pool or spa and spent our days seeing the ruins of Herculaneum, Oplontis, Villa San Marco, and Villa San Ariana. Wee hadd seen Pompeii before. We also travelled to Naples and saw the docks, saw the Duomo, and saw the amazing MANN (MUSEO ARCHEALOGICA NATIONALE NAPLES`0.

Quality of food at breakfast was fine by international standards, but far below what to expect in Italy. In seven days no variety at all, always the same average quality food, extras on menu (fresh squeezed orange juice for example) very expensive. Fruit out of a fridge instead of fresh daily, fruit juices heavily watered down and sugary. The desserts were good.

This hotel is beautiful and luxurious, however what made the stay so enjoyable is the quality of the staff. They were all very helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. Great base for exploring Pompeii, Naples city and also Sorrento/Amalfi but you also have the peace of being outside the busy centre of Naples. 9.5/10.

Hotel Medusa is a beautiful property with lush grounds full of greenery and vegetation, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast is unforgettable, with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples and the Vesuvius volcano. While the hotel shows some signs of age, the friendly staff works really hard to deliver an outstanding experience, and their excellent service more than compensates. A truly memorable stay!

Luxury hotel in tranquil surroundings

Amazing hotel in a tranquil environment. One of the best hotels we stayed in with such a clean facilities, very well maintained gardens and amazing rooftop breakfast. The staff from shuttle driver to reception to cleaning ladies to pool guy, I can't thank everyone enough. The hotel shuttle (small fee) makes it so much easier to travel in different directions and we knew it beforehand but this hotel give you so much additional luxury compared to silly prices of hotels in Sorrento and you can get to Sorrento area within 20-25 minutes. If you are looking for a city centre facilities hotel then definitely this is not for you. We booked it to get a peaceful luxury holidays and it ticked every single box. If you don't mind using shuttle etc then without hesitation go ahead and book your stay. We will definitely stay again next time in the area.

From the minute we walked in to the time we left, the service was the absolute best! We cannot say enough good things about the staff!
They went above and beyond to make us feel special!
Special thanks to Gennaro who acknowledged our anniversary both at breakfast and at dinner. He is very attentive and always ensured we had everything we needed.
His team did the same and the front desk team was always willing to assist. They were very accommodating They even had breakfast for us to take with us on the morning we were leaving, as the kitchen would be closed at 6am!

The property was absolutely stunning. So many areas to walk around and lots of seating and lush greenery everywhere!
La Medusa is a definite must!
It’s located close to Sorrento, Pompei, with easy access to go to the Amalfi Coast, Positano and Capri!

We will not hesitate to recommend this first class hotel and would love to stay again!

Beautiful rooms, hotel and landscape. Staff were very nice and helpful. Shuttle was offered to train station and near marina for ferry or to visit Castellemare di Stabia along ocean when requested. They also helped us with taxi to places further away or during non shuttle times. Had a great restaurant and accommodated our teens at dinner with lunch menu items. Would definitely stay here again!

This is an outstanding hotel nestled in the hills with outstanding views. The staff are all friendly, welcoming and cannot do enough to help you. We stayed for 5 nights and genuinely did not want to leave. We were made to feel at home at all times and the rooms were very nice and very comfortable. All this said, with such a beautiful property it was the staff throughout that made our stay so memorable and enjoyable. I do hope that the owners appreciate what a great team they have. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Attentive, Friendly staff and outstanding service is just touching on the experience we had at this hotel for our short break. The hotel was clean well presented and although 10 mins drive from the centre the quietness was refreshing. Our room overlooking Vesuvius the bay and gardens of the hotel. Not the biggest of rooms that we have stayed in but ample room for us. Excellent facilities, bathrobes and slippers at your disposal. Mini bar however this was not fully stocked and I had to ensure that we were not charged for the missing items. The bed of excellent size plenty of room and very comfortable. Plenty of pillows and cushions. TV with English channels. The spa and beauty.studio, offers a range of services, I partook in a massage, organised beforehand. Everyone spoke English some better than others but their English much better than my Italian . Spa a little expensive, however you need to treat yourself once in while. The friendly reception staff impressed us by the greeting recived on our arrival. We have stayed in many hotels and this was the 1st time we had experienced such a welcome. Throughout our stay the staff did not waver on their attentiveness and assistance organised excursions and taxis. Nothing was too much trouble. The inclusive breakfast well presented, plentiful selection and although they state it is continental, hot selection is also available. Fresh local produce delishious. I would definitely recommend this hotel it made our visit.

I wanted to share feedback about our recent stay at La Medusa Dimora di Charme. The patio with Sorrento lemons and oranges was fantastic, and the team made our experience exceptional.
Anna and Genaro welcomed us warmly, handling our luggage and check-in efficiently while we relaxed at the bar. Luigi provided a refreshing welcome drink and attended to our needs with local brand suggestions. At the restaurant, Genaro explained everything expertly, and Milena, our sommelier, offered knowledgeable wine choices.
Anna made excellent recommendations and reservations for our celebrations outside the hotel, staying in direct contact to ensure we enjoyed wonderful places for dinner, drinks, and music.
The staff made our stay unforgettable, especially Genaro, who pampered us during dinner and breakfast. He remembered our friend's birthday, serving Prosecco with strawberries and surprising her with a cake.
We are grateful for their efforts and express our heartfelt appreciation. Thank you, Genaro, Anna, Milena, Luigi (Bar), and Luigi (restaurant) for a memorable stay!

Hotel property is beautiful! Staff is excellent! True luxury hotel. The white decor is very pleasing and makes everything that much more luxurious. Breakfast room is beautiful with amazing views of Mt. Vesuvius and other mountains.

The only drawback to this hotel is that is far from Sorrento. Taxis are expensive to get to Sorrento as it is over45 minutes away, It is very close to Pompeii though.

The most amazing hotel crew I’ve ever encounter

Our stay was wonderful, the staff is so professional and friendly that you feel right at home. Starting with Ana at the reception desk, she made sure that we had reservations for all the places we wanted to go.
Genaro, Milena and Luigi treated us like royalty for breakfast and dinner and the other Luigi at the bar prepared the most delicious cocktails.
We were a group of 3 couples and the whole crew at Medusa made our stay a memorable one, we definitely will go back and if you want to be pampered you should stay there too.

This hotel was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Italy bar none. It was an Oasis far enough from Sorrento to be quiet and close enough to be convenient. The facility is absolutely stunning, great decor, furniture, and landscape. The staff is incredibly helpful and warm. From the reception to the people at the restaurant, particularly Genaro, the maitre di, who took care of us at night, were top notch. The restaurant has almost 360 views of the sea and the Vesubio, a gorgeous setting with wonderful specialty food. The breakfast is very generous and complete with a great variety of high quality options. I would come back to the area JUST to stay a few more days at this hotel. Congratulations to all the staff. Highly recommend that you don't miss this jewel!

Excellent stay at this lovely hotel. Staff were amazing, really attentive and courteous. Breakfast had great choice and we enjoyed a great Vesuvius view from the veranda each morning. Pool was clean and lovely, not heated (which we knew) but we still enjoyed swimming after sightseeing.

Lovely hotel with a real family feel to it. The service was excellent and the hotel spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was included in the cost and was a high standard. We ate in the restaurant once for lunch and once for dinner and that was also very good.
The only downside was the location. You definitely need a car and there weren’t many good restaurants in the immediate vacinity.
I’d highly recommend for couples or families with older children.

Nice hotel BUT unfortunately I must share an incident that happened to us as well as another guest during our stay:

The hotel seems to be a popular venue for events: weddings, birthdays, etc. which means the parking lot gets pretty crowded. The second night there was a big wedding, we gave our car to the valet as there was no place to park. He received our rental car, checked it, the car key tag detailing damage was left blank as it should have been. Then the next day, two cars had damage, ours at 2 different places (door and bumper) and another guest (side mirror) who got VERY upset and made a big scene.

We on the other hand said that we understand this things happen, please check the surveillance video. End of the story, the manager told me that there was nothing they could do, they have the tags but don't really use them, the video showed nothing wrong (but could not show me the video).

So I was left with a rental car damaged in 2 places. Last thing I said, was to al least give me a credit or discount in F&B bill to make up for the costs I was going to incurr on the rental. Said no.

Platinum Member on Expedia for many years now, first time I've had to leave a really bad review for a hotel, which given the way that they handle a problem, should not be in the VIP list or the SLH list.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service and hospitality, breakfast was amazing. Only problem is it’s a bit far from Sorrento and other sightseeings and there’s nothing to do in that town. They provide shuttle to the train station and it takes about 20 mins to get to Sorrento which is not bad. Ask about what hours the hotel shuttle is free because they will charge a fee at the end which no one mentioned on the first day.

Loved - hotel grounds, setting, decadence and quality of hotel. True place to relax and be pampered. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly and food was perfection. Nothing too much trouble. Rooms were beautiful and view from breakfast was out of this world. Just amazing.

Negatives - the location was not quite where we wanted to be. Castlemmare Di Sabia is in the middle of pompei and sorrento. Great for hiking, cable car and trips in and around pompei but for us too far out from the evening entertainment of Sorrento. We spent a lot of time in taxis and trains to and from Sorrento for the nicer places to
Dine and enjoy the atmosphere. Castlemmare is a bit of a dive compared!

Glad we experienced the hotel as pure luxury and I know that if it was in sorrento it would be x3 more expensive per night!

If we were to return I’d do two
Nights here and 2 nights in sorrento

We walked from train station and it was little complicated because the direct road was closed, but they offered a shuttle from the train station to avoid this, I will recommend it definitely to take instead of walking.

A beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds with breath taking views
Food on site was fantastic and the staff could t have been more helpful and attentive.
Our waiter Vincenzo and Stephan, the pool attendant were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.
The reception desk arranged the free shuttle for us on a number of occasions and when it wasn’t available arrange us cabs. This was all easily organised through whats app.
We couldn’t fault the hotel and would definitely return but it is a shame that the local area doesn’t have more around. It is an ideal hotel to spend a few days relaxing or maybe as a base if you hire your own car. There are limited places to eat if you want to go outside

The hotel was very beautiful and the staff were excellent. Very clean hotel with a nice room. The only thing that I would have liked to seen would be a more of a complete breakfast. The breakfast was very limited but the staff did their best to make up for it. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel.

The food, service, staff and amenities are excellent. It is a beautiful oasis so travel from here can be pricey - so either hire a car for touring or make some of the journey from the local train station to which there is a courtesy shuttle.

The property was amazing. This boutique hidden gem was a five star property. The spa was a welcome day of r and r. with amazing offerings. The breakfast buffet was overlooking a beautiful view and delicious. The lunch and dinner options were delicious and worth relaxing in the beautiful gardens. The rooms were beautiful. For us it was a good location. A van ride to the train to visit all the sites ..sorrento, amalfi, Pompeii. We stopped in different villages off the “tourist track” and loved all the small local places we visited. But the highlight of this hotel was the staff. This staff was amazing lead by Sara. They could not be any more helpful. In a time of so so customer service, I was beyond impressed with the maid service, restaurant staff, front desk, spa everyone. Please note, might be a little of the beaten track but we felt 100% worth it. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to offer day trips to some of the sites guests might want to visit.

The property is absolutely gorgeous, with an excellent staff- we never left once checking in. The hotel features beautiful gardens with lots of comfortable seating, an outdoor restaurant, bar, pool, and spa. We enjoyed multiple services at the spa, lounged by the large and extremely clean pool, and really felt like we had a first class experience.

We expected more for a 4 star hotel. The hotel grounds and garden is stunning. However the pool and spa was disappointing as access to the spa was an additional cost of 45 euros. The steam room was out of service and being repaired during my treatment. The pool area was unclean, unstaffed and parasol was broken. Breakfast options was limited and repetitive. We expected more for a 4 star hotel and was incredibly underwhelmed.

This hotel is amazing in every way (and please trust me on this - I am quite a tough critic…). I booked this hotel based on the great reviews I read online and they were right on. I will start with the location- it’s a bit away from the center of the town which is actually a good thing because it is quiet and serene and has the feel of a country villa. The location is also perfect for touring the entire Amalfi coast, including Naples and Pompei. The hotel and its grounds are is beautiful - it has a gorgeous huge garden where you can just find a corner to relax and enjoy the scenery (there is a bar there as well). The pool is really nice too - better than you would find in many 5 star hotels. Breakfast is great - you can get a really good cappuccino and fresh squeezed orange juice and the pastries are to die for (don’t skip the lemon Caprese cake). One of the highlights is the hotel restaurant - the food is amazing and the ambiance on the terrace is divine. To top it all off, the thing that truly sets this hotel apart is the service - it is truly remarkable. Everyone is super friendly and helpful in every possible way. Special call outs go Domenico at reception and to Gennaro and Mariano at the restaurant who made my stay so much more special. In short - this place is a must if you are visiting Southern Italy - don’t miss out!

This property was absolutely wonderful, the staff were very helpful and friendly. They assisted with taxi services and train schedules. The restaurant was excellent, and their staff were very attentive!
The pool is delightful!
The only downside to staying in this location was the cost of transportation to Sorento and Amalfi coasts. However we knew this prior to booking .
I would highly recommend this property!!

Amazing hotel, should be 5*!

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel and would happily go back time and time again. We honestly couldn't find a thing to fault - the staff were so accommodating and willing to help with any enquiry, the pool was big and spacious even when busy with lots of guests, the food was delicious and had plenty of variety, and we also booked a couples massage for while we were there and it was amazing.

Our tips if staying at this hotel - 1. you absolutely need a car, while it's close to Castellamare di Stabia train station, you still wouldn't want to walk as its quite far and doesn't have sidewalks to safely walk down. If you have a car, you can also do so many day trips - we did Pompeii, climbed Vesuvius, Positano, Sorrento and a boat trip to Capri - all fantastic.

Secondly, another tip if you are into food - book the restaurant Piazetta Milu in advance. It is a Michelin star restaurant an 8 minute drive from the hotel and it was absolutely insane - highly highly recommend!
